Jen -Love the pictures. It looks like you had so much fun! That is the one area I wish when I was overseas.
NY2TXbaby - Glad you are able to keep things moving with the treatment. I found just drinking A LOT of water is what helped. When it didn't Smooth Move Tea worked wonders. You just have to make sure you only drink one cup. I made the mistake of drinking two and it wasn't a good idea. LOL..
Everyone else I hope you had a WONDERFUL Turkey Day. We did here. Just kept it to the four of us. I did most of the prep work the day before so the day of it didn't take that long. Just a few more days and I will have my final Chemo treatment. I may not have to do Radiation but I will find out for sure next chemo treatment. Lets hope. I know I can't wait!

gastro Dr's nurse called today; polyps are benign, but says they are 'pre-cancerous'...what does that mean? Aren't polyps a pre-cursor to colon cancer just because they are there? So, come back in 5 yrs...
((HUGS)) stay warm

well I had an awesome experience today (I'm being sarcastic)...
So I had my cervix dilated so they could take biopsies of my uterine lining. When they did the transvaginal ultrasound in the hospital in October. Uterus lining was thicker than it should've been with all of the hormone suppressing medications that I'm on. Could possibly signal uterine cancer. But when she did the biopsy today, which by the way felt like someone had on cleats and was jumping on my bladder, she couldn't get a lot of tissue and I didn't have a lot of bleeding. So she said this was actually a good sign. She feels confident that the biopsy will come back negative but she is erring on the side of caution. We will get results back in 1 to 2 weeks. I know the odds are in my favor for the biopsy to come back negative but it's still a scary thought.
I'll have a hysterectomy scheduled for February (she wants me off steroids for 4-6 weeks before performing surgery). I should find out the exact date tomorrow.
Hopefully about 6-8 weeks after the hysterectomy I will be able to finish my reconstruction.
I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving. I do a neat thing with my girlfriends in Novemver. We text every day one thing we are thankful for. It really helps you focus on gratitude.
I blogged about it if y'all want me to post.
Lisa - if you PM me your email I will send you an invite to my blog.

Hi ladies -
Sorry I have been incomunicado...been wallowing in my 10 lb weight gain with a major pity party. Thyroid hormones out of whack since March. Soooo frustrating. Feeling fat, bloated, grumpy, irritable, etc - all the wonderful stuff that goes along with a whacked out thyroid. Course, can't blame it all on thyroid - chocolate, ice cream, hubby's incredible stuffing all factor in. All the weight loss progress out the window....arg!! Something I realized....I feel crappy with the extra weight, so all the more reason to buckle down and lose it again. Sigh! So thankful for all you ladies - you help me stay grounded and realize what is really important....and ten pounds is not important!
Cindi and Terri - Congrats on recent test results! I had five polyps, one pre-cancerous. I was thinking a three year return engagement, but I get to go to the dance again in a year (in July). Not sure why I get that honor. Thyroid cancer 15 years ago (officially cured), breast cancer one year ago, and now pre-cancerous polyp in the colon. I'm thinking I'm a cancer magnet about now. My oncologist says my results are typical for my age. I hate that!!
Happy belated Thanksgiving everyone! It sounds as if all had a great time with family and friends (and pups!).
We shot the Georgetown turkey trot Thanksgiving morning, then the First Responders half marathon in Waco on Sunday. We are part of the photography team for the Rock and Roll Marathon in San Antonio on Sunday. Thank goodness the weather will be decent!
My son starts grad school at Texas State in the spring. One of his professors asked him to apply for a Graduate Assistant spot. He got it! He will find out what that means, tuition wise, this week. Hoping the GA spot will cover tuition. We'll see. Meanwhile, he'll live at home while he goes to grad school. I love having him around.
Jen - I am behind on the pics but I promise to catch up by the weekend. I loved reading about your daily adventures. Still love you rockin' the orange hat!! San Marcos in January? I'm in!!
Kelsey - beautiful wreath and such a thoughtful gift. Congrats on finishing chemo! Ring that bell - we want to hear it in North Austin!!
Candy - half way there! It sounds like you're rolling right along without missing much of a beat. Having company even! You go girl!
Holli - Love the daily gratitude texting. It helps keep things in perspective and brings positive vibes to each day. Sorry you have another surgery or two in your future. Fingers and toes crossed for benign biopsy results.
Chaos - hoping you are healing, resting, and creating even more of your beautiful jewelry! Hope to hook up with you soon.
Linda, Becky, Zelda - how are things? January hook up? I say yes!

