Chrisrenne. Alex is so cute! Thanks for the photo, always great to see his smiling face. Congrats to your handsome son.
Mariane - glad your daughter is happy with her bracelet. You know me, I think Angels go with everything!
Liefie - I believe you are the one with the frozen shoulder. What exactly does that mean? My shoulder is very stiff and I can't get relief. I'm getting a massage tomorrow. I hope that will help.
Since we are away from home and my Beast, I have been walking with my weights on my ankles. I set my timer on my phone and go... I hope my scale remembers my efforts when we meet again. My DH is under the weather so we might be going home early. I know he's not feeling well because he is considering letting me drive. Praying for a miraculous recovery. Just a cold, but you know how men are.
Karen - Breast Amigas is a cute name. So proud of you runners!
CmBernardi - if this was your trench coat week end, hope you got photos. We are looking forward to details.
JoAnn - I followed your link about BC, the multiple mammograms and the fund raisers who are getting rich. Interesting. I didn't know there were basically 3 types of BC. The whole article really made you think...0 -
shianne- thank you on both! Congrats on your daughter, i meant to tell you that the other day.

Cmbernardi: Happy belated… sorry ! Hope it was a blast.
Websister & Ramols: you are rocking that short look – and yes websister – I would’ve slapped the cashier… really –how damn rude. Unfortunately you cant fix stupid.
Scottie: sorry the Leafs lost – oh! wait….no I’m not - and the Blue Jays...not a good night for Toronto eh? Come on Canucks - just about to what the playoffs.
Chrisrenee: How proud… and what a handsome son – so sweet. What a sweetheart little Alex is – that cheeky little smile – just wanna hug him.
Karen: you made me laugh with your app to change channels – I never knew.
Hi to the others I have missed. Had a busy day today – mental health day at home…. Outlaws arrive on Friday from England and the house needed cleaning and laundry doing. They arrive and I go and meet a friend for the weekend in Penticton – start of wine fest…. But they are here for a month.
Hoping you are all OK and doing well – hugs xx

How long did it take you ladies before you could wear your pre op bras? I have couple bandeau style but lol, it's embarrassing when one side falls down to look like a cummerbund instead of a bra!!!! Lmao, omg, I was laughing so hard at my self and of course no shame in fixing it right in the fruit market parking lot. Which is on the side of the hiway.

Shianne- I had to go buy new bras all together. Even though I was a 38D ore bmx and now measure a 40D the cups of my bras don't fit and I am wearing a 40B. I didn't buy new bras until 3/9/13.

So about 3 months post sx. Just with summer coming its more difficult hiding the unbalanced lol.
I'm small, 34b. But one is perky :-) and one is old :-( they are not even close to being even. So I'd like to wear a bra under tanks and T's but I still have irritation under my arm
I see my RO on the 7th. He should be able to tell me.
Eyes are getting heavy, good night all.0 -
I am ridiculously lopsided and will be until exchange late fall when PS also does an augment on my real boob. I think I am in denial about summer and bathing suits!

Believe, I'm not the one with the frozen shoulder (fortunately!), but for the life of me I cannot remember who it was on here. Hopefully she will speak up, and give you some advice. Only advice I can think of is to see a physiotherapist if massage does not make it better. You have to get that shoulder moving. The obstacles we encounter on our road to recovery are so numerous and varied . . . hope your shoulder feels better soon, and your DH too. It always amazes me how sorry they can be for themselves if they don't feel well - lol.
Shianne, I'm the same size as you, 34B. The TE side sits really high, and the other side has surrendered to gravity big time. Hopefully after DIEP they will be more similar. Are you going to have something done to the 'old' breast like a lift maybe? At home I don't bother with bra's much; only wear one when I leave the house.
Chrisrenee, congrats on your son's achievement, and so happy that little Alex is doing so well. You guys have been through so much, and really deserve some peace, good times and happiness now. Hugs to you all!
Marian, 'ridiculously lopsided' is an excellent description for me too at this stage. So looking forward to be somewhat even again.

