BC sisters, please jump over to VMB at Heartbroken and Devastated in the Stage 111 threads. She just received her diagnosis at 35 years old. She is in a crisis and needs support.
Thanks,
Bell

Bell, You are a beautiful and generous soul. I also read the publication of VMB and felt all her anguish, but I did not know what to say ... I am standing in a different place because of my age, plus I'm pretty newie too... I didn't have the idea to do what you did ❤

Yndorian1,
I just felt her desparation and since it was a new thread I was afraid no one would see it until later today. I knew she needed feedback quickly. The Mods responded to her before I could give them a heads up! They are on top of it as usual💜

Fuck you breast cancer. I hate what you stole and what you steal without warning. I just went to renew my license. I actually had a beautiful start to my birthday weekend. Lovely date with my husband last night, decent sleep but for usual shoulder (radiation) pain. A romantic night that ended somewhat romantically (hopefully for my husband at least, despite turning a few heads in a red dress, my sex drive has been gone with the wind since 2012 but for a few sporadic reunions with my old self).
As expected the lines at the license bureau, the fees, the people who work there...its ok. This year I am ready. This time I have patience. Something to read. This time...this time I have hair.
This time a very gruff but kind and merciful woman helped. Then it came...do you want to be an organ donor? " I can't....they don't want them". Despite being a healthy looking blonde (gray) 48 year old 132 lb 5'7 woman..."I am a 2 time cancer survivor." It all went downhill from there.
I was doing the vision test wrong to my utter embarrassment...she helped me. I was told there is a new type of license we have to get now to be able to fly starting next October she tells me. Lets get it now I think....but there are documents needed she says...a passport ( I don't need a passport to go to all of the countries in Epcot I chuckle to myself...we'll be in Future world, Mexico, Norway and Germany in one afternoon ...then to England for dinner). I'll need a passport to fly...not to vote and control how things are run in this country or have a say on whether this behind the times state will allow death with dignity....what does anyone not facing a terminal illness know about dignity? Loosing your mind at the license bureau?!?)...to just be a passenger. To escape. To go somewhere where chemo, doctors, painful reminders arent lurking. Where oceans and mountains and casinos and relatives who you only see every other year ...once or twice in a lifetime....welcome you with open arms and let you embrace them and the moment. I was in tears thinking how I was so happy...so happy to have hair today. Good hair, makeup on today...and this for once nice looking license picture could outlive me. Outlast my hair before the next return. Now I have to chance a new license with the proper documents (wtf) next year....more money, more risk....will I even be here? Will I have hair? a puddle .... a mess.... I wasn't expecting this today. I hate you cancer. I hate you forever.

I was Life Entitled and I want it back.

Oh dear, if anyone would ask if I want to be an organ donor, I think I'd roar with laughter. Uterus gone, cervix gone, ovaries gone, about a third of one cheek gone, third of a breast gone, one kidney gone...
Shit, I should weigh MUCH less than I do!

I do belong in À Steam Room.-I do belong in the 6 month room.
Does anyone know of a place to go to let off steam and anger, other than here. I respect you all too much to whine about some things that have nothing to do with BC. I have had a Brain Injury. Brain Injury sites don't seem to have a Steam Room.
Since you don't have seives for brains, and can remember things, perhaps you can give me suggestions.
Mahalo, NancyB ♥️🐾

Jack-Bear- go ahead and let off steam, people let off steam and anger here for other things than cancer.

Jack-Bear, I just read a really good memoir by a woman with a brain injury called Prognosis. Author Sarah Vallance.

Nancy, steam away!
My son has an acquired brain injury. It comes with its own set of problems and I can’t imagine adding cancer to that.He was a successful married dad and now lives with us because his wife left him. I understand the frustration. I see it daily when I try to get him to do even simple things. His memory isn’t great but it’s better than it was. It is a constant struggle for all of us.

I am steaming that this crappy disease is going to take the life of a dear friend! He’s been fighting this disease for a while now and it’s gotten to where there is no hope for him! I don’t want to say goodbye to a great guy! I’ve known him for over 25 years and this is not fair to anyone who has ever known him! I Hate Cancer!

