Chevy. I LOVE your stories. You should write them down for your girls. I mean somewhere besides here. Like a real live breathing history book. Except not edited for political correctness as the books are now

I think we ALL have stories! Just wait until you get to be my age! Then what we have done, or what we went through, is interesting to younger people.

I can remember things from when I was little... but then things happened, and a brain concussion, and wiped out memories of my school years... But that's okay... Sometimes little girls will learn how to block-out things that have hurt them... Like, "it didn't happen"... Then sometimes that memory will come flooding out of your head and bring you to tears. But that's how little people protect themselves I think.....

But as you get older, and your life starts settling down, and you find your own happiness, THEN your little head will hold on to new things that are happening. You don't NEED to remember everything that happened... there is a reason you have either sub-conscientiously blocked it out, or things were so painful, "it just didn't happen."

So as you grow, you begin to live your own life, the way you want it... without anyone else telling you how to do it.... And you learn to realize that your past is not who you are..... You can make your life the way you WANT it to be !

So when I met my DH to be, his life was about the same as mine... But my folks had moved away, and his folks just didn't want to be bothered... And without knowing what we were doing, we built our own life. Had our first little girl when we were just 20 & 21... but I felt like we were" rolling around in heaven all day" ........ We had nothing, but if you don't have it, you don't miss it! And you make every penny count. And you build your own memories.... happy ones!

So now it's been 59 years later.... And we are the luckiest people I know....! We stumbled along the way a few times... but now life is better than ever....

And THAT's what you have to look forward to , little sister! xoxo

Chevy. See everyone does. More please. Both my grandparents and parents and all aunts and uncles are dead so I don't get to hear these stories at home. Sometimes I even read these to my ds's. Of course they think I am that old already. Asking me about life before electricity. Wth ????

Oops, got distracted and didn't hit the "submit" button. Bummer about the N/V. Your tummy has gone through a lot. Having an appetite is good, but remember to take it easy (just as Cling mentioned earlier).

BSF is Bible Study Fellowship. It is interdenominational and available not only here in the States, but also around the world. Don't worry. It is not a cult and we are not out there doing silly things. Hahaha! Just coming together to study the Word, share our struggles, and pray for one another. Keeps me accountable and helps me stay out of trouble.

So, how are you doing today? Did I hear there is a possible chance that doc will discharge you tomorrow?

So little Peppermint.... Is "tomorrow" today? Tell me that you are home now.... I'm worried because we haven't heard from you....

Man, I think I caught what you had.... I mean I was SO sick yesterday afternoon! I think it was the Milk/vodka/kahlua drink I thought I would drink. It was a little "thick".... probably due to the milk being out-dated, which most of the stuff around here IS.... But I drank a few sips, and then thought it didn't taste good, and threw the rest away....

But not soon enough, evidently..... So never mind how it feels to want to throw-up, because you do it yourself... but no-matter what I took, it didn't help... I went to bed early.... drank a little Pepsi with the Ranitidine, Pepto-bismol, and a Rolaids.... So now, maybe you have to do THAT when you get sick again????? And don't drink the stupid concoction that I did.... HAD to have been the milk....

Tonight I am having a BLT salad bowl.... should be okay, right? Hope you are home.... xoxo

Chevy ~ Uck! You drank all that mess of stuff with Pepsi? Isn't that the formula the kids used to make those volcanos for the science fair? 😱 Lay down and don't move....... we can't have your tummy exploding! Ooohhh....... unless that is your plan to get some of those hunky firemen to your house............

Patty ~ Skip the milk and just sip the vodka and Kahlua on some nice crushed ice. Much better for your tummy🍸

    Hoping you are..........

Hey, heard you are home. Now, stay there! What are the two liquor disciples trying to teach you? Oh my dear!

Ms. Chevy, I think you ought to take 2 milk toasts and call me in the morning. Stick with Starbucks, will you?

Aww Patty......ain't it the sad truth? Too pilled up to get liquored up. Our pharmaceuticals are interfering with our mixology! We can still be "virtually" bad, or is it "cyber" bad? 😛

Loverly - It's Chevy's fault! She started it! LOL

Ya'll have mentioned it before......what is milk toast?

Dont mind the movie stereotypes of the drunken Irish

The real fix-it-all imbibed by most Irish

    image

    Cup of tea for EVERYTHING

Even better if you can have it with a chocolate biscuit

  • Chevyboy
    Chevyboy Member Posts: 10,258

Tea for the Irish? Pashaw you say! I don't think that's right! I mean not according to my Grandpa, nor my DAD, and me! But Irish Coffee IS tasty! I didn't drink all that toGETHER with the Pepsi.... It was the sourish milk, with the Kahlua & Vodka!.... Now I'm afraid to try it again with FRESH milk.... Hah!

And MILK TOAST is Toast, and hot milk, and butter! You just tear the toast up in a bowl, then add the hot-milk & butter! Or else, another one is Pastina! You know, those little tiny macaroni's cooked, then add butter! I'll fix you guys all up!

Sheppers... that was funny! "Too pilled up to liquor up!"..... Loopy Lay down and don't move.........HaaaaHHHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Good one! I was crumpled over the commode, just trying to throw up.... It was LATER that I drank the Pepsi.... You know, when my Aunt was going through chemo years ago, the Doctor told her to get some Coke syrup from the pharmacy.... It was supposed to help... Have any of you heard that? Oh wait... there aren't any soda fountains or pharmacy's around anymore... Just for drugs....

Loverly, I'm okay now.... threw the rest of the milk out.... EEeeeeeks! You would THINK the alcohol would have made that milk okay, but believe me.... it didn't work....

It's trying to damn SNOW here!!! And COLD out! So I guess we'll stay in today.... don't want to get my car all messed up... we only go out when the sun is shining....Winking Besides, we don't need anything.... not even milk.

Morning Peppermint and Feline! You 2 behave now......

Okay wait! Now it's just rain, and 44 degrees out.... But it's still dark, so maybe my weather report is not accurate...possibly.... Nerdy Now I don't have to do my hair... just my face.... I'll stay in and do stuff around here...

I second those chocolate biscuits. Mcvitties or nothing. Those biscuits are called digestives and are good for what ails you.

    Glad you are home.

Chevy you are one brave woman.

DD in Orlando is so worried! Everyone from the coastal areas are evacuating to Orlando.... and they are preparing for the worst... She has been through a few Hurricane's, and had to replace the tile roof, and the pool enclosure... One huge tree in the front fell over last time... Trying to find a hose to drain the pool! Maybe it won't be as bad as they predict...

I'm just here with our kerosene heater, 40 degrees outside and raining... Snowing up in the Mountains! Don't come today Patty.... We will have sunny weather soon! Hug

chevy. Snow ????wth ???? It's 89 here today. I am ready for fall but not winter. Brrr. You may have to come here instead. We just put the cover on the pool last night but it's warm enough to peel it back and go skinny dipping. Seriously, glad you feel better

Feline. Never heard of a chocolate biscuit. Looks like a cookie to me ????

I ran errands this morning. Exhausted. Getting ready for my nap. Gotta remember easy does it. Why why is that so hard for us women ???