Wow - I have only been gone for 5 days and so much has been happening on this thread. I had a wonderful visit to San Francisco - the weather was gorgeous - around 22 - 24 on a couple of days but it cooled off at night. I did lots of walking and ate some very good food. It was wonderful being able to "forget" about cancer treatments for a few days. I am one week past radiation treatment now and my skin did keep on "cooking" after the final treatment. No broken skin or blisters just very red and itchy. Thank God.
So interesting to read about the diverse group that we are here.
I am 8 weeks post chemo and am just starting to feel some hair growth on my head. I have no lashes or brows yet.
Melissa - so sorry to hear about your dog. My dog is 11 years old today and I know my time with him is getting shorter. Such a heart-wrenching time for you and your family - my heart is with you!!
Off to bed - hope everyone has a good night!

Liefie, because of the rads PS and BS want to wait a year to do anything more. PS said that there will be more "let down" on diep side but its going to be slower bc of rads so not sure what will be done. I'm thinking if a lift won't even me out than an implant will be required. I'm too young still for life of awkward, ill fitting tops. (I'm 44on the 14 of this month) I see all my drs next week so hopefully I'll have a better idea.
Believe if I'm not mistaken I think the frozen shoulder was mcook.
Adiago, I'm so glad your skin didn't blister or break open. That was the worst for me!!! You're on the upward side of healing now :-D I noticed the lashes before the brows and you should start to see little dark flecks anyway now!!! Isn't that hair so soft on your head? I couldn't stop rubbing it, not even aware I was doing it most of the time! Lol0 -
Believe, hope the shoulder gets better. I agree, Mcook had frozen shoulder issues.
Adaigo-glad you had fun in San Fran..I loved my visit there years..was preggo with my now 26 year old and the taxi driver went over the hills so fast, thought my tummy with baby was gonna hit the ceiling. Also, lol ..my dad loves, loves parades. We were there for his and Mom's 35th anniv. After breakfast there was a parade starting..and he got so excited...like a kid. Well, the first group comes by and holds a banner, "dykes on bikes". You have to understand, that my parents are both European and this was back in 1986......Dad had no clue and asked what this parade was for...oy ..to try and explain. LOL... Hope you'll tell us about you..just loving all the bios!
Chrisrenee, congrats on son's achievements. Is your daughter healed from her surgery? Give that nephew and niece a big hug from their BCO fans..we are all cheering them on!
Well gang, off to get primped for my 10 day adventure to Indiana and Chicago tomorrow. I'm sure I'll keep up with reading on here as you guys are a part of me now. Hugs!!

Oh ya..found the french guy getting the wine ready

Shianne, the same here. I had rads last year with TE in place, and thought that PS could just do what's necessary to the healthy breast during DIEP surgery all in one go, but no. Also because of rads she first wants to see how/where the DIEP breast settles before she does anything to the other one. This is a slow process, it seems. PS had me wait almost a year after rads for DIEP, and will probably wait another year for next phase. She is very cautious, and I like that. Hope it all works out for you!
Aruba, what a dream man! My eyes feel way better now that they've rested on him. LOL. Enjoy your tour!
Adagio, San Fran is one place that I still want to visit ever since I've first heard that Scott McKenzie hippie song in the sixties - 'If you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair. . . la la la. You are past the treatment stage - yayyy - and can look forward to be 'normal' again soon. Once those lashes/eyebrows start growing again, they fill in quickly. 8 weeks PFC last year I had no hair, no lashes or eyebrows with only one boob at my only DD's wedding, but hey, I was alive! Greetings from Van Island.
You guys are right, it was Mcook who had the frozen shoulder issue. Good day to everybody!

OMG - could barely cathch up.... missed two days - you chatty lot! So I'll try to address what I remember.
First, stride... SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR KITTY.. but so glad she went peacefully. Putting mine down (she was 21 and also had kidney problems) was heartbreaking. At least you didn't have to make that decision.
Websister - LOVE THE AVATAR!!!
Who finished chemo?? WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MarianEliz... so well travelled. I want to go on one of your Treks! and can you PM me the information about the mindfulness recovery. I have been trying various forms of meditation for years; group guided, tapes, just quieting my mind.
We found our house yesterday and are making a bid. It's a short sale AND there is another person bidding; so pray for me ladies that mine is the one the owner wants to present to the bank! It a comtemporary house, in the woods over looking a lake. It is SO peaceful....
SO here is my thought for the day (email) and I wanted to share it with you all.
I walked across an open field at winter's break as the sun danced on the last few drifts. I imagined my fears would melt one by one as I learned to love myself.

