OMG, yes, SOMEONE on the thread got the idea to 'cookie bomb' my dad (he has bladder ca) while MD was having some kind of gastric bypass sx.  It was pretty hilarious!  Your flower is so pretty.

I have had to deal with a bat in the house.  I was terrified.  It was not fun for me at all.  I am feeling pretty punk at the moment.  DLLP took the kids to her office and I slept the whole time.  Still have low-grade fever.  I just have the one day before I go back to work, so must be miraculously better by then.

Frost?  It's like 80 degrees here!

Oh dear, I am  afraid the Huntsman story is almost true. It would be a small hand, but they do get pretty big and they do remain in plain sight, no webs and they are really fast runners. I remember a girlfriend and me trying to catch one because it was too big to swat on the wall. We went after it with a big mason jar and a tennis racket, lots of squealing and jumping around, we caught it and threw it outside. Colin tells a story about when he was a kid he had one in his pocket, don't ask me why, but it bit him for taking it in and out of his pocket too much. My Mother was totally unafraid of spiders, Bec is a total arachnaphobe, and I am somewhere kinda' in the middle, anyway you will often find these big huntsmen in your letterbox, my Mother would just reach in and take them out, uggggh I couldn't do that.

ldesim, look at your lovely Hydrangia, I have a pink one at the side of my house and just yesterday I saw that it had flowered and I'd missed it! I often think of Gramwe and wonder how she, the old goat, and her daughter and grandbaby are doing. She hasn't been here in a very long time. GB has disappeared too, her daughter was having relationship issues and we think GB may have gone to California to help out.

I still use the Viatmix and the Airfryer every day!

I must have missed Jsj's hiccup story, so I will go back  to find it.

It is a beautiful day here, but I am so tired, Colin wasn't well yesterday and we didn't sleep well last night, add to that, I backed Colin's car into our gate and took some paint off the guard, altogether a shitful Sunday that I would rather forget. Colin is much better today!

I have lots to do today, including a meeting this afternoon at the Craft Shop to meet the other members and to take my new stand down there with more stock. I may just have a Nanna Nap this afternoon!

Take it easy Bobo, don't be overdoing it on the outing. Please drink heaps of water to get all that junk out of your system. If I took half of what you took, I would be comatose on the floor!

    Must dash.....will be back later...M x

glad Colin is feeling better and hope he stays that way! You did Haberstroh as shitful day, could have been worse tho.

Idesim love your hydrangea , I had a blue one and if you gave it miracid for plant food it would turn blue, has to do with ph balance of soil. I only have a white one called Annabelle now.

I had a rant on DP 's thread but won't repeat it here. I went for a long walk and found a little maple tree or sprig and dh dug it up and we planted it here, hope it grows.

Spiders, yuck, hate them snakes and lizards. Not too fond of frogs either.

Hope Bobo is resting, sorry about you losing a job.

Hi, just got back from running errands and took Dex out for a walk. I am walking up the street and I can hear really loud buzzing, all of a sudden there is this huge swarm of bees! WTF, I am scared of them as every time I get stung I get a little worse in the reaction. They kept going up the street and we come to the house 2 doors from us that is being renovated. I hear a growl and their big yellow Lab comes flying at Dex and nearly knocked me over! Another WTF, the owners didn't come to see what the commotion was about. I walked around to get to my gate and the guy on the roof looks at me. I said sorry about the scream and the expletives, but that dog just took a run at us and nearly knocked me over, he just ignored me. Great! Not my day girls! M x

How big are these bats you're getting in your houses? I am gobsmacked, the bats we have in our garden wouldn't make it through the doorway with their wingspan, they are the scariest looking things and I refuse to go down our front path at night when the fruit trees are ripe, there are 3 that inhabit the Fig tree at night. They are called flying foxes here and they're nasty! M x

OMG!  M has scraped car, Colin hasn't been well, dog attack, giant flying bats, swarm of bees.  You need to take shower, get some cozy pjs on, and get in pillow palace!  Poor M!  That bat picture is terrifying.

I do not feel good.  Today is the day I am going to start feeling better.

OMG,, I did not see that bat picture before. We must have posted at the same time.  That thing is HUGE.  I wouldn't want to go in the garden either.

Bobo:   you will feel better today.  Mantra:   Today I am feeling better. Today I am feeling better.

