Glennie   desk and chair are beautiful! Don't you just love old things, they have their own personalities, if only they could talk and tell some stories. Keep the original fabric on the chair, so pretty, and worth more than having it redone. I love old things, torn and tattered just add character, so much nicer than the new cheap stuff that doesn't last. Also love the purple wall. The walls in my house that have paint are yellow, and pink. And front entry door to my house is…a beautiful raspberry! Sure stands out against the dark dark cedar, sounds awful but it is beautiful everyone who visits loves it.

Glennie   nutritionfacts.org has tons of good info, Dr. Greger has about 80 videos on breast cancer alone on there, you can find any nutrition/health topic and watch a quick two minute video.  I'm often caught browsing this site late at night when I can't sleep. Lots of good info and quick and easy.

Helenna:  if you like color, you would love my place!  My office (where the desk is) has that one purple wall and the rest are lavender. One bathroom has 2 crayon green walls, the others are white, with bamboo decals. My kitchen has lemon yellow cabinets (that is what was there when I moved it)  so I played up on that. One wall is orange and the rest are white and I have a lot of sunflower decorations in there. The entry hall is matching yellow to the kitchen cabinets as it is right next to the kitchen.

The living room has 3 light pink walls and one coral wall. My bedroom/bath areas are blue.

and Yes, I do love old things like furniture. This desk and 2 end tables in particular because they belonged to my grandmother.

I see tons of vids on that website. Wow,, I can see how you would spend a lot of time there!

nutritionfacts.org is a nonprofit, and its nice because they aren't politically funded or politically correct. They describe themselves like this: " Dr. Greger scours the world of nutrition-related research, as published in scientific journals, and brings that information to you in short, easy to understand video segments.   We also provide links to the original journal articles whenever possible so that you can source the information directly, if you so desire. www.NutritionFacts.org is the first non-commercial, nonprofit, science-based website to provide free daily updates on the latest discoveries in nutrition. There are hundreds of videos on >1,000 topics and new videos go up every week."  They are also on Facebook, and will also answer questions by email. I asked him if eating strawberries that are not organic is worth it as strawberries have the most pesticides of most fruit. They said yes the benefits of the berries nutrition outweighs the small amount of chemicals, but still organic is best way to go if you can at least with strawberries.

Glennie  sunflowers! what a cheery kitchen to drink your morning coffee in. I've heard of sunflower butter but haven't tried it yet. Bet the ole vitamix could whip some up.

M:  I'm trying to get started with the shake stuff. I got Naturade Vegan Smart.  I don't do milk, soy milk or almond milk.  What's your favorite way of mixing it?

Also, do you do 2 scoops each time?  My nurse friend says 20g of protein all at once is a lot.  She pretty much freaked out at that!

Still need to find green stuff.

Hey you guys!  Checking in and thinking of you.  Trying to get through the many pages of text that were generated in my absence!  M, how is RA flare?  Glennie, how are cramps?  O2, are you feeling better?  Nd, I was so sorry to hear about your reason for the funeral.

Was smiling at M's script for Z because it was so great.  I could see it perfectly!  As I read Z's call for ideas, I thought, M will take care of this.

Have been texting some of you... I am completely swamped.  It's August: Osage County over here.  And then I had a ... hmm... near-pooping emergency that absorbed much of my time.  And today was the first day of college here where I work.  And my two are already in school.  Just coming back up to speed myself, physically.

Bobo -- the real bobo -- loves Glennie!  He can tell she is a real dog person.  He made strange noises that were esp for her.  There is another of our sisters in our town... I visited her in recovery!  It was so fun!

Well, just hanging on here, strapped into my uncomfortable med device, and looking forward to the dresses when they come on before the Emmys.  I love to watch the "red carpet."  Will catch up and report in later.  XXX

Glennie, I get vegan protein powder from T Joe.  Twenty grams is really fine.  I don't know what that nurse is talking about.  In fact, my BS and PS have said that after sx you need to shoot for 300 grams/d for a while!  It's hard to do.  I reply to myself.

