I'm in crazy fruit loopy town ya'll. I had the MRI yesterday, was told by dr's office it was lumbar spine...when I got there tech says it's lumbar spine AND pelvic. So of course that freaked me out, but hey what doesn't freak me out right? Anyway, the damn thing took like an hour and a half and by that point my back was killing me!!!

So, I waited until about 330p my time to call doc's office to check on report and I still haven't heard anything. It's 515p and i'm trippin again.

It's like I play this stupid game with myself, talking myself down and saying "it's going to be normal, don't worry you are totally overreacting and nothing is wrong". The self talk can be really nutso. Anyway, that is the latest and greatest.

Cute baby btw...other than the Eagles stuff :)

    Chevy, Welcome to our thread!

    image

Please pull up a chair and get your Crazy on. All new members get a crazy town kit consisting of a flashlight, mirror, magnifying glass and coconut oil. Use them wisely! I'm sure being a member of BCO for so long, you've got some good Crazy Town stories to tell!! Are you close in age to our Ducky?

Ducky, I wish I could wake up to that smiling face every morning. What a delight he must be. I'm proud to be his Great Aunt.

I saw an article about the mammo's online this morning. I'll have to go back and read it. I'm interested to know what the thought processes was in making this NEW determination. Seems like another example of eat eggs, don't eat eggs. I've taken all of the "recommendations" with a grain of salt as it pertains to my own BC diagnosis.

We all love different teams!! haha....I'm a Seahawk's fan myself, although they don't seem to be doing too well so far this year. My DS is a total Eagles fan, my niece a Packers fan. It's a friendly family rivalry.

Tang, Waiting is just awful. We will all hold your hand while you're waiting. Maybe we can come up with more gas stories!! I'm not sure why, but gas always brings a smile to everyone's face. Especially boys. Just mention the word to the boys in my family, and they are all hysterical. Are all families like that?? Seriously though....you're not alone in this!! Sending good thoughts your way!!

Katy, Love the colors you picked today. Can't wait to hear how you'll prepare them all. Uh oh....here comes the drool!! Remember Laugh in?? That saying here comes the judge, here comes the judge. Well, my new saying for Crazy Town is here comes the drool, here comes the drool!!

Think I'll go take a little nappy poo. Guess I should go to the doctor if my sore throat cancer isn't better by the weekend. I wonder if they will want to do a scan??? It's been my experience when I go in with a minor complaint, I come out with oodles of tests ordered. Maybe I'll give it till the following weekend. I miss the days when a sore throat was just a sore throat!! haha

Hope you're all having a peaceful, pain free day so far. Love to all!!

Beppy- so far just a sandwich. Some nice leftover roasted chicken with fresh tomato and arugula with a bit of mayo on whole wheat. It was very good, but I'm still jonesing for grilled Gruyere ala Gaia. Oh yeah. New Tuesday special at the CT Cafe.

Available as take-out jammed down a pneumatic tube. Gruyere Gaia a Gogo. Haha. 💥💥💥

Hope you wake up tomorrow and the sore throat is GONE.

    Italy, So true!!

Tried to take a nap - didn't happen. My dog rolled in poo. Had to give him a bath before he came back in the house. Stinky, dopey dog.

Bobby makes my ovaries ache. He is so adorable!

Hi Chevy. It looks like a lot of fun is brewing with you and Ducky around!

I can't tell if the fatigue is bringing on the depression. Or the other way around. Everything that belongs in the kitchen is in other rooms of the house. This is a very minor kitchen update. Not the one I would do if we were going to be in this house for several more years. Maybe thinking of moving out of this house has me down. That could be it; we said we would stay here until the kids were out. In a few more years we will have only one boy at home. House is way too big for 3 people.

Thanks for the support regarding my boy. He's so bright, we thought he would sail through high school and have his choice of colleges. Oh well, at least he's done with high school. He has both a psychologist and psychiatrist; he has therapy and meds. They have helped quite a bit.

I really miss the days when a trip to the doc for a sore throat, congestion... whatever was a simple visit, with a simple treatment plan. Now they always want blood tests and scans.

