Lily, chocolate is a mood lifter so enjoy! Hope you get some rest and feel better.
Jazzy and Sally, I love tulips! Very cheerful. Maybe I will get some too. Especially since it is so cold here Spring won't come until late April early May.
Good night everyone!

Good morning hermits. Here is my patio this morning in New Mexico. Big storm came in that started Thursday night and continued through this am. My part of town got a good 9 inches between Thursday night to this morning. The area closer to the mountains go more like a foot. We have not had a big snow storm since 2006. Mountains get the snow here, we usually get an inch or in the valley, but rarely this much.
Just so you northeast folks don't feel like you are the only ones digging out.....
Sun is out and it will be all melted by end of the day. That is the good thing about here. High elevation and lots of sunshine means the snow won't stay for long (except in the mountains where we like it.....)

Jazzy, I wrote a long pm but it was deleted - I am limited to 5/day I guess. I had double as well in first surgery! I will pm tomorrow!
Hope it keeps on dripping down there (and here)!

Daisy- no worries. Relax and enjoy your day.
Cami- this is another one for Joey, but heck for all of you. Listen to these kids jam out on Led Zepplin care of NPR. I am totally liking how the drummer got their beat down.

Good morning hermits- it has been quiet on this thread this week. Not many posting. I hope everyone is doing okay? If you are out there lurking, say hi!
Mommy- what are plastic canvas projects?
Bippy- are you recovering from your rads and is the skin feeling better? How is the visit with your friend going (or how did it go if she went home?)
Mags is down to the last of her treatment and worn down. That much I know. Sending love and energy to get through the last of it.
Onco- I hope you are feeling better from the stomach and other issues.
Lilly- how are the plans coming along for the new sanctuary? Are you feeling more settled in the new space?
Cami- hope you are doing okay. Thinking of you and Joey.
Teka- it's March and that means spring is around the corner. We be into will into the gardens soon. I love the pic of Teka and the daffs too. Those yellow tulips I bought last week are open and so beautiful and aromatic too!
Ducky- are you still out there? How is Stella?
Sally- did you get yourself some flowers yet?
Blondie- I hope you are continue to heal and the ankle is better?
Daisy- good morning and hope you have a good day today.
Looks like some more moisture over night, in the form of rain. We are now over freezing this morning. Sounds like we will dry out but it is returning on Monday.
Wishing everyone a good Sunday. Into March we go!

Hi Jazzy. This is lurker Sally hoping that everyone has had a restful week end and that everyone has some especially happy moments this week.
I forgot to water my pot of pretty light purple tulips. At least I think it was lack of water that made a few of the leaves turn yellow tan. Usually I over water plants, so I was trying not kill the tulips with too much water. Even with some yellowish leaves, I am enjoying them. Unlike Jazzy's tulips, mine do not have any smell.
M0mmy, I too am curious about plastic canvas projects.
Bippy, Mags, and Onco, I hope healing comes soon.
When I think of healing, I now think of the emotional as well as the physical. Emotional issues are still a big part of my life. How I have changed. I finished active treatment a year ago.
Teka, I planted crocus bulbs in one of my whiskey barrels. Only yellow ones have bloomed. I thought I was planted mixed colors.
Lili, please keep us posted on the progress of your sanctuary project.
Cami, did I read somewhere that you are now covering phones for two companies. Maybe it's time to train a helper ... Joey?
Blondie, are you home?
Daisy and Ducky, I hope you will both add an update soon along with other posters who are reading.
I spent some time today retyping a family oral history. The original document is single spaced, and my copy was copied on a very old copier; you know the smeary kind. My eyes are crossing. I am using larger type, more paragraphs, 1 1/2 spacing, and two returns between paragraphs. I feel like I am meeting a great uncle and a great grandfather that I never knew.
Bye for now ...

Blondie, I hope that your family and especially the twins warmly welcome you home. I am sure that you have missed sleeping in your own bed!

Blondie- glad you are heading home. I bet your kitten will be glad to see you for sure! It will be nice to sleep in your own bed.
Daisy- will be in your pocket tomorrow.
Sally- I put my tulips in the bedroom near the window and they opened wide up this weekend. I cannot believe how fragrant they are.

