I still appear to have knee cancer, actually side of the knee ligament cancer..of course all the stairs and levels in our house have nothing to do with that..or the running...I finally have taken 2 advil, and am using ice which possibly might be the cure for knee cancer....oh well at work on this new project and trying not to sit all twisted up in my chair which seems to be a big part of the problem
Alyson yes! I had bc in 90 right next to the chest wall, and that lump didn't hurt either..must not have been TN

I am happy to report that after flushing out 5 lbs of fluid from steroids I no longer am on the heart transplant list !! or have knee or a$$ cancer for that matter. Who knows when it will come back.
I am so glad you are all here to help me laugh at myself. Much better than crying and messing up the makeup and clouding up the contact lens.

Welcome, Rose. Come and see us more! We are the funniest and best of all!
Thinking of you, Beppy, and I know you will come and see us soon.

Rose,
That is so good to hear that!!! I am sitting here trying to write but secretly looking at pictures of knee anatomy on my big screen..and yes, what Tomboy says..come back cause we're all crazy on this bus!!!

you guys make me feel so less WEIRD. I went to my first post dx, sx, tx, yoga class today. For some STUPID or better yet, CRAZY reason, I cried during the class. Tried to pass it off as a runny nose. First sign of nose cancer, I believe. They all knew. Oh well, felt good to do something, and I walked home up the hill afterward. I'm expecting first sign of Achilles or calf cancer tomorrow.
It really us saving me to laugh at myself. Thanks, crazies!

Oh Sula, may I prescribe a massage for the knee? I consider that to be the magic cure for everything especially since I have fallen in love with my new Chiro who is helping me with the dumb back, actually he does that on my back
just back from Whole Foods, of course bought the dumb foot cream and some over priced bread and tomatoes, sounds like dinner to me

Lucy, I didn't get much info about Murphy, other than his owner passed away, and he gets along with all animals. Clearly the latter wasn't true!! Oh well....he is getting better. My dad used to take out his teeth and show all the little one's in the family. They would all spend hours trying to remove their own teeth. haha
We will ALL be in your pocket on the 24th, Lucy!! We will have a big party when you get your good results!! With this group there will be no lack of food. I know it can be terrifying, but you have all of the crazies to lean on!!
Sula, I think you're right about the jealous thing. I think this little dog has claimed me as his own. He growls at anyone that comes near me. Except for the kids and my DH. Handmaiden to a Husky!! hahahahahahaha....that gave me a good laugh. Oh MAN!! Knee cancer!! What a coincidence....I have it too!!! I'm impressed you can still tuck anything under yourself. I have been tuckless (<----is that a word??) for years!! I will add Chaos Theory on my list of movies to see!
Rain, I think we are a bunch of foodies on this thread. That summer sandwich sounded wonderful. Hope you get your lashes and brows back soon. After reading your post about supermarket meat, I think I may stop eating it and find another source.
PTS, I LOVE crab. I especially love king crab legs!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I haven't had them in a VERY long time. I must put that on my list of things to do. My MO said I can have some wine every once in awhile. Who am I to argue????
JAN, I hope that appointment goes well. That MRI report is crazy and scary. I recently had a CT scan of my head and neck....they found I had gallstones. I'm still trying to figure out that one. Maybe we had the same technician??!! hahaha
Susan, I also have abdominal cancer!! That must be why my stomach is so big.
Booted off a WW board??? Hmmmmmm.....maybe they are really hungry, which makes them grouchy??? Maybe if they ate a buttered roll they would feel better. hahahahaha....Stick with the crazies PTS....You fit right in here!!! Oh wait....I just re-read that....a thread on BCO???That's just sad if it's on BCO. How could anyone fault you here on BCO for taking pain meds!!???
Tomboy, I've got ass cancer too. Actually, I got 3/4 ass cancer....1/2 of my left side is missing - less to hurt. hahaha.....My body must have some kind of grudge with my left side. I have left sided cancer!!! My family doesn't see the humor. I'm really glad we have our Crazy Town thread.
Katy and Suzy, Pain really does suck. Especially when you can't get any relief. They sent me to a pain management class about a half hour from my house. By the time I drove there and sat there for hours on end, and drove back, I was in more pain than when I started. I stopped going. That whole thing made no sense to me and irritated me further. I hope you're able to find something that helps you. It's awful being in pain daily. I found pain pills do nothing for me. The only thing that gives me a bit of relief is a muscle relaxer before I go to bed. The celebrex also helps, but it will probably give me heart cancer!! haha
Susan, I also suffered from anemia before BC - it's a PITA. Sorry you have to deal with it now. Oddly enough, my blood work after the beast has been good. There just seems to be no rhyme or reason with this disease. I think it would be nice if I could put my head on someone else's body. A BODY TRANSPLANT!!!! In fact, the more I think about this, the better of an idea it is. I'll have to give some thought to what age body I'd like to have transplanted....I'm thinking a 24-year-old. I'll think a bit on that one.
Alyson, I'm convinced your my cancer sister. We have all the same ailments!!! My brother ALWAYS told me I was adopted.
rpleepac, we haven't heard from you in a bit. Are you still having the breast MRI tomorrow?? If so, we will all be in your pocket. Please let us know how you're doing when you can.
M0mmy, did you have your CT scan yet? You said Aug, but didn't give a date. Hope you're doing well.
Ducky, I picture you living it up on some island with your pilot and red solo cup!!! Hope you have a safe flight home with no bumpy rides!!! Thinking of you. Enjoy those grands!!
If anyone else has tests coming up, please let us know.
My nose is giving me fits...allergies....or, booger cancer??? Could be nose hair cancer. Time to whip out my trusty mirror and flashlight to investigate.
Love you all - lurkers too!!!Sorry so looooong. You crazies have been BUSY....took me forever to catch up!! hehe I'm too tired to look for typos....just ignore them if you see any.

