Sandy, your story of the Zyrtec bottle brought back a memory of my own, especially when you mentioned that you nearly resorted to taking a hacksaw to it! It reminded me of the time I was trying to single handedly move a solid oak office desk through the doorway of one of my boys' rooms. The desk got stuck in the doorway and I just could not get it to budge without completely wrecking the door and the jamb. So....climbed over the stuck desk, ran down to the garage and grabbed a saw. I proceeded to just start hacking it to bits. I think I must have gone a little crazy. I just was not going to let that desk win. After my kids saw the splintered mess, they gave me a wide berth for a while!

You have to love CrazyTown Its been 5 weeks since my dx and I have made several trips to CT. Even though I had a clean PET/CT scan ; with every little ache, I KNOW the cancer has spread. Of course, I had these little aches and pains years before my cancer diagnosis. I ran a 5K yesterday and woke up. this am with sore knees. I immediately knew the cancer had spread to my bones. 30 seconds later I remembered the 5K. I had to laugh it wasn't cancer just a 58 year old running in cold damp weather. Crazy Town- I wont desert you. I will be back.

Had 1st post surgery mammo today & all clear. Also had BS appointment. Discussed joint pains from AI with him & had also discussed at MO visit on 1/12. Will be trying acupuncture with Dr recommended by MO and also increased Vitamin D. BS was pushing a break from Anastrozole for 1 month, see if SEs go away & then switch to Exemestane, Thoughts, anyone?

Oh my gosh the mustache is making me dammit nuts! And of course I have really dark hair so it shows up very nicely. What do you do? Bleach? Pluck (ouch)? Shave? Oh and then there’s the cute littl beard hairs that show up too. Ughhhh

    Readytorock, in your pocket today!

I met my new oncologist today. She is keeping everything the same, except she wants me to get a mammogram. Since I'd had a BMX, my previous oncologist said a mammogram wasn't really doable or necessary. However, I know one of my relatives gets a mammogram on her UMX side when they are doing her regular mammogram on the non-cancer side. They just squeeze whatever they can get a hold of, I guess. Anyway, you know how everybody has a different take on things and different approaches, and the new oncologist believes in doing the mammogram on whatever they can get a hold of. I do have a bit of a fold under each arm, smaller than what you'd think of as being dog ears, and I think that is what they are going to be aiming for.

So no easy exit from CrazyTown, just a detour to a different neighborhood.

Eyebrows and eyelashes...lol it's funny going from praying for them to grow back then plucking your eyebrows again one day. Oh the things taken for granted. Check up tomorrow. Clear ultra sound last month so I can actually layoff the attivan and remember what to ask the Onc/my nurse this time ;) I get a Zometa infusion tomorrow, praying she gives me my usual 6 vicodin to get through the weekend. My son has his pinewood derby race (cub scouts) and a basketball game. I prefer not to miss either!

Cubbie like your take on the no exist - just a detour. Yup.

Celia, I was previously on anastrozole (Arimidex) and the joint pain and stiffness was horrible (I had arthritis previously, it made it much worse)...MO recommended a break....pain lessened significantly during break and then he switched me to Femara/letrozole, which is better (For me). So, I think your MOs plan is a good one...you might ask him/her about Femara as another AI option.

I am finally getting over my jet lag from my trip to Japan. For some reason it hit me particularly hard this time....here is a pic of Mt Fuji, taken from the bullet train, which shows you how sunny it was for most of our trip....

    Hugs to all;

M0mmy, great news! Octo, welcome back! Looks like ideal weather! Cubbie, that is very interesting. I have no scans or mammos after having my bmx (or two umx really lol). readytorock, congrats on a clean mammo! iris, great news about your eyesbrows growing back! Hello 7of9, good to see you!

So I met my new MO yesterday. He's young. He was very personable and obviously read my file because he knew about my prior surgeries including my hysterectomy. He mentioned my genetic mutation as well. He discussed my Dexascan and recommends starting on biphosphomates which I am not too keen on. We talked about it and he gave me some information to read. I told him I would do some reading and let him know. He is recommending Fosamax. Anyone on these drugs? So then he asked if he could do a physical exam and I showed him a couple areas that are bothering me. He stepped back and looked at me and said yes truncal lymphedema is pretty common. He thinks it is pretty mild lymphedema but I was stunned because my previous MO discounted anything I pointed out. So he's going to refer me to a OT who specializes in LE. Now that explains why my left arms feels sensitive and why my fitbit doesn't fit well anymore.

Molly ..sounds like your new MO is on the ball .. definately a keeper ! Often the "young ones " do go the extra yards . Funny when I go to the doctors I always try and work out their age ..I don't want them too young ( incase of inexperience ) , or too old and set in their ways !!!

Mommy ..great that you got a good report from the cardiologist !

    readytorock ..great news :-)

7of9 ..nice to beable to go an appointment and not have to worry !! It's become a rare event for me these days !

Cubbie ..I've never had a mammogram on my mascetomy side ...now I'm wondering if I should be ?

    Octo ..beautiful photo !!!

    Hugs to all

    Lucy, what a cutie!

Octo, I was struggling to put my finger on what Mt. Fuji reminds me of--and then it hit me: pre-eruption Mt. St. Helens (back when we lived in Seattle, we used to call it Mini-Mt. Fuji as it loomed on the horizon when we'd drive home north along I-5 from Portland). But both Fuji and St. Helens (v. 1.0) reminded me most strongly of....Howard Johnson's ice cream cones! (Remember those conical scoops with the flattened tops)?

Gotta wonder what's with all these food metaphors...
