Hi ndgirl, I had to look up the news story about the albino Kangaroo. It is in Canberra, quite some distance from here. I have seen one, in the zoo, a long time ago.

That was quite an effort, to get 120 Christmas shoe boxes done!

I bathed Dex after the big walk this morning. He wasn't happy about being groomed and took a dive off the table while I was wielding the clippers. He has one very short clipper mark down one side. I tried to balance it up, but he was less than cooperative, so I have let him go for the moment, and may have another shot later. He looks a bit rough and ready, like nobody loves him! M x

bobo, I totally understand the bosses take the credit thing.... my DD's DLLP used to work for Safeway Corporate. She is an amazingly intelligent woman and so many times had her projects & ideas presented by her bosses as their own. She finally had enough after changing departments a couple time, and since they decided to have a baby became a stay at home mom with my DGD#4. She is now consulting and doing great.

Zils, are you OK after the tornadoes? The devastation is so sad. I can't imagine coming back to find rubble where your house once stood. Mother Nature is a force no one can combat. My heart goes out to those in the Philippines also. I was there in 1999 with the Habitat for Humanity Jimmy Carter Work Project. They are such kind and welcoming people, it is so sad to see them suffer.

gB, how are you getting on?

I am sorry to hear your family has been touched by the thieving bosses too!

Is our Zills ok? I didn't know the tornadoes were nearby?

I have seen the devastation in the Phillippines on the news. I've been there too gB, and like so many Asian countries, the people are so gentle, but suffer terribly from Mother Nature's wrath.

Hoping everyone has been having a warm and cozy weekend. It is so weird, to be sitting in short sleeves with all the doors open at almost 6pm, while thinking about some of you having snow on the ground!

    Take care M x

Albino kangaroos! And 120 surprise boxes! Wow, ND, you are amazing. Go albino kangaroo go!

You guys, I just have to suck it up regarding my bosses. Or look for another job within the college sooner. Don't have time to do that right now. My boss has said he's just marking time -- for ten more years! -- until he retires. When I came on the scene, with all of these big projects, it gave him an opportunity. Has nothing to do with me. I am having a hard time making ends meet, though, since they don't pay me properly or on time for two of the three jobs.

Laughing at the description of Dex and the clipper accident! Glad it didn't get his skin. Want to see a picture of his manky haircut! He is anything but unloved.

Time to jump on yet another school run! In the bag for Z's daily 8 a.m. rads appt. Spoiling for a fight!

I'm fine. Tornados in western ky. Boy didn't throw up. Just a fever for 24 hours and whiny. Don't think it was the same as the baby.

M wins the prize. Turned over to 100 pages.

GrammaB. I walk and take a b complex vitamin. That seems to help my mood. Also playing music while I work helps. Can you set the timer and just do an hour? I'm sure bc and the season change is part of it.

    Good morning Granwe!

Our parish goal is to send a shoebox for each child in the school so that's 87. Also collect pjs, donate to food bank and adopt a family. I think the older kids go to the nursing home. The boy picked out five hot wheels to send.

Going home to walk, nap, work on the computer and do laundry before pick up kids. Need to decide about dinner.

    Have a good day!

I did try to take a Dex photo for you, but the buzz accident really doesn't show up too well. I am going to try to repair him this morning.

Gosh Zills, you sound to be as busy as our Bobo. I take an Executive B vitamin too. It is very good for the mood, and the anxiety levels.

Spookiesmom, that Turkey is just brilliant. I love it! I will show that to Bec, she loves anything Scottish.

Well, another gorgeous day here. Rites, shower and walk with Dex this morning! Hugs to all M x

I can have a tantrum too when hungry. Ask DH. Is she going thru a growth spurt?

Meatballs tonight were yucky. Baby thought so too. And horrors we're out of applesauce!

Going to the pillow palace as soon as DH gets home.

Bobo has beer. I have a cup of tea with biscotti or McVitties (Irish cookies). M do Australians take their tea with milk like Irish do?

