In the bag for bobo and Zills.

Hi Fia, good job on the five a day! Awesome willpower.  When we renovated our house, we decided to do all of the painting ourselves, I thought it was fun to begin with, but that soon got old, it just goes on and on forever, doesn't it?

Hey idesim, hope you can replace that keyboard soon, or it will drive you around the bend!

M, your stand looks amazing, hope it goes well straight off the bat.

    Aaahhhhoooo, werewolves of London....

Can't wait to see squeakers    Xx

Wheee Bibo's out of surgery.  First things first...then recovery.  Hope she's fine...3rd time is the charm.

Zills - thinking of you at your appointment.  My MO's (two because of two diff. cancers) are in a cancer center and sometimes there are very sick people in the waiting room.   Makes my stomach hurt.  Not sure what you are doing there.. or if you even said, but hoping for good news.

M - I want to buy one of your sun-catchers too!   Don't we get first dibs on em?  When you kept saying noodle boxes..I didn't know what you meant....but I see now.   Very clever.

Idesim - welcome back.  The only way to keep up is to not leave!  Got it?  Please stay for awhile.

Thank you for the updates Glennie.. my fingers and toes are crossed that things go smoothly for her this time.

M, you make me feel like a rock star lol.. I still have my suncatchers and I love them.. they shoot prisms of light all around the room and it just puts a big ol smile on my face.

Unfortunately, all I have is a laptop, so it's not like I can replace the keyboard.. unless... hmm.. maybe I can get one that plugs into a USB port.. or one of the cordless ones.. never thought of that.

I guess MO was follow up on the neurotin that I told him I wasn't going to take. Either that or he didn't want me to miss out on a pink lunchbox. Next scan is Dec. I've been moved to the 4 month watch group. Yea!

What's going on with Zills today.. I just have missed that one.

So, I saw my MO last week and while I was waiting for her, this women sits across from me... and I had to do a double take because she could be our M's body double!! I know I was staring at this poor lady, but I felt like I knew her and I just couldn't stop staring at her!!  She kept looking up at me and I said hello and kept smiling, but she was probably like wtf is this lady's problem.

Anyhow, all went well with the MO, but now instead of 2 years Herceptin, I am on it for as long as insurance keeps picking it up.. I was a little deflated to hear that.  Bad enough 10 years of Tami, but having to go in every 3 weeks for treatment with no end in sight depressed me a bit.  I always knew I was a high risk for recurrence, but that really drove it home for me.  It also means no end to the fatigue that constantly plagues me as that is one of the SE's of Herceptin.  So there I am feeling a bit sorry for myself as I was getting my infusion and I hear the receptionist talking to somebody on the phone and she was obviously talking to somebody who would be starting chemo and she was telling this poor person that the treatment is 6 hours long, so I knew it was probably something like pancreatic cancer and that stopped me from feeling sorry for myself any further.  I can't even comprehend having to sit 6 hours for chemo.. this disease is really horrid.

THEN I come on here.. and I read about JSJ.. WTF!  That's so not fair, I was so upset to hear that... this is just bullshit!

I can't remember if I told you guys about the bird... I know there's a lot of animal lovers in here.. so I think you'll appreciate this.

Back in late June I think it was... a baby bird fell out of the tree across the street.  We tried to put him back up, even put a basket in the branches, but for some reason he kept ending up on the ground. He wasn't bald, but neither did he have feathers, he just had a lot of fuzz on him.  We ended up putting him in a shoebox on the porch and I googled what to do with him and they suggested finding a wildlife rehabiltator because it's very hard to keep a baby bird alive.  I also learned that they can eat boiled egg and softened kitten food.

This was on a Friday night, so I left messages with about 3 of these wildlife peeps and meanwhile we fed the little guy every hour (I actually have no clue if it was a boy or a girl.. but it was so whiny, I figured it had to be a boy haha).  Come Monday, still no call back and it didn't matter anyhow because Joe was refusing to turn the bird over to anybody.  He had it in his mind that they would not bother with it at all and it would die.   So, between us two and my elderly neighbors.. we kept the bird and we named him Jake.  Jake stayed on the porch for about a month being fed every two hours on average during the day.  Luckily he slept all through the night.  We bought him his very own red plastic tweezers and he went ballistic flapping and squealing every time he saw one of us.  I so fell in love with the little guy.  After the first week, Joe built him a cage from wood and some window screen we had laying around.  We took him outside and he'd hop around following us.  After about a month of this, he finally grew all his feathers in and we let him loose and left his cage outside.  For the first week he was set free, he would see us and start hollering and flying right at us, the neighbors were beside themselves and just couldn't stop laughing.  There were many times when he was 3 or 4 houses down and would start a ruckus and come flying over, land on our shoulders and holler in our ears.

Going into the 2nd week of freedom, he'd still make a lot of noise, but wouldn't land on us as much.  He still would have us feed him, but was also eating on his own.  He had a little blue plastic bath that Joe cut down for him and we always kept it full of water because he loved to flap around in it.

By the 3rd week, he came by for the food we left out, but we weren't allowed to touch him anymore, which I know was a good thing, but also very sad.. we both got so upset by that.

He stopped coming around, but we think that they flew south already.  We identified him to be a greckel and there were tons on our street, but since we haven't seen any, we figure we're safe in assuming they flew south.

It remains to be seen if he'll come back in Spring, but that was one of the single most rewarding things I have done in a long time.. I am so happy to have had that experience... he really was the cutest thing ever and I have never been a bird person.

    Awww. What an awesome story.

Yes I should be practicing. Even got a gown from one of the nurses so I can be a patient zombie. However I smacked the top of my foot. I'm such a fool.

Right now it's wrapped and iced. I can walk but it's sore. Hoping for a sprain and a miracle I can go about my business tomorrow.

sorry about the herceptin. I know that sucks but beats the alternative. I know one lady like that is stage IV and she's been doing it 7 yrs! So it works.

They keep selling me on exercising. I have to admit my fatigue is better but never goes away. I still hit the wall regularly and could care less if I just had 20 oz of coffee or am missing some great deal.

I do feel better when I take the green vibrance. Still baby doses.

MO told me to drink tonic water for muscle cramps. Not gin and tonic but I could gussie it up with a lime twist and an umbrella!

I just had to share these with you and I will put on the other thread
so DP can see them too. Colin just found these on his computer. They
were taken when Dex had the tumor removed from inside his belly, most
likely caused by a kicking, the Vet told us. He is definitely a Male
dog, check out the wussy pose. This is where he would send his day if I
would sit long enough for him. This was taken a few years ago before we
    moved here.

    Cool bird story!

Z my cardio told me about the tonic water.  It has quinine in it, and it really helps!

    Poor Dex.  Yes, typical male.

I have to drink it straight up, my throat swells shut if I have alcohol. I got used to the taste, cardio said just a juice glass size would do it. Keep it in fridge, that helps too.

They gave her gas on the table after being documented it makes her violently sick. Is on zofran and phenergen. Feels like they don't give a damn. Makes sx that much scarier to feel that way and know you're going to be sick with little relief.

Also lost her second job that was supposed to go full time at end of semester. Said she couldn't take off these two days as there was a deadline, even though days were requested when hired.

She's just worn out, nauseous, scared. Will get mad when she feels better. That nausea wears on you, especially on top of everything else.

Bitch slappers unite! M time to bring out the suit.
