he's quite the gentleman and always wants to cuddle not sure how much I'll be in the mood to cuddle afterward surgery as he's around 60 pounds and doesn't pay much attention to where his feet are. The little guys (two lhasa apsos) are huge cuddle butts but for some reason the younger one likes to stand on my boobs, go figure.

I love Loki, paws crossed, surveying his world. My Jack does that too. Pics of Jack with paws crossed, wearing one of my chemo hats in solidarity, and a quick snap of my tiny garden this morning. Since the temps have risen and we've had lots of sun lately, things are exploding!

hahaha. He is being soooo good. Nice job with the plants. It looks very inviting.
Here is one of my young dog Jax. He's learned the fine art of begging really well.
Here is another. This is his tough guy look.

The dogs are adorable.......I want one so bad, but at 80, I am sure the dog would suffer, and probably run away yelping "get me away from this old broad"......LOL
My kids say "Mom the damn dog will outlive you.............I get no respect....LOL......but I can show you my little sweetheart who I had after rescuing him from a woman who left him at the Vets......Had to put him down when he was 13, dementia, blind, deaf, and you can see his little doggie diaper....I miss him so much....

I have a co-worker who does paintings, here name is Yoko Loftis. Once I was done with treatment she gave me this as a present. It made me cry. When she started working with us, she only painted humans and everything else. When we told her you can paint dogs and cats, she thought we were nuts. Now her business is doing better, take a look http://www.yokoloftis.com/

Katy, your garden is so inviting! And I love Jack! he is so adorable.Slow: Jax has got that begging down! LOL!
Ducky: your little guy was a cutie. My 82 year old neighbor got a new dog last year, and the dog is only 1 year old! You could do it. Tell those kids to be more respectful!
FairyDogMother: WOW!! What a great painting!! I love Cooper,, he looks like he is made of mischief!

FairyDogMother, what an awesome gift! You are one special lady to take in all those rescues. You really are a FairyDogMother!!
Ducky, I think you should get a dog. You're gonna be around for a good long time. They are excellent company.

Ducky, I must chime in with the others. Both you and your furry friend will benefit from this relationship.
It's about quality, not quantity anyway. This applies to all of us, regardless of age. Please think about it. Your deep caring for animals is evident. It is obvious you would make a very good doggie mommy

Ducky,
How about a cat? Maybe you could adopt an older cat.

Nor, please I don't mean to offend anyone........I could never own a cat......from a little kid I avoided cats at all cost.....when they come near me I cringe.........I think kittens are the cutest, but once it becomes a cat..............not at all......
I was having a mouse problem and someone said "get a cat"......I thought, oh that is never going to happen..........
I do however love dogs.........

I never really cared for cats too much either. Then I married Dr. Doolittle and we ended up with two rescues. Guess what? I feel in love with them both. I had difficulty getting used to a liter box, but we keep it out in the garage and the remaining cat uses a cat door to access the garage.

Ducky, I use to work in a shelter and we would wave the adoption fee for seniors if they took a senior animal. You can get a smaller dog and teach them to use a litter box.

We had to give Jackson calming meds on Thurs. night because of the city's testing where they will be shooting off the fireworks this year. Princess didn't like it very much either.

Snickers looks just like my beloved Squealler. He was a black lab/border collie. He has been gone 5 years now and I still miss him.

Adorable Ducky. Please read the stupid thread when you get a chance. I saw something on TV last night about seizures.
M0mmy, I have to give my old dog Benadryl on the 4th of July or anytime there are fireworks. He has always been so terrified of them. My young dog could care less.

Jackson is going to be 8 in July. He's always been terrified of them ever since he came to live with us. He hates thunderstorms too.

When my Aussie started to loose his hearing, thunder started to bother him. I gave him Rescue Remedy, it helped.
Bach Flower Rescue Remedy, with brandy base. Find at health food store.

Gonna look at Drs. Foster and Smith to see what they offer for calming meds. I get stuff for Jackson and Princess from there and have never had a problem.

I've ordered from them, I like them. Don't know if they have Rescue Remedy. People use it too.

Thanks for the suggestion Spookiesmom. The vet suggested the Benadryl. I wondered if they had something natural that could offer the same result. I will check it out for sure.

Found some calming bites they had on Drs. Foster and Smith for Jackson. He gets a biscuit for his leg as he did something to it back in '09 and every once in a while he starts limping on it, so we got him treats that have stuff to help the leg and joints as we know with his breed they are predisposed to having hip displasyia as they get older soon after the incident happened. We think that when he injured the leg, he was on the stairs and his nails got caught in the carpet on the stairs and that may have caused it. So far the treats we got for his leg seems to be working. He takes them with no problem and so we are hoping that once the order for the calming treats come in, that we won't have any problems with giving those to him either.
Couldn't leave Princess out of getting something special. Her Daddy told me to order a new toy for his baby girl.

My Aussie was allergic r to spring pollen. I gave him 100 mg Benadryl per day. It never slowed him down a bit. Me? I'd still be asleep.