Beautiful quote, Juneau! Never forget that we all love, love love you. You are so worthy of love. Good luck with the bid on the house. It does sound ideal for you, and so idyllic.

I have a frozen shoulder It started freezing up about three months after bmx with TE. It was so painful when it started for about three weeks then pain stop but I could hardly move it - I went to PT and that did not help. After my exchange surgery it started to losing up and slowly it has gain some range of motion. The doctors can't explain why some people get it and others don't. I have some cording as well that has not released. They suggest a cortizon shot but I refuse that do to lymph nodes being removed on that side. It was very frustrating when it was painful and I could not sleep for weeks but that went away. I coudl not even dress myself or pull things over my head. Luckly although still there much better since November. I just stretch every day in the shower for about 10 minutes since heat seems to help loosen it up. and then again through out the day. I would go see a person if you think you are getting a frozen shoulder that specialized in lymphodema if you had lymph node removal on that side. I got xrays to check and bones look normal but I never had an MRI but might do that in the next few weeks to check on it. Hope that helps:) some tyneol or other inflammation reducing drugs helps relive the pain and ICE for pain.

Hi mrscich. Two months into Femera and I have very few, mild SEs. Stiffness in the AM is resolved by stretching. Mild, occasional hot flashes, but bearable. I take it at night before bed, so either I don't have SEs or I sleep through them. Either way is good for me. I also take Glucosamine, MSM, and Chondroitin based on comments on BCO from women who have been on Femera. Totally believe in pre-treating. before something becomes an issue.

Aruba: he could crush my grapes any day
Juneau: sending out positive vibes for your house... sounds idyllic. Love that quote. Yes, we love you any how/way.
Adagio: I love San Fran.... we are planning another trip there in the Autumn this year. Brows and lashes... well 10 months PFC and lashes are noticible now - unfortunately the brows are a little more scarce, so I still have to pencil them in
Shianne: I do the same with my hair... it is so baby soft eh?
Working from home today - love it.... just wish I could do it more often.
Hello to any and everyone I may have missed.

Believe I have frozen shoulder as well...cant stretch/reach above shoulder.have tried pt but too sore so decided to exercise and hopefully it will go. Apparently it can disappear as quickly as it appears. There are injections but I havent pursued them as I have gotton used to it.
Hi to everyone.:)0 -
I have my first appt. (since ending rads and starting Tamo) with my MO tomorrow. I can't wait to hear what she has to say about my fatigue. Also, my Tamo drug sheet says Tamo can interfere with my thyroid testing. WTF? Anyone else have thyroid issues and also on Tamoxifen? Have you had any trouble? I am hypothyroid. I also can't remember how often my check ups with my MO will be. Every three months?
0 -
SwgeeWi, I am on thyroid meds for hypothyroid .... My MO knows and no one has said anything. I just had more blood taken this week by my GP so will see what she says. I have been on Tamoxifan for a year now .... I see my MO every 6 months.

Liefie - you should definitely take a trip to San Fran - it is amazing - I just love it there - it is so relaxing. You should go to the Hippie area at Haight/Ashbury - still quite a few of the older hippies around there and lots of young ones too!! The Victorian architecture is fascinating and very beautiful. And if you like shopping - you will be in heaven!! My daughter is getting married next August, so I should have some hair by then. Too bad that you were missing your hair etc. for your DD's wedding - but as you say - you were alive and present - got to keep things in perspective!!
TaZZY - I have heard that the fall in San Fran is a great time of the year - lucky you. I am off to South Africa in September - never been there before - looking forward to it a great deal.
Shianne - I feel truly blessed to have had it so easy during the rads - just a bad sunburn and now it is fading fast. I don't have surgeries to worry about since I had only a lumpectomy done. The surgeries are quite a long process - huh? Glad you are feeling better these days.
Juneau - good luck with the house - sounds idyllic! Love the quote!!
Aruba - that is hilarious about your Dad and the parade!! I am sure you explained it very well. LOL
Hope your day is going well. I did a bit of gardening today - beans are growing well - had kale from the garden at dinner time last night - delicious!! I love growing veggies. And I haven't even planted any seeds yet - they are all sprouting from last year - amazes me!
