SGC - congratulations on finishing your Taxol and glad you have a surgery date. Hopefully even though they might not see a difference in size from the chemo, it weakened it enough for the Herceptin to get in there and take care of things.

Shary - Sorry you are feeling isolated. I know how you feel. I was so used to doing what wanted, my kids live 4 and 8 hours away and any weekend I felt like visiting I just hopped in my car and drove. Now I feel like I am dependent on everyone and all my choices are gone. But you are right, it will pass and you are making great progress.

Thats the very same thing i said at labs this morning,i will be so glad to get my independence and to make decisions on my own.The nurse said this will be soon be over ,and it will be just a memory.I ve got 2 more to go,taxol, and 1 is tomorrow.and one next week...probably have to have labs for awhile,im taking coumadin, that i got from all this.Dont get me wrong ,if it wasnt for my husband,i would have a very bad time.He really took good care of me,as i was so sick for the most part. But this will pass ,and hopefully i will get my energy back, and start back walking, and getting out with my friends...thinking of you...Kayezzy

First good news in over 18 months!  All liver mets smaller and no new ones!  Even though there's no end in sight, at least the beast is responding to treatment again!  Smile

Thank you Warrior and Kayezzy, it is so nice to know that people understand, even family as helpful as they are just don't quite know. I had just retired after 25 years as a busy hairstylist, 3 weeks before my Dx,running a very full clientele and years of raising my family and now there are day's that I cannot even leave the house. At times it feels like I am in someone else's life😝

Congrats Syrmom, great news, anytime we can defeat the beast is Victory for us!!!! Many prayers going your way for more and more good news.❤️ I hope everyone has a peaceful and blessed day.

#8 done yesterday. 4 more left (yay!). It does seem like I am having a little bit more naseau each time but it hasn't really affected my eating or working so no big deal.

My mom had her first Taxol on Wednesday and her tongue is numb. Will this go away in between and come back? Or stay this way (and possibly get worse) for the full 12 weeks?

I'd mention it to her oncologist because it could be nothing and go away but it also could be a sign of neuropathy from the Taxol. I'm sure either way it would be best to let her doctor know.

She is talking L-glutamine. But yes it does sound like neuropathy--does that come and go? I will have her mention it though I am nervous about anything delaying treatment.

Alisha, Ive experienced that several times also my lips but it went away a day or two later. Its best to report any SE to her MO . Does she have difficulty speaking, eating , and or swallowing if so that requires immediate attention.

    Good luck !

Good morning ladies I hope everyone is having a good weekend with minimal SE'S, I did not get my 3rd Taxotere Friday, my ANC was only .9 but I did get a neupogen shot Friday but as of now I do not have my next Tx scheduled so I imagine MO will be calling Monday to set that up. Happy Sunday all❤️

    Gavin,

I am sorry to hear you did not get your tx. Are you ok? I foget what ANC is? I see you are on Taxotere. I will be on Taxol. Why do the MO 's choose one over the other? My best to you this week.

Hi furfriend2, I just left you a message on the chemo Oct board, how funny😄 I am feeling much better today, thank you for asking. Your ANC is the "absolute neutrophil" on your labs, it is like a snap shot of your immune system healthy range is 1.8- 8.7, so mine at .9 was pretty damn low. MO won't do chemo if it is under 1.5 and mine keeps dropping so I will probably have the neupogen after each Tx, and yea most people get Taxol after A/C it is in the same family but a little different and I am not sure why MO is doing the Taxotere but I am going to ask😄 Silly question based on your name, are you a dog person? We have 3 dog's, a mini-mini doxie , a shi-tzu a shepherd mix and our Granddoggie a shepherd mix also all in the house so my constant companions are furry friends🐶

I finished Taxol not too long ago. My biggest complaint is the weight gain from the steroids! I had the worst sweet tooth!

I'm a 29 year old wife and momma with stage 3. Just had an ultrasound done, the tumor that once was the size of a golf ball is now no where to be found. No matter how bad you feel, remember that it's worth it. It's always worth it! Now I am on to the Masectomy!

Hairless, Hi I just retired in may( 3weeks) before my Dx after doing hair for 25 years and sometimes I think about how ironic it is to have done hair all those years and now to be bald, I finished A/C on 10/10 and now I am on Taxotere and my hair is starting to grow back in, I told my husband I would probably look like a baby chicken😛 Best wishes on your upcoming surgery, it really is not that bad in fact I have said I would take a mastectomy over chemo any day, keep us posted.