Hi Zills, I hope you are in the Pillow Palace right now with McVitties and tea. I drink my tea either way, mostly without milk because I don't have dairy, but a splash of soy or almond milk is fine for me. I am rarely a coffee drinker, but have a great coffee machine, and get my coffee from a supplier in Sydney that everyone here seems to love. Australia has gone nuts for coffee over the past few years, there are cafe's on every corner now.

I love English Breakfast tea, or Twinings Yunnan, there is a new black tea called Australian Breakfast that I have mostly now.

I have McV's digestive in the pantry for Bec coming. she loves them! My Mother was never without McV's biscuits. I love a lot of the British foods and candy. Do you know Fry's Chocolate?

Ooh! Z, I can make applesauce in the Vitamix. Organic apples (peel still on, but cored) cut in quarters -- push them down with that tamper thing, and, voila! Raw organic applesauce! Good for those banged-up apples.

WOW!! We have 100 pages!!! woohoo!!!!

Have lots of catch up to do!

M, we had shortsleeve weather here today.. I should have called in sick lol. It's still really mild out even though the sun has gone down. Cold front coming in tho :(

Vitamix talk.. hey M... have you used your vitamix yet? I notice you've been quiet about the air fryer too.

Unfortunately, I am not as surprised about the boss stealing ideas, although I am sad it has happened.. but even sadder to hear you are not getting paid.. that is just unacceptable!

I want to see the manky Dex cut too!

Spookiesmom, I am loving the turkey!! I especially love that the bagpipes match the kilt!

I heard about the tornados, I didn't realize KY was involved.. Illinois had like 40 of them... that is insane!

I am posting as I go to the preceding page.. but here is a pic of the Kangaroo... I know M won't approve, but she is cute!! They are calling her Renee.

Bobogirl, you just have to keep reminding yourself of what you posted, regardless of who is taking credit for it, the projects are having a direct impact on the learning and at least YOU know that you are the one that accomplished it.

Ndgirl, that has to feel so rewarding, how long did it take you guys to get that many done? Seems like a large task.

Did we get an explanation on the football party? Are you a football fan Bobogirl? I work with a bunch of sports fanatics, they eat and sleep all sports. Joe luckily does not watch unless it's a championship game, but he does love that UFC crap. I hate it.

Is Edward a cat? I recall you mentioning Miquel before and of course the famous Bobo.. but I don't remember Edward. How many pets do you have?

GB, I've been feeling the same for a few weeks now, lethargic/disinterested. I had contributed it into the end of treatment, and then to the cold, but really have no idea what it is. I don't think in my case its depression, at least I hope not. Regardless, you will kick yourself if you miss the xmas trade!

I love raking and it's good exercise. For me, I have to be entertained to exercise so at least by doing that I get exercise. I wish I could find somebody to go walking with me... Zils, maybe you can lend me your kittens.. that would get me going :)

Zils, how is your skin holding up? From the sounds of it you still seem to have lots of energy, that is so good to hear!!!

Wren, I think the recyling efforts you have are fantastic. We have recycling pickup and yard waste bi-weekly as well on alternating weeks, but we don't do that kitchen scraps, which really would be a great thing. I love that the commercial businesses are involved as well... I can't say they are here at all. Heck, my office does no recycling whatsoever, we waste so much paper it is disgusting.

    Pasta on the coffee table.

Hey ladies, I have been out this afternoon trying to clean all the outdoor eating area, and tidying up my veggies. I walked around the side of the house and F'ing oak leaves everywhere. So that now makes about 55 huge garden bags I have filled and emptied. We have green waste and recycling bi-weekly too and normal garbage once a week. I got a nasty note and my green waste left, for accidentally having a plastic bag in my green waste a few weeks ago. Big slap on the wrist! They are very anal about making sure everything is separated properly. I used to laugh about it in the city. Thy gave us all these different big plastic bins, abut a Current Affairs show exposed the council dumps putting everything into land fill. Apparently it costs the council to dump the recycle stuff, so they charged the homeowners and then just put it in with everything else. They are all crooks!!!

