I have a pair of big, clunky, rubber, cushy flip-flops that I wear if I am not at work.  Not to pretty or feminine, but comfortable.  Some times my feet just feel like they are on fire. I work in health care, so I have Landau rubber "nurse" shoes for work...not pretty!  Ahh to be able to wear heels...pretty shoes again...ahh...

Lol Has the "T" in your name always been missing Whaevah? Or am I just more observant?

I stalkered Camille and she posted this morning on another thread. Hope she's okay too.

FL have you heard of Danskos? They look like clogs. I think they are ugly but I've heard they are the most comfortable shoe ever.

markat...the " T " is not the only thing missingWink DH and I laugh at this name, heard it on a SNL skit..the actress was too lazy , too much attitude to even pronounce it

Speaking of footwear, I just bought new boots...so ugly they are beautiful. Perfect for draggin' that pole around the chemo room.

    *waves* FLwarrier...LOVE flipflops

Camille broke the board with her pic, but we won't hold it against her. I hope she's just sleeping.

markat...if I am listening to my ipod, and nodding to the music while draggin' my pole around chemo ....does that make me a pole dancer?

  • markat
    markat Member Posts: 502

Yes...yes it does. ;) hahaha! I'll have to use that next week at the infusion center.

I love Camille pics...they make me lol!  I also hope she is ok.

Whaevah...pole dancin' in the chemo room!!!  You might as well make the best of it.  And...I think we must have matching boots...

Markat I have not heard of Danskos...I will google them and learn about them.  I am all about comfort these days.

well then, if you both say so, I'm putting it on my resume as well...7 months of pole dancing should cover that gap in my work history

I encourage you to do that as well. Tongue Out Add each other as references. Just sayin'

If we yell loud enough, think we can wake Camillegal for a joke or two?

  • markat

Hahaha, I literally laughed out loud on that one! I'll have to add that to my resume because that's all I've been doing for the last year! Or bring it up in my interview Wed.

Ended up going out last night.  DH talked me into going out about 7:30 to a party that started at 7 so not overly planned.  Went as my DH's "biker chick". Best I could do at last minute.  Black heeled boots, skinny jeans and DH motorcycle jacket from when he was 17.  Came home about midnight and did sleep for 5 or 6 hrs  Yeah!  It was fun as they are a great bunch of people.  There was one costume that just killed me.  Girl dressed up as hairy guy in a speedo.  Belly button sticking out and nips too.  Over big and one going north and one going south.  All I could think about was some of the funny stories of nips I saw on this site.

Hope Cami is okay.  Pole dancing too funny.  Hope everyone is staying safe from storm.  Glad we live on top of the hill in our neighbourhood as predicting at least 4 inches of rain.

GM everyone----Markat u wore heels??? If there was color I'd show green with envy. I can wear the chunk heel some with the zipper in the side boots in a way but not actual heels.

bgirl good for u on going out last nite---u wore tight pants oh that's another thing I don't dare do with my figure. LOL but I'm glad u sound like u had a good time.

I'm still going with my D, I ate last nite I was so hungry, I know better I should have eaten cery light but I didn't so the saga continues. I feel like crap LOL and my computer is acting up so I haven't been on it much but thank you guys for caring It makes me feel so good--I'm fine really and I'm glad SOME of u got out.

I hope everyone is safe from this stupid storm I don't even know where it's going, it's like all over with SE reaching even further---it's gotten really cool here, but I'm fine with that--I cuddle under my electric throw which I love, so does my grandson--My girlfriend in CA sent that to me last Christmas and I thought oh  it's nice--but I didn't realize how nice it is my Katie-Kat love it too.

Oh I have to tell u how goofy I am, (if u don't already know) as u know I'm home alot so I write to politicians Like the governor, comptroller, President all the time about issues that I find important I write so often someone ends up writing back--I'm a pain in the ass to most or all to whom I write and I figure the FBI will be at my door soon, but I continie. my dis. payment was screwed up and they gave me too much for a while and I had no idea--they discovered it and was taking $500.00 out of my pension a month, well I got them down to taking 200.00 a month but I still feel like it wasn't my fault so i should pay them back, but I'm dealing with the government--That took me like 5 months to do so everything takes forever. Now if I end up in jail my dgtr will let u know hahaha--I do such crazy things, I always did and I don't know why but I fight for what I think is right or wrong--I'm now talking about cancer people after the shock to other politicians nobody wants to hear this but I write anyway at least 2x a week. OMG why do I get so involved. U see I don't type well and my words are not educated and there I am anyway. hahaha

    Good-morning all.

Glad you are ok Camille. Computer problems can be really annoying. Hope "all the issues" resolve soon.  When the FBI arrives, just charm them with your wit! Cool  All I can say is we need to clone your communication efforts!!!   You go girl, bend their ear (or would that be eyes?).

Markat what type of job are you interviewing for?  Hope it goes really well for you.

Bgirl too funny about the girl at the party you went too!

I am in Florida and I am getting some wonderful breeze and nice temps from the passing of sandy.  No rain here. Is anyone in her path?

Camille, I had one of those elecrtic throws and I used it so much I wore it out. I loved it and I miss it.  My DM told me last week that she has one that was given to her last Christmas and she does not use it, so she is sending it to me!  YAY! Looking forward to that!

