Nancy, It was probably another bird stealing the eggs. We had robins nesting under our deck roof and crows kept trying to get them. One year we had a nest and a hawk got the Mom. Life is perilous for birds.

    Nancy, I'm sending you hugs.

Yes, Wren, it could be many things. This nest was in such a confined place I can see it being a smaller bird perhaps. I live next to any empty field and many robins have been hanging out there looking for worms so I'll never know if the Mama moved on or what. They usually have four eggs from what I have read and since she had only three I suppose it is possible she could lay more eggs. They usually build a new nest for their other sets of eggs though. I had a baby robin in my front bushes last year and there was only one. I didn't know there were eggs so I don't know what happened their either.

Cathy, thank you. It has been a difficult weekend for sure. In our paper today they published the data on nursing facilities and I live next to a nursing home with only this empty field between us. They have 80 infected and 11 deaths. Last week it was 59 infected and 7 deaths. So these statistics are really scary to read and know how vulnerable my Mom is. She has not been eating and only drinking Ensure so she can't go on like this indefinitely. It is so hard not being able to see her. My sister did get to sit outside her patio door and with both of them wearing masks she got to talk to her. I have a feeling that practice will not be allowed now since this happened right before they took this person from the facility to the hospital.

I will have to share some pics of my orchid that I had told you all I splurged on in mid March and had one delivered to my house. It is so pretty. I have three or four flowers that just started opening the other day.

    Take care everyone.

    Nancy

Nancy, I'm sorry things are so scary for you. I pray you and your Mom will be alright. How come she isn't eating, only drinking Ensure?

Cathy, my Mom's picky eating has been a concern for many years. She has dementia and has convinced herself that she doesn't like most foods. She was pretty much existing on soup and the facility told us that she is not eating that now. She is on an appetite stimulant now which she just recently started. She is 94 and this is not unusual for this to happen in the elderly. It is not a good sign for sure. Thanks for your prayers. My sister and I really need them now.

Lisa, the moon last night was beautiful. Nice shot.

I went out with my camera for the first time since Dec. I needed a mental health day with things piling up. I had xrays of my hand and tailbone yesterday and I have to repeat bloodwork tomorrow for possible kidney function issues.

My old photography teacher has a blog and I was itching to get out and find some Bluebells. A preserve not too far away was supposed to have breathtaking bluebells in his words. It was very impressive. Here are some pics of the day.

Nancy, I'm sorry you have so many health issues going on. I pray you feel much better soon and don't feel things piling up so much.

Blown away by the beautiful bluebells AND by how very different the bluebell is in the US. These are bluebells in Irelnad (in my backgarden as it happens, a nice surprise that came up in April as I had not planted them!)

Thanks Cathy. After a couple of days of feeling lousy again I felt better today and went out with my camera in the wood again hunting for Bluebells at a different town.

Feelingfine, your bluebells are awesome. Boy, I wish I would have some of those come up in my backyard by surprise. I actually do have some Columbine that is a pretty color of bluish purple that have taken up a spot by my patio purely by accident and they are really getting bigger and bigger each year. No flowers yet. Yes, it looks like there are different varieties of Bluebells. My photos are Virginia Bluebells. I am not sure if yours are English/Spanish Bluebells but whatever they are they are beautiful.

I got some interesting wildflowers today on my adventure into the woods today. I will have to post some after going through them.

I got some pics of migrating warblers on a couple of different days which was a fun treat. I should have had my bird camera today. Lots of interesting birds sounds today. The woodpeckers are most interesting providing a drum beat along the trails.

Lisa, your pool looks very inviting. In this Pandemic I really sorely miss my swimming as the YMCA's are closed along with most everything else. I thought of you when a new screen saver popped up on my laptop the last couple of days of Balboa Park. It was not flowers but an interesting architecture of ??????????

Enjoy the rest of your week. Spring is really popping here in Illinois. The ornamental trees are budding and they are always so pretty this time of year. We have leaves on our trees now. It is always amazing that all of a sudden it happens slowly and then you know it is spring when they are in full bloom.

We have blue flowers in the front of our house that look more like Feline's than the Virginia ones. They tend to take over and spread like crazy and there's no getting rid of them. I think they're called Siberian Squill here. A man walking by our house told DH our yard was certainly blue. This was after the daffodils and tulips were gone. Our house is painted a deep blue with gray trim.

Wren, I would like your yard. I love blue.

Cathy, thank you. I finally broke down and scheduled a visit with an ENT since my sinus issues and now ear pain have not gone away. I couldn't get in to my ENT I had seen before until two weeks away so I am seeing another one on Friday. I sure hope this does not entail surgery. I have had that done before many years ago. How's the house coming along? Feeling like home now?

Nancy, I'm sorry you're still having symptoms and needing medical attention. I pray your appointment on Friday goes well and you don't need surgery. I'm sorry things are so stressful for you. How are you coping? How's your Mom doing?

The house is coming along slowly. We have put more pictures up and put more things away but the garage is still half full (apart from the car) and we have a lot of sorting to still do. It will take months. It feels a bit more like home but it's still a big adjustment. Thanks for asking.
