My poor Jackson didn't get much sleep last night. Got woke up about 2 a.m. my time from a thunderstorm. Woke mommy, daddy and Princess up until it was over.

Dozer whines all day after DH goes to work - I try to give him my break times during work, but he just seems to want daddy... I have tried the peanut butter in a kong, playing fetch, training with treats. Any other ideas? I think part of the problem was that while I was gone up north, daddy took him to work with him. Now he expects it even though right now, he is too busy to take him with.

I started walking with a friend last week and have decided to take Dozer with - Hopefully, he doesn't go crazy when he sees the wildlife. Just thought if I took him with us, maybe his whining will lessen???

Kris is like that, if daddy is cutting grass, or home but Kris can't see him, he whines, paces, crys. I try to ignore this behavior.

Well ladies - I think I have solved the pulling issue with Dozer - I bought a Sporn non-pull harness last night and took him for a short walk to check it out. He pulled twice and then no more pull and was very happy walking together. Going to take him for a walk after work with a friend today. I will try to get a picture of him and his harness.

GMA, can't wait to see the picture.

My young dog did that whining thing too when we separated him from the older dog. I just tried to spend more one on one time with him. I brush him longer and play ball with him more. It has gotten better now that he is used to the new routine.

Mommy, thunderstorms are no fun in the middle of the night!! We have to medicate my older dog when there is thunder or fireworks. The younger one could care less.

Princess and Jackson are sticking very close to me since I've been home from the surgery. Got lots of kisses from my baby girl and a wet nose to the hand by my sweet boy.

OMG ... I love Dozer!!  He's so cute.

I've been reading this thread and enjoying everyone's dogchildren.  I have a huge 100lb black lab/rott mix.  His name is Tank and he's a big baby.  He'll only go outside if I go with him.  I lost my border collie Maggie three weeks ago ... she was 14 years-old and in poor health.  Her lungs were shot and she couldn't breathe.  I'm still so sad she's gone.

I'll try to find some pictures of them.

    hugs

Bren, my condolences to you on the loss of your Maggie. It's never easy to lose our furbabies. Welcome to this thread. Great picture of both of your dogs!! It seems like the bigger they are the bigger babies they become! Thanks for sharing them.

Bead ... I know what you mean.  I had a black retriever (another huge dog) who was by my side every step through treatment.  His name was Bobo ... what a lovebug he was.  He died about 5 years ago and I still grieve for him.  We got Tank a couple of months after Bobo died.  My DH is on the road all the time and I wanted another big dog that looked kind of ferocious.  Ha!!  Tank turned out to be a big bundle of love and sucks at being a guard dog.  His favorite thing is to "head butt" me while I'm working on the computer.  I work from home ... which is great ... so I get to be with him all day.

Thanks for the welcome!  Love hearing about everyone's babies.

    hugs

    Bren
