I just remembered. She loves pumpkins. So besides snail mail, we should post funny pumpkin pix. It's that time of year:)

    Baby has a 102.5.

As my friend says "idle hands makes the devil work". I think that's me. Too much time to stew.

Zills, really hard to imagine anyone with 2 children ever has idle hands. Maybe too many activities that allow you to think while you do them?

Bobo, We are in the middle of a huge cat dilemma and are putting off decisions until we return from visiting the grandchildren over labor day. We still have Goldie and have had zero calls about her (not too surprising during kitten season). In the meantime, a former foster named Squeakers was returned to the shelter. This is the black FIV+ cat who adores playing with feather toys. We came within an inch of adopting him and I still have his photo in my purse. What to do? One option would be to send Goldie to Petco where cats get adopted pretty quickly. Her beauty would attract attention. Another option would be to send Squeakers to Petco because he would really love a kid to play with. Third option would be to try and integrate both of them here at home. Not sure the shelter would allow it since Goldie is FIV-. So our response is to go somewhere and forget about it for a few days.

And I forgot to say sorry about your Dad. Do you think he'll do chemo again?

Belated birthday to ND. Hope it was happy.

Z:  poor baby and poor you.  I do not imagine that you are ever idle with 2 little ones.

    ND:  Happy belated birthday.

Bobo:  What's up with Dad?  more chemo?  Report in.  Ava hopes to meet you soon.  I'm off Sunday. Possible?

Wren:  running away seems like a good option than making big decision.  Can you not have F+ cat with non +? Very contagious?   I'm a dog person,, so not aware of this issue.

M: first Vegan Smart shake.  Made with coconut milk, flax seed, strawberries and banana.  Pretty darn yummy.  Even without a Vitamix.  Plain old Oster blender.

Only one kid activity. Gymnastics and I walk on the treadmill during that time and watch extreme couponing.

I'm not going back to work and I haven't gotten into a good routine yet. I hate housework. Don't have many friends that are stay at home moms. Haven't found an activity that I'm passionate about like your painting and cats.

Working on it but sick kids, my appts and paperwork avalanche from vacation.....

    Dawny. Whats tmdi?

Zills, you mean TDM-1 that is on my profile?  It is a newish combined chemo and Herceptin drug for HER2 positive.  I had it on a trial here, it was awful, hated it.  I had progression, and then had mx, and found out that I had morphed to triple negative.  So there was no chance it was ever gonna work, still a peeved about it.  I had assumed that receptors had been re-tested, did six months of misery, without any possible benefit.  Works well for some tho, no hair loss and supposedly less s/e's.  Hogwash.

I hate housework too, the draw of my iPad is too great at the mo!  Xx

Wren……Pick option #3! Goldie and Squeakers together! I had a big ole male tomcat FIV+ along with being diabetic, also took in his "wife" and his kid who was also diabetic. (both got two shots insulin daily)  He lived a good 13 years with us before his kidneys decided to quit for good, the FIV was never an issue, and he didn't fight my other ones so nothing passed to others. I know lots of folks who have FIV ones mixed in with their other cats. Bet Goldie and Squeakers would become best buds, or bud and budette!

I hate cleaning house,, would rather be in the garden.  ND,, we are all coming over.

bobo  so sorry about your Dad~~~that sucks.  your MD sounds like my MD who I have seen one time since 1997 per her request.  I stopped crying about it after about 5 years cuz I love my MD but she hardly can relate to that.  She is a malignant narcissist and it is truly all about her.  Bless her heart.

Thanks Wren~~~~~Will keep DP in my thoughts and prayers.  It is aweful this whole thing!  cancer sucks so bad and until you have it you do not know.

Zill~~~wish I was there with you.  Hugs to you .  Don't be scared.  Focus on those babies of yours and they will make you smile.  This is all so cruel.

Count me in on sending cards and flowers...........

    O2

    PS  Morning Ariom!!!!!!   Night all

I hate housework too!  One of Dd's friends was coming over this past weekend and we had to run around picking up the house.  It's always good when someone is coming over because it's about the only way I can motivate myself to clean.   Both my sister's houses are clean, clean, clean.  We've talked about this a lot and they say they like it clean and do it for themselves.  Me?  I clean my house for other people.

Happy belated birthday ND.  Not sure how I missed that one.  Glad you had an enjoyable day.  As I said before, I used to hate birthdays...but my attitude has certainly changed since this diagnosis.  Birthdays rock!

Bobo - OMG..I am not sure how you can tolerate that kind of abuse by your MD.    No silence, I was sleeping?   After all that crap on a chapstick that's all you wrote to her?  You are a better woman than me that's for sure.