Slow, I am sitting here on my heating pad but rolling on the floor laughing! who knew there were so many types of cancer to worry us?
the Weightwatchers has discussion boards and one has a group for Cancer survivors, they have lost their sense of humor and intelligence as well and since they clearly got annoyed with me, no more on there. No laughing on their site! crying only there
well off to think on dinner, tomatoes and crusty bread and who needs anything else

Rose, Welcome to our thread!!! Sorry I missed your post. I must have been typing my long winded novel the same time you posted. Glad you found us!!

Jack, all set and they are marinating now in Balsamic, I think this will be a delightful dinner, you?

A most perfect dinner! It reminded me to go out and harvest! i just moved into a new house last week
(Starting a new leaf with no bad sx,tx memories)
The guy left a small greenhouse FULL of tomatoes.
So I'm having the same great dinner! Wish I had some fresh mozzarella .. I bet Rainny can go around the corner in NYC and get the real thing!

I have gone back into the office so I can visit crazy town, my computer history is filled with knee searches. I cannot ask my husband/writing partner anymore if I have knee cancer..he's very patient but I don't want to exhaust him. Normally I run up and down these stairs all day long now I am walking up them like a toddler, at least I'm not doing it by sliding on my ass.
I have a habit of sitting since childhood on the floor sort of japanese style (we're not japanese however) but everyone in my house sat on the floor except my father because the furniture was too good for us or something, anyway my mom was doing it at the age of 90..I still do it so I'm very flexible..however my knee is now objecting to being stretched out and cracking alas...
Slow,
hopefully doggy will adjust to the family dynamic. We had a parrot thast was insanely jealous of our other husky. The parrot was in our office and he would call the dog to him, by throwing peanuts out of his cage onto the hardwood floors...the dog would come running and then the parrot would say.."ouch, I bite" and "Nooooooo" to the dog. The poor dog was so confused getting orders from a 5 pound bird she could have gladly eaten. That bird was SOOOOOO jealous. so pet jealousy is a definite possibity

Jackibird,
I make my own ricotta which is very easy to do and delish with tomatoes, all you need is 3 cups whole milk 1 cup cream and 3 Tbs fresh lemon juice. here's a pic taken by my husband before we ate it all.

Jacki,
those are amazing looking ..most of mine are still green

ooh, have seen that done on cooking shows, needs to be on list of things to do
my neighbor just posted she made tomato sauce (from fresh and local tomato) and then just made fresh ravioli
I feel the need to just be friendly and visit?

Sula, just mix together ??? In the fridge for how long? Any straining necessary? Happen to have all ingredients on hand! Oh boy.....

Good grief, I step away from the boards and come back to find explosive activity! Yes, of course I can find fresh mozzarella around the corner, Katy, but surely they must have it somewhere in Oregon?? Perhaps? Those tomatoes are utterly beautiful. My lunch: tomatoes, cucumbers, and ricotta salata. And a tortilla because we were out of bread for some reason. Before I'm accused of eating too healthily, we're going to a party tonight in a vaguely mexican and altogether high-calorie restaurant, whose name isn't but might as well be Salt/Fat/Carbs. So I thought I'd better go in training for a few hours.
Sorry the knee cancer persists, Sula. I did wake up last night with finger cancer, but fortunately it had cured itself miraculously by morning.
Many years ago, a friend of ours had some rather terrifying symptoms: persistent numbness and tingling in one arm and along his neck. It was sufficiently serious that his regular doctor sent him to a neurologist, who put him through a battery of tests to rule out aneurysm, brain tumor, and other ugly stuff. So the neurologist asked more questions about his home life, daily habits, and so forth. This couple had a newborn and another child under two. He had been falling asleep on his side with his arm jammed across his ear in a desperate effort to block out the noise, cutting off the circulation to his arm and pinching the nerves in his neck. As soon as he varied his sleep position, the brain tumor/aneurysm/whatever went away....

