    A hawk is hunting.

    I can hear the skreee aloft.

    Red-tailed bird of prey.

    We had a hawk in our maple tree on Friday. I took tons of pics on my phone.

    Angry's better than sad,

    I feel more in control then,

    A purpose, perhaps.

    Not big mad, but maybe just enough to insist on answers!

    Hugs Red. Get those answers! Well be with you in your pocket so if you need courage just pull us out and we'll prop you up!

    Red goes to see doc

    Insists on information

    Finds out what is wrong

    __

    Red then gets it fixed

    And all anxiety leaves

    And Red can relax!

    Badger lovely Hawk haiku.

    I love owls. It's hard to see them but sometimes I hear them. Especially at the farm.

    Badger's a poet

    Writing those lovely Haiku

    That bring us right there!

    Mirwenna. Welcome. I am glad the cats help. I have three at home now. Though one is screeching mad cause he wants out. And he SAYS  so. " OOOUUUUT! REPEAT many many times. LOL

    We all need comfort

    Most times in the human form

    Sometimes in warm cats!

    My DH left today for work. Outage is coming up. 12 weeks or more of 12 hours days. Won't be seeing him on weekends for a while. He's not much fun. LOL.  He just wants to sleep. And who could blame him. So I'll be lonely too. LOL.  But I learned a long time ago when he's doing outages I used to just leave and spend time with his folks or mine rather than expect what he could not give. Intellectually I knew he had no reserves to interact with humans under those kind of hours. But emotionally it's hard to be ignored when you're right there. So I left and he could eat sleep and not feel guilty about not talking and spending time with family. Made it much easier. So the same thing now but he's older and it's harder.  But it is what it is and we all get through it. I realized I never said. An outage is a refueling of the nuclear reactor.  Every bit of maintenence that has to be done is during this time. It's an orchestrated symphony. Every instrument must be there in time and when required and everybody needs to do their part to keep it going. The engineers are running all over to keep It moving and correct problems as they occur and of course they always do.  LOL.  Sorry for the longest post! LOL

    When Moon is alone

    She talks to herself often

    And she talks  A LOT!

    LOL

    Monica, glad you explained what an outage was because I was thinking he was an electrical utility worker. Which I suppose he is. But I was wondering how you Knew there were outages coming. Makes much more sense now.

    My husband will golf,

    In Tennessee once a year,

    Just him and his buds

    -------------

    Dog sleeps on my bed,

    Cats curled up beside Cleo

    No room for mama.

    ---------------

    I'm good with all that,

    Cuz for one week of each year,

    It's me and furfriends.

    -------------

    Pull my legs up high

    Go around them to get out,

    When I have to pee.

    Lol, the things we do for our furfriends. It's actually quite the acrobatic act to leave the bed when they are on it. I try so hard not to disturb them.

    Welcome Morweena! That's a very old name. In fact, I seem to recall saying that same thing a few months ago on another thread. Was that you? If so, hi again. If not, welcome.

    Badger, that beautiful bird didn't say a thing, but he did preen for us. It was remarkable.

    LOL.  Two days of over 40. Not to worry, but getting some snow tonite shouldn't be much here,  But Chicago is in for 9 inches! LOL

    But over a foot of snow on front side of house. On the south side hill most snow is melted since Friday.

    hi ladies! ♥  Another with spring fever here.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Warm sun melts the snow.
    Water runs under dingy
    cornices of ice.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~

    Wet by day, frozen

    by night, slippery sidewalks.

    Walk like a penguin!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Snowbanks shrink each day.
    I too look for the green shoots.
    Eagerly, I wait.
    Badger is building?
    Something with bolts and those nuts
    Wonder what it is?
  • badger
    badger Member Posts: 24,938
    (LOL Monica, I'm not building anything.  The squirrels are looking for nuts they buried last fall.  There's a row of holes where they dug and not found it so moved further away and tried again.  Reminded me of me, looking for something.  Where the h*ll did I PUT that?  I KNOW it's around here somewhere!)
    Squirrels help the trees
    propagate so they don't mind.
    Yes please, plant my seeds.
