Glennie, I hope Ava is ok. I have Dex back on the steroids, he has the allergy symptoms again too. His eyes are so red and sore, I feel for the little guy.

I think they are called Bufo Toads here. Spookie will know.

I swear this lack of estrogen is messing with my brain. I'm so dyslexic now that I can't type at all without many corrections. And I think the lack of sleep is also bad. I felt like I had slow reaction time today when driving. Not good. Big talk with GYN next week when I see her.  Tonight I'm going to bed early and trying melatonin. **fingers crossed**

Poor little Dex.   I worry more about Ava than I do about myself. She just seems so lethargic.

Yep, that's the name of the nasty things.

Saw this when leaving DDs today. Not the best pic, on iPhone in car. He doesn't have much tail feathers either.

in the bag M. I hate paps. Much rather have mammo.

Yes glennie. I have had several dings this year and can't multitask. I search for words. I couldn't tell you if it's no sleep or no estrogen. I don't think it's chemo brain.

So sorry you joined this "club". I can't think of anything positive from this except we are alive. It's amazing how much estrogen does besides try to kill you. It would be nice if we didn't have to shave or worry about weight or some other awesome SE.

Not having to shave would be nice.  I'm going to try Valium with the melatonin tonight. Hoping it works.  Also hoping this will not last forever.   I got the name of an doctor of oriental medicine who does acupuncture.  After my friend see him, I may check him out.

Zills, did you have a good laugh in the bag today? I don't like them either, but this was a funny one, I have posted on the other thread about what happened.

I hope you get to sleep tonight Glennie! Is Ava any better? Poor Dex has two eyes that look so sore, he's not happy!

Spookiesmom, I am still afraid of Peacocks, even though I was a kid when I saw the first one at a Castle in Scotland. I was terrified of the noise they make, when they bring up the tail and shimmy it! I still don't like it, but they are amazing looking birds. M x

They are wild in her neighborhood.  Nasty mean birds, can do serious damage to your car when they see their reflection. Their call is what you heard in the old Tarzan movies.

Reporting in on sleep:  Took melatonin 3 mg and Valium 2.5 mg.  went to bed at 9,,, a real luxury since I work until midnight 5 nights a week. Only woke twice.  didn't get out of bed until after 8.  So I think I feel somewhat better! Tonight will just try the melatonin, as I don't like to take V every night.  Don't want my body getting used to it. Did that with Ambien and it was rough getting off of it.

Ava seems a little perkier, but she still didnt' want to walk this am.  Went around the circle and she did her business and right back to the house. OH well.  We will see what the vet says on Saturday.

Hi O2:  Glad you are feeling better!!

Popping in with update. Platelets were up, all other numbers were down a bit but still ok. Got juiced up and the se's have been yuck.  Nausea has progressed to vomiting and aches kept me up most of the night. Missing another day of work today, hoping to feel better soon. Much love, Stacey

Believe me, if I could just stay home I would, but unfortunately, and I know you can all relate, the bills don't get paid if money isn't coming in. I am at work for a bit today, hoping to make it until 5pm but doubting that will happen. The se's have been really bad this time and I don't know if it is just the accumulation in my system or what, but I have never had the bad nausea like I have this time. I am betting I will need another transfusion in the next couple of weeks, and am so ready for the next 8 weeks to be over! Thank you all for your love and support through this, I couldn't have made it without you.

    Much love,

    Stacey

Hang in there, Stacey.  You are a bad ass!!

What have you got for nausea?  Zofran?? Is it helping?  Can you take on a regular schedule, like every 8 hours?

    Crackers? Ginger ale??

And Good morning all!  **waving Betty arms**

Last night I took Melatonin 3 mg and one of my progesterone caps.  heh heh heh.   Hoping a little hormone might help with some sleep, even tho it is not estrogen.  Prometrium is actually supposed to help with sleep and I'm sad to not be taking it anymore. BUT  **bad me**  I have a few left and I decided last night.  F* it all,,, I'm taking one.  OK, I slept relatively well!  Did not get out of bed until 9!!  Which is late for me.  Especialy since I have a haircut appt at 1030, so I gotta get a move on here.

I did wake up a few times, but was able to go back to sleep.  Feel a bit groggy, so wondering if the melatonin gives a hangover effect.  Hmmmm.     Tonight I will try the melatonin by itself and see what happens.

    back later

Thanks Glennie for the quick letter to Santa.. I do believe that he will answer anyone and maybe if we all bombard him with letters, my wish will come true. I have Zofran that I take every 6 hours and I am on the Dexamethasone (sp?) through tomorrow. If it gets too bad, I have compazine at home, but haven't ever had to take it. Tea and crackers seem to be the mainstay this morning.

Mine was so bad I piggybacked zofran and compezine every 4 hours. Chewed gum, drank ginger tea that I made and just kept up that hand to mouth with soup crackers and dry cereal.

I was eventually given Ativan at night to relax my stomach but it made me nap early the next day. Also took nexium. That helped and not on anything now. There is OTC but I wanted the heavy duty stuff.

There is also a patch. Bobo was on it. Phenergen comes in a suppository if needed but makes me sleep. I used nausea wrist bands with good luck before cancer. Unable to now due to Lymphedema.

