barbe1958. . .I was part of the 6 person photography crew so did not actually raise funds, but they will raise more by selling our photos to the walkers and others. I'll have to ask next year how much they make from you the photos. Dh and I also bid on and won a fancy custom pink Honda lawnmower with BC ribbons on it. Will be photographing him cutting our grass with it. Honda made three of them specially for BC auctions.

Scottiemom in an earlier post you said they raised $1. I'm sure they raised more than that!

barbe1958. . .that was a typo. They raised over $1 million with nearly 1000 walkers.

Cubs win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooo. My Dad would have been over the moon. He was such a die hard Cubs fan. They haven't been in a World Series since 1945 so it was time.

Enjoyed a beautiful fall day today. Yesterday I was so excited. At this marsh below where I usually find egrets and herons there was what I am 90% sure was a pelican. Really unusual for these parts but they have been migrating through Illinois a few hours south of here. Of course my camera was in my car as I was scoping out which lens I wanted to use. It flew away pretty quickly. i went back today and no pelican. I found some interesting weeds and wildflowers instead.
I think the ladies are right that it is an armadillo.

I went to my church campus to get some fall pics yesterday. It is a pretty setting. For those of you who don't see cornfields very often I thought I would include one. In all of suburbia here our church is located next to a cornfield. I thought I would experiment with some sunbursts. The leaves have not peaked here yet but are getting pretty. I upset a bunch of Canada geese as I was walking over to this other pond on our campus. I bet there were between 100-150 geese there. After getting near the pond and seeing my shoes afterwards I wondered if it was worth it if you know what I mean.

Got a few final farewell photos of the Meihem twins today (collage). The other two pixs are from a year ago. I went first thing this morning, hoping they would be outside. They were not, so I had to fight the glare on the glass once again. I spoke to the keeper and she said that it was going to be too hot this afternoon for them to go out and they don't always cooperate with planned moves from one exhibit to another so taking them outside this morning was not a good option. Oh well.