Rainny- where I live I have to drive 30 + miles to get the fresh mozzarella that's sealed in the tub. And often they are out. Only the big fancy Safeway has it- most if the time. I'll take it, but.... I'm talking about those Italian markets where they have them fresh in those white 5 or 10 gallon buckets and they ladle and drain them out for you. Makes my mouth water. I lived in the Philly area for many years and I could get it there too!
Ooh! That just reminded me. When I would go down to the Italian market I also would pick up.....wait for it......CANNOLI !!!!!!! Omg. In those pink boxes that they tie up with string. I'm dying here.

rainey, I had a nasty case of vertigo a while back and my then primary care doc who was way stupid sent me for brain MRI and MRA. I was clueless about what they were looking for but a nurse pal of mine said that they were looking for , you guessed it Brain cancer.
they could not figure out what it was but wanted me to keep a monthly followup with a neurosurgeon to see when I would need the brains surgery
oh yes, he said not to worry as he had done the surgery many times and it was easy
fortunately I was smart enough to get a second opinion who said since I had not had a reocurrance it was likely and infection and we would never know what caused it
did I tell you I had sinus polyps and infections and yeap, symptom of sinus infections can be vertigo
love these guys that go to the extreme!

my brother came to Crazytown too! Briefly only, as his vertigo, which landed him in the ER was ultimately diagnosed by a very good allergist as a food allergy. Brain surgery averted! Back to Philly. He didn't care for CTown much. But I was sitting on the bus next to him the whole way!

Oh, well I'd take Philly for anything Italian anytime. As for fresh mozzarella, I can get a decent facsimile in my nabe at the korean market, or very good stuff several subway stops away. Thing is, the decent stuff is usually fine unless I have company and am showing off.
Cannoli I can get at the little place in the Italian nabe. But I prefer the anise flavored biscotti.
Am in Crazy Town at this moment because we are spozed to have left 10 minutes ago to pick up DS from his summer job and go to party. DH is not home yet. No word. Sigh. See you on the other side.

wow would that be cool

wwaaaay back when I was in college, and believe me, that was a long time ago, they put my then BF in the hospital because they were sure something was very seriously wrong based on his serious vertigo. I remember calling his family to give updates multiple times every time they did another test and each time it sounded worse...until finally someone figured out it was an inner ear infection. Why they didn't look in the ear sooner, who knows. maybe they were afraid they'd find ear cancer!!!!
It does remind me of a sort of funny (in retrospect) story though: I was desperate to reach some of his family when he was first admitted and couldn't reach any of the family members I knew well. Finally called his sister(who I didn't know well). She answered, I said "oh hello, X, this is Z..you know... I'm Y's girlfriend, and he is in the hospital." Silence for about ten seconds then she said in a very huffy voice: "Thank you very much but if there is anything wrong I will wait for the hospital to call me directly" and slammed down the phone so hard it hurt my ear (which we all know causes ear cancer!). I was stunned, until I remembered that her husband Y and my boyfriend shared a name.. :-)
Anyway, it's always something in Crazy Town. As for me, I am waiting for test results this week: supposed to find out oncotype score Wednesday. Hope that goes well.
Hugs and love to you all!

Sula, you guys ate... ALL of it.....? You didn't ...save ANY for mee?? Oh man, does that look good. You are an excellent maker of food, I can tell. We do have some very gifted women here. I am just a regular ol everyday kind of cook. I hardly ever cooked before I was 40, but lots since then! I guess I just wasn't interested in food. Till I met japanese food! And thai food! and only really good like schezuan or hunan chinese food, typos there, I am sure. Indian food, and and and
Can I make a painting out of that photograph? It's so yummy and lush looking, it looks like it would be fun to paint it...

Jack,
mix together 3 cups whole milk, with 1 cup whipping cream 1/2 tsp kosher salt....then bring the mixture to 190 degrees. When it reaches that temperature, take it off the heat and gently just barely stir in 3 Tbs fresh lemon juice..don't stir too much .....then don't touch anything for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes pour the mixture into a cheese cloth lined colendar
let it sit like this for at least 1hour.
then scoop it out and refrigerate or eat it up. The longer it sits the firmer it gets

Tomboy,
be my guest..and yes we ate it all..also..I made this out of two batches of it..gluten free balsamic strawberry ricotta tart
