Aruba; so sorry to hear of dads fall. Prayers for a quick recovery coming your way.
Cmbernardi and momof3: been reading and sending prayers. Just been too busy to write.
Iowa girls... Wish was able to keep my reservation. Get your asses to NYC. It's BESUTIFUL in the fall. How about coming out for the diva dash?? October in nj here right outside the city?? Google Diva Dash. I'm getting pretty fit and I'm pulling together a team.
So my boss is gone now, 2 weeks, and my peaceful, relaxing work environment no longer feels that way. I'm hanging in there, but I'm saddened and feel the loss.
Still waiting for our house. We have our mortgage commitment and we are ready to go... Just need sellers bank approval. Please pray that the interest rates start to go back down. They've hove up a full point since we went under contract. We can't lock in because we don't know the closing date. So frustrating.
September is coming fast and I'm really looking forward to having my left natural, augmented, remaining breast...lifted- so I don't need a bra. And that wee I am also having my eye lids done. My gift to myself.
So I'm exercising every day. Doing livestrong program too, been eating a bit more junk since vacation, but not so kuch thag its a major effect in things. I still list 1.4 this week to get back to where i was a month ago. Im nut do gocused kn the bumver anymore. Clothes fir better and people are starting to comment on my body shape changing. My arms and back are getting done definition and that motivates me to keep moving, running, lifting weights...
I miss you ladies. I'm sorry I've been gone so long. I will try to make a point of sticking my nose out there more often!
love you all!!!0 -

Haven't been by lately.. having a pretty nice summer (school schedule.) Did join a post-treatment support group, about 8 women, every 2-3 weeks. Been interesting. I have my next 3 mos next week, first blood test in 6 mos. 1 year since end of chemo, almost a year since exchange surgery. Suffering with the aromasin (sooo achey and stiff, esp in morning but all day forget picking something up off the floor without groaning.)
But alive, with head full of curly hair. And Cher, I just turned 58 last week!

aruba so sorry to hear about your Dad's fall. I'm right there with you with my dad so know what youre going through. They so want to hang onto their independence and I know I'll be the same way if/when I get to be their age. You are such a great daughter! ireland thats great news!
believe I too am anxious to hear what coconut bowling is. That was so nice of you to send the group a care package. What a wonderful lady you are!
For those still in recouperation mode hope all is going well and you are taking it easy.
Juneau so nice to hear from you. I will pray the interest rates go down. My son wants to get a place soon and he was just saying how quickly they are going up and that its getting him nervous. Dang girl I'm envious of the little makeover you're getting at the same time. That will be nice.
Well Iowa group-the trip sounds great! We all wish we were there. Like the others I cant wait to see pics! Have fun.
Take care all.

Yes I have taken up polel dancing! Thanks Aimee for posting those photos!
First of all, I am so thankful for everyone here and you were all with us in spirit! The run was hard and the team did it is relays due to the heat! I was in the Van when I saw these crazy ladies on the side of the road and I kept looking at signs and realized it was them! I jumped out and give them big ole sweaty hugs! Then I got the end and when running to the stadium in Iowa city saw a bunch of neon green tshirts and flowers in their hair and knew it could only be my sisters. I had to fight to not start bawling right then and there! They gave me flowers and stuck around in the heat while they made the team go up and down the stairs of the stadium for a video.
It was amazing and it made my day so special and thank you for that! I was overwhelmed with the kindness and compassion from of you! The efforts you all made to be there and organizing the trip was unbelievable. I drove home today and just was reflecting on the weekend and everything you all did for me. If I did not say it enough I want you all to know thar I know I will never be able to repay that outpouring of support from everyone on here. The ladies who cheered me on and encouraged me through out my journey with this run, the donations and the ones who were able to make the trek to scenic Iowa:)
We had some crazy fun times! I just think next time I would like to be able to walk normal so maybe someone else can do the next race:) still recovering today:)
I am ready to detox from Jell-O shots and all the other naughty stuff I ate and drank for atleast a few days so I can fit back into my pants:) but well worth it:)
Oh yeah! Believe those cookies were just what I needed for my drive home:) thank you so much for those and the bracelets that was so sweet of you!
Love you all!0 -
Wow, looks like you all had too much fun! Great photos.