    Brownie! See why?

Christine- thanks for the Gaia a Gogo! Yum!

    Morning Crazies

I'm off to the city for a client and maybe an errand, but honestly I already can't wait to be back home in our nest! I still haven't organized my autumn /winter stuff and new bed linens are arriving later so I'm really looking forward to huddling up for the cooler months.

Tang hope you get your 'answers' soon. Just my 2 cents, but I think they will often do the pelvis with the lumbar; I mean it's sitting in the machine so I think they just do it..

Chevy welcome, any friend of Ducky is a friend of CT.

Slow perhaps your sore throat IS just a sore throat. Do you know of slippery elm? It is EXCELLENT for sore thoats and digestive issues ( shout to you as well octo). It's a powder ( herb) and you mix it with a bit of honey and tuck it in your cheek and allow it to slowly dissolve; very soothing. Mountain Rose herbs is a great online site to purchase all manner of herbs and spices.

Ducky the eagles, and bobby. I am just learning and actually appreciating football. My man is a giants man. When I started learning I was immediately attracted to the saints- drew!!!! and that was when sproles and jimmy graham were there. They aren't fairing so well this year. I do think sproles is a firecracker. The giants were just awful the other night. Made you happy though!

Rain I'll have an answer about next tuesday later today!

Katy it is so funny you putting gaia a gogo. when I was a little girl, my grandmothers neighbor, Betty, called me Gogo. i had white patent leather knee high boots. I have to find a picture.

Ok I am missing a lot of you but sending a big collective hug- hey Mommy we miss you!

more later crazies- I'm super late

Morning gals! Tang, don't you just HATE to wait? That's the worst! So do you know what is wrong yet?

And you guys like fruit-loops? Is this a joke? I like Special K with berries, but I'd rather have a Chili Relleno's plate from this Restaurant, with fried hash browns real crispy and with lots of onions... 2 fried eggs and that chili relleno, smothered in green chili!

Hi Slow! Thanks for the welcome! Okay, I'm on my chair..... I use coconut oil on EVERYTHING! And but what do I need a mirror for?

And NO... Ducky is MUCH older than me.... 2 years to be exact... so that means she must know more than anyone ELSE around here...... Did she ever have nerve enough to tell you about her Pilot? She probably got banned not only from the air-lines, but from this BLOG as well...Ha!

Let's just say she is still continuing that hair-raising time of her life to this DAY! The sky's are friendlier now than ever before....... Ha!

So what's this about cheese and stuff? Is that Gryere or howeveryouspellit good? On WHAT? I just LOVE to mix that Goat-cheese from Costco, with steak-seasoning, Chia, Flax, Hemp, and Sesame seeds, and mix it all up, and eat a little on Mary's Gone Crackers every morning....

See, that's how Ducky has lived to be 120 years old! Just fix you up a batch and see what happens....

And what is Gaia a Gogo? Oh! by the way... for a sore throat, you must drink a shot of Whiskey before bed-time... that's what my Grandma did.... She SWORE by it.... well, I mean she always swore, but esPECIALLY when she got a cold.

I remember staying over-night with her when I was little... And her whole bedroom smelled like VICKS! And it was pitch black... just very traumatic for a little girl...........

But it helps ME when I have those things to just take NyQuil and DayQuil! And drink hot stuff... like a Hot Dr. Pepper with lemon! And get plenty of rest, just like the professionals tell you....

    omg. Chevy I'm cracking up

    You are a hoot

    Yes to the whiskey too

Oh yea and Vicks. I think it's the only non herbal thing I had in my cabinet until dx

I can just picture your grandmothers dark Vicks filled room. Creepy!

Ok crazies off to the city

Good morning, crazies! I can't keep up with all of you. Welcome to new members.

Urm, grilled cheese. I have been eating all sorts of things I that I never eat since this whole adventure started. And most of them involve dense protein. There was a point when I craved roast beef; cheese and eggs have been steady. I just assume the healing process involves building new tissue, and I need protein to do so. Maybe that's true for you, Gaia, and others?

Of course I would never say no to such pornographic vegetables as you have posted, Katy.