I haven't mentioned the Air Fryer because I am pretty well making much the same stuff in it. I will look for some new recipes, but in the Summer here, I usually just eat salads and maybe fish, or chicken. It is too hot for much else. I am using the Vitamix every morning for my smoothie. I love it! It was worth the money just for the self cleaning function alone. I haven't yet done any real recipes yet. Will be making my own Almond, Brazil and Macadamia nut butter when I remember to buy the nuts!

That was the same photo I saw of the Albino Roo, it is pretty cute. I don't have a problem with them, just so long as they stay away from the road when I am driving.

Bobo, McVities Digestives are dairy free, but it says on the box they are made in a facility where there are milk products.

I have made an even worse mess of Dex today. I have no idea what went wrong. His fur seems to be a lot finer than the last time I groomed him and it turned out really well. Trying to get Colin to post photos is like pulling teeth at the moment. He is busy drawing CAD boat plans for someone and is racing tonight, not to mention his radio control boat that is racing next Saturday. Did I mention that he has managed to fit right in here? Not complaining, just can't keep up with him!

I have to get out and take some photos of him tonight, since I napped through the winning race last week!

    I'll check back later...M x

When the Native Americans were being massacred and driven off their land, there was a group who believed that if they prayed enough in the right way, times would change and they would get their land back and be able to return to the old ways. One of the signs for this would be the appearance of a white buffalo.

GB, I had a rather long period of not wanting to much of anything. It wasn't depression, just disinterest in doing anything. Maybe it's because of the whirlwind from diagnosis to surgery, then a letdown.

Boris arrived last night. He is very congested, but his eyes look almost normal (they were so infected we worried he might lose his sight). He is quite a gentleman. I have fleece in a chair in my study next to my computer. He is curled up on that asleep. He's cute padding the fleece with a little corner in his mouth. We had a black cat years ago named Ringo who would suck a piece of my daughter's nightgown while he padded. We lost him because he was on the roof of our car until we slowed for a stop light. As soon as we stopped, he ran down the street as fast as he could and we couldn't find him. A year later DH brought home a big black cat and said he thought it might be Ringo. Sure enough, he sucked DD's nightgown and padded. The next day DH took him back where he found him so he could return to his home.

I love my Boris update! I wish you could keep him. I love that he is a gentleman.

Excellent update from idesim. Hmm. Football is huge here. I am not a football fan. But when the college team plays, the whole town goes bonkers. If they lose, the whole town is sad. Our princess cannot go to the games, it is too dangerous for her, we could not get out easily if we needed to. So I throw her football parties at home on game days, with special theme-based snacks.

Yep, Edward is a cat. He is special needs. The vet found him as a kitten sitting in a puddle, not smart enough to get out. He almost died three times while I was nursing him. Now he is gigantic! He's one of those kitties with a low-slung belly. He only knows his name.

We have two others: Miguel, another rescue, and Jane Golden -- another rescue. She was found on 58th Street. DLLP was waiting for a trolley, and J Golden just walked up to her, as if to say, I am ready to be taken home now. I am tired of 58th Street. And then we have Bobo.

Almost time for the school run! Z has rads in ten minutes. I'm in the bag! Ariom, why can you not just leave the leaves there? :) I want to get some McVitties. Can't wait to see Dex's increasingly botched haircut!

Oh no! You're going to sit in the hospital all day! I know you want to be there for your second mom. But that can't be good for you!

Will you keep us informed? Working from home today. Up against a terrible deadline. But instead of plowing through, I am making hospital and home lists for sx. Yesterday worked on Christmas cards, plus ordered additional ones, and they are already made and ready to be picked up at Target! Worried about getting all of the addresses together... everybody seems to move so much!

DLLP good for nothing these days. Leaves clean clothes on the floor without folding, etc. So sick of it. I need her to step up now and show me she's going to handle things, but she is not.

