Tornado sightings warnings and touch downs all over Pinellas. Steady rain, not a lot of wind. Gonna be a looooong summer. Roof leaking in usual spots. Ugh!

It's Tropical Storm Andrea bothering us right now. Supposed to cross us then go all the way up the East coast, raining all the way. Get your umbrella out too!

That must be the crap they are threatening us with tomorrow night.... God forbid we have a nice weekend.  Thanks for the weather update!!! I hope you guys aren't bothered with tornados!!! At least roof leaking you have some control over, tornados are nasty business.

Poor Granwe, you must be a bit lost without the GS.  Granwe 1 Dustbunnies 0

Wrestling in a chinese restaurant?? What the heck??

I trust you'll find exactly what to do with the coconut shells.. and yes, that will give you an excuse to throw a Hawaiian Party.. just well us what day to be there :)  How about this... you can put foobs in them, either in two shells as a protective covering, or just one shell as a display case.   I think you should make a grass skirt and take Colin's suggestion and give him a little belly dance!!

The coconut ice confection sounds sooooo good... but mostly I am laughing at you spraying Colin down!!!  What a sight that must be  :)

Morning All. Would you believe it is just getting light at 7.15am. Colin's morning girl, (sounds weird) asked if she could come early this morning to get him up as she has another job to go to. We said, "sure", but here I am sitting at the computer, and I am still tired. I can see me having a "Nanna Nap" later today.

I am not likeing the sound of this storm, are you girls OK?

Thanks for posting the superfoods ldesim! I shop at Vitacost too. I am waiting on a delivery of a new drink supplement called Green Vibrance that I saw Dr Oz talking about. There is no way I will ever eat alll the fruit and veg I need, and I am a probiotics nut, so this covers everything. Everything else I eat is then, a bonus!

Kicking myself, big time! Colin just told me that it is tomorrow, I have to be up early. Darn it, I could have had another hour.

I have my meeying today, so will let you know how that went later.

    Take care all! M

Okay, this was a wonderful installment from the girl gang.  I hardly know where to begin.

Poor granwe!  No one to play poker with.  We are going to be thinking of the OG next week!  Tell him he's got to heal really quickly, because we've got a lot of work for him to do...

Ariom, excellent job calling about the bracelets!  I think it's going to work.  Will you keep us posted on that?  So happy about the coconut confections for your GFs.  And you're making a coulis!

I must say, the wrestling Chinese restaurant story has magic in it.  No wonder you married him!  Loved thinking about him acting like a madman at his races with your hot air contraption blowing at (what we call his 'kishkes') under a blanket!

Spookie's mom, have been thinking of you all day!  Thank you for tornado update.  Where is Pinellas?  I am going to google it.  I hope we are close!

It rained cats and dogs (?) all day, but I worked like mad, pumping around for one of my stupid jobs like a big wig, and so did not get to keep in touch with exactly what was going on weather-wise.  On way home, yikes!  Could not see in front of me.  However, in the scheme of things, not bad.  You have to do better than that to get my attention.

My blue 'panels' (streaks) are in, and I look like a bad-*ss.  But still professional.  I am a somewhat prof bad-*ss, becoming less professional.  And if someone in power doesn't like it, well then, he will not have the pleasure of my brilliance.  Told my boss today:  No, no problem.  I'll shoulder the burden of that part of the project.  You just swan around and take the credit.  It is no wonder he loves me so.

Idesim, what is on the menu at the coffee table tonight?  :)  Wish I could be there with you.  It seems you will never move down to a Steel Magnolias town to be closer to me and surrounded by house porn.  Well, you'll have to get your own house porn, because I live way more modestly than porn.  In fact, much of my furniture (the non-padded things) was found on the streets of NYC.

    Kisses to all!

Oh Bobo, do you have any idea how wonderful that sounds? "Things you found on the streets of New York!" It sounds so eclectic and fabulous.

I never made it to New York, gosh I am annoyed about that. Eleven years with an American Airline, and never made it there. I think I would love it. I wasn't expecting them to make us redundant, after we'd knocked ourselves out trying to help them save money, after Sept 11. I had lots more travel plans that weren't realised. Kicked to the kerb, is how I'd describe it! Do I sound bitter and twisted? LOL

It has just started to "bucket" down. The lake is in grey out. I can't see the horizon, and a couple of bunnies, the real kind, just scampered past my yard. F the rain, I didn't rake the leaves yesterday.