Here's the video for JSJ nausea from markey. It helped me.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R11-jiBlbGU

PS. Watch out for constipation from too much anti nausea. It's horrible. Be proactive!

Can you take MLOA or STD until you get this controlled? I know working helps keep you occupied with something other than your stomach but I don't want you getting run down more so or catching something. Tis the season!

I am out of MLOA and the STD requires off work for 30 continuous days, which I negated when I came back to work. The constipation and acid @$$ from the chemo are something that is for sure. I am taking 4 senekot at bed and then take 3 Colace morning and night. I just keep thinking only 2 more big ones to go... only 8 total... I can do this....

Try gaviscon for acid. It's OTC. Nasty but works. Call dr and get script for Ativan and nexium for this weekend. I also received Ativan in my IV at infusion and that helped.

I'm so sorry about the acid, the working, lack of days, the cancer. It all sucks big time but my chemo worked so it's worth this misery. It's only temporary. Thank goodness. Don't be afraid to hurl. I always felt better afterwards. Take care.

Thanks Zills.I will get gaviscon and hopefully it will work. I made it until 11am and had to come home. Slept until 4:30 and am feeling a little better. I know if it works and it kills the cancer it is so worth it. I know with all of my friends, family in my corner and I can make it.

Good morning everyone,  I was up and out early this morning fir 2 garage sales in my street, one was a dead loss, an old man with a few rusty screwdrivers and some other junk. It made me laugh, he's sitting in the garage of a huge home with sweeping water views, a boat on his jetty and he's trying to sell junk I wouldn't even bother taking to the Opp Shop. The second one, however was fabulous, I bought some really lovely art, one an Aboriginal piece and the other by a known Australian female  artist. I also got more beads and a memo board for my studio/shed. I got home and sent Colin's carer straight down there, she had another job right after Colin, so I took over, she came back, to sign off, and was thrilled because she got lots of fantastic stuff for a newly renovated room in her house!

oh Jsj I am writing to Santa for you too! So glad Dr Z and Pharmacist Glennie are on the case, you're doing so well, you just blow me away! I know it must feel like it is near, but so far till Christmas. I wish you an easier time with the next one and hope you can get a handle on the nausea.

Glennie, sorry you are still having trouble sleeping. I know the flight attendants take melatonin and swear by it for disrupted sleep times. I meant to answer you the other day when you were talking about the Circadian Rythms, a Doctor told me that if you don't go to bed when you are tired, you only have about a half hour window and then you'll go into the cycle of another 3 hours, before that window comes around again. I usually have no problem sleeping, but when I was doing shift work it got screwed up and I could be up all night.

Wondering how our Bobo is doing and what has happened with MD, she's like a bad penny, when Bobo is sick.

    Waving to everyone! M x

you are right M !!    I read about Circadian cycles,, and there is a down cycle around 9-10pm where you naturally want to go to sleep.  It happens to me!  I get so tired, but must push on until midnight with work.  So then it is 1am before the next cycle for sleep.  Ugh.  I'm off this weekend, so I'll be able to get to bed early, but most of the time I can't do that. I'm a little better today, but still fighting headache.  Will keep on with the Melatonin for now and see how it goes.

Got my haircut today and my hairdresser knows all my woes. She had HX a couple of years ago and was miserable. Got all kinds of hormone tests done and is doing bio-identical hormones now and feels a million times better. She loaned me this book to read  (written by a pharmacist!)  Will read up on this before GYN appt on Thurs and see what I want to do,,, see if I can get GYN to order some more bloodwork.  Hairdresser says to quote book, progesterone is very important in menopause,,, so maybe I did a good thing by taking it last night. Sadly I only have 2 left!  I'm concerned that GYN may not want to go this route with me,, due to the BC,,, but I think my PCP will do it. She is very holistic minded, so we will see. I cannot be w/o sleep. This is really demetrimental to my health and with my job!! I could make error!  That would be very bad!!

How exciting that you found cool stuff at sale. We have big book sale this weekend. I always look forward to that.

Only text from Bobo:  MD is here.     no other message.  :(

we will letter bomb Santa for you, JSJ!!  ((HUGS))

Stacey, so sorry you are having a bad time.. Zils as usual gave some fantastic advice... I am keeping everything crossed that nothing delays your last two treatments and you finish before Xmas.

Glennie, again, I wish I had some advice for  you... I have the opposite problem with sleeping.. can't seem to wake up... can sleep through anything going on.  Hopefully you'll find the lucky combination of meds.

Dinner's almost ready... be back later or tomorrow..... baked ziti on the coffee table.  Dessert is chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting.

At the urging of my sister in law, we are watching last year's American Horror Story... omg it is SO good... going to try to get 4 episodes in tonight.

    xoxo

Had to rush Squeakers to the vet this afternoon because he took a turn for the worse. Called the vet approval line, but didn't get called back until after I came back from the vet. If they want us to get approval, someone needs to answer the damn phone. Was going shopping with a friend and she ended up getting us to the vet. I still don't have a car and it was absolutely pouring rain. We did go out afterwards for Greek appetizers and they gave us free dessert because it was my birthday. I'm still trying to get to the store to buy a new T shirt.
