Just got a call about a friend of ours Mom. She lost her battle with cancer. I thought the world of her. They are in another state so really out of the question but I hate it!

The funeral is Wed. Private ceremony. Going to try. Found a dress. Light orange, pink and magenta brush strokes. High necked and comfortable. Foobs work well. DH noticed. Hat matches.

Probably going to skip wig as it's hot and itchy. DH thinks hat ok. Just need to get family straight on why I shaved my head so Granny gets the same story. Need to make arrangements for boy after school.

Hope everyone is not laboring on this Labor Day. One more day of peace before the workweek madness commences and for Bobo the start of school!

I am working on labor day, Z!  Well not right now.  Right now I am writing you a note!  I am so so sorry for your loss.  Your outfit sounds really beautiful!  Please keep us posted.  We could go in the bag with you.

Just on another thread of really nice women in FL -- this is for Gramwe.  One of them had trouble with F-ing Femara, but changed manufacturers and now it is better.  See below!

You can look at the Femara (letrozole) makers on Google image to see what the pills look like, I take Teva, the yellow one, but previously took Mylan, the bright pink one, which is the one I had problems with.

How interesting about the femera. Worth looking into.

Be glad you are tall. You can be there for the princess. You can teach her the EF way to dress. You are not an ostrich. Silly girl.

The baby and I are height challenged. Never minded but now have to get help in the grocery for items on the top shelf! Just until I get range of motion back.

Well, I have to get help for the top shelves in the grocery store and there's nothing wrong with my range of motion. I'm 5'2" until they measure and say I've shrunk again.

Zills, Bad dye job had to be chopped off? Keep the hat on and I'll bet no one notices.

Bad kitty and guest continue to be separated by a door and stairs. He would like to play, I think.

As a child, my father convinced me that labor day meant you had to labor all day. That was his day to exchange screens for storm windows and do winter proofing. Of course, in Okla. winter arrives around Thanksgiving, so it didn't make much sense.

Sorry for another loss Zills, just too much. Love the sound of your outift, you will look just fine with a hat, like the story of bad dye job, she will just be glad to see your face and eyes I am sure.

Wren, not many Labor Day do we not work up north here as harvest is in full swing! When we owned the grocery store we could never have the day off either as busy time for the farmers! I was supposed to go to my part time job today but just got a call and dont have to until Wed.

Bobo, I need a Christmas miracle! it seems I can really sleep about the time I should be getting up to meet the day~ bad as a baby. I dont have any animals in the house to wake me anymore, but we have lots of cats outside, lost the black lab about a year ago. Still miss our Dakota! glad to see a big long haired black tom cat back for a visit and he looks good, he really looked tough this spring, think he got the crap beat out of him! Dang malesLaughing!

Well I am having company tomorrow afternoon, my dear friend and her daughter from San Diego (only D is from there) so I have to prepare something to eat, wish Gramwe lived close byCool, she could give me good ideas! So far thinking of either chicken salad on romaine lettuce, fresh tomatoes, cukes, celery from my garden or pulled pork on a bun with the veggies and fruit! What do you all think? It is a beautiful day here and is supposed to be all week. Today I made lasagna but used zucchini in place of pasta noodles, I really liked it, less carbs too. DH is harvesting so he will try it later!

Awww. Miss my black lab too.

Depends on how much work you want to do. Either sounds good.

Pork in the crock pot with a can of root beer makes the best BBQ and so easy. Just cook, drain, pull and add your favorite sauce. Adds a depth of flavor but doesn't taste like root beer. I like my BBQ sweet.

Bad dye job is a good idea. Haven't seen her since early April or late March. Hope her eyesight isn't too good and won't notice my thin brows and lashes.

I am totally going to make that lasagna with zucchini instead of noodles.  Did you use a vegetable peeler to make the 'noodles'?  Or a mandolin?

Hmm.  Am vegetarian so am going to abstain from the vote.  I think crock pot BBQ would be easier.  Whoops, I voted.

