Congrats on NED Swgee!!!!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃 I am doing the happy dance with you.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and for being on our pockets Monday!!!!! The one good thing is that we have an extremely busy week and weekend so hopefully it will go quickly. We will be celebrating Christmas with my husbands side of the family this weekend so DD will have gifts to open and play with also.

I am in pockets as needed! Hugs to everyone!!!!!

please say a prayer for my DDs coach. Her mom is coming to the end of her fight. It just reminds me of how short and precious time is. Her coach is only 20 and is helping keep the family strong. The gym is organizing a food train and I just wanted to pass the website along in case any of you know a family that could use a meal train. It's www.takethemameal.com

When I was going through treatment people helped us with meals and it was a relief to not worry about cooking.

Swgee - long may you dance with NED. Dancing with you

Karen: thoughts with your DD's coach. Fucking disease.

I had a scare today - got a call from the cancer agency at work. "hey can you get some blood work done asap, need to check your kidneys'. so having blood work done on Monday I kinda freaked, then calmed and said yeah (I work in a hospital) said I'd go down straight away. Had my blood taken, asked the tech what it was for. She said checking kidney function. Lucky I had no alcohol last night Smile Went back to my office and thought 'what the fuck is this about?' called the cancer agency and asked my wonderful booking clerk... she said 'oh! we need it before we send your req in for the scans in Feb - nothing to worry about'. I did ask her that in future if they have such requests again, they let me know why cos it is worrying.

Just made me realise what a thin line we all live and to enjoy every minute - whatever shit we may face.

Believe: hope everything is ok with your swelling face.

Hugs and love to all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

KarenZ-sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts for your DD's coach and family. I'd never heard of the takethemameal program. I will try to help them, thoughtful site. I spent quite a while on it. Thanks.

Tazzy - yuk. Just what we need, surprise phone calls. Good that you asked them to be more thoughtful in the future. Somebody wasn't using their head. Glad it was just a nuisance. You deserve a drink.

Just checking in and glad to hear the good news Swgee and Tazzy...I too, would have been worried about that message Tazzy, glad you could get to the root of why blood work was needed so fast!

Momof3, with you on Monday. Worry seems to creep in tiny crevices when it comes to our loved ones. Glad you will be busy till then.

Karen, thoughts are with your DD coach and family!

Swgee, Is lymphedema in the breast similar to edema in the breast? My RO says I have some swelling (I did not really notice..just tender sometimes at lumpectomy site) and that the swelling often resolves between year 2-3 after rads. Wonder if symptoms are similar?

Aruba I have the same thing. Small fluid pockets that will dissolve on their own causes by rads. My BS recommended massage to helpovr them along.

Believe thank you for your kind thought. You don't need to jump on her train. But if you ever know of a family in need one day...

Ok enough ick talk - I am done shopping! Now the wrapping marathon commences. I hit a store my DD loves and for the one day only I was in there everything was $15 or less! That girl is making out good this year. Then I got in the car andcried because Christmas sucked. I was in the hospital and presents were not what I wanted them to be. Wrapping in the hospital is not my idea of Christmas spirit! Boy am I making it up to them this year. I'm even baking!

Juneau how is the house? Can't wait to see pics.

Hugs to all, in pockets as always!

    Hi everyone!

It has been some time since I've been here, but I needed to stop in and say hi to all of the wonderful people who have been with me over this last year and some four months. I haven't been silent because I've been sicker, but because I was without a laptop for awhile. And I had a real writer's bloc for awhile. I have actually been quite stable and feeling better,

I hope you are all doing well. In this holiday season I wish you all good things and good health in the coming year and beyond.

Scorchy I am doing well~~had my exchange last Friday and every day is a better day. Now I am mentally formulating my responses to non BC women who might inadvertently make "how lucky you are" comments.

Marianelizabeth - before BC I used to be the same way with comments. Then I learned. The other day at the gym I was drying my hair which took all of two minutes and the girl next to me with long beautiful blonde hair says "I wish that's all it took to dry mine!" Normally I would make a snarky comment about BC back but instead I smiled and silently offered a wish that she never had to have short hair for any reasons except her own. But for those who are stupid - let the comebacks fly!

