Waiting is the pits!
Still coming down from yesterday, doing much better today. Question is if this scar/dead tissue in there gets achy and hurts from doing the exercise class, do I just not go? I really don't want to quit. It's only 1x per week. Also, should I push back on the 6 mo follow up MRI? I feel like I really don't need it now (also don't want the expense either). After my esophagus incident I quit taking supplements-the multi-vit, C & D, and glucosamine. Most all of them are too big for me to swallow comfortably. So of course my knees, hips, and back hurt now. I just ordered a liquid form of glucosamine. I hope it works fast. Breast is also feeling better today. What we don't do to remain pain free. Still in a learning curve with different things to try.

Emily I worked for many years in a very high stress job in an office. I made the decision to leave the job and it was the best thing I could do. I had developed other health issues as well besides the cancer and it is so much better for me and I am thankful to be out of that. I was not 60 yet but with the help of an attorney who helped me with my SSDI claim I was approved. Money went down to less than half than what I had been making since I made good money but we have our house paid for and we are frugal anyway so are making due. Best wishes to you.

Thanks bcincolarado. I'm hoping that a letter of support from my gp will be enough to convince occupational health in my hospital to let me go, but I need to change my oncologist. I need someone who is always on my side. Best wishes. ANNE.

I JUST got it back. Benign! Weird, but benign. It says
"Benign breast tissue with fibrosis and foreign body giant cell reaction."
Fibrosis is scar tissue, which makes sense because it was in my lumpectomy scar. Foreign body giant cell reaction might have to do with the surgical clip, which got sucked out with the biopsy. I dunno. Will wait for a phone call from the radiologist to explain this.
Anyway, benign. Very good news and happy way to end the week. Thanks to all for sticking with me this week.

Yea!!! So glad it’s begnign. Post surgery biopsy are scary as ish! In 2020 I also got the giant cell reaction with focal fat necrosis. Do you have any pain from time to time? Or pulling sensation? How long ago was you surgery? So glad for you!

My surgery was in April 2019, so 2.5 years ago. What I see is that it's typical to have a reaction in the first weeks after surgery, so I might be an outlier (story of my life!) As to pain or pulling, yes, but twinges and occasional pain seem to just be part of the whole joy of having breast cancer, so I've never thought much of it.
So my questions, when I get to speak with someone about it, include
1) will this mass continue to grow?
2) what are the chances that it will happen with my other clips in the vicinity?
3) does it create any extra risk for the future?
4) does anything need to be done about it?
In the meantime, I'm just trying to get my stress response to settle down. I usually have a drink on Friday evenings, so that sounds like a good idea for tonight, especially.

God damn it! diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2014. Do you want a lumpectomy- hell no! take it off!!! NO regional spread! Reconstruction- HELL NO !!! You can do chemo if you want- HELL YES- bring it on! Tamoxifen- hate this shit, severe joint pain- but they tell me it prevents recurrence so 5 years - YES, onward never miss a dose. Oncology appointments yearly, labs, mammograms- I did it all. January 2021 mammo negative, onco appointment normal, labs normal.
March 2021 on my F^<~|%* birthday develop a visual change. Retinal doc flatly states “it’s a met” From where the idiot me says, we’ll you had breast CA. GUT PUNCH. Now mets to eye, lung, bone and liver. GOD F%~^}DAMMIT!! I did EVERYTHING! what do you mean 20-30% will go on to stage 4. I WAS CURED!!!! and now it’s freaking PUKETOBER!! I HATE F%^}}#% PINK!! and now I get mad at my own Breast Cancer sisters who are getting through early stages!! I HAVE MBC! I will NEVER get better until I die. NO ONE DESERVES this SHIT! SCREENING SUCKS! TREATMENT SUCKS! CANCER SUCKS!!! Kiss my career and life as I know it goodbye.🤬🤬
Now back to my normal, happy, demeanor😌

Bmpntherd - cancer is a big F#*%$@$# monster, and ther doesn't seem to be a "why" treatments work for some, but not others , and why it metastasizes MBC, an even bigger F#*%$@$# monster. My 3rd BC, twice left, now right, the one one the right metastasized last winter. F%$# ! F&*#* ! I thought the Ibrance was shrinking it. A couple on these threads have posted that they've been MBC 10+ years, but it really sucks to have a giant anvil dangling above your head. I hope yours stabiizes.

Oh yeah, I HATE the "just think positive" thing. While it just MIGHT make me a little happier, it DOESN'T cure cancer. Do we tell that to people with COVID? Diabetes? Heart attacks? Sheesh!

I just read that Casey DeSantis, wife of Florida Gov. has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I wish her every success with her treatment, but I truly hate the comment from her husband that "she will never, never give up." I understand the intent, but sometimes cancer kills us. That will NOT be her fault if that happens.

Sunshine99, YEAH. The whole "you can fight this!" thing, like when breast cancer kills someone, they didn't fight hard enough.
Obits sometimes state "she lost her battle," when they should say "treatment failed her."