Love the pics everyone! Great shots, Vicki!
Holli, good luck with the results on the biopsy. If it's any help, when I had my HX, 9 yrs ago, it was pretty easy. Hopefully, it will be the same for you.
Cindy, I hope your hubbys' MRI and the rest of your Dr visits go well...nice that you can see your grandbabies. Aren't they are a great distraction?:) You look great! My DD has a double stroller for her youngest two and when I go see them, I take my dog; the 5 YO bikes or rides his scooter next to us, while I push the double stroller with the dog tied to it....I guess we must be a sight. Yay on your mammo!
I am going to try and get my C-mas decorating done this week. Last year, it was very minimal. This year, not so much!!! Tomorrow will be one year since my first chemo. Wow, didn't get any sleep the night before.
SM in January sounds great. A little pick me up after the holidays. Who's in? We can carpool from North if anyone wants to. Cindy, when will you be back to TX?
Have a great week everyone~

Jeni - welcome back! Did you see Doc Martin...
Vic - yes, I'm game too!
If, yes if, all is well home midJan...hubby's MRI is tomorrow, but results 12/24...yikes...they will call if problem...crazy...there is a problem...we get chest results Thursday so may get a sneak peek at MRI results...my RO this week and then rest ofteam over the next few weeks...with Zometa Jan. Vbishop- "eat-'em up cats"'!! What's your son getting his grad degree in? My husband is alumni and I'm a senior!! My husband likes to say he's married to a co-ed. Hee hee!! The college had a cool thing today. Story time with BOKO, cookie decorating, face painting. My son loves BOKO (the mascot). It was so cool!!

Yay Kelsey! so happy for you!
Holli- Yes- sometime in January. SM since we need to get close to you ladies that are south.
Those in SM, NB, and SA- please chime in and let us know what weekend would work best for you, and if you have a favorite place in SM to eat at. And if you can't make it, maybe we can bring the party to you!

Thanks everyone. It still doesn't feel real yet. Probably because the bone pain started this morning. So glad this will be going away.
San Marcos sounds good. And as long as it is a weekend I am game. I am still so new to Texas I don't have a favorite place yet.

Kelsey, hang in there! I remember my last TX and I kept telling myself, this is the LAST time I will have to deal with this... the LAST time!!! Your legs may start feeling heavy and you may be dragging for a couple of weeks. Just stay as active as you can until you get to the other side! I think it's bc of the low RBC's.
I don't know SM very well. I think Holli lives in SM...?
Cindy won't be back to TX until Mid-January. Cindy, what's your return date? Don't want to leave you out!
I can't wait to meet everyone!
Have a great week-end ladies!

yep... I'm in SM. I really like Palmers but it can be pricey. Y'all look at the menu and see what you think. Lunch shouldn't be too bad. If the group is big, may have to make reservation. I'll try to think of some other places too.
So... No endometrial cancer. Yea!!
Are y'all still having pain? Mine my be from weaning off the steroids, but my shoulder and neck and arm (the side they took all the nodes) hurts so bad. I go to PT twice a week. I hope once my my surgeries are done the pain will go away.
Anyone have a hysterectomy? I'm scheduled for February. But my hubby and I were looking for pictures of female anatomy before and after hysterectomy, we came across a YouTube video that scared the &@$* out of us. About how removing the uterus basically causes everything to cave in- spine, bladder, bowels. Oh my!!

Holli, yay on your biopsy! I had a HX/ooph 9 yrs ago. Wasnt too bad really. It was done vaginally; can't remember the exact term, but they made an incision in my belly button to use a scope! No big scars, etc. I'm sure everyone can't do it that way, but much less risk and less invasive. No heavy lifting for a while. I was tired for several wks after and that's all normal. Try not to worry about it. I was glad to have done, it even though it didn't prevent my BC like I thought it might . Of course, you are much younger, so you may feel differently about it. I had about 15 mins of grieving, out of the blue, a few months later. I cried for the loss of my uterus that carried my babies and got over it. It was weird. Hope that wasn't TMI. Can't wait to meet you in person!

Kelsey - Ooo who...so happy for you!
Holli - whew, no uterine cancer )) dating a coed:))) my sister had hx and no impact...said it was a good thing...hope your pain eases as you drop dosage and get off the steroids. Your home must be full of Chrismtas adventure with the little ones...enjoy!
Terri - hee hee TMI...the truth is good to hear. The plan is mid January so a late January Sunday would work for me...or afternoon on Saturday.
Chaos - how are you doing? Thinking of you:)
Jen - cute pic:)))
Candy - how are you GF? Hoping you are taking good care of yourself and hubby is spoiling you!
Headed down south sounds great...eager to meet up with y'all.
The sun is shining today...yeah, drove into LA to USC yesterday. Hubby will go back around 12/16 for more tests and biopsies to try and determine wherethe leak is in urinary system and growths in the neck of his neobladder. Next weeks will be cardio testing to ensure he can with stand the possible surgeries...may need to rebuild the neobladder...possible return of cancer geez:((( hoping to get her done & back to Rancho Mirage...my DIL finally consented to come out 12/19-12/22 for early Christmas celebration...gosh I want to squeeze and gobble up that sweet GS of mine...fingers&toes crossed...trusting The Lord will work it all together for good!
Getting ready to drag pup around the neighborhood...he's very stressed here...not a city dog for sure...he misses TX
(((Hugs))) to y'all