Really looks and sounds great. Way to go, ladies!!

Hi All,
Well just 3 days post-op and I am doing fairly well. Still taking the BIG GIRL meds but have to take them with Benedryl because everything makes me itch like crazy. This make for a lot of sleeping. Thanks for all of your well-wishes and inquiries. I'm going to have to hoist myself up in just a minute and get the ice for my sore tummy. Hope you ALL are well with little to no pain or SE's. HUGS to all!

What a blast you all had - fuck - so sorry I missed it - was with you in spirit... although not as much spirit as you all had. Scottie.... I thought you were keeping them in check... ha ha ha!!
Hugs everyone. I have missed you, but spening time camping, in the garden and with my BF my DH if anyone is interested. Life goes on I guess

Cmbernadi: sleeping a lot is most likely the best thing for you. Rest up and heal sister.
Mcook; you had me in tears just picture the scene. So sorry I couldn't be there. I did go run two miles in your honor on Thursday.
I'm thinking of doing the Diva Dash this fall. First week in October. Want to come out here and join my team?? :-)
Tazzy; back behind the shed, eh? (Can't wait to have my own shed). ;-)0 -
Cmbernardi, take as much time as you need ... Do not rush it my dear.
0 -
Cmbernardi....glad it's over....get lots of rest and be good to yourself.
Tazzi....I tried girl but after five minutes of being all together, they were totally out of control...ha ha ha
The most amazing bunch of crazies I've had the privilege of meeting. These memories will carry me through till next year since we have decided to make it an annual event.
Hopefully next year our group will be even larger.0 -
Wow McCook Congrats-you made us all so proud! I choked up when I looked at the pics and saw 2Fried. It's weird but since I have felt so bottled up at times not being able to tell my friends and family about my BC , it was like a great way to do a shout out to the rest of the world along with my BC sisters. Thanks for wearing us all on your t-shirt- it meant a lot.
Ladies, from the pics, it looks like you had an amazing time and it sounds like you were all just what McCook needed as a finale to the run. Sounds like you could all use some relaxation time (and possibly detox time as McCook indicated lol) to recover from your trip. (Thank you iatigger for posting them) Scottie, you can't fool us-we all know you were the leader of the pack!
Cmbernardi like Juneau said, rest is best to heal. We're all thinking about you.
Juneau what is it about Tazzy and that shed. Heck she has spent the last year or more since we've known her on here, behind that shed! I SO feel like I'm missing out! lol When you get your shed, maybe we can all plan a trip to your place and Tazzy can indoctrinate us all into life behind the shed! (I picked Juneaus shed because I don't fly, but there is a possibility that someday I could drive to NJ/NY; Canada is a bit too far.)
In the pockets of those who need us.

Way to go mcook! Very proud of you. Thanks for sharing the pics ladies. Heartwarming. Looks like a lovely time was had by all. Sorry I couldn't make it. I'm in for an NYC gathering for sure! Nothing much to report on this end. Good MUGA scan so on track to get the rest of these darn herceptin treatments out of the way. Looking like I'll be done mid-October. I can see the end - finally... Other than that, just trying to keep my head above water and work and find my happy every day. Looking forward to the little guys 3rd b-day party this weekend. Hard to believe that for his b-day last year I was freshly recuperating from my BMX and sat on a chair in the yard watching the festivities go on around me. Nice to be able to be in the mix this year. What a difference a year makes - right?! Ok - back to work. Love and hugs to all!

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures!! I teared up a bit too. You are all fantastic! And I love the way everyone is rocking the post-chemo hairdo. Ha ha. I never had short hair in my life before, and really thought I'd hate it, but to my surprise it's not so bad. Sure is easy to take care of, huh?