Good morning all. Go for my lab work again this morning and hoping that we can resume chemo tomorrow. Holding off a week means I finish the week before Christmas with my last treatment being around JB's 19th birthday. All I want for Christmas is to be done. One more delay and it will be New Year's before we finish it up. But, lemonade out of lemons, it is what it is. Thinking though, that as frustrating and defeating as it was, holding chemo was probably the best thing for me. The hot air balloons were in town this weekend and it is something we have always done as a family. JB came in and spent the night Friday night. He and Sailman stayed up until 3am playing guitar on the computer with their Rocksmith 2014 game. I then proceeded to wake them up at 5am to get ready for the morning assent of balloons. LOL. We had so much fun. It was a calm, almost no wind morning (unusual for West Texas!)

    image

Saturday evening, two of our dearest friends we haven't seen in over a year came to town and stayed at the Herman Hotel.  Jeff and J have been friends of ours for 20 years and we have been through a lot together. JB grew up calling them Uncle and thought they were a part of the family. They went to the sunrise launch of balloons out of Palo Duro Canyon Sunday morning. Again, an unusually calm morning. There is nothing quite like watching them take off out of the Canyon.

    imageimage image

So, my spirit has been renewed and I hope my blood has too during my little hiatus from chemo. I am ready to start the last 3 rounds and get this shit done.

Idesim, I love the flower. Thank you for your warm wishes and love. Welcome Mary... you have stumbled upon a wonderfully amazing group of sisters!

M~ I hope you have a better day today and that the shitful ones are behind you. Hoping that Colin is feeling better too. I must say, you keep those huge bats and spiders down under!

Bobo.. take it easy today. Try to rest while everyone is gone and hoping that tomorrow you feel like tackling the world as you go back to work.

Much love to you all and I will report back in tomorrow on whether chemo was a go or not.

Bobo, I will repeat with you.... today will be better.

Lovely balloons pics!  I want to go to a balloon festival one day.  I have a friend in ABQ who keeps wanting me to come out for it. But I don't want to go up in one!  **afraid of heights**

And I want you to finish chemo before chemo too. I will ask Santa.  **although I'm Jewish,, will he listen?**

I had minor lab work today.  Just estrogen level to see where it's at now that I'm in surgical menopause.   **hot flashes, mood swings**  I'm so there!

So one of my best friends went to NYC without me.  OK, so she went with one of her sisters, but STILL!!  I was post-op. *pouts*  But she dropped out the CD to Beautiful the Carole King Muscial for me today.  They saw that show and I was so jealous!  But I have the CD now,, so it almost makes up for it.

Good Morning ladies, I am ready for an attempt at a really good day today. I slept like a log last night, Colin is feeling much better, the sun is shining and everyone I asked about the bees have said they have never seen such a thing here, so I am guessing I was treated to an unusual event that I am unlikely to see again, thank goodness! Colin wasn't the least bit mad at me, for damaging his car! What a man!

Js, I am sorry you needed to miss your chemo, but glad you're ready an fit for the next one. I have never been in a balloon, but they used to go over our house when we lived in the city, the beach was just across the road from us and there was a park where they would land. There were many mornings that I could stand in my backyard and talk to the passengers in the basket as they passed low over the houses.

Glennie, I am sorry you missed the trip with your friend, but the CD was a nice thought! Haha, Santa listens to everyone, I will be asking Santa too, for chemo to finish for Js and to bring her a nice surprise!

Waving to ndgirl, how are you doing?

I went to the meeting yesterday at the Craft Center, they were very welcoming and I got 2 more orders from other contributors for my Sun Catchers. They loved the Rusty Rake Stand and said I should look at having those made as jewelery stands! I think I may pass on that one, but glad they liked everything.

Waving to everyone that I haven't mentioned, have a lovely evening! M x

Squeakers, for those who wanted to see his photo. This was taken 2 years ago when we were fostering him. It shows his little short tail and his concentration on feather toys.

Definitely not soft and fuzzy Goldie.

They are getting along a little better. Goldie has a scab on her nose, so perhaps he decided not to take it anymore.

Love the balloos Stacey, they are awesome.  I hope you were able to have chemo.  And I hope M's day was better today.

Hope you a feeling ok bobo.  Do you need to go in for another op, or can you leave it as is now?

