Lucy, The cyclone made the news up here in California, too. Glad you are safe.

Molly, Take it easy as you go back to work. Hope all is well with your family.

Poppy, hoping all goes well with your results. Iris, yay for the improved blood tests! Molly, echoing Poppy’s advice to take it slooow and easy for awhile as you ease back into your routine. Lucy, glad you’re safe. Here Stateside, there was a violent storm system that killed a couple of professional storm chasers down in Texas. Blew threw here last night (& stuck around awhile today), but no twisters this time.

Glad to hear you are safe Lucy. Have seen the pictures of the damage from the cyclone on the news here. Waiting to hear if a friend from another site who lives there is safe as well

Gma, I love your happy dancing chipmunk!

    Iris, AWESOME!!!

Poppy, YAY! My continued prayers for a smooth and speedy recovery! How did I get cancer isn't one of the questions I asked myself for some reason. With all that "Man" has contributed to society who knows what we've been eating or meds we've been taking? I agree 110% with Sandy.

Cubbie, praying all goes well and you get great results!

Lucy, I'm glad to see that you are safe. I was worried about you and all the others when I saw what was headed your way on the weather channel. WOW!

Mommy, please take it easy at work on Monday. We're all mother hens on here 😊

Sandy, we got hit pretty hard here last night as well. Tons of rain and high winds. I forgot to bring my tomato and pepper seedlings in before the storm hit! They all made it through alright. The pots that showed no signs of life have sprouted and the same plants grew a lot with all the rain.

    Healing hugs to All 🤗

thanks for all the nice comments. Tried to understand the written report given to me but cant so will show to primary doc on monday

I am trying to understand why my friend is saying the things to me that she has. Maybe the person who said to me that maybe she is senile is right, too hurtful now. Remember the old thread here...Omg you cant cure stupid.....

Haven’t planted anything yet since Chicago can still get hard frosts well into April. Landscaper recommends starting tomato container garden in May.

I don't plant anything in my garden or flower boxes until mid to end of May. I usually till and put humus in the garden about late April.

my sister lives in boston area and just posted her brand new compost set up along with raised flower beds. She is sort of addicted to gardening and her lawn gets smaller each year

Iris, unfortunately you can't cure stupid! Maybe putting her at arms length will help her to stop and think before opening her mouth. But then again, probably not. I have a few friends that every time they open their mouth, stupid falls out! I'd get along by great with you and your sister

Sandy, all my seedlings will go out into the straw bales in a few weeks. I'm going to do the straw bale garden this year. You can learn more at strawbalegarden.com. I'm praying it works!

Mommy, with the straw bale garden plan you can plant into the bales several weeks earlier than usual. With the process of the bale fermenting and internal heat at 100* you can plant during a freeze if you'd like.

Hi to all!!! I saw my surgeon on the 17th and we are ready to go. My surgeon is scheduled for Monday...I cannot wait. He said I at least get some relief from having this gallbladder removed and should want to eat again. Who would have ever think I would love, the idea of giving back weight🙀

Ladies please pray that I have a successful surgery and after recuperating then we can move forward to dealing with this cancer issue.

    Take care

shorfi - Hope your gallbladder surgery goes well. I had the laparoscopic surgery years ago, also. Due to where incisions were placed, needed to have comfy pants that could be worn lower than incisions while recuperating. Babied myself by taking off work for 2 weeks, but all good thereafter. Oddly enough, the BS only wrote up one week off work post-lumpectomy!

Dropping in on all of the crazies....

Iris, so glad for no mouth sores and good blood test results. Unsupportive friends: who needs 'em?

Cubbie, good luck with your new dermatologist. You've had a lot on your plate...

Molly, happy (ok, belated) birthday! Thinking always of you and your boy.

Shorfi, in your pocket for surgery. It is so great to see you here!

Lucy, are you still house bound? How was the 2-year-old's birthday party?

Lori, congratulations on finishing up rads. I did so much gardening while in treatment, even during chemo. It just felt more life-affirming than nearly any other activity.

Poppy, so glad to hear about the thyroid results. Hope surgery went well!

Tomboy, hope the family situation is manageable. Thinking of you....

