How did I miss the Australian Shepherd part? I can't remember seeing anything about those anywhere! That was very funny though! I always like a good belly laugh! M x

Thanks for the picture, we just call them Sheep Dogs over here. M x

Yep, I get that now, but was there another post I missed, that they were mentioned in? They just seemed to arrive out of the blue, that's why it was so funny!!!! I just had to explain it all to Colin, you had to be there! LOL

The story on them is, they were brought to Australia by Basque sheep herders, from that region in Spain. Then brought to the US in the early 1900s, and developed here. Mostly in the western ranching parts. People recognized their brains and good looks. Aussies do it all. They are truly awesome. They are tied with Border Collies for smarts.

I could go on, but need sleep!

Thanks Spookiesmom! I love to watch the trials with them herding sheep. It is a bit of a sport here. I have never heard them called Aussies before. We are called "Aussies" so when Zills said 5 Aussies and 2 adults it just cracked me up! M x

I figured that was your take on it. It would be really funny if she'd meant people. I saw the national sheep dog trials on TV in London. Wonderful work. The grand winner was a man in his 70's and his 7yo dog. I'm sure the dog loved every bit of that.

We had a border collie/German shepherd mix when we lived in Houston. Houston has no zoning, so the people behind us had sheep. Our dog spent her day herding them back and forth along the fence. She would crouch and give them the eye and they would obey. Really fun to watch.

We had a friend years ago who had a Sheep dog, but they lived in the city, the dog would sometimes get out of the back yard. Our friend would come home from school and the dog had herded everyone from the bus stop, outside their house, onto their veranda. He would have to release everyone!

I must have missed it too ariom cuz I was envisioning a truck full of farting foreigners     Lol. But you can just never guess what's goin down on farm zills! So it seemed plausible. Bond feeds the dogs eggs for breakfast with their food. Reggie has enough of a gas problem without that. I can always tell when it has been a bolagna omelet morning.

The landlord situation is stupid but perhaps it will be a nice change of scene for her. Sounds like a better place already. Hope she gets it. Is housing hard to come by there?

The stuffed peppers were delicious. I suprised myself. Maybe I can actually cook a little. Overcooked the salmon though and it was a bit dry. I have a phobia of undercooked meat, and also of spoiled dairy but that's a different story. Cooked it in the NuWave and just couldn't get the temp to 150. After all the pizza talk, I'm going to use my leftover ingredients and make a pizza tomorrow. Thinking bell peppers, black olives and onion. Had my nightly dose of steroids so I'm thinking about food already of course.

Heard of yes to carrots. I will try it. As you know I try, well everything don't i?  I think I've seen it at target. Maybe that can be my outing tomorrow. The bags look awesome ariom. When is the event?  You are going to teach it, right?  You should record a video and teach is all your tricks.

Still to see what sleeping tonight will bring. Fell asleep on couch after dinner til 11:30. Tea time now before shower. Feeling pretty awake. I'm listening to an audio book when I lay down. The narrator is so hippy dippy sounding that it should be soothing. I have not fallen asleep listening once though. Which is funny because as soon as I hit play on a normal book, I am out like a light. It's a very interesting book so far. I heard about it on another thread. It's called mind over medicine. Could be all hewie, but there are some very interesting points. I've long wondered if I caused my bc by the excessive levels of stress I've always lived under. I think the cortisol issues could be a real thing. Triple negative is baffling like that, because there is no reason. But something must be going on for so many very young women to be affected by it like they are.

Gosh I am a rambler these days. I think the pressure just has to push out all the random thoughts to make room for my brain to sit. Lol

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday ahead.

that's so cute ariom. Those dogs are ao smart. I love watching the agility competitions. And of course the herding always makes me think of Babe the sheep pig. I also love the trick dog show people. Most of them rescue those dogs who can be Mutty but they train them up just as well as any breed. Perhaps one day I will travel the county fair circuit with a pack of Mutty dogs in sparkly tutus....  Need to think of a name for my traveling dog show.