Love the idea of those blue panels, but hate the credit taking boss. How do those people lie straight in bed after taking credit for someone elses efforts? He better love you lots!

"Kishkes" what a sensational word! I am assuming it is a Hebrew word. I am going to try it out on my Jewish friends. Oooooh Bobo, just looked that up and it is something very similar to the awful (offal) that Scots eat. It says it is eaten at Shabbat!!! Please explain! LOL

I will definitely let you know about the bracelets now that I know I can order them.

I am really going this time. The Rites, shower b'fast in that order and then prepare for the meeting with the girls. I am running the meeting since our Madame President is on a 3 month sabbatical to the warmer climes!

Keep meaning to tell Gramwe that I love, that she taught the Grandson to play Poker. I taught Bec how to play pool!

    Look after yourselves....chat later! M

    You are awake! :)

The way I look at it, poker and pool are both life skills.  Ariom, I believe 'kishkes' is used in this context to  refer to male genitalia because it is the 'bits,' you know?  I was laughing at your astonishment when you looked it up.  I think it is the 'offal' reference.  I don't believe it is related to the 'eaten at Shabbat' reference.. :)

Example sentence:  'Yikes!  I am freezing my kishkes off!'

F you, American Airlines!  You kicked our darling to the curb.  Cannot believe you did not do NY yet.  But, you know NY is kind of 'over.'  Australia is where it's really happening!  I am not kidding.  I want to go to Australia.

Hey, is there going to be cocktails at this month's bc meeting?  I seem to remember something about that last month, but then, no cocktails...  and then a mini cab?  Wish I had a bc group here to be a bad influence for.  And I need a bad influence!  Difficult to drink two entire beers for me.  XXX

I thought we agreed you were going to get violet?? Don't even talk to me about doing all the work and letting the big wigs prance around... story of my life!

haha.. sounds like my furniture.. I've had the same sofa for 20+ years.. what's the point of new stuff with cats?? Plus its broken in!  We bought a really small house a couple of years ago and I got rid of most of my furniture as our apartment had large rooms.. still haven't really furnished this house, just have odds and ends from the apartment.. one of these days.... our home is very lived in and i'm happy with it.

I don't even have pictures on the walls.. I'm so bad.  We bought the house from a woman who was 102... 102!!! She lived in the house since 1941. She's still alive too.  And it was all faded wallpaper everywhere, so we started stripping the paper and that was just nightmare as the walls underneath were in bad shape, so we ended up getting the whole downstairs blueboarded, plastered and then painted.  Then about 6 months later, we lose electricity, turns out the lines disintegrated in the walls in a couple of places they were so old.  They had to smash some of the brand new walls to rerun wire.  I had to pay again to have walls replastered so I can't bear to put anything on the walls since they cost me so much!!

It is dark here and feels damp, so looks like we're in for rain.. I love rain when I don't have to travel in it.

How does a wrestling chinese restaurant have magic? You know I'm envisioning sweaty sumo wrestlers, don't you?

I can tell the Moira is tired, her post was short :)  I hope you do get your nanna nap and make up for the lost hour!  And yes, Colin's morning girl does sound a bit odd, I wouldn't have even noticed it if you hadnt pointed it out.

I think I am going to try the Green Vibrance as well, once rads are over, I want to replenish all that has been destroyed by radiation and chemo and that sounds like it would be a good start.

I believe we are having pasta tonight!  Love pasta!  Especially with lots of melted cheese on top!  We are going to catch up on Deadliest Catch tonight, love that show!

Bobogirl, I hope you are getting dinner tonight!

Fried rice, I think.. :)  Or vegan mac and cheese.  Last night when I was getting undressed, DLLP said, You are looking too thin.  The only time you eat is when I make you something!  Well... have three jobs.  Did have protein shake for bfast, though.  That was a terrible house story!  Guess I have romantic idea of chinese food wrestling.

It is violet!  It is!  I wasn't clear.  It is last time's 'violet,' which was too red, mixed with blue.  So it is actually violet.

I thought I might try the trader joe's version of green vibrance.  What do you think about that?  It would be so easy to get more of.

I hope you aren't saying all you've consumed today is a protein shake.. no wonder you are so thin! I won't even go in to what I've eaten, I'm such a piglet!  ooo... love mac & cheese!

