O2, Good for you! You need to rest and recover, not entertain house guests.

M, Sorry for the RA flare and the weather. Guess spring is not as close as you hoped.

DH brushed massive amounts of hair off Goldie today. It's so light that it floats - everywhere. We've discovered she can eat small dry food and she seems to really like it. We're going to go back down to see the GS before school starts.

I have lists everywhere, M!  A list for the week,,, a list of things that need to be done in the near future,,, Things to get handyman to do next time I call him,,,, things to talk to this MD or that MD about,,,,   I would be lost w/o my lists!

I forgot about the different electricity and plugs,,, so it was good you found a Vitamix over there that the person no longer wanted.  Prices between countries can be outrageous. Was just reading yet another article on the difference between drug prices between the States and Canada. OUCH!!

I  do the list thing too. I have a blackboard in the kitchen and Colin always laughs at me, because I prefer that, to using the calendar in the computer.

We are very fortunate with our drug prices here, provided they are on our PBS list, that means they are about $25.00 for most people, but if you are on a Pension or have a health care card I think they are $5.00. Many years ago my Rheumatologist wanted me to go on Embrel, but it was $80,000 per year!!! It was denied PBS a few times and then passed, for severe RA. I never took it.

Quiet here today. I hope Bobo is OK and Zills has been able to get some rest. I hope the boy is doing ok.

Our internet has been flaky all day.

I will catch you all in the morning...M x

Thanks Wren, the day of doing nothing, has helped the flare up.

It is like the weather is giving us a big blast of Winter, before the Spring comes. It has been awful today.

The painters are back tomorrow and they are using the strong stuff in the kitchen, that I can't be around, so I will be out tomorrow, no matter what the weather. M x

Public school starts today and Univ starts next Monday.  People with kids and those who teach are gearing up for the new year. I didn't venture outside until 8 to walk Ava, due to the increased traffic, as I live 2 blocks from an elementary school, and everyone drives their child on the first day! Or it seems that way.

I don't like lists in the computer either. I prefer to have it on paper.

It's good that you have a drug plan like that there. Can I immigrate???

escape plan for the painters is a good idea. I can't deal with those harsh chemical smells either!

    Have a good rest.

    Morning everybody!!!!

I feel much better today.  I think I got too tired.....easy to do these days.    Speaking of memory.... I am on the hunt for a chalk board for my bedroom.  To write down appointments and stuff I need to do.  Can update it easily. Can see it from my Bed and will look adorable if I can fix it right.  And looking for a bullitin board for my other room.  Has to be white.  So fun working on little projects like that!  The notebook is excellent to have when going to the doc.

Glennie I was watching the QVC vitamix too.  I like to watch it cuz it teaches me how to use it.  I learned last night the tapper club thing cannot reach the blade.   Good to know.  Gonna try my first recipe today.  Don't know which one yet.

Going out today to find chalk board.  Back to work tomarrow.

    Stay blessed

Let us know how the recipe goes.  I saw the tapper thing when he was making sorbet, and wondered why he was having to use it for making the sorbet. I was getting sleepy and probably not paying close enough attention.

Glad you are feeling better!!  Chalkboard and bulletin board sounds like good projects.

you can buy chalkboard paint if you don't see what you like.

I too get emotional when tired. I had a crying screaming cussing fit this am. Boy still home. Baby a little congested. Cross fingers it's not what he had.

    Off to PS for consult.

Want a day to myself. Next time I have peace and quiet, have to do medical bills, statements. Yuck!

The only lists I make are for the grocery store. I discovered that writing down the task seemed to substitute for actually doing it and I had lists from years before that had the same exact items on them. Oh, and I have a packing list which I swear by. It's on the computer and has a place for my planned outfits plus the extras things I might forget (phone charger comes to mind).

Zills, I don't blame you. Medical bills are not a day to yourself. More like a day of torture.

Ah Zills,,, paying medical bills isn't a day to yourself. Wish we could have all a spa day. That's what we need.