We had some rather sad news yesterday: The wife of one of my husband's friends is near the end of her fight with BC. She was diagnosed a couple of years before I was and stage 4 from the outset. They chose alternative treatment exclusively, primarily vitamin C. They have a teenager about my son's age. Very sad for them all.

And some not-at-all sad news: My 17-year-old has gotten into several colleges. 3 are in the northeast, and 3 are midwestern. 2 urban, 3 extremely rural, 1 small city. 5 liberal arts, 1 university. One came with a whopping scholarship that would leave his college fund nearly intact for the graduate degree we all know he'll be getting at some point. You can possibly guess which one my husband and I might prefer. But we'll revisit 2-3 of them, and he'll make a decision by the May 1 deadline. So proud of the boy!

    Love to all crazies....

Rainnyc, thank you, I'm thrilled that it's over! YAY! Congratulations to your DS for all of his college choices. A whopping scholarship would seal the deal for me, but our children need to have a say in the making of the choice too. I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's wife beginning to lose her battle with BC. I was to afraid to even think about doing an alternative treatment. One of my neice's suggested I do that. Ummm, no thank you.

    Hugs to All

rainy, congrats to your son on his college acceptances. And hope he is wildly successful at whichever school he choses. Hard to walk away from a major scholarship but sure he will make a good choice.

Worked out at gym and then headed out to coast for seafood lunch and good ocean views. They are working on rebuilding of coast guard station which was destroyed by sandy so it is interesting to see the new construction.

Now i am home and beat. I see my primary care doc tomorrow and want her to interprete thencopy of bloodworkup done at cancer center

Iris, praying your PCP can put a light to all the numbers we find on our blood work reports and they are all good 🤞

I've got an eye appointment tomorrow morning as I had a lot of eye problems shortly after starting chemo. It'd take hours for my vision to clear and I had pressure and swelling at the back of my right eye. My MO refuses to see me until I have everything checked out. He's a stickler about everything. MO has never had anyone with eye problems during chemo so he just wants to see if it's possible. I think he's going to use me as a new study if my exam shows everything returned to normal. I don't feel the pressure behind my eye nor have any problems with my vision in the mornings. Keeping my fingers crossed

Mazel tov on all those thick envelopes, rainnyc! Hope his ultimate choice matches yours. Not having to borrow tuition money is a huge advantage (we both had to for our professional educations, though undergrad was CUNY & free back then)—Gordy was considerate enough to pick a college that was cheaper than his high school, and turned down dorm or apt. living. We didn't have to borrow a cent (not even for his Bar Mitzvah—they do ‘em more cheaply here than in my old NYC-area stomping grounds), and if he decides to go to grad school, we've got that covered too.

Iris, hope those numbers are all on the good side. duckyb1, as my people say, you have so much “nachus" (“ch" pronounced like hocking up a loogy) from your kids, grands, and great-grands. And your house looks delightful! Lori, are you seeing an ophthalmologist about that eye pressure?

Shorfi, In your pocket. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Rainy, Wow, that sounds wonderful. So nice to have choices.

Lori and Iris, I hope you get good news.

I'm bruised, but not in pain. Looking forward to being able to wear a bra again. But really hoping for benign results. It's spring break for my kids and I'm stuck trying to keep my breasts still while the left side heals.

hi all, home from primary doc pt. She looked at the blood reports from my onco visit and said my onco was referring to my white blood counts. She thinks i am looking great, hey no cane so that is positive also. I have been getting some headaches like when i sneez or cough so she suggests i call to talk to my nuerologist. One more thing to do.

Rainny, good luck on your sons college choice. My one neice got a ton of accept like your son and ended up choosing Uva which did not offer much in the way of scholarships. But my brother was able to help her . Since she joined the peace corps after that, her grad was all paid for. Then again, not sure i would recommend that approach unless you have a strong stomach. Course she did end up working for state department so that worked out in the long run, even if auntie i had bp issues when she was in haiti!

Great news on the blood work, Iris! As to the headaches when you sneeze or cough, that’s pretty common with chronic sinus issues (even in the absence of fever or nasal congestion), especially this time of year.

sandy, guess that could be cause but said due to my recent surgery, best to check it out. Lord knows sinus issues are common for me but who knows

Thanks for the thought, did send an e mail to nuero doc so will see what she says
