I only have a minute but thought you'd enjoy this...maybe as much as Aruba's funny.
At 3:30 today my sons girlfriend called me back. I called her two days ago. She's having a surprise bday dinner party for my step son who is 37 today. Also, needed their address since they just moved. We chatted and I asked if I could bring anything. (Ofcourse I've been baking cookies for days) she said no and then had my grandson call me back about an hour later to ask if we'd mind bringing a carrot cake for 25 and a big candle. I'd say kids but she's 53 (yep, a cougar). My DH is out now looking for the cake now...
Hugs to all and Have a good evening!
Aruba, Fla is a great place to go. In the 80's, right? Enjoy.

After watching all season I'm going to miss the Voice finale. Can someone let me know who wins?

Scottiee, Come on down!! I almost got a gettogher goin with Iatigger, but she will be across state and I am not down long enough.....I still want to meet everyone!!
LOL, Believe, what, you can't concoct a carrot cake for 25 people for dinner the same day you are asked at 4:30 PM?? Wow, to that request..just wow. Can't wait to hear if DH found it that fast.
0 -
Believe.....I'll let you know as I've been watching all season....any guesses as to who will win??????

Scottie - I'm hoping Tessanne but I rarely get it right. After 7 here and haven't been served dinner yet. My cookies are a hit but dinner first would have worked. Maybe we will eat by Christmas. Can't believe we agreed to come back on Wednesday. I must learn how to cook a turkey!
Aruba - DH came up with a white sheet cake but he was able to have Scott's name written on it. He was told carrot cake has to be ordered a day earlier.

Believe......yeah ...she won!!!!!! She was my pick too.
If you teach me how to bake believe! I'll teach you how to cook a turkey....

good evening my Lovelies! Hope all is well with everyone.
Scorchy- we've missed the group hugs!
Momof3- in yours and your DD's pocket!
Believe- did I read carrot cake? Only my favorite cake ever (minus coconut). Have you ever tried making it with baby food? I know it sounds gross but it keeps it so moist.
Well the evil bitch left on Friday thank goodness. She left without even saying or emailing a goodbye to the staff. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Did I care no just unprofessional. The last week she was there she treated me like shit anyways. Ignoring me and making sure she did everything she could to make me try to look dumb, that didn't happen.
Taylor had her first band concert of the year tonight they sounded great and she looked beautiful! But I am biased. I will attach a photo at the end.
All my Christmas shopping is done just have to wrap it all, that's a chore. Plus I stayed under budget Whohoo! We are having Christmas Saturday night at my moms house and our theme is soups and pjs! I can't wait. It's one big party with food and drinks.
Well it's off to bed for me love you all!!

Scottie - you are on! My place or yours ?Yeah about Tessanne. I'm getting better at this. :-)

Chrisrenee - your daughter is beautiful
Momof3 - sounds like a good plan to talk with her pediatrician for direction
Believe and Scottie - can I be the taste tester?
0 -
ah where's the freaking SPOILER ALERT for those of us who RECORD THINGS! Thanks ladies! I guess you just saved be 2 hours of my life. ARGH!
Momof3: you have a great attitude and tons of love to give her. She'll get through this.
Chrisrenee; soup and pjs - I'm IN! (Your daughter is gorgeous!)
ok so these last couple of days I've moved from lazy to busy as all heck! No time for posting... I've been too busy shoveling again! ARGH! But I have a routine now... shovel the driveway; strip down out of my sweaty/wet clothes upon entering the house and arrive naked, at my hot tub and climb in... ahhhhh... bliss!
love to all....

Believe.....I have to say CA because it's friggin freezing here in Toronto...hahaha
Chrisrenee.....I agree with everyone, Taylor is beautiful....(just like her mother....❤️)

Juneau that is when the hot tub is the best ... But now I have the image of you stripping off your clothes ... NO!
0 -
carrot cake - the best.
chrisrenee - beautiful daughter and as other said - just like her Mum.
Juneau: that's one way to stop the DH whining
0 -
Juneau - bright side to the shoveling is that it sounds like a work out to me, you can skip the gym...and it ends better! Sorry, I couldn't wait for results on the Voice. I put in the request for the winner. I still watched the show when I got home, only less the stress and anticipation. For those who watched...I must be old, I don't get Lady GaGa at all!
Websister, of course you can be the tester! I think CA was a good call. Let me know when you are all coming.
Chrisrenne - Taylor is adorable! Love those green eyes.
Update, we survived dinner last night but trying to come up with a great excuse not to go for Christmas. That was awful, except that I got to visit with my grandson. I was so boring, I even gave him his Christmas present. It was only 8 days early.

Believe... LOL! You survived cancer - surely you could make it through one more dinner there!

Morning ladies - just wanted to pop in real fast and say hello. Doing pretty well here these days. Managing to find a bit more happy and enjoying my occasional visits with the social worker. Got some new tools in my toolkit these days now to battle that anxiety. And next month I'm going to join their support group for young women with early stage BC. We'll see... Anyway - hope you're all doing well and managing to find some holiday cheer. Sending big hugs to all!

Just popping in to say hello. I'm happy to see from my "quick read" that everyone seems to be doing pretty good.Nice to have the much needed group hug from Scorchy! Been SO busy with dad, dogs, house painting and repairs, all issues resolved but which seemed to pop up one after the other. Now company parties, decorating, shopping and getting ready for the holidays are making me crazy. Oh well it's a good crazy compared to last year at this time so I'll take it. If I am not on for a bit, I hope and pray you all have a wonderful holiday season; know that you are all continually in my thoughts. Take care.