Bobo,, I do not know how you are dealing with All of this such a short time after SX,, you are one awesome woman.

I hope Osage County has departed for a county far far away.  Or a galaxy far far away.

I love Bobo dog!  He is awesome. You will love Ava when you get to meet her.

Thanks for help about protein.  She is kind of "go by the book" on diet,,, don't know what to say about that.

Thanks for reminder about Emmy's ,, must record as I'm working tonight.

Cramps better, Will live until next time, me thinks.  Hopefully only one more of these before SX,, 5 weeks from today, but who's counting?

Morning all! Lovely to see you all here! Worried for our lovely DP, in Hospital now.

Glennie, I use almond, rice, soy milk, even sometimes, coconut water in the Vegan Smart. I have the 2 scoops, sometimes if I am on the run and too busy to eat, I will have it for lunch too. I haven't heard that it is too much protein either. My surgeon told me to up the protein for healing too. I do usually put in a banana, and or berries and at the moment I am having it with banana and frozen mango and coconut yogurt. I love it!

I am so jealous that you have met Bobo and Bobo in person! LOL M x

Will catch up with you and the Emmy dresses later! M x

August in Osage county was a movie with Merle Streep and Julia Roberts this past winter. We both saw it. I thought it was awful. Didn't know it was about a dysfunctional family and cancer. People got up and left the theater. I was hoping for Steele Magnolias.

August Osage County was a movie about a very dysfunctional family.  The mother, played by Meryl Streep (great acting on her part) was such a horrible person. Another example of Mommie Dearest,,,,     It was a very intense movie.

Those of us who come from dysfunctional families,, well, we could relate.

Oh, now I get it, I didn't see the movie because of the reviews.  I thought Bobo was talking about  some kind of Floridian Carnival, for Fall or something. So does that mean Bobo has had the visit? Give me time to catch up here, I am a long way away and almost a day ahead into the future here! LOL

Just managed to bath Dexter, gosh he's onto it as soon as I get the towel out of the cupboard he's off, so lots of bribing with treats and it is done. I am knackered, and soaking wet, now I have to catch him to groom him...wish me luck! M x

    Hey Ya'll

I am back on my feet and doing well.  I was in the hospital 2 days last week but got a good report from heart doc.  I have no plaque buildup at all and never will now since it takes 20-30 years to buld up.  so that is good.  Pass the butter please  :-D

Helenna~~~  I have foobs in every size now cuz I really do not know what I am doing!!!  Maybe I can find someone who needs one and can donate to their cause.  I love my Amoena wave form it looks my my boob, hangs like my other boob, giggles like my boob and doesn't ride up.  I love that I can swim in it.  Then I do not have to take a lot of foobs when I travel.  I wrote you a note but lost it last week.  sorry.

PRB  I had the heart symptoms since last Christmas so Arimidex did not contribute to that bout.  Mostly I have thinning hair so now I might try to shop for wigs.  but side effects are not bad.  You should maybe start on it.  Sure beats cancer.  Keep us posted on how you do with it.

I still have not used my vitamix.  That machine is so intimidating.  Maybe I will try it tomarrow.  They make everything look so easy on teevee.  I used to think I was Martha Stewart.  I would watch her then run out and buy the stuff to make and then I couldn't do it and wasted my money!!!  I began to hate Martha......

Glennie girl that antique desk is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!  I love antiques.  I have a few myself.  Hopefully I will be able to get pictures on here.  I am using my new computer now.  I just got it hooked up and am really enjoying it.  Should of got one years ago!!!!  It is so fast.  Anyays would love to see more pics.

Ariom  hope you will be able to put pics on your new decorating and rehabbing.  I love the way you talk.  Going trolling......that was a new one .