Zills your outfit sounds perfect. Paint on some eyebrows if you think they are needed, just be careful you don't give yourself that surprised look. As for foobs make your own decision, I have gone out very very very often without them, no one seems to notice, been told I looked like I've lost weight a great compliment for me, been told I look younger another great compliment, but no one has ever said you have no breast, I honestly don't think people notice.

OG came home sooner than I expected, gotta go cook. Be back later. Hugs

He left again, {cover your eyes Bobo} and the pork chops were not thawed. Did y'all know you can't scroll back with the edit function. Fiddle Sticks.

So she shall make another post.

Nd, I'd do the chicken salad and fresh veggies, the veggies will be gone before long so enjoy them while you can. My tomato plants are finished! I remember years past of still picking fresh tomatoes well into Oct, one year on Christmas Day! But this year has been a bust.

BBQ Pork with root beer, that sounds interesting. So does the egg plant noodle lasagna. (SP) That looks misspelled. Anyway I need more info. Can ya tell I'm starving?

    He11 hes back again. Geezzeeee.

Good morning all from fog shrouded Paynesville! It has been as thick as soup since last night. I can barely see past my fence, it is quite eerie.

It is wonderful o see so many posts, but I am worried for ldesim too. I hope she is off having a ball somewhere and not exhausted from work. I do fear the latter.

ndgirl, no you didn't lead me to believe it was an Amoena, I just assumed because we have nothing else here. You have such an array of brands to choose from. I am just so thankful for the internet!

Zills, I am so sorry to hear of another loss for you.

I love the sound of your outfit too. I imagine it is still very hot there. I have never really been a hat wearer, but I did wear them for the races, horses, I mean. I always wore a scarf on my head, tied low at the nape of my neck with the hat on top of that. If you could handle the warmth it would put an end to any excuses for no hair...just a thought.

Bobo! I cannot believe you got to sleep in! What genius, to remove Bobo's collar! Hug DLLP for me. The children stayed quiet too. There must have been an aligning of the planets that took place till 9.10am!

I just laugh at the thought of that counsellor being so confudilicated by you. I bet you are still thought of when he gets a slightly "difficult" case.

I have never been to therapy per se, but many years ago when I was as yet undiagnosed with food allergies, someone in their infinite wisdom thought I should go to a group thing for phobias. It was the funniest thing ever. My symptoms were a strange sensation like I was falling backwards, while standing upright, migraine, and not being altogether thrilled at going out into large crowds because of that. I was deemed to be agoraphobic by some genius! So not true!

Anyway, I was thrown into this amazing group of phobics who were so bloody entertaining, I loved going there! Not really an agoraphobic tendancy! LOL

Anyway, the people I met were having a hard time with a number of unusual fears, the strangest was of "buttons". Her worst fear was to be confronted by a jar of buttons. Everything she wore had to be altered to have press studs instead of buttons. You'd have to wonder what kind of encounter she must have had to make this her nemesis. I found it all so interesting, but got into trouble all the time for being too empathetic, or sympathetic with these people who were being forced to face their fears in what I considered to be the most silly and sometimes cruel ways.

Needless to say, the poor Doctor just scratched his head with me because I just didn't fit in any of his boxes. I could go out in public, even to large stadium concerts and had no issue coming to the meetings, so agoraphobia wasn't really my thing. I think he was really relieved when I was finally Dx with allergies. No milk and no wheat cured the symptoms in a few weeks.

I am wondering what a Condo Comando is too. I wonder if it is the trendy proffessionals who live in the new apartments?

We don't have any rules about wearing white.

Dex is just fine, he's looking very smart since I groomed him. He has had many positive comments on his lovely haircut. He looks like a different dog.

Colin is complaining loudly about his haircut. I am ready to slap him! I cut his hair yesterday and he says it is too short, so I am hearing the whinging from the bathroom that he will need a scarf to keep his neck warm. I tell him we have had the warmest Winter on record, and it isn't changing any time soon! He is just a closet "Mullett" admirer! LOL and he'll never win, with me as his hairdresser!