Ahh ok.. cuz you did badger all of us to pick a damn color, you better have stuck by it. :)

No clue about the Trader Joe brand, it'll have to pass Moira's approval :)

I somehow missed two posts.   I love Yiddish words, they just sound so dramatic. I've never heard that one.. looked it up.. it is stuffed intestines and also means guts.  Since one of my boss calls me all sorts of names.. I often utilize this site to make sure he is not insulting me too badly:

    http://www.dailywritingtips.com/the-yiddish-handbook-40-words-you-should-know/

And the yiddish word for testicles is Baitsim (haha.. bait)

Moira, I don't think you could ever seem bitter and welcome to American big business where loyalty is non existent.  I have never been to NY either, but it is known as the shopping mecca so you would be clapping your hands in glee :) There are areas of NY that literally have hidden knock off stores and trucks that open the backs of their doors.

Enjoy your meeting.. no camisole rep this time? :)

I ordered the bracelet! It is so cool. Nordstroms had it in Russian gold and for a lower price so that's the way it all went down! And I like that it is adjustable. Would that everything were adjustable! Thanks for turning me on to the bracelet!

Ariom, I had an early morning also. At 5:45, a crow began cawing 5 times, waiting a bit, cawing 5 times, etc. I thought it was someone's alarm clock or phone. Alas, it turned out to be my alarm clock. No sleep after that. I finally just got up.

Hello all, I am back from my meeting. It was a hoot, as usual!

Today we had a Podiatrist as the speaker. It was very interesting, yes, really! But I was voted as the one with the least appropriate shoes. How dare they! I was wearing a pair of leopard skin patterned ballet flats, that I love. They were wearing sensible shoes, where's the fun in that, I say?

Anyway, when I told the podiatrist I had worn high heels for my entire adult life, including stints of 12 hour shifts on tiled floors in department stores, he was sure I would have very short tendons, and lots of foot problems, not so. I was able to not only touch my toes, but the palms of my hands too, flat on the floor. I am such a show off! LOL

It is absolutely freezing today. I have come home and put on warm clothes. Won't be going outside again today.

I cracked up at the explanation of the Kishkes, Bobo, because it was Colin's frozen legs that I was trying to heat up! LOL He thought it was hysterical too, when he asked what kishkes are, I said "you know, your Kahunas!" LOL

Bobo, if you ever make it to Australia, you're welcome here. I thought Australia was a bit "over". I guess nothing is over if you've never been. LOL

I received my Green Vibrance today, with 6 bars of my favorite soape in the whole world, Nubian Heritage Coconut and Papaya. I  love that soap so much. My bathroom has the subtle scent of coconut.

Hi Wren, you win for the worst early morning!I am feeling a nap coming on right now! Don't you hate alarm clocks?

ldesim, I love the sound of your house, but I would be so pissed if I had to pay twice for the plastering too. I understand your hesitation for putting things on the walls. I, on the other hand send Colin mad when I decide to hang a picture. I hate to measure anything, so will approach with a hammer, and nail, and one eye closed for effect. It is rare that I don't get it right, but he hates it, all the same!

I know I missed out by not going to New York ldesim, but your description of the knock offs and the trucks that you can buy from just makes me want to go more.

Now, since you mentioned the Camisole rep, I have to say I found a website called Marika. I have purchased a couple of their sportswear camis. They were on sale, and then they had an extra 40% off, boy do I love America! I can't wait to get them.

Wirdgirl, you got the bracelet! Fantastic. I took a look at Nordstroms online, and it clearly stated that these bracelets can't be shipped to Australia!!! WTF, (excuse expletive, my nickname is Guttergums) I think there is a bracelet conspiracy going on. It is just so hard! But it is giving me the impetus to Win this, and get a set of them delivered.

Anyway, I am just so tired, (knackered in Aus speak!) I will have a snoozie, and check back later to see what you've all been up to!  M

Wirdgirl, you got the bracelet!  Excellent clever shopping.  Wren, it sounds like your crow is trying to tell you something, but what?

Please keep in mind that there is a limit to the amount of control I have over the stripes!  I describe what I want, then the hairdresser does what he feels is best, and then...  the stripes wash out!  I have to put them back in.  It's exhausting being punk.

Ariom, WTF?  F podiatrists.  That was just plain rude to vote and choose you.  We here in your gang would never do that to you.  If you were still at AA (laughing! AA!), you could have them downgraded to coach and tell the stewardess to make them eat something yucky!  And deny them alcohol on the flight!  And not let them sit in the special room!  You would show them!  I'm sure you had your finger on the pulse of the airline, and could communicate with all the appropriate people to make that happen.  DON'T tell colin that I ordered two seven swords bracelets, one for me and one for my darling.