When I went to pick up DD from her school orientation today, we got caught in perhaps the worst storm I've ever been out in.  I literally could not see the road and we were on a very fast and busy highway.   I wanted off that darn highway, so took an exit.  Thankfully there was an overpass so I could see where the exit was.  Made it to a gas station with an overhang where a bunch of cars were taking shelter.  I tried to remain calm for DD's sake, but it was wicked.  60 MPH winds / big lightning and thunder shaking the earth / pelting rain and trees bent to the ground.  Had to laugh because the local radio station was saying "there are showers in the area".  Showers?  Really?  1 minute later the *bawk bawk bawk*  National weather alert came on.  Take shelter.    After it passed through, there was some major flooding on the streets and I went through some pretty deep water.  I could hear it making strange gurgling noises as it obviously was above the lower level of the doors.  I know I know!  They tell you not to go through water if you don't know how deep it is.. but what are you gonna do?  We survived, daughter got her hair cut (just a trim).. she's unhappy.  Life goes on.

All this cat talk.. I have no idea what you all are talking about.  I assume some kind of cat disease.  Only one I know about is cat scratch fever (thank you Ted Nugent).  That Christmas tree picture of the cats seriously creeps me out!  Dare I say it here?  I am not an animal lover?  LOL  Are you going to toss me out of the club?  Hmmm.. getting tossed out of the breast cancer club.. if only it were that simple.  I did like the Halloween cobwebs postcard though.  Speaking of postcards, wonder where Fia is?

Damn, I have been writing book in here lately.  Not sure what's up with that.  I will try to contain myself!  :)

do not contain yourself, PRB. I enjoy your writings.  Sounds like really nasty storm!!  Good grief. Glad you made it home OK.

I'll join too. I only do major cleaning for my book club (every 3 mos), Christmas, and my sister-in-law. At least with her, DH helps. You could eat off my mother's floors but couldn't have friends over because they might get the piano keys dirty. It's taken 50 years to decide how cleanIwant it. Just plan to eat off a plate here.

lol spookie! A cat tree?  PRB is freaking out.  Ha ha, I always get a laugh with you ladies.

Wren, I also think it must be option 3, keep them both.

Glennie, yes M and I are only a few hours apart, would love to catch up one day.  Beautiful day today M, spring is just about here!

PRB, keep writing, we love it!

Bobo, your MD just astonishes me. Can think of no words.  Best wishes to your dad.  Stupid cancer.

O2, you have seen your MD only once in 17 years? Wow.

Zills, do any housework?  I did a little, only because my MIL is coming over tomorrow.  ;)   She is a clean freak.  Every Monday she cleans everything completely, every 1st of the month, she moves all the furniture around, so one chair or cushion doesn't get used more than another.  She irons all if her clothes as soon as she takes them of the washing line.  Doesn't leave them in the basket for weeks. :)

Hello ND and Helenna!    And everyone else.

Anyone heard from grammab, or gramwe?

    Thinking of DP

Hello everyone, another day of non stop action here! Had the lawns and the weeding done, picked up chairs and dropped off more, moved more stuff into the studio, made morning tea for everyone and ended up having to run to the supermarket for more supplies. I have just cleaned up after the painters, they will be back tomorrow to do the fascia boards. The cedar doors are finished, at last, that was 3 full days of work, but probably cheaper than replacing a pair of heavy timber doors and infill to the roof.

The studio is nearly there, the treadmill is in there, but will I actually use it?

I am trying too catch up on everyone's posts. Dawny, I would love to catch up sometime. I don't get down to Melbourne much, but I am doing some business with a woman in Ocean Grove, so I may have to meet her in Melbourne soon for a meeting, do you go to Melbourne much? I doubt you get to Paynesville, but if you ever do, you're very welcome to come here!

I had a very pensive day on Monday, it was the 11th anniversary of my Mother's passing. I feel so bad for those of you who don't have a good relationship with your Mothers, I miss mine every day, and my Dad, gosh he passed on New Years day '94, I never have a really great New Years because I remember where I was that year.

Housework, OMG, I hate it and my ironing basket is full. When I get around to it, or if one of Colin's carers does it for me, it's like I have been shopping and got new stuff because it's been in there so long! I don't really get away with not doing housework, because we have people in the house all the time, but if I can shortcut, I do! LOL

I agree with Glennie, PRB don't contain yourself, I love to read your posts too. Don't worry if you aren't an animal person, you'll never get tossed out of this club, we will just bore you with stories about ours!!