Huntsman spiders  ewwwww!  When I was breastfeeding DS, I used to read my  book during the night feeds, to try to stay awake.  One time, I left my book on the arm of the chair, when I was awoken, I sat down, got organised with the baby, picked up my book to read, and there was this dirty big huntsman on my book!  Aargh, I threw the book up into the air, luckily I didnt throw the baby up into the air also.  I didn't know where the spider ended up, so I put the baby on the carpet in the next room, whilst pulling my pj top over my head.  I was obviously screeching as DH came to see what the kerfuffle was about.  By this stage I was half naked and hopping around.  And yep, he found the spider in my pjs!  Terrifying!  I don't think I slept another wink that night.  Especially because it is said that they come in pairs.  I wanted to sell the house, but DS thought I was over reacting a little  😄

Thanks for the Squeakers and Goldie pics Wrenn, loved seeing them.  And Ideisms flower.

And  Glennie, not overdoing it, back at work?

    Xx

More pics!!   I love pics!! Awesome to see.

What a story about the spider. EEEEK!!!  I wouldn't have liked that either.

The hardest part about my job is staying awake and focused until midnight. I'm not really a late night person. I would generally go to bed at 10 or 11,, and it's amazing how hard it is to stay up just that extra hour. And then I go to bed and I can't fall asleep. There is something about your circadian rhythms that you are supposed to go to sleep by 10 and if you stay up after that, the next sleep cycle is 2am,,, I can kinda believe that.  Otherwise, my job is not so bad.

I wouldn't be too happy with swarming bees, spiders in my pjs or those giant bats.

Is the kookaburra a baby? I thought they were bigger. All I know is that song Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree....

If BG saw Squeakers, she say "Firebob".  We watched cat videos last night and every black cat was Firebob.

I was asked today if I had one wish, what would it be? I think my answer shows how pathetic I am.  What would your answer be?

I would prefer no bees or spiders or bats either.   And no wasps. Or hornets.

Hi all, just got in, I have been on the run doing stuff since early this morning and we are having a heatwave. I am boiling hot and my feet are killing me.

Colin sold one of his model Yachts, so I had to package it all up to send and it has been massive job, the cases they come in a huge and heavy and everything has to be taped down inside the travel cases. Add to that, the Mozzies biting me and I am over it! No whining from me though, since I made that terrible faux pas, with his car!

Hi Glennie, I am laughing at your list of "Don't Wants!" in Aus, we have 'em all!

Zills, that Kookaburra is a fairly large one, he'd be about 10" tall, I know there was no frame of reference in those pictures, and he looked kind of small and cute, but the get that large and they eat lizards, snakes and mice. He is a really good looking one, with beautiful aqua tips on his feathers.

I don't think you could ever be pathetic, your wish is your wish! M x

My last dog caught a couple of toads over the years. He didn't eat them, but they secrete some toxic stuff out of their skin so he would drop them. And then FOAM AT THE MOUTH trying to get the taste out. The first time it happened, I freaked out  ((foaming at the mouth, like rabies))   and called emergency vet. They said to give him bread to help him get rid of the taste and that worked.   I've never seen the really big ones. Not sure they live this far north.

JSJ. Gorgeous pix. We need to win the lottery so we can experience all these neat things with our bc sisters. We watch the balloons when they float by during derby week. Never seen them up close.

I'm assuming since you didn't post that you got chemoized and are tired. I had to skip a round too. It sucks but better to be strong than constantly tired. Being sick and tired wears you out. Maybe transfusion will be new std for rest of treatment.

    Thinking of you and bobo.

    Good to know!

GYN office just called. My estrogen level, 3 weeks post HX, is undetectable!!  Is that below zero?  LOL.  No wonder I'm having hot flashes, etc.

Ava dog is not feeling well. Not sure what's wrong, as she has Cushings and hypothyroidism. When I got back from Target, she was laying down facing away from the door and I could see the hair on her hind end is falling out again. Balding butt. So we have an appt for Sat, to check her levels and see what's up.  I get bloodwork, dog gets bloodwork.  **sigh**

Yea no estrogen! Hot flashes suck but beats the alternative. Effexor did help so there are some things you can try if you just can't stand them.

Morning ladies, ugghh are you talking about Cane Toads? They are a huge problem up in Queensland, they can kill a dog if they get hold of one. They were introduced here to kill something that was attacking the sugar cane and of course then they just kept breeding out of control. They are so ugly and can grow to a huge size. I'd be worried to let my children out in the backyard up there in case they found one.

We had really a spectacular storm last night that woke us with the thunder, The lightning lit up the bedroom even though the blinds were drawn. At least the garden go  a really good soaking!

Got my appointment this morning for a pap test and will visit my friend at the Opp Shop, not too much to do today. I hope you're all having a nice quiet evening.

Jsj and Bobo, I am thinking about you, hope you're feeling better. M x