Thank you DP, I am glad it wasn't just me! lol

We have the opposite with Dex, when he had his big surgery, the Vet old me he has a "delicate" tummy now, so I should give him Pro Biotic Dog food. I have done that since the operation and he never farts. I kid you not, we have never heard or smelled a far from this dog. The other wonderful thing, is he has the sweetest breath of any dog, just like a puppy all the time. It is a real testament to how good the pro-biotics really are.

The bags are coming together well. There was so much stock, that everyone gets 5 full size foundations in a range of colors, that's over  $300 on its own, 8 single eye shadows, powder, blush, bronzer, eye pencil lip pencil and there is more coming.

I am a great believer in high stress causing all kinds of ailments, not just cancer. I know that if I get sad and stressed, my Rheumatoid goes nuts. This Dx was after a hugely stressful year, my Mother was Dx after my Dad passed away. You hear the same kind of story over and over......There is something in it.

I will have to see about that ProBiotic dog food for Ava. She has stinky breath. The no grains dog food I give her seems to keep the farting problem under control, but some of the neighbors feel her regular biscuits, and well, then she gets the farts. I hate to tell them NO, cuz they really enjoy feeding her.  I did have to say no to the doggie ice cream tho, cuz the last time it gave her diarrhea.  We don't need that.

Wow, that's a huge amount of makeup. That is so wonderful that you got so many donations.

And I agree about the stress. It is definitely bad for your body. I think it is a contributing factor to many ailments.

DP: have you ever tried Newman's Mango Salsa?  I tend to over cook fish myself,,, like you, I have a thing for it not being undercooked. And the mango salsa is great on the slightly dried out fish!  Also good on eggs. And probably a lot of other things.

Wren:  sheep in Houston?  Who would have thought?  I love the herding story!  That must have been hysterical to watch. Those dogs definitely need a job.

feeling good this morning. The night turned out good. Pondering hitching a ride to the casino....  Am I crazy?  The family party got cancelled for today. So I could have a lazy day of no worries or head north. Hmmm. Bond says I should go because he felt so bad when I begged to get out of the house yesterday. I have lots of lazy days available. I guess if I go and start feeling bad, I could make them give me a free room. They always seem to come up with one for me. Even when they are booked. Hmmmmm

If you feel up to it, go! I bet they would find  you a room if you needed to lie down.

Glad you got a laugh. They do call them Aussies here. It was the cattle truck that broke down, hauling 8 back from a show. So no farting Aussies in the cab. DH got home at 6!

Have walked to see Tina. No calf. Ate at McDs. At the park. Hard to keep them quiet at home. It's a beautiful day. Cool!

Awesome bags. I only kept the eyebrow pencil from the look good, feel better class.

Yes to carrots online has a travel set if you didn't want big tubes. Yes to cucumbers is for sensitive skin but found yes to carrots more moisturing. Don't like the day cream. Love the daily cleansing cream and night cream. Fragrance free. Same as baby line.

Going to a cooking demo for cancer patients and families at a local farm tonight. Something different.

I too wait for a cow update!  Good boy Vulfie!  He looks like such a sweetheart.

Grading papers.  Up to my neck with my two jobs and desperately awaiting a casino update.  If I opened that goody bag at your party, M, I would squeal with delight!  I am so happy for those ladies.  They really deserve a treat.

    Anyone want to grade papers?

I miss grading all the English 111 essays!  Wait, did I just say that aloud?  I love HS seniors taking college freshman writing thinking they would dazzle me with their bs.  Seriously, I do miss my kids!  Don't work too hard Bobo.

Zills-How is Tina?  The longest it took me to have a child was 6 hours-can't imagine what that poor cow is going through!

DP-how is the casino?  We need a report! I hope you are having a marvelous time!

    Glen nice-are you working today?

ahhhhh, what a cute baby.Glad Tina's boy is here.