Edward and Bobo sitting here with me while I am working! They are certainly going to handle things.

loving all the animal stories! Wren when you mentioned cats sucking while padding, when kept our grandsons 2 little kitties (McCain and Obama) one would suck the others ear while padding! We thought that was a hoot! they would lay in bed with us and the sucking was loud! so funny. Yes, I have heard that about the arrival of a white buffalo too.

Zills, sounds like you have done quite a bit already, but I know with little kids how house work is never done, well heck even without kids it never gets done or at least to stay in our house.

Idesim, it did not take very long to pack them, maybe 2 hours, there was lots of help. We pack according to gender and age, for instance age 5-9 girl box and then someone goes around the tables full of merchandise and fills them accordingly. The kids that age feel very important when they are asked "now what would you like if you were to receive this box". I think it is good to put an emphasis on giving to our kids and adults as well. Our county hope to get at least 300 boxes and our little parish produces almost a third of that amount every year!

Grammab, I feel that crummy way alot too, so much I need to get done and I just cant bring myself to do it at time, hope you can get back you" get up and go" soon.

ldesim, Wren, and ndgirl, I have dealt with depression and still take Welbutrin, this does feel different. I think you are right it is a combination of all the things going on so fast and then all of a sudden being done, and sort of left to my own resources. The time change, the weather change, and the fact that Nov is always hard for me due to DH"s death are all likely causes. I really want to get over this though because as you said ldesim, this is the season to be active on ebay and I really need to do it!!

Yesterday, I was making an effort to get busy when I got an email from a friend who was afraid I was really sick as my ebay store items had dropped to 22. I was in shock as I know I have 42 items right now with many more ready to list. I list through a 3rd party service and had not signed in in several weeks. My token to allow them to communicate with ebay had expired so any relists didn't show on ebay. :((( Spent the afternoon trying to get them all relisted and still have a few to do today. I had wondered why my sales slowed down, but really didn't feel like looking into any reason for it. Shame on me!!

Wren, glad to hear Boris is on the mend and will have his sight. What an amazing story about Ringo! Yes, I've read the white buffalo is a very magical and spiritual animal to the Native Americans.

When my kids were little we had several cats. One gray tabby claimed my DD (about 8 at the time) as his own. Every night he would curl up beside her and suck her ear lob and pad her shoulder to go to sleep. If we tried to shut him out of her room he howled and howled. He never broke her skin but her little lob would be pink when he finally fell off to sleep.

Zills, sorry you have to wait for the rads. And will have to wait again later w/second mom.

(((bobo))) I am so hoping that when the time comes DLLP will step up and do for you. Maybe she just thinks right now you can still keep on doing everything as normal.

    Need to get busy working!

    Hugs!

Morning all, big day today! I am up early this morning, I have the gardeners coming to help me do some edging with my beautiful tumbled river rocks. I have to go pick up one of Colin's carers who is having a rough time with a back injury, and has ended up in a wheelchair herself. Her Husband can get her to the Doctor, but has to go to work, so I will pick her up and take her home.

Zills, you are amazing! I thought everyone got really tired and exhausted with Rads! You are a dynamo getting all that done. I hope the waiting room clears and you can have a snooze.

Sorry to hear you can't make it to your 2nd Mom, right now, but she'll understand.

Wren, what a lovely story about Ringo and your Husband bringing him home for the night. Boris sounds like he is settling in with you!

I saw a movie that had the story of the White buffalo!

ndgirl, amazing that your Parish does such a large portion of what's needed in your county. Where do the contents come from? Is it all donated, or do you fund raise and buy everything?

I am relating to you talking about this "Cant be bothered" thing. I have never been a procrastinator, but I have this room full of stuff to Ebay, or indeed just get rid of, but I just cannot get myself into the mood to do it, I can go in there, ready to start, but end up just walking out again! It isn't like me at all.