I love reading all your posts.  I am convince that if I met each one of you we would be instant friends.  I fell so connected to each one you and did immediately when I found you.  Thanks for all your support.

    How is JSJ?

Bobo and Wren  good to see you!  bobo  take it easy now, you need to heal abit.

hey there Zills  hope the kids are aok!!!

Well ya'll  gonna wrap this book up!!!!  lol  I typed a lot on the computer.  the ipad is abit slower.

Take care and sleep tight.  I may be back on here later cuz I am not sleepy.

    night now,,,,,,,,,morning Ariom

    O2

O2, glad that no heart issues were found, we always need good news. pass the butter for sure!! Good one. Quick ?, so you can wear your swim form with anything? not just for swimming? I have one more to get this calendar year from insurance and not sure which one yet... this sounded interesting. I also have the trulife 611 and it is a little more weighted than the microbead one, which i dont wear alot, they just ride up too  much for my liking, so I mostly stick with silicone. yep, we would all be good friends I know.. wouldnt it be nice to all meet? maybe???

PRB, good luck with arimidex, I am doing ok on it too. only a few issues but nothing big.

Hi Bobo, you are moving too fast! hope you are ok.

So worried about DP in the hospital.

Friend Marilyn is doing pretty well, or as well as can be expected yet, she cant be fitted just yet but soon. My other friend that had the terrible loss of her gs is hanging in there.. one day at a time. my heart aches for her and family. She lost her dh in a farm accident a few years back too, maybe I am repeating myself on this.. cant remember, sorry if I did. We enjoyed having two grandsons for a week, they are 12 and 14 so a good age.. helped me with lots of things and just had some good laughs which was needed.

How are the kids Zills? and you? how are things?

    Love to everyone.

ps... Ariom, thanks for the lovely birthday card, how thoughtful of you. I need to find the post where the birthdays are listed... anyone know where it is? I should have copied it then.

M:  definitely not a carnival. No fun rides.  Don't know details, Bobo will have to fill you in.  I take it Dex does not like his bathtime.  Silly dog.

O2:  glad to see you! Glad you are doing better!! Can't wait to see pics and get a Vitamix report. I'm depending on you to give me a thumb's up before I buy one. (or ask Santa for one,,, Christmas is almost here, right?)

HI again! Oh ndgirl, our gladdies, as we call them here, Aussies shorten the names of everything, are so beautiful. Mine are white, not the rainbow you have there!

Glad to hear Marilyn is doing ok, is she excited about her fitting?

You're welcome ndgirl, Zills is the resident keeper of the dates, she sent me the B'days, but we have more members here now and I don't have the dates. Maybe if we all just give our Birth Date, we can compile a list.

Glennie, do ask Santa!Winking You'll love the Vitamix.

Dex only has to see his towel come out and he takes off. He loves it once he's into the bath, it is just the thought of it that bothers him. He needs to be groomed now, but I am too scared to do it because the last coat of finish is going on the door today and I am afraid it would be covered in fine white hair. The painters, who are absolute perfectionists, would kill me!

I just picked up my first 2 chairs from the upholsterer, he did a lovely job, so I dropped off another 3 to be done, will pick them up tomorrow and drop off the final 4.

Nearly all done... getting the lawns mowed tomorrow and the rest of the heavy stuff that I can't move on my own, put into Colin's storage shed, I can see the end in sight!

    02. I am so pleased that you are out of Hospital and with a good report! Yay!!!!

I agree, instant friends! Gosh, I wish I had managed to get my lifetime flying rights when United made us all redundant, I was 15 months short of 55. I would definitely have been over there to do a whistle stop tour, to see everyone.

I have just cleaned up again outside, but I will have to do it again tomorrow, that dust is unbelievable, it just keeps settling on everything. When I get it tidy enough, I will do some pics for those who want to see it.

    Can't stop thinking about DP.. M x

O2 - Glad you are feeling better with no heart issues.  That's one less thing to worry about, right?  That's how I felt after my colonoscopy last month.