I am working today,, I work every other weekend.  Fun times. I've done it for so long I don't know what I would do if I had every weekend off.  But since I work evenings,, it's cool.  Still have time for stuff in the mornings. Went to an excellent brunch this morning with the Sisterhood at my synagogue.  Great food!! We had a speaker about dementia/Alzheimers. Not the most thrilling topic.  At one point, she asked everyone to stand up for a balance test,, to stand on one foot. Well, one of the old ladies fell over. That really dropped a lead balloon on the talk. The lady was ok, fortunately. Probably not the best thing to do when a good part of the crowd is over 75,, but some of them are in great shape. This one lady is 89 and still plays tennis!!  Maybe I should take that up?  Is tennis the secret to longevity??

I've never played it in my life.

I am so pleased to see that baby! I was thinking about Tina last night, out in the dark on her own and laboring away all that time. It wasn't a pleasant thought. Great result though!

Yep, I am pretty happy with the way the goodie bags are turning out and I am going to do a basket to raffle too. We have been invited to have a stand at a local Expo in October to spread the word about our little group and the services available to women who are Dx in the region. We really have so much, for a country area, it is quite amazing. So we may make some mad money for the group from the raffle. We want to take another trip to Melbourne for the new members to see and experience the Living Center. They give you a day of pampering and have lots of information etc. We can do it in a 1 day round trip in a bus, so the raffle can help pay for that!

DP, go to the Casino if you feel up to it, you always enjoy going and you might just win something!

Glennie, I am sorry to hear about the lady falling. I remember every question that they asked when my Mother was being assessed for Dementia. What a vile disgusting disease that is.

I have never played Tennis either. I have a friend who is a serious Tennis coach now and has played all over the world. He tried to teach me once, years ago, but I was a terrible student, just dissolved in laughter all the time, not serious enough for him.

I couldn't believe it, last night I got my email for the sales opening on Ozsale and there was "Yes to Carrots" and "Blueberries" and "Cucumber" what are the chances?

Going in to town for an advanced facial today!! Catch you  later...M x

oh, M,,, I wish we could all be there for the fun. Sounds like you are have great group!!!

Dementia is horrible.  One of my friend's husband,, had both parents with Alzheimers.  His chances of getting it are really high. His wife and I were talking about it today, as I was telling her about the brunch. Everytime he forgets something,, they both wonder,,, is it starting?

oooo, on the Yes To Carrots, etc,, are you going to try some?

    work is bad,,, back later.

made it home before dark. Haha that never happens. I was with grandma though so on good behavior. I finally convinced her to not have to stay in sight. It was honestly the best place I could be. It was dark and cool and pretty quiet considering. And it sure beat the hell out of watching tv. I'm so sick of my couch and tv and bed. Unfortunately I didn't bring home any money. But it was a fine investment in my day. Also had a really pleasant time visiting with grandma and I know she enjoyed it too.

Grandma was telling me about one of my great aunts today who was diagnosed a year ago with dementia and Alzheimer's. Her memory has been steadily declining. I'm not sure how it came about, but her dr called her in last week and said that the diagnosis was all wrong and that all her problem is that she doesn't get enough oxygen I her brain and that it is completely curable. How fantastic is that? But also how bizarre to figure out a year later. Does the dr have dementia?

Ohhhh a baby fuzzy boy cow. So sweet.

Ariom you really should come visit the states in all your adventures. My mom loves importing Aussies, I could give it a try. She is still set on moving there.

So thrilled you had a good time, DP! Your Great Aunt was misdiagnosed?  That is great!  My dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.  I knew there was something wrong and took him to the neurologist.  I also had to take his car keys.  He was very high functioning until the cancer. He couldn't remember what he had for breakfast, but 1945 was crystal clear!  Oh how we laughed! Even though it has been said that it doesn't run in families, I get very nervous when I forget things. And I forget a lot! Drives my DD2 crazy!

Oh wouldn't we have fun with M here in the states!  We would all have to have one heck of a party!

Hope you get some sleep tonight, DP.  Maybe the outing will help.  S