Poppy, congratulations on getting your boy to a point of victory, even if it feels more fragile than you would like. You have my most fervent hope that he is stabilized and will get to the point where he is able to try other things and take more pleasure from his accomplishments.

Octo, I love the story about your son.

Beppy, hope your sore throat cancer is better. And the dog has learned a lesson (no, not the one that says, Roll in gross stuff, Mommy gives me lots of attention!).

Ducky, I like your tone poem about your music. It is a constant companion for so many of us!

Italy, thanks for posting your thoughts on happiness--very cool. Also, I like your hair--which you posted somewhere. Mine is growing in gray; it was about 90% brown before and is now perhaps 10% brown. I have always thought I would gently go gray over time, and DH has been supportive of this. But I am NOT ditching my brown wig for a largely gray head. Organic hair dye: yet another product cancer will be bringing into my life!

So the weather here has turned a little cooler, and this morning we all were sneezing. Fall pollen. But I was so happy to have a symptom that is non-cancer related! Does that sound ridiculous? Yep. So what.

    A delightful, protein-dense, non-symptomatic day to all!

That is a photo-shopped picture! She WASN"T in the cock-pit.... Oh WAIT! Was SHE flying that plane? We used to have Sooooooo much fun teasing each other.... And another one..... Cammi.... who shall remain nameless, because she is stuck on the drinking thread.... ANYway, when I fell and broke my hip....(older people just DO those things) Well SHE the tramp that she is, said I did it Pole Dancing in the Alley at midnight.... So between The big D and me, we don't have a serious bone in our body.... If we do, we somehow manage to break them!

    This is me....

Moving so quickly... I can't keep up.

Ducky and the pilot- true story! I, too, lit up facebook regarding the new recommendations regarding mammos.

Chevyboy, The mirror is so you can visually check those hard to see areas for those mysterious lumps and bumps and discolorations!

Slow, Dog who rolled in poo!!! Why do they have to perfume themselves! I checked my calendar for Nov 11. That's a holiday (Veteran's Day) for my kiddos, so I'm not sure I'm available. What time is your appointment?

Thanks for all of the support regarding my son, Michael. We are hoping he will find a job while so many places are hiring for the holidays. Both Amazon and Kohl's have fulfillment warehouses fairly close to us. And we are going to talk to him about college once he is in a better place... not so sad. His high school counselor told us that the junior college would give him college credit for the AP classes he took. This would amount to nearly a year of college. So if he started at the junior college, he could easily catch up to his peers. This might make him feel better.... to be back on course. Then he could go away to college for his last two years and finally have the college experience. One step at a time!

Crazy morning! And blessedly not due to cancer crap! Alarms didn't go off on time.... my youngest boy's carpool was late, kitchen torn apart... where's the coffee, cereal and bananas?! Soooo thankful for normal life problems!

Both younger boys are performing tonight in our school district Band Extravaganza. So excited to see all of the kids perform. I usually chaperone this event, but I'm still not up to helping kids carry instruments that are larger than they are!

SlowDeepBreaths - thanks for the PTSD link. I was diagnosed in August and haven't felt like the "same person" since. I've tried explaining this to DH and family, but with the exception of my mother (who says I have "been through a shock"), everyone looks at me like they just don't get it. I keep telling hubby that I feel numb and disinterested in everything, like my old self left at diagnosis and a new person stepped in. I suffer from anxiety and always have, so I knew it wasn't really that, nor do I feel clinically depressed. Just numb. It wasn't until I did a search using the words "numb" and "disinterested" that PTSD popped up. I was kind of surprised. I thought that was for war veteran survivors, etc., not cancer patients. So many of the symptoms fit how I am feeling. It is good to know that there is a name and an explanation for it. Now, I need to consider if I want to find a support group, counselor, etc.

funny you should mention pole dancing: my chemo nurse accused me of doing just that the other day: I got up in the middle of an infusion to go to bathroom (taking the IV pole with me of course) and somehow managed to get the tubes all tangled around the pole....so she wanted to know what type of dancing I'd been doing with the thing...:-)