Hello all - well, I got out of hermit mode last night.  We went over to my bro/sil - not for a Halloween party but just because.  (sil usually works weekends but was off yesterday) - it was fun - we had some drinks, they had a fire outside in the firepit...then we sang karaoke.  It was great to feel "normal" Paying for it today, lol!  I had an alka seltzer on the way to McD's to get some greasy breakfast.  And I smell like cotton candy vodka and wood smoke.

Catching up on all the posts - too funny about the pole dancing!

Finally cooling off here - had to turn the heat on for the first time yesterday.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Klt good nite out--u have to indulge and enjoy u'r self--but the next day usually isn't pleasant. but u had fun last night good for u. And greasy McD's sounds good to me right now. LOL

Camille so glad you're okay. We're just used to talking to you. Too funny about the fbi and sorry about your checks! My friend had that happen with her unemployment. She got a little part time job making close to nothing and it was approved by one person. Then when her benefits ran out they came to collect all the benefits she made while having that job. I'm extremely liberal, but there is something wrong with that! People can't feed their kids on minimum wage so the insensitive is to just stay on unemployment for as long as possible! Okay rant over :)

FL it's a job as an aide at a private school. So basically I'll get paid to do what I volunteer as at my girls' school.

K- I'm so happy you had fun! You are doing so good after surgery! I'm jealous ;-) I think I'm just so self conscious or something, or crazy! Or lazy…its probably just lazy.

But seriously u'r poor friend whatever happens that's their mistake we pay for in the long run and we didn't know about it. U know I worked for the state for over 20 yrs. and I never did anything illegal, but I would go right up to the line to help someone when I knew they were in a jam and I would spend time thinking how I could help them without breaking any laws, cuz i would loose my job but I sure as hell worked for the people. Rhe only thing I did wrong was get cancer and still having horrible side effects so I couldn't go back to work, cuz I would have. In fact I planned on it cuz u can work as long as u'r able to they don't push u to retire. So it's tough--and I sure wish u luck for this job it sounds perfect for u Markat, and just a few hrs. that's good and u'll get out too. Maybe u'll feel better about thins rhen.

camille - that pension situation just stinks :(  Not nearly the same situation at all but when my DH changed jobs, they overpaid him by an entire paycheck and we didn't realize it - then a few months later they wanted their money - we live paycheck to paycheck most months and there was no way...we have only paid about half of it back so far.

markat - I hope the job situation works out - that sounds ideal.  Oh, I'm not doing that well by any means - in fact, I just took a hydrocodone again once I got over feeling hungover...constant tightness and pain in my chest...I hate these TEs so bad!  But last night I was feeling no pain, lol!

New avatar with my crazy hair - it is getting long enough to stick up and be unruly in places but not long enough to style - can't tell from the pic but it's gray so I will be coloring it as soon as I feel it is long enough!

pole dancin'... I wish I had thought of that when I was getting tx...especially on the first day. Good one! (damn chemo brain. I can't remember who wrote it)

markat - good luck with your interview. Sounds like it'll be just enough to get you out a bit.

camille - sorry about the big D - isn't there anything they can give you? More drugs? lol

kltb - I can relate to the TEs. I am so friggin' thankful to get them out next month! I hope I'll still be saying that after surgery.

Getting rainy and windy here - a good day for hermitude! Hugs to all.

Klt that sucks too what they did to u'r husband and u--it all sucks----What gets me is cancer affects everythin in u'r life--it takes u'r whole being and destroys it, then any monetary worth it tears it apart. So I'm in one of those moods today I'm sorry

kltb...LOVE your new avatar! Mine is not grey, it is white and I will be so happy when I can color it as well

markat...I sure hope your job pans out, sounds ideal for you but if not...remember I will give you a dancin' referenceWink

journey4life...just realized you are TN, a sista, scary when we first heard, well, it is all scary, for everyone really

camillegal...hope you can get off the D train, geez, time for you to get a break...glad you haven't lost your sense of humour, really love your jokes. And yes, I agree this f'en cancer affects every area of our lives. Great job with the letter writing, imho, you never know how much of a difference you can make in the lives of others if you don't try, and you seem to do lots of trying.

My cat brought me a bird today. I love presents but would like to pass on these kinds. Fortunately I live by the catch and release program and he is used to it. He never kills anything, well...that's a lie...but that's another story. The bird is alive and well. My cat is stuffed with treats and flaked out.

Hope everyone has a nice week.

camille and whaevah - thx...it is my "baby mohawk" as Abby says - just kind of sticks up every which way!  I hear different things from different people about when to color/how long to wait.

whaevah - ack!  I would freak out if my cats brought me gifts like that - but they are indoor only and wouldn't know what to do with a bird or rodent if they could catch one.  Which they couldn't because they are too darn fat.

journey - are y'all going to get smacked hard with the hurricane?

Well, I got a couple loads of laundry done despite this pain, I am just having to live with it I guess.  Another PS appt Tues and maybe a fill will make a difference - I know it will be uncomfortable in the short run but maybe it will help a little.  I just really hope it isn't capsular contracture (or whatever that is) on that side - I don't know if it could happen this quickly.  But tomorrow is 4 weeks.  Also I still don't have that second opinion for rads consult - my BS office is supposed to be scheduling it.  I am going to insist tomorrow that they get me a date.  The one RO I already talked to said I would have to start 12 weeks post op at the latest.

Have to go to the grocery store tomorrow...hopefully Abby will stay at school....