Glad you survived the storm, and the haircut, bot that can cause some tension, can't it? I always live by the thought that the difference between a bad and a good haircut, is about 3 weeks!

Glennie, that shake sounds delicious! I only use the Vitamix for the morning shakes, because it lives on the bench, my main usefor it is, the soups it makes without me having to wrestle with my arthritic hands to cut up the veg. Everything goes in whole, or just cut in half and it does the rest including heating it.

That cat tree was bit on the creepy side, all those eyes following you everywhere!

ndgirl, glad you had a nice birthday, I know, who paints the cedar? The previous owners slapped paint on everything when they were selling. I truly would have been better left as it was, it has cost us plenty, to remove so much of it. We have actually left another couple of the cedar doors out front painted, so that the feature, is this entry. I will post some pics when the painting is finished on the fascia boards. Got to run, just remembered something I forgot at the store....M xxx

No housework. Unless you count putting clothes in the dryer. Kids usually empty trash and fight over dust mop and vacuum. Having to wipe down toilet often as the baby is potty training. She's short and hangs on to the seat. What am I going to do in a public bathroom?

I guess I need to call her something else besides baby. She's had to grow up a lot this summer. No pacifier, twin bed, no sippy cup, potty training. I did give her a sippy cup last night so she would drink more with the fever. I thought about the pacifier but didn't bring them out of hiding. She slept all night.

Today is the first day in a long time that I woke up before everyone and got to have my morning cup of tea with you all. Should be a good day!

Had lots of phone calls yesterday. Good news! Met my deductible and out of pocket. Everything should be free to end of year. So.... Now is the time to get recon started if that's what I want.

Also finally heard back from MO. Just see him in two months, scan in four months:) unfortunately that means Christmas. I could wait until Jan but would have to pay. Who wants bills in Jan? I wonder if he wants to see me since I was upset at last appt and to see if I've taken the neurontin he prescribed. Nope. Just weaned off Effexor and don't want to start anything new.

He believes in QOL. Yes! Says neurontin doesn't have withdrawals. I take his advice on non chemo drugs with a grain of salt and confer with my PCP. He is the chemo god so I don't question that.

Hot flashes aren't worse. Just my knees and feet ache, I do the morning shuffle and have some leg cramps. Old wives tale is to put a bar of soap between the sheets. I did try this for boy's growing pains. He didn't know so it wasn't a placebo effect. Seemed to work.

Good Morning Zills! it is 9pm here and I am almost ready for bed. Really tired tonight and my hands and feet are giving me grief. I have lifted and dragged too much stuff this week and now I am paying for it. No Claw anymore though.

Colin and our friends went sailing yesterday, I stayed home for the painters, even though I would have loved to go and would you believe, they won the race!

I have a baby shower on Saturday, a 60th birthday on Friday night, a mammo and U/S on Monday and guests arriving to stay on Tuesday with a 4 month old baby. Yikes!!!!

I guess you have to make those decisions fast now, if you have this short window of opportunity. Which way are you leaning?

Interesting, your old wives tale is a bar of soap, my Mother believed in corks or a cork place mat under the sheet at the foot of the bed!

    I hope you have a good day! M x

Yea Colin! Sorry you missed out. Your schedule sounds like Bobo's. Rest while you can!

4 months old are so sweet. I'm a little jealous.  You know when my baby girl (BG) is sick, she wants to lay on my chest. She used to fit on my chest as an infant and that's how I knew I had a lump. Very painful. Now she's up under my chin. Won't be able to that much longer. They grow so fast.

M:  I'm always envious of people who have a good relationship with parents. I'm not in that club. My father was an abusive alcoholic and my mother allowed it to happen. He's gone and I do not mourn him a bit. My mom is still around and I've tried to have a better relationship with her but it's not easy. She is difficult and easy to find fault with everything you do, and remembers every little "bad" thing you did and reminds you of it. It's much easier to live 350 miles away from her and only see her once in a while.

YAY for Colin winning the race!!  How fun!!

And sounds like you have a lot of fun things coming up this weekend. You are indeed a busy woman, and I still need your recipe for energy drinks!

Todays' my day off. I'm going to the chiropractor and then to the movie & dinner with a friend. Pierce Brosnan (hottie) has a new movie out and we are going to see that. Biopsy one week from today, and surgery 1 month and 2 days away. I guess I'll be in instant menopause then. How fast do the estrogen levels drop after they yank all your stuff out?

Zills:  good to have met deductible and OOP.  Get stuff done before the end of the year if you want. At least all the scans, etc,,,, if not starting recon.  How old is baby girl now?  They do grow so fast. Maybe we can call her LG for little girl.

    ((hugs)) to all