Back from PCP.  Had to wait an hour. Got RX for Valium, Cipro in case any LE issues look like cellulitis is starting, and for new Swell spots. Don't know if insurance will pay for that but at least I have RX to try.  She's never seen a swell spot before and thought my tie-dyed sleeve was awesome. This time, she agrees with my GYN about my need for the hysterectomy.  Back in work in 2 hours, oh boy !!

my sleeve is tie dyed too! I love it.

Boy still wheezing. Home again tomorrow. Baby hoarse. Cried all morning at daycare. DH going out of town.

Met with ps. Not a great candidate for fat grafting. Thinks tram flap or lat flap with implants. Have enough belly for b cup.

Lots to think about. Books 2-3 months out. Prefers I wait until a year after rads. Not sure if I would be considering it if DH and weren't in the I don't know boat.

No decisions this week with sick kids.

Love this chalkboard idea.  Put the week up there snd now I can see what I have scheduled!!!  When I get computer up and running i will put pic up.   Grrrr that cannot use iPad.  It doesn't have the icons I need.

Friend and friend of friend who I denied use of my home for free hotel now telling lies.   Oh brother.  Not going to address it.

Hi girls! Much more pleasant day today, but the painters range to say they wouldn't be here today, I guess they didn't get to do yesterdays job because of the weather. The render guy is here and has started. We just picked the color, I am so glad we are always on the same page, picked the same 2 again!

I have a clock in the kitchen, which is a blackboard, cut into the shape of a big teapot. I can see it from where I sit at the computer. There are all kinds of stick on blackboard stuff these days, you can buy the roll, or get it in laser cut shapes.

Zills, I am so sorry you've still got sick kids, just keep yourself well! You're right not to make any big decisions like that right now. That's one heck of a surgery, you'll know, what's right for you!

Glennie, so sorry you have something else to put up with now! I hope work went ok and you aren't too tired. I like the sound of the tie-dye sleeve.

02, you obviously made the right choice, not to entertain the freeloaders. Who's going to listen to their nonsense, when they know your situation? Don't you be letting them upset you, or I'll be giving them a sound, bitch slap!

Wrenn, I like that idea of yours! Write down the task and then don't do it! I used to have a packing list and used to manage to travel with just a cabin trolley bag. I hate waiting at luggage carousels! Mostly I would return with an extra case, that I would have to buy at the last minute, but waiting to clear customs at home wasn't such an issue. I like to get off a plane and just get going!

Hugs to everyone today! My RA has settled after my slobby day on the couch, so I can get things done. Colin has gone to the Marina to move the boat to another pen, at the yacht club, we only had to wait 2 years to get that! lol I'm told that it was expedited!!!!!

Takr it easy lovely ones! M x

first day back, and I'm exhausted.  My "new" pillow has been a big help on shoulder, but it seems that working on the computer for hours on end sets it off too. Be interesting to see how sleep goes and how the shoulder is in the morning.

M:  I'm glad you are feeling better today.  Expedited boat slip move,, right,,,,, sounds legit!

Zills:  I have a gray/white one and a blue/white one.  What color is yours? I was always a hippie,,, Hope the children are feeling better. Take your time on making this big decision.

O2:  glad you got chalkboard and new computer is on the way.  Too bad about friends, but they sound like fair-weather ones,,, if they can't see where you are at now,, and can't deal with company,,, too bad on them.  I'll be joining M on the bitch slap!

    2 more hours to work,,,

ok wordsmiths. My family has been asked to participate in a fund raising video. I'm hoping my cute kids will spur them on to finding the cure. So any ideas what to say. Something simple.

Me. I'm a 1.5 yr stage IV survivor? Diagnosed with metasized breast cancer from the get go? Routine mammos? Want to dance at my children's weddings?

Assume audience will understand lingo. May not get to say that much. I'm more than a survivor. Want them to get the ramifications of my diagnosis.

Boy. My mom has breast cancer. That he can do easily.

Baby. Probably nothing but wish she would. Baby talk is so cute. Might be very powerful.

    DH ????

    Zills, how about...