I will let you all know if and when I try the Arimidex.  It's still in it's original envelope unopened.  I should at least open it... maybe they put Xanax in there my mistake!

Feeling worried about DP.  She hasn't posted in quite awhile...not even a random QVC shopping adventure from the hospital bed.  I told 2 people about her today...I know they don't really understand the concern I have for someone I have never met, or the fear I feel about this disease.   I would love to send a card too.

Almost 4 a.m. and I am still up.  Not good.. not good at all.

    NDgirl,, the flowers are beautiful!

M: you have the energy of 3 people. I don't know how you do it. Oh, wait,, it's the Vitamix, isn't it?  I will need recipes as I NEED more energy.    Your place is going to be spectacular when it is finished and yes, we want pics.

A card shower for DP would be lovely, I'm in.

People who have never made friends over the internet,, don't understand those who do.  Right after I got divorced, I found a forum of people who watch the TV show House,, and became friends with many of them. We are still friends and have met several times in person.  I'm planning on seeing 2 of them around New Years in Charleston, SC.  So if a person can bond with others over a silly TV show,,, how can we not bond over a crappy disease like BC? Who else understands what we are going thru?  Who else understands our fears except each other?

PRB:  DP posted on the other thread. A dumb flat question. She is in hospital awaiting MRI today. Mom was with her yesterday.

    Mornaing Ya'll~~~~

Here I am up and using my new puter.

Glennie~~~ I met my husband (now deceased) online in a forum and became very close to the people in the chatroom.  they gave us a wedding shower and all!! it was so fun  we all met at the same time online and it was wonderful.  I do not instantly connect like I did there and here. that is only 2 times that I did connect.

NDgirl~~~ yes I wear the swim form  It is made of silicone.  I too thought I couldn't wear it everyday then thought why not???  Like it was against the rules or something;.  Well I make the rules on the booby thing so I decided to go for it.  Try to see one at a fitter.  look it up online.  Mine is clear which I like so it doesn't show through bras   IT is just very comfortable.  more flexible rather than a hard bump on my chest.  Check it out.  Amoena swim wave form.  it is soft and comfy.

DP   cannot remember who she is................help..............dang Arimidex

Ariom   cannot wait for your pics.  I am still too new with this computer to put pics on.  Maybe will try later.  This windows 8.1 or whatever it is is very different than windows XP which is what I am used to.

A birthday list would be fun.  you send cards on computer or snail mail or what are we talking about?       dang Arimidex

It would be so fun to all be in a chatroom.  Ariom would be trolling around for sure!!!!   I would be trying on foobs with Helenna. Glennie would be be taking pics. Bobo would be making drinks for us on her Vitamix, JSJ and Sailman would be dancing, ndgirl and Marilyn would be laughing..........can't you just see us all???

We would have so much fun.

    ND those flowers are GORGEOUS!!!!!!

Well I will be check in later!!!

    Have a blessed day

    O2

A card shower is a wonderful idea. I have her address and the bday list. You can pm me. I don't think she'd mind.

I did yoga on sat and water aerobics today. Hope to finish up the paperwork from where I was gone.

As far as personal, I'm hurt and confused and scared. I wish you all were closer so I had some place to run away and hide. Cancer sucks and I've got two little ones to consider.

Time to quit feeling sorry for myself and get out of these wet clothes and get to the store. Baby out of milk. She's getting her first real haircut (trim) this afternoon. She tried and tried until she squeezed out a piece of poop the size of a m&m so she could get a piece of candy.

This one lady at water aerobics said she couldn't live without ice cream and toilet paper. Amen to that. Especially now we are in the midst of potty training. I hope this passes quickly.

For the GSs we used MMs

It takes time, but soo worth it to be done with pampers.

O2, DP is Delirium Pie. She started the thread, Maybe a dumb flat question? She's in the hospital with a terrible headache from brain mets.