Jennie, your comment made me figure out (again) how to change my Avatar photo. It took me awhile and made me stressed but then once I figured it out~~could not do it again I bet~~I feel good. I almost waited until an Apple appt. I have for Wed. but needed to try. I now have that same photo as my Desktop which was inadvertant and can't figure out how to change that~~oh well!
I have now passed the "found the lump" anniversary, had a left sided mammo last week, now reliving each day this week as what I was doing a year ago and will soon celebrate my diagnosis cancerversary. The day after that, July 28 I am doing a short course triathlon that I think I mentioned last week. I finally signed up so I guess that means I am committed. 400 m swim, 11 k cycle and 5 k run (walk for me). My 21 year old son who completed his 90th Olympic length triathlon Friday to raise money for a charity called "Right to Play," is my coach and says I can do it. I got my tank top which says "FUCK CANCER" in the mail last week and I will wear that for the walk. I did the bike course on Sat. AM and even though it is sunny and summer here, I was cold and that was not after a swim. Any of you get cold post treatments?
Anyway, I am going to tough it out and celebrate big time afterwards. I may well be the slowest on the course but Andy thinks I can swim fast enough not to get pulled from the pool and then I don't think it matters how long it takes for the bike/walk.
My coach also says I need to take it easy this week~~works for me!
So McCook, you did a marathon and inspired me and I am going to do this short course tri!
Tazzy can you believe this weather? My garden (and weeds) love it. We get our two chickens August 6 after the long weekend and visited them yesterday. My husband and a friend have now departed Turkey on our catamaran and our making their way west through the Greek islands as his 6 month adventure begins. I may join the boat in September for a few weeks but still finding it hard to make plans longer term.

Yes... mcook - I forgot to congratulate you - you did us proud.
marian: Isn't this weather just the best - I have been behind and in my shed lots - ha ha. What a wonderful experience your DH is embarking on.
Hugs to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Marian - good for you! You ladies are making feel like a lump on a log... I am cold all the time now. Nor sure what that is about. But inside airconditiong these days I need a sweatshirt and thank goodness for the dual thermostat in the car! My only guess is that it is our bodies still trying to rebuild. Knowing how many of our sisters struggle with hot flashes - I actually count my lucky stars that I'm running cold... ;-)

Thanks for all of the good wishes Sisters. Feeling a little bit better everyday!

Cmbernardi, glad to hear you are healing. Got some good books or some other entertainment to help pass the time?
Tazzy, I would love to hear a garden update. What are you harvesting now? We have some potted tomatoes that are producing now, and our green beans are just getting going. I am the only person on the planet who cannot grow zucchini.0 -
Garden is going really well now. As I pretty much grew everything from seed in the greenhouse seemed slow to take off. Tomatoes have lots of flowers and now some green toms - wont be long before ready. I have peas. and beans and the best spring onions ever. So therapeutic for me. weather is so hot too - which I am not complaining about.
Ramols - have you asked your docs why you are so cold? (((hugs)))
Well off to work now. Jumping in pockets if needed and sending hugs and love to you all xxx

Oh to be able to garden. The earth mother did not bestow that gift on me! But I enjoy the fruits of everyone else's labor!
Ramols I remember wearing fleece all last summer but that was during treatment. Maybe have your dr check your bloodwork. Maybe you're a little anemic?
McCook - congrats on your race. You give me inspiration for mine in October. Loved the pics!
Hugs to all and let's get that NYC trip on the books! Maybe we can do Statue of Liberty to celebrate our freedom from this f-ing disease!

Good Morning Gardeners! Beautiful day here in CA too. 67 right now, going to a high of 97. Mornings are the best. This is about the first year we don't have our own vegetable garden. We have 5 good size super markets surrounding us, it's not the same but fruits and vegetables are plentiful. Zuccini cookies are my husbands new favorites, I buy more than my share of those.
Glad everyone made it home from Iowa. Loved the photos here and on FB.
Our Doctors appts seem to be spreading out. That's good news, right?
Aruba, hope your dad is having an uneventful recovery.
Cmbernardi - lots of gentle hugs to you. Hopefully everyday is a little better.
Marian - always so hopeful and optimistic! Glad your recovery is progressing. You will be connecting with your DH soon.
I'm in on up coming pocket trips - hugs to everyone!0
