Iris...in your pocket as well !!!

Our Covid restrictions are starting to be lifted ...slowly.....my state , Queensland , has 45 active cases ..and Australia 738 active cases..We had some friends for lunch yesterday which was lovely ...so nice to have a bit of normal back...people are still meant to work from home if they can , but schools in most states will be starting back up next week ..hopefully the case numbers can stay low .

    Hugs to all

Jumping into that pocket as well, Iris!

Lucy - Sounds like things in Australia are migrating to the new normal.

thanks for all your thoughts, first time that I have been back to sloan since end of March. They have made a bunch of changes, temp is taken before you are allowed to enter and they have a trailer set up if you flunk and need covid testing

Looks like they are doing as few infusions as they have to. Scans and such have always been on lower level, infusions on the main level. Parking is only open on lower level and the valet guy will no longer park your car although if you need a wheel chair he will help you.

I did hear one guy check in for a pet and a bone marrow transplant. So interesting and not sure what my onc will suggest when we talk on Tuesday, May need to buy more wine to get through till then! Not sure if a pill will work for me currently but sure am hoping!

My telephone appointment with my oncologist was good. Only thing that she wanted me to do was to stop the multivitamin since I am taking Vitamin D which she said most likely has calcium in it. She said my calcium level was a bit elevated.

My kitty Happy bit me on the face today while he was purring & nuzzling me--am on antibiotics now. Trying desperately to avoid having to go to Urgent Care (full of patients getting coronavirus tests), much less the ER.

Is anyone else here infuriated by all these people on TV wearing their masks over only their mouths??? That is, the people who even wear them. One young moron in PA refused to wear one and was thrown out of a supermarket--he had a doctor's note "exempting" him because of "panic attacks." (He should just stay home and get his stuff delivered, or do curbside pickup). He was asked whether he would wear one to protect others, and he said, "only if I'm scared--but I'm not scared." WTF is wrong with these stupid "libertarians???"

Sandy, they all think they are invincible. Here in Connecticut, masks or face coverings are for being out in public when not able to do social distancing, but those with medical conditions (anxiety, asthma, COPD, etc.) are exempt and they do not have to provide proof when asked why aren’t they wearing a mask.

Sandy - I share your sentiments about those who do not wear face masks. Especially aggravating when it is "senior shopping hours" and those who are in the "at risk" age group ignore the use of face masks, while all of the store staff are wearing masks & taking precautions.

Another pet peeve - Out walking in the neighborhood with DH & why is it always the two of us who must seek out a 6 foot distance? Sometimes people come up running right behind you with no word of warning & it is not possible to get out of their way. WTF, indeed!

Also found it of note that at the grocery store, the majority of those without masks were men!

In Australia we've been advised not to wear face masks ..except for health care workers ...saying they are often worn incorrectly, wearing wrong sort of mask , and people can spread the virus because you tend to touch your own face more when wearing one . You can wear one if you want , but not many people are doing so ...Who knows..? It's difficult to know what to do with different advice everywhere 🙄

I think even some cover is better than none. First you are trying to protect others by wearing one. Second you will probably touch your face more without one. At least with it on it's a reminder to not do it. Also I think the areas of concern not to touch are nose, mouth and eyes where the virus can enter, not the whole face. Here in CA it's mandatory. If at the very least doing that and social distancing makes you less stressed, like you are at least doing your part for yourself and others.

That's how I see it. It's warm out and I'm always too warm. Wearing a mask is very uncomfortable, makes me hotter. But I'm suffering to hopefully prevent spread in the event I am asymptomatic.

Just saw on the news that some folks are urging a boycott of Costco because requiring masks is too draconian. My view is let them stay away and make it safer for us masked ones.

Here in New Jersey we have to wear masks in stores or you are asked to leave

yeah, jersey person also, I see stores, the few that I actually go to, will not let you in without a mask... course my outside trips are for trash disposal, mail pickup and the pharm.

Had a pet this past week, can I say that I was terrified? Course now waiting on results. My neighbor who really does not get it about what stage 4 means and how the fact that I have been off chemo since end of March as my onc was concerned that April would be the worst for NJ and my immune system would be weaker than it is now. I fully expect it will be worse. So my neighbor said that maybe my pet would show that my cancer was gone....That because I remarked that my energy was better as I now could tell what was a symptom and what a side effect of the meds!

    Hello?

Proud, can you sit down with her and explain the facts? Or maybe your relationship with her would be better off if she didn't know?

The salon I go to called me today to see if I wanted to book an appointment. I set up one to get my hair cut for a couple weeks after they reopen with my friend who is the only one who touches this mop of mine.

My nail salon plans to reopen June 8, and booked my mani-pedi for the 10th--but IL (especially the Chi. area) isn't predicted to hit peak until mid-June, so I have a feeling I'm gonna have to keep going DIY with my nails. My hair is getting very long--but easier to put up in a ponytail. Not seeing much root growth yet. Instead of trimming my bangs, I've just gone to a side-part.

I remember when my hair came back from chemo bald, it was grey and white. At 52 I thought nah, too soon. But now I'm thinking of saving money and the harsh effects of dye on my scalp and just let it go. Also liking the ability to wear my hair in a pony.

    Hi everyone,

I got a CT scan yesterday -- not because I was having symptoms or anything, but I asked my MO for one as a 6-month follow up since my last. It was clear as was my bone scan *thank you God* but I am SOOOOOO nervous.

I am trying to stay positive and I know the results were probably already posted and I could send a message to my MO, but I am just afraid. What should I do? I have a tele appointment with her on Thursday but it feels like torture waiting for results, even though I have faith they will be clear, the demon on my shoulder questions me.

Please, please say a pray for me.

    Will do, berries!

Hubby noticed the grey is showing up big time in my hair. Suggested I see if I could change my appointment from just a cut to a color and cut. Luckily the salon was able to change the services I wanted done the day of my appointment. They can do most of their services, except for blowouts. I told them it was no problem when I was told this.

berries, prayer said. Please know that we all are nervous about tests and test results. For me, the anxiety has gotten a bit better over time but it has not gone away.

    Take care.

Thank you so so much. I messaged my doctor and the RN intercepted. Rawr! She said the results still need to be reviewed by my MO. I asked my husband (also a physician) and he said that's normal... my appointment with my MO isn't until Thursday and waiting feels like years.

This anxiety and fear is so overwhelming. I just walked to a nearby church and prayed and cried. I'm only 35 and feel like I still have some life to live, if I am given the chance. My last CT was 7 months ago and it showed nothing. I just have to keep remembering that.