There was a poster on BCO named Cindy Rose. Someone started a flower shower thread and people posted photos of flowers for her. Don't know what DP would think, but we could consider it.

Zills, I wish we were close also. You would definitely have a hiding place with me. Hugs.

Just call me zombie.  4 hours of sleep, sitting here at work, and wanting to take a nap so bad!  Took DD and her friend to 7th grade orientation and just dropped them off in front of the new school.  No going in to help them find their way or help them purchase their planners etc.  They both were acting like this meet and greet was no big deal..but I know better.  This girl loves to sleep in, yet she was up and DRESSED at 7:30 this morning.  She wore a pretty shirt that I haven't seen all summer, and a pair of cute cuffed shorts that are shorter than her normal sporty ones.  Yeah.. no big deal!

O2?  It's not the Arimidex ... good try though!   DP is from another thread (Maybe a dumb flat question) and is going through some rough times right now.  She's one of those witty gals who I love to read because she makes such valid points about this journey, and at the same time, she intertwines it with some good humor.   Oh, and she loves to shop.  Her and M have really bonded over that!  She could use some extra prayers / thoughts right now if you are so inclined to that sort of thing.

ND - thanks for that info.  I knew DP was on the other thread, and I have no idea why that thread was not refreshing for me.  Strange things happen at 4 in the morning I guess.  When I got up this morning, I saw her post from the hospital.  Glad to hear her mom is with her and there is a plan developing.

Zills - I wish we were all closer too.  How awesome would it be to have this kind of support in our home towns?  I did go to a support group before the mx.  I was hoping to ask some questions, but they had a speaker that night, so I never really got to connect with anyone.  I did see a co-worker who had retired about 10 years ago.  I knew she had BC, but I was never good friends with her.  She encouraged me to call if I wanted to chat, but I never did.  The good news is, she has been cancer free for 13 years and I believe she was stage 3.

About to go pick up the daughter and then off for her haircut (I swear someone needs to start shouting "taxi?  taxi?" at me).  She has been literally begging me to let her cut her hair really short.  UGH.  She has really thick hair (oh how I wish that was me) and I'm a tad concerned that a very short haircut would look like a mop on her head!  I'm going to push for one more trim...and then set her free (after school pictures!)  She'll thank me for this... right?   lol

Z, you have a place with me, obviously!  Hide away anytime.  I'm up for the real card shower for DP or for the flower shower.  Z, will you send me birthday list?  I feel behind, and I'm the one who called for the birthday list in the first place.

ND, I want to live with you and your beautiful... gladioli, were they?  And can things.  What did you do on your birthday? Bird, I feel woefully in need of a Goldie story.

M, laughing at the part in which people were orienting you about August Osage County!  Oh, I could not begin to list it here.  In fact, I had dispatched Glennie to report in to the thread -- I texted her when I was up to my neck.  Hmm.  One detail.  MD was in town -- in my town -- for my recent sx procedure, but she did not let me know she was here.  She called me 30 hours after sx, asked quickly how I was, said, Oh.  I forgot you had surgery yesterday, then proceeded to dump an extreme family drama on me.  I cannot repeat the specifics here, it is too awful.  Of course, I was on pain meds, and I could not believe she was just laying all of that on me.  She stayed in town a week, with my brother, never came to visit me, but did call DLLP and have two screaming fights with her.

On the weekend -- she was still in my town -- she texted me to call her.  It was 8 a.m. or so, week of sx.  I was still sleeping.  After she had no answer from me via text, she texted me, I hear your silence loud and clear.  Even though we are not speaking I love you.  I woke up, read all that, and texted her, No silence.  I was sleeping.  And she replied, Oh great!

There is just a small peek into the August: Osage County of it all over here.  Oh, and my dad has bladder cancer -- it has come back after chemo this summer -- so we're going to their house for the day next Saturday.