Bobo, I am so sorry that you are having these annoying issues with DLLP. I hope it can be resolved without a fight before you go into Hospital. We don't need a stressed Bobo after surgery!

You are so good with all your arrangements. Most of my friends, including me, stopped doing Christmas cards many years ago. They did a big push about the waste of paper and such, so a lot of us stopped sending cards and just donated the money we'd have spent to local charities. I a wondering if I will start again this year now we are in a different area. I will need to see if I get sent any from the locals I have made friends with.

Everyone has just arrived, so I will take off now......catch you later M x

What? No Christmas cards because of waste of paper?? But... I like Christmas cards! And people like to have a picture of the children! Don't you like to open up Christmas cards? Can't we shred them and compost them or something? Yeesh. Can someone rally to my side here? :) Idesim?

You guys are killing me! No Christmas cards... no Christmas music on the radio... and I have a friend here who gets no tree! She has children my age! They decorate a pole in their house -- a weight-bearing post. She says she does not want to kill a tree. I said: But what about those Christmas trees that are actually just the top off of a tree? But she wouldn't hear of it.

Still up against a deadline. Love the ear sucking kitty stories! We have a kitty who washes our hair while we are sleeping. Next morning: fancy hairdo!

Home again, home again jiggety jig. I'm so tired I could cry. Chest tight from those chairs. Waiting room was busy. Glad I went. Meant a lot to both of them. I wouldn't want to sit there by myself but I'm never alone. You guys are always in the bag!

Fazolis (spaghetti take out) for dinner. Too tired to eat.

Boy on couch watching tv. Had a blow out at school. "A bomb went off in my underwear." The teacher said they were not salvageable. Says his belly hurts. Hope it's not the stomach virus. I was hoping we had avoided it.

Baby playing with her "treasures" in an old wipe box. DH working, hopefully not too late.

Going to rethink my errands for rest of week. Have JS tomorrow after rads so that should help.

Waiting on the bedclothes to dry so I can climb into my pillow palace. Cup of tea sounds good. No McVitties. Teddy Grahams instead.

Hang in there Bobo. You too GrammaB.

Wren, I love that little tidbit about the Native Americans. I knew they held the buffalo in high regard, but I had never heard of a white one.. that was lovely.

M, it's enough they didn't take it.. was the nasty note really necessary?? Most of my leaves is from neighbor trees as well, so I do understand the frustration. I am chuckling over poor Dex, does he go running when the clippers come out? As always, I am in awe of Colin and what he manages to do.

I've never had a cat that sucked.. knit for sure, but never sucked. My current big boy Harley used to groom me while I slept when he was a kitten, I would wake up with the hair on top of my head all stiff. I'm so glad you got Boris settled in and he seems to be adjusting with no problem.

I am remembering now you mentioning Edward.. I recall your story of the puddle sitting lol. Jane Golden is a new one, funny how she knew to approach DLLP. Speaking of DLLP, what are we going to do with her??? One day she is making a stunning broccoli soup and the next she is leaving clothing all around! She needs to step up, we cannot have you stressing out or running yourself ragged! Funny, I have many times thought how much easier life would be to have a female partner as it is challenging to live with men at times as they are from another planet. Now I am seeing that this would not be the case at all :)

Zils, for the time being, just be content with sweeping the floor... nobody is planning on eating off it, give yourself a break. I hope all is well with your 2nd mom, I hope the surgery isn't too serious.

Bobogirl, I believe in Xmas cards! I love that I can see the children of my friends as sometimes many months have gone by since I've seen them and kids change so fast! I also love the look of xmas cards taped all around the doorway, it reminds me of all the wonderful people in my life. F waste of paper! I don't throw them out.. packrat that I am... I just store them away.. not like there is a ton after all. Did we make the deadline today? Stop goofing off :)

Ndgirl, I think the whole box scenario is such a wonderful thing, what a lovely thing to be a part of.

GrammaB, how did you do today with the store? I used to do it with candles and whatnot and it is a lot of work, that I know!

    So the gener