Posting in case I lose this! M x

I have just heard thtat my parcel from MyUs is coming today, must be off and get showered and dressed or Barry will arrive with me still in my dressing gown and foobless!

    Chat later...M x

Just put the pork in the crock pot and pour in a can of root beer. Any brand. Cook however many hours. Pour off, shred with fork and top with your favorite sauce. Done.

I had the same cut and the same sauce but one was cooked with the root beer and one without. Huge difference in taste. Even DH noticed the difference and he didn't notice my foobs the first time!

They are trying to get my Granny a special viewing so she may not be there for the service. I think she should do both if she's up to it.

But good idea about the scarf. It's supposed to be cooler and I'm told the funeral home is cold. Now need to dig out a sweater too.

A condo commando is a snow bird retiree. He comes around thanksgiving, lives in a condo. Part time resident, wants to run things his way, the way it's done up north.

Jimmy Buffett has a line in one of his songs, condo commandos, matching belt and shoes.

Oh dear, I am behind yet again!!

3 weeks post op today!!  I do feel so much better, just as you said Zills!

It is taking me longer to get back to "normal" after all the rushing around during DS's visit. Saturday and Sunday I slept in until 10:30/11:00, went to bed about 2AM.  Had been waking up around 8:00AM and not able to go back to sleep.  Monday I slept until noon!!  Went to sleep about 2:30AM.  But still feel tired after being up only a couple of hours.  Yesterday ran to the grocery store and that was it for the day for me!  Hope this passes quickly.

Zills so sorry to hear of yet another loss for you!  Indeed, too much.  Your dress sounds perfect and the hat if it isn't too warm.

The root beer in crockpot w/pork sounds good, but I wonder if it would be as good with sugar free root beer?  Can't have the sugary one. :(

ndgirl, my DD made me the most delish eggplant and zucchini lasagne!  She made enough that I had 5-6 meals to freeze for later.  She uses 1/2 eggplant and 1/2 zucchini for the faux noodles.  It is soooo good!!

bobo, glad to see you got to sleep in. Genius idea to take off the dog collar!

Airom, agoraphobic! Really?  You are the least agoraphobic person I can think of!!

Waiting for nurse to come. Don't know how she will react to the fact I gave up on the neosporin and bandages.  The smoke has been thick the last couple of days so no sun to bathe in unfortunately.  Incisions just look like dark scabs now, that can't be bad.  Tiny bit of weeping in the night as I am rolling around in bed but hardly anything.

I too am wondering where our ldesim is.  Hope it is fun what ever she is doing, not working too hard.

    Morning...foggy again today, very strange!

gB, three weeks is really just a blink of an eye in the grand scheme of a surgery like this. We really expect so much of ourselves, too soon. I was just the same, I am sure we all were.

I really believe we get a huge burst of adrenalin, or something right after the op. I know I felt like I was bulletproof!

You've just powered along, and got so much done, but your body is saying slow down. Take every opportunity to rest that you can, you'll feel so much better for it. Just go with the flow for a bit, and you'll feel much stronger. It really is just time now, someone told me it takes a month, for every hour, you are "Under", I kind of believe that, because it was months before I started to feel I could trust myself not to "Hit the wall" after a bit of activity, and my surgery was about 3.5 hours.

Although we come through this, and feel great, we've been through a brutal onslaught. I think our subconscious has taken it all in and it's calling the "sleep shots" for a while!

It sounds like the sun has helped a lot with the incisions. Years ago they used to use those heat lamps to dry out the scar, but I prefer the Sun if it is there to utilise.

Take care gB, it will be done before you know it. M x

Yep, agoraphobic! I couldn't believe that was what they thought either!

Good evening gang. Good morning M.

Today was Bobo's kids first day of school. I bet they are excited and have lots of forms to fill out.

Yes GrammaB. Sleep while you can. Glad the incisions are better.

My kitchen is yellow. Was that color when we moved in. I like it. Not sure about orange or avocado even though I like orange. Just need something to hide the dirt.