Yes, that's right, I had a protein shake yesterday!  No real time for lunch: meetings.  Granwe, wish I could listen to the rain with you!

Off to out-of-town.  We rarely go.  But it is my bday Sunday, and we're going to our friends' farm to feed baby lambs!  Sunday night we will return, watch the Tonys, order takeout.  XXX

    Hey Gramwe!

It's raining here too, and I am having a cup of tea and a TimTam, don't tell ldesim she loves Tim Tams.

I bought them for the meeting, brought home the leftovers. They will be gone tonight!

Well I didn't get a snoozie. Colin and i got stuck into rearranging the walk in robe. Booooooring! Colin isn't happy if he can't see where his stuff is. He can't get in there, but he likes to sit at the door and choose pants and T shirt etc. As you can imagine, he only has a miniscule area in there. So I decided to do the right thing and give him the rail and shelving right by the door. Fortunately. he was in a clearout mood too, so about half of the stuff we transported to the new place is now residing in the entry hall in garbage bags. Method in my madness. I now have all the rest of the walk in robe, and my Foobmoire in the dressing room too! cue the wicked laugh "HaHaHaHa"

I'm double knackered now, and my back is aching. Early night tonight for the old girl!

It is a long weekend here, Queens birthday, and the 36th anniversary of Colin's accident.

It is a shame that it won't be a good weather weekend for the boaters who come for the 3 days. It's busy in town. I had to park in the second row at the supermarket! LOL

Well my lovelies, I hope you are all ok, not affected by the Tornado. Keep safe...Talk soon...M

Oh Bobo, you were posting at the same time and I missed it.

It was United that I worked for Bobo, but you have an interesting scenario there! It soumds like a good storyline for a sit com!

I haven't even mentioned the bracelets to Colin, yet!

A protein shake is good, but not enough sustenance for a busy girl like you. I don't know Trader, what's his name? I am super impressed with all that is in the Green Vibrance. It will save money because it will cover a lot of the things I add separately.

I wish you the Happiest of Birthdays Bobo! I hope you have a wonderful time with DLLP, The Princess, and the little man of few words! Enjoy the farm and the clean air. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

    Look after you! M xx

ldesim, I kept meaning to say that I love Deadliest Catch too. We have watched every episode, and often find ourselves watching re-runs. Oh my gosh, but that is the scariest place, the Bering Sea.

Wirdgirl, you won't be able to stop at 1!  And you don't get the full tinkling experience either :) I hope you enjoy it! If you end up not liking it.. remember it was Bobogirl that made you buy it.

Wren, I hate the sound of crows, I don't know why, but its kind of an ominous sound.. sorry your beauty sleep was interrupted.. :(  I just remembered I still have to look up the Kookaberra (sp?) sound.

Oh Moira!  I cried and cried when he died!! In my house you would think we lost one of our best friends lol.  Joe was beside himself.  I'm sad for the boys, especially Jake who seems to have lost his way for now.

I'm sure the Tim Tams are gone by now... I  hope you enjoyed them, you deserve it after all the hardwork kicking Colin out of the walk in wardrobe. And I approach picture hanging in the exact same way... add to that scenario, I am short so I usually am standing on something somewhat unstable to complete the picture (haha!).

I love that you don't wear sensible shoes when a podiatrist is speaking!!  I don't think I could wear heels now if my life depended on it.. I wear flats at work as the law office is comprised of three floors and I am up and down, up and down stairs all day long... not a good recipe for heels when you are a klutz like me :)

I don't know why Australia would be out... I haven't been tons of places, but it was my favorite trip of all... it's hard to explain, but the people and just way of living is so much different than here.

    Posting so I don't lose this :)

What special room would they have been denied on the flight? The bathroom? lol

I better get a little work done today.. TTYL.

There's a great seafood restaurant at Fisherman's Terminal that has decorated the lobby with huge photos of fishing in the Bering Sea. By the time you look at those, you really appreciate what it took to get that seafood to  your table. Outside is a plaza, then boats moored to the quays. And the memorial to all the fishers who have lost their lives fishing up there.

Hi Moira! Is a Tim Tam one of those cookies with the goo inside that you place atop your tea cup to melt the lovely, sweet goo?
