Lucy, of course I needed my wine! If stuck inside, the stress required it and I did not anticipate the storm!
Ducky, I live about 2 miles from where FK used to live, in scenic central NJ also known as dead on where hurricane Sandy hit 2 years ago! Matter of fact, major portions of town are being ripped apart and lots of talk of the plans for redevelopment. But it is close enough to get to the shore easy but far enough not to pay big the big bucks! warmer today and black ice is mostly gone
after my diagnosis I did change up my diet and added lots more veggies and such but life is not worth living with out my nightly glass of wine!

Lucy, I really enjoy a glass of wine once in awhile. Everything I read said I shouldn't have wine with a triple negative diagnosis. When I asked my MO he said it won't hurt once in awhile. Sooooo - I listened. We must listen to our doctors ya know - at least when it's convenient!! I don't drink too often, but occasionally I do indulge.

PTO...........My primary home is in Pa......a suburb outside of Philly.
My home at the shore isin Cape May Beach, 6 miles from Cape May,and 11 miles from North Wildwood......with Wildwood Crest at the other end.....so we have several choices......the furtherest beach is 11 miles, the closest 5 miles........
I have a built in pool, so we don't have to go to the beach if we don't want to, but when we do, we leave before the crazies arrive.........
No a wine drinker.........my one daughter enjoys a glass of wine, but when I drink it I light up like a xmas tree........LOL.....and my head feels like it is going to explode....My daughter says "Mom maybe your allergic to it".....who knows....just can't drink it.
I am more of a Kauhula type of person.........love it with cream..........I also like the Seagrams Wine Coolers........not a whole bottle, but a small glass.........
And forget beer...........no way...............

Ducky, I grew up in PA, half way between Allentown and Philly but moved to NYC for college, NJ was a move to buy a house and have a place to park my car where it was not trashed~~really!
I like my area of NJ as if I feel the urge to hit NYC....or the beach... both are convenient

PTS, I was born and raised in Rockaway Beach, NY. Moved to CA when I started HS. My dad was born in Pillow, PA and grew up in Elizabethville, PA. I am an east coast girl at heart. I still have relatives in PA, NY and Florida. I hope to get back there someday.

hmmm, never heard of Pillow Pa, then again PA is full of interesting town names but have heard of Elizabethville I think

Pillow is a very small town. It is in Dauphin County - just like Elizabethville. I loved going to visit my Grandparents there as a kid. Such good memories. She made the best Pennsylvania Dutch food. I remember she creamed everything in those days - creamed corn, creamed spinach. I get hungry just thinking about it.

oh god, Pa Dutch food is so good and so bad! In my family I helped to introduce my sisters boston family to Pa treats~~
Philly cheese steaks were a huge hit
Lancaster Ham and bacon were part of every years holiday
then again Taylor Ham and cheese sandwiches and Pa mac and cheese is so.....so so bad for us
however the veggies do tend to be over cooked~~

Oh boy....I remember the ham and cheese too.
We would also eat something called ring bologna.
We would always buy a bunch of it to eat on our trip home.
It IS really bad for you. I find it odd that they all lived to be in their 90's though.
I ate pretty well in my adult years and still got all these diseases.

Back then no one ate processed foods with all the shit they throw in so it can stay on the shelves for years...........
Nothing like a Philly cheese steak....and our Philly Cream Cheese cannot be beat....we also have the best Hoagies, soft pretzels and Tastykakes.........Yum.......all not good for you.........LOL
My father in law ate everything, and so did my MIL, he lived to be 103 and she was 96......when we went crabbing in Maryland for "blue claws" if some of the crab bodies were smaller......he would eat the shell too.....
Now tell me that isn't roto rooter for the digestive system.........but everything they ate was fresh.....everything......no microwave........all good food.........and guess what..........when she fried her meatballs for gravy........she used "lard"...........but eveerything elese was olive oil...........
I think yes.......we did this to ourselves.......imagine what this newer generation is going to deal with......fast food, processed food, junk food,.......at least we were spared a little of that...........well I was cause I'm a lot older, but my 45 plus kids never got fast food...................guess why...........with 6 kids we couldn't afford it.......LOL..........

Ducky, I think you're right. I wonder if it's the microwave??? Also the processed food. I ate a lot of cold cuts when I was a kid too.
My husbands family fried everything in lard too. All his siblings are very health and in their 70's and 80's - no major medical problems.

I agree with that.........my FIL died taking one Valium to control his blood pressure.....can you imagine at 103......that is unheard of.........and my poor husband died at 57......go figure.......

Hope they get Stella's dosage worked out soon.
I ate better foods than my relatives, exercised more, never smoked, didn't drink much.... And still was diagnosed with BC at 49. Who knows how long it was there because it made it to my nodes.

I never smoked, only had alcohol occasionally, and ate pretty well as an adult. My luck must be pretty bad in that case. My luck drew three different diseases. I would really rather blame it on the microwave. Or, messed up DNA!! I'd hate to think my luck is that bad!! haha
PTS, You got me thinking about Pillow, PA and I went on their historical website. Imagine my surprise when I came across the same picture I have in my home. It's a picture of the Pillow band. My Grandfather is in the picture!! I couldn't believe my eyes! I have more old pictures I bet they would love to have.