It was great to see Scorchy again and for any who don't get her blog automatically by email she wrote a good post this week~~http://thesarcasticboob.com/2013/12/19/the-whole-chronic-thing/ You will have to copy paste though I did try to upload the link~~note the question mark.
As for me I got an early Christmas gift. A good friend, actually one of the guys currently crewing on our boat across the Atlantic, sent in a nomination before he left, to a group called Cowgirls VS Cancer for a yoga/horse retreat in Montana in late May. Lo and behold but I was one of the 8 selected for the 2014 program and got an email on Wed night from Big Sky Yoga Retreats saying so.
I was very excited not to mention moved by the support (he asked two other friends to be required references) then read the fine print and it said US citizens only. But via ham radio from the boat came the message that he sent an email asking about me being a Canadian and they said no problem! So it was up and down but finally last night up!
Snow in Vancouver today and this is when most of the rest of the country laughs as Vancouver does not do well with snow as we have it so rarely. I was supposed to meet 3 other BC buddies for lunch but we will see!
Oh and more good news~~we got our first 3 eggs yesterday from our chickens though sadly one of them turned into a rooster on Wed. early AM and I hoped it was a bad dream when I heard him but no. He has the weekend to carry on sowing his wild oats then off he goes... Roosters are not allowed in the city. But our remaining two are surprising us with a laying start in cold and snow!

Ramols, glad you are getting along better ... Enjoy the holidays with your family ... That should be good medicine. Hugs.

Ramols - so happy to read that you are doing better - tools are good! I hope that you do join that support group in the New Year, I was in one for a slightly older crowd here from September through December and it did me a world of good.
MarianElizabeth - congratulations on winning that getaway - how wonderful of that friend to do that for you, so glad the fine print won't prevent you claiming your prize. Thanks for providing the link to Scorchy's latest blog, I have been reading along but hadn't seen this one
Scorchy - neglected to thank you for the group hug earlier - thank you!
2Fried - you sound very busy, glad things are resolved; enjoy your celebrations
I was out earlier today, hopefully gathering in the last of my food items required for Christmas week, stores and roads were very busy, nice to be home and relaxing for a bit - apparently the grandchildren are getting pretty excited about Christmas - we have lots of pristine snow for them to play in!
Take care everyone

I guess I belong in this forum also as I finished treatment this year and as of now, I'm a survivor! Just hate to always be looking over my shoulder waiting for the shoe to fall! My MO did only bloodwork and mammo on unaffected breast and since he had me remove my port, I have to assume that he thinks I'm all clear, at least for now! I just can't convince myself! Asked for scans which he said were unnecessary! Only exposing me to stuff I don't need as he sees no reason at the moment!
Just don't know how to deal with the little pains that are always showing up.

Welcome Nettie. Yes, you've found the right spot. An incredible assortment of survivors here. I think we all went through a little separation anxiety with our doctors and we still get phantom pains. Just little reminders, we hope. Some of our girls have been put on a yearly visit schedule. I'm hoping I will be one of them in January when I go back for blood work etc. I think collectively we have decided keeping busy is the best medicine which is easiest this time of year.
Marian - congratulations on your trip. Very excited for you.
Websister - yes, grandchildren make the holidays better!
Aruba - you must be packing up. Extra hugs to your dad from all of us. Enjoy that Florida sunshine.
2Fried - always enjoy your posts, starting with your very descriptive name. You always make me smile.
My Dads coming over today. He has a new car to show off. I'm hoping my new Christmas table cloth with lots of food makes him not notice we skipped a tree this year.
Ramols - keep enjoying that Happy!
Juneau - you are always right but we decided to have everyone over for Christmas breakfast and then take everyone to a movie. They can then go home and play with their toys and we can too :-)
Make it a great day! Hugs to everyone!

Yes, hugs to all, I don't know what I would have done without this group to ask questions or share dismay or talk when my DH or DS needed a break or didn't understand why I was so stressed.
17 mos out from chemo (Still struggling with hormone therapy) and my blood tests were good. Do you all have blood tests every 6 mos? That's the only follow up my MO does. My sister (9 yrs ago) hers did not do that, or anything. She is doing great BTW.

lisa2012, I have blood tests every 3 months, and breast exam. I think the PR- has something to do with the testing along with the Tamoxifen.

Nettie - welcome - sucks you have to be here but you really have landed in the most softest kindest place of all.
I want to wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas and the best New year. Me and DH are off to Vegas on Christmas morning - back on Sunday. I am working Monday and Tuesday - although finish at 12 on Tues. And out both nights. We're actually going to see the new Hobbit movie on Tuesday.
I love you all, I am so grateful we found each other. Take care everyone, love you xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Believe, I gave up trees long ago. My son was about 9, he didn't care.
The cat kept eating the icecicles off the tree. Its a pagan tradition any how.

can someone tell me how they come to the NED statement. I mean how do you know?
0 -
Scottie........been looking for you .....hope I have the right Scottie....could not PM....limited use..LOL...won't say why....
If this is my Scottie from STFU thread, could you post for me and let me know your ok.....thanks girlfriend...
0 -
yes this is your Scottiee ... I am her friend ... She hasn't been on for a couple of days and I think that is because she has no power ... Ice storm.

Nettie - NED stands for no evidence of disease. You've probably figured that out. Most of our Doctors don't seem to want to say we are cured. In my instance anyway, the closest thing I could get was NED. I saw it on my chart and asked what that stood for.