MOmmyof2: I'm so sorry... I can imagine how are you feeling. Of course it is not fair. I send you a big hug

Thanks. I am in total shock and so heartbroken. He was always like a little brother to me from the first day we met. He always pulled pranks on me that would make me sputter with exasperation. It’s going to be so hard to hear when the end has come for him.

Breast Cancer is Unacceptable
More than 3.8 million people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with breast cancer and this devastating disease kills more than 42,000 people each year. That is unacceptable. We're committed to saving lives and creating a world without breast cancer.
1 in 8 women
in the U.S. will get breast cancer in her lifetime

Leidy, I have had hypothyroidism for about 15 yrs and know exactly what you’re talking about w the constipation. My got resolved pretty easily when I switched from generic to name brand Synthroid. My pharmacist & my brother (also a pharmacist) both said that generic doesn’t work for many people. I always know when my levels are off bc that damned constipation starts up again. Good luck w this bugger!! Btw, my PCP told me that estrogen affects the thyroid too.

Aloha Ladies!
I made notes.🤣
MOmmyof2 I am so sorry you are losing a dear friend to something so evil there are no words to properly call it..
Wanderingneedle It is hard to lose mental capabilities. I'm sure you understand. I'm so very happy your son is improving. My auto accident was sometime before 2000. Can't remember when. I lost conciousness, had a concussion, I had some amnesia. I found a neurologist to see me & had no one to go with me to remember what he said. I thought I had recovered , but getting stupid, Found someone from High School who knew better. In 2019 my husband has noticed a decline in my brain capability. I am getting diagnosed& help or treated now.
jaycee49 Thank you for the author & name of the book. I will check our library. The funny thing is, I still love to read. Can't remember authors, titles, plots. what it was about or if I read it. Same with movies & TV shows. I can get lost in a paper bag.
Oh, I have something in my middle or inner that has a name. Tinnitis. Vertigo. Osteoarthritis in my neck. back, hands. Carpel tunnel syndrome. Fibromyalgia. An awsome New Hip. Today I visited a neuropsychologist & my seive/brain was tested. My grandson showed me now he can snap his fingers, I showed him.....Surprise, I can't anymore. My hands aren't up to playing music.I started piano in 2nd grade & harp in 7th. I used to ring the Biggest & heaviest Handbells in the choir I helped start.
mistyeyes I left Central Fl for HI and know where Homosassa is😉
Thank you for letting me vent. I feel better.
NancyB 🐾🤙♥️

Jack, My library doesn't have Prognosis. I got it as one of those once a month free Kindle books for Amazon Prime members. Amazon has the Kindle version for $5.00 if you do that. This author has some similarities to your case. She fell off a horse and seemed fine but obviously was not. Medical professionals she saw were really not helpful. She did a lot of research on her own and made her own way back to where she feels comfortable. Stable. Living her life as he wants.

pge sucks! They have defected equipment that they never fixed so now we're going to have shutdown that can last days since fire danger is high. Mfuckers!

And thanks to PG&E, SDGE and SCE are doing the same in SoCal. If you look at the combined outage maps, practically the entire western half of the state could be without power for up to a week. SCE just updated their site last night to include even more towns. I'm still not listed but the town next to me is, so I know I'm still not in the clear.
And I'm sure that PG&E will use the $18 billion settlement as yet another excuse as to why they can't/won't update their 100-year-old equipment and trim trees like they should have been doing all along. In fact, I've read a few articles that already say this is going to be the "new normal" in California because of climate change and we just need to get used to it.

OK, CA people, DH and I have been planning a trip to visit DS and wife in San Jose for a while. We are supposed to leave this Monday, Oct. 14 and stay for a week driving out and staying at the beach several nights. What are the chances that this trip will get messed up by PG&E? What are the chances we will have no idea what will be going on power-wise until we get there? This is so sick and annoying.

Jaycee I wish there was an easy answer for that. The second wave of shutoffs is supposed to start tonight and will impact the Bay area. If power is shut off, all of the lines must be physically inspected before the power can be turned back on.
The PGE website was down for two days because it couldn't handle the traffic. I just checked the mobile outage map and it hasn't been updated at all, it currently shows zero outages and the list of cities isn't populating. The page at pgecurrents.com is up and working right now and has some information about outages, Your best bet will be to touch base with your son's family before you leave, and hopefully even if their power is out they still have phone service.