Z: I am ?? years young and this is my family, you've all heard about Breast Cancer, early detection, but I was Dx stage lV from the get go. It happens......too often!

Boy: My Mamma has "Metatastic" breast cancer! (if he could say that, it would be powerful)

    Baby: nodding, along with boy.

Z: What we need is a cure, so that soon, our babies don't have to know what Metatastic Breast Cancer is, then women just like me and you, can look forward to dancing at our children's Weddings!

DH: No family should have to live this, we need the cure, for those like us, doing this now, and for all the others, who are yet to be diagnosed!

Short and sharp, what do you think? I won't be offended if you don't agree.

Sounds good, M.  Short and to the point.

Zills:  black and white is good,,, goes with everything, I saw a red/black one that I loved, but I gotta curb my spending for a while. No Vitamix in my near future.  UGH on the sore throat!  Honey with lemon?  Gargle with salt water??

Hi girls, I am just trying to get ready to go out, when the painters arrive. I can't be here for the product they are using in the kitchen. The guy has started the render on the outside, so that will be finished on Saturday and hopefully the painters will only need one more day after today.

Z, thank you for the post card! It arrived today, lovely pics of Dublin!

I am having lunch in town with my new friend from our group. She has her last chemo next week and then will go to Sydney for 6 weeks, to have her rads. She's a gorgeous lady who just recently moved here. She is an interior designer, so we have lots of interests in common!

I hope you are all ok, I will catch up later. M x

Just dropping in to say hi to everyone, too tired to say much about anything. Today was the funeral of my friend's grandson... it was so draining in so many ways. The younger brother had a meltdown just before entering the funeral and couldnt attend, just heartbreaking. Brought back bad memories of my dil's funeral too. Here we all are trying to hang on to our lives and beat this damn cancer and something goes so wrong with a bright young 16 year old that he takes his own life, just never be any answers. Our oldest son came home for it and is spending two days with us and we also have our two young g.sons staying with us until Sunday.. love them to the moon, they help keep my sanity. I am hitting the pillow. Love to you all.

Hi ladies, boy am I tired! I stayed out most of the day, to escape the paint smell, but when I got home, the mess was unbelievable. I have open shelving in the kitchen, which had to be finished. The painters had removed everything from the shelves, but they sanded the timber without covering anything, so the dust is thick all over the black stone benches and inside every dish that was in the shelves. There's stuff everywhere and it isn't much better outside, either! I love the render on the outside, the guy who did it, has done a great job and I can't wait till the final color goes on. The painters are  going to refurb the cedar front doors that the previous owners had painted over, starting tomorrow. So they will be here longer than expected.

ndgirl, Glenney is right, we will all cry with you. Isn't is jut the most dreadful heartbreaking feeling, so raw and so futile.  There is no way to understand it and the ones left behind, feel the pain for so long. That family will never be the same again and I feel for the poor younger brother.

We talk about BC being an epidemic, but suicide is an epidemic too, the numbers world wide are just staggering.

I am so pleased you have your Son and GSons with you, but such a sad time for you all, it must stir  those awful memories of losing your DIL too. Enjoy having your boys around, hugs to all of you M x

I have the worst ever cramps.  I think my uterus is going to explode. I almost went to the doctor yesterday cuz they were so bad. Today, the day started out better, but they are back with a vengenace now. I am SO ready for the HX.  Please someone come and yank this thing out. I've had Motrin, Tylenol and Aleve.  (not all at the same time) and it's not really making much of a dent.

I just needed to whine,,,,,  Thanks for listening.

Sorry ND. Maybe you can make some good memories this weekend.

Cramps are awful. Hot water bottle or heating pad?  What about those pain relieving patches?

Homework horrors have started. I know he doesn't feel 100%, he is out of routine and having to do some makeup work. It's review and took 1.5 hours to do six pages. Easy pages. Write your name twice, trace numbers and write them three times, trace the color names and then color in the space. Argh!!

I told him he couldn't play or work on the boat until he was finished. He finally got done and went to work with daddy. Baby and I left home to "work". Housework. More argh!