Wonder about Idesim. Maybe she had a long weekend somewhere there's no service. There are a few spots still out there.

Going to be an early night for me and hope to sleep all night.

Sweet dreams all. Have a good day M even if it is foggy.

    Hi Zills!

I hadn't realised this was first day back at school for Bobo. I'll bet the house was buzzing!

Colin is going out on the boat today. He has our gardener friend and the next door neighbor lined up as crew. The mist is lifting, and the water is glassy, but there is no wind so they will be using the new electric motor. Hopefully there is some breeze on the water.

It will be nice to have the house to myself for a few hours.

I was going to go  to get the plants for my new big pots, but may wait till after my quiet time in the house. I woke this morning to all my Orange Clivia bursting with color. This is the first year of this newly landscaped garden, so I will get to see how it will look, for the future. I am liking it so far.

I watched a story on TV last night with a sleep specialist. They are getting great results, over 80%, with sleep withholding. They set the bedtime to 1am, and set the alarm for 6am, I think for a couple of weeks and then they allow an hour earlier to bed for a couple of weeks and then another hour. I think they keep the get up at 6am, but they interviewed a woman who has been a terrible sleeper since childhood who swears by this method. She said she is sleeping 6 hours straight every night without waking for the first time in her life.

I hope everyone is well, and just busy..ldesim, I hope you are partying!....M x

interesting about the sleep story, maybe have to try that! would be tough at the start tho. Will have to google it. GB, yes take it slow, our body has a way of telling us that, I still have some days that I need to crash, but not every week anymore. They told me at Mayo that I and still pretty early out with all this. I think I was so glad to get home and try to be "normal" again, and prove to myself I could just bounce right back... Wrong! I do get a lesson taught to me every once in awhile now, but only just the last 3 weeks I havent had a bad day.. hope that continues but now I know when it happens to just go with it and slow down and rest.

Where is Idesim?? hoping all is ok.

Airom,  I can believe that.  I was under 4.5 hours, so I have a ways to go.  I have always believed that it takes a whole year to totally recover from any surgery, but the initial recovery period related to time under anesthetic makes sense.

You are so right, I have powered through a lot, part of it was I didn't want my kids to worry.  Now I just have to think about myself and sleep when I need to for as long as I need to.  It is sort of odd to put myself first.

Yes, the sun does make a difference in the healig, I wish the smoke would go away for a few days so I had some sun!

Hi ndgirl I saw your foob, and had a look at other merchandise from that company. Very interesting.

I bought a new Amoena bra on ebay recently and the lady sent me a crochet foob as a gift. It was so nice of her. I imagine it is like the knitted knockers our Bobo has been making, but not as fine. This is quite chunky yarn, so it needs to be in a thicker material bra or the dimples all show through:)

The sleep story I saw was on a show called "A Current Affair"on Channel 9 in Australia, obviously:) I am sure you could google that and find the story. M x

I know what you mean gB, about wanting to appear to be fine so no one worries. I think we are all a bit guilty of that:) We, as women aren't used to putting ourselves first. This is different, I believe, we do need to nurture ourseves.

I hope you get some Sun, and the fires are under conteol. It is awful for the people involved, and awful to have to breathe it.

    Have a good rest! M x

oh Zills, sorry about the icky tummy again, but if you cant make the funeral all will understand, things happen for a reason, but boy we sure dont know why most of the time do we> like this damn bc! hope boy and you are soon feeling much better. Cute poem for Idesim, she will love it when she returns!

Ariom, I wore my contact all day yesterday while I had company and it was very comfy, but toward the end of day I felt like it was coming loose a little bit on the top and toward my breastbone, especially when I bent over. I will have to look on Ebay for bras too, I got 2 amoena Mona bras and I really love the black one, the flesh colored is a little stiff but maybe after I wash it may soften up a bit.

Yep, GB we are used to taking care of everyone and everything but now things are changed around, so pamper yourself and get lots of sleep if you can, best natural healer there is. Take care
