It has taken until this week to clear a space for my mosaic table out on the patio. Its a long strory. Once it's out there I can grout it and will be sending along a photo. I return to work after 5 months Monday and looks like it will be done in the nick of time.

I got it done just in time to go back to work tomorrow. Grouting is messy work.

I decided to learn to do mosaic when I found out I was going to have to do chemo. So week three of each round was when I was up for it.

Lise, not morbid at all. I had an aunt who crocheted every niece and nephew an afghan of our favorite coloryears before she died to remember her by. She passed away 20 years ago and that blue afghan is still on my sofa. Get after those blankets girl.

Amica it's really fun. I'm hoping using stained glass instead of tile will allow it to be outside without cracking this winter.

Rachel that is stunning. Surely an heirloom piece that will delight your family and friends and will be a conversation-starter for years to come! You must be joy filled that you dedicated your time and talent to create such a beautiful thing.

Oh Enerva I want an elephant ! You could start taking orders. I have a knitted hedgehog that I bought at a craft sale. They would get on splendidly.

Working with my hands is what makes me mentally healthy through all of this - art - gardening - cooking. Yesterday 9 weeks out from my last chemo I've discovered that ALL of my fingernails are separating. I've worn nail polish to cover the purple beds. The polish also shows how well they have started growing at the base. I'm hoping this new fast growth will hold them on.

When I get this worked out enerva you've inspired me. I now want to do something with yarn. I used to knit sweaters when my girl was little. We are having a baby boom on our street. Baby sweaters are not too big a project.

Enerva, They are adorable! I wonder if a group could get together to make a bunch and give them to children in the hospital. I know there's a quilt project Linus that makes small quilts that children take home. Every year here the police ask for donations of teddy bears to give to children when they're impacted by an event. They say it works wonders for terrified children.

oh that could be so nice. I have donated many things to babies at my local hospital too

Also hats to other sisters going through treatment.

To be honest I find all the patterns on YouTube is just a matter of having the time. I find this is my meditation it relaxes me to knitt or crochet