Scottiee, I would definitely hibernate if a snowstorm was coming my way. Even our little bit of snow and cold was good excuse for me to kick back this last week.

My son and I fly to Toronto Christmas Eve on the red eye and then on to Barbados the next morning. I am fully preparing for worst case scenarios with the weather in the east. Thankfully I will have me son to take care of me!

Scorchy - good to see you again and yes, thanks for the group hug.

Scottie: hibernation sounds like a good thing - brr !!   We are still pretty lucky as far as snow goes.  Only a couple of inches Wednesday - forecast more for the weekend.

Hugs to everyone and have a happy weekend.

Believe, hope you still enjoying your getaway and that swelling has gone away!

I am going down to Fl next Th for a week with my dad, but this time my DH is joining me (his dad is not too far from mine) and my DD will be down to visit while we are there before recruiting in Orlando over New Year. HappyNerdy!

SCORCHY; SO Glad to SEE you HERE!!! We've missed you. (and it appears you brought Scottie out too!)

I've been reading, but not writing. Sorry ladies... feeling lazy to be honest - but I've been sending prayers and love to all!

I am hibernating Saturday. Snow heading our way and I think I might watch it fall from inside of my hot tub. :-) It'll be the first time I use it. Sunday will be spent doing NA recovery stuff. my house is all put together, I just have to hang some pictures. The pellet stove gets installed next Friday. Then inspected that next week and they come back and complete the install and we can finally USE IT! YAY. The current heating is zone heating and I'm looking forward to one temperature throughout most of the house.

So... it turns out I've been quite short tempered with my DH. I've being quite bossy and unrelenting (his words not mine) in the past 4 weeks. I'm not sure what's going on with me, but I suppose I feel like hes not fixing, cleaning doing things right; and since it's now our house I want things PERFECT. I'm such an OCD control freek. It's driving him nuts. He said I talk to him like he's a child. *sigh* another opportunity for growth and change.

momof3; my sister had melanoma in 2011. she's had two surgeries on her arm and is cancer free.

glad everyone is getting clean bill's of health and that Marianelizabeth - you are recovering well.

Karen; enjoy you christmas season, but don't eat too many cookies. A minute on the lips-a lifetime on the hips!

Love you all! (photos to come in the next two weeks)

thanks everyone for being in my pockets today. Unfortunately they found pre-cancerous cells in both biopsies and the one did not have clear margins so DD will need to have a third biopsy on the same spot to try to get all of it. We all understand about getting clean margins. She will also need to be inactive for 6 weeks after this biopsy and we have to decide if we have them do the surgery in the office or go to a general surgeon. She wants it done in the office since she knows them all well, but I am wondering if we should goto a surgeon since the look may be better. We have to wait until she heals more so at least we have a few weeks to decide. She also found out today she got a part in the school musical so she is worried about practicing since there will be lots of dancing in the musical. At least she had some good news today to offset the bad. I also know that it could have been worse news also. Let's just hope they get it all the next time and that neither grow back again!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent!!!!! I am trying to be strong in front of her and it helps to be able to vent here!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well and just busy getting ready for all the holidays!!!!

    HUGS to everyone!!!!!

Momof3 - ah, not exactly what we were hoping to hear but next time they will get it all. It sounds like she has a positive attitude. Congrats on her part in her school musical! You will make the right decision for the location of her next surgery. Did you say where the mole is? Poor baby, that's good for extra Christmas gifts and spoiling.

Really quiet here, good that everyone is busy. My Doctors appts are sticking up for January. Two are on the same day, within a half hour of eAch other and at different locations. Yuk, too late to call tonight, I will reschedule one of them in the morning. I'm so hoping I will be put on a one year schedule, like many of you. Just the stress of the upcoming appts is no fun. Knowing you will all come along, makes it bearable.

Scorchy - good to hear from you. It's been too long.

    Hugs to all!

thanks for all the support! My DD pediatrician is away until next week and I really trust him and want to get his opinion on everything so we will have to wait to talk with him before we make any choices. Now on to finish getting ready for Christmas. At least the week should go by quickly.

    Hugs to everyone!!!!!!