The plastic canvas projects that I get come with everything you need to complete them: yarn, plastic canvas, needle, instructions and trims, if the project calls for it. Working on collecting as many pieces as I can for a village set. I get all of my projects from Mary Maxim.
If you have never seen what plastic canvas looks like here is a picture
Its sort of a mesh that you can shape per a pattern. Its a bugger to count, but easy to cut with a pair of scissors. You just have to be careful to count accurately or it can mess you up when your cutting and cause lots of frustration. A sheet of plastic canvas looks like a sheet of paper in a some ways.

Jazzy, that tulip is a happy color! The next time that I buy tulips I want to get ones that scent the air.
M0mmy, do you display the village all year round or is it a holiday display?
I sometimes like to knit to keep my fingers busy. Since I have few knitting skills, scarves were my "go to" project. My grandson suggested that I sew them together to make a blanket. It will be a blanket of many colors, patterns, and textures because I buy yarn that draws my attention because of color and/or texture and I try out various patterns from a book of patterns. Much starting over is involved as I try new patterns, so this blanket will take years. No matter ... I am enjoying the process.
I am behind my self-designated schedule. Have a good day everyone ...

Daisy, before I wrote my last post, I wrote a post to you. Where did it go? I think it said ... I thought your surgery was today, Tuesday. After rereading your post, I realize that it was yesterday. How are you doing? I hear that anesthetics, according to my unofficial poll, stay in some people's systems for a few days which is a good reason to take life easy and to take lots of naps. Take good care of yourself.

Right now I have no where to put the village on display so as I get pieces done, they get stored away. One of these days when I have the room, I am going to use the village as a Christmas display with a train running around it.

Sally,
I am definitely taking it easy - thanks for asking! Hopefully, I'll be myself by the end of the week. Funny, before my pre-op appointment last week, I couldn't remember if my surgery was Mon or Tues. Surgery was early Monday morning - home by noon! My husband is catering to my every need - snacked on grilled cheese sandwich yesterday evening - my favorite comfort food Your blanket sounds beautiful! My grandmother used to always have a knitting project with her. She taught me to knit when I was young - I developed an allergy to wool. Now there are so many great non-wool yarns, but I have forgotten how to knit... can you post a picture?
Jazzy,
Your tulips are lovely. I have 2 cats that attack every living plant that I bring in... I have to hide my flowers behind closed doors.
Mommy,
I googled your projects - do you use a standard stitch or are there variations? Is it like cross stitch? There's a really attractive arched bridge - did you make that? What a lovely tradition displaying your village will be! I think that I need a hobby
Blondie,
Hope that ankle heals well and that the MO will take out the port. Is PT painful? Have you considered trying the new targeted drug Palbociclib? It's a pill. I tried the Feasibility trial. Had to stop due to Neutropenia. Some women have very few side effects. You have to take it with an anti-hormonal drug, though... Well, it's good that you are home and working on your crochet projects. Your grandchildren must treasure those blankets! Are your steps cleared of snow/ice? Be careful.
I envy all of you with your projects... I am sitting in my recliner most of the day since surgery. I truly wish I had a project... More snow tonight and Thursday - just a few inches? It's been crazy. On way to surgery about 1/8 mile from my house, a car skidded off the road on top of a high snow bank. I thought that New Englanders knew how to drive in this stuff? We watched her speed by the end of our road... I still love the white blanket in my back yard.
Hermits,
Enjoy your flowers, chocolate, projects, and wild weather.

First photo of flowering trees this year in our area.

Daisy- most of the time the stitch that I use is half of cross-stitch. At times there are other stitches that I have to use. Started the arched bridge yesterday.

Mommy, that looks like fun. Will the directions be clear in the kit? I haven't done anything like it since I was very young... Oh do you know if it comes with yarn that is not wool? I need to look into that. I would make coasters, I think... That bridge looks so romantic. Your village will be beautiful.
Teka, "I" am so with you on that!

The directions are usually very easy to follow, but sometimes they can be confusing. I'm pretty sure it is but don't quote me on that

I'm a hermit too! I've always needed solitude to stay sane, so that makes it a little easier, but there's always this guilt hanging over me that I should be trying harder to get out or socialize or whatever. I've surrounded myself with the things I enjoy doing like movies, embroidery, etc and I love having a good excuse to just sit and do that all day! I have such a HARD time letting other people help me when they offer. I always respond with, "Oh, I'm doing ok. I don't need anything right now." I feel like I'm shooting myself in the foot because honestly I feel pretty lonely. I go back and forth on this whole thing. Ugh cancer sucks!!

Got up this morning to see that hubby has a delayed opening at work!
