So glad we are all ploughing on through now. I have #4 on Friday and feel like the end's in sight for the first time. I'm a bit nervous as I'm changing to getting Docetaxl this time so the SE's will prob be different and might be nasty. Am dreading anything remotely itchy (hate all itchiness, not allowed at all) and going to ask fo loads of preventative meds, and also have my ice cold vodka on standby if all else fails LOL. Am also pre-planning to stay in bed for a few days after the steroids stop and just take things easy.

Love to you all MLP, Piper, Nolan, reflect, Chambo, Myra, Suzted, Hanley, Imani, Elise, Blamoms, Frances, Elizabeth, Praline, Haus, Karen and anyone else I've missed or who doesn't post so often. Hope you are all feeling OK today, and getting a bit better especially if you've been in hospital or getting treatment today. So great to be doing this together with you and not feeling alone. You all have a warm welcome awaiting you in Scotland when we are through with this wretched business. Just think, in a year we'll all be looking back on this as a surreal episode in the past as we get on with having fun again. Take very good care of yourselves and keep drinking litres of water ladies. Lots of love. X

Sorry that some Fab Febs aren't feeling fabulous.

Piper - Hoping you'll get released soon! Congrats to your daughter! Mardi Gras next year sounds good. We had plans to go to New Orleans last month, but instead we're here.

MLP3 - Nice shoes! Good to be entertained during chemo.

Chambo - Yay! Another one down!

ScotBird - Good luck on Friday.

LTF - Wow! You're almost done. What a great feeling that will be!

Finished a week of daily injections of Neupogen. Not fun. Hope not to repeat. Last weekend was my first bath with lots of salt since my port placement. Felt much better afterwards. I recommend a warm salt bath to everyone!

My 3rd treatment isn't for another 2 weeks. Looks like I'll be the last one in this group, so settling in here until summer. Le sigh.

    LTF, awesome, almost done!

SerenitySTAT, we started same time I think. My #3 AC is 4/7 (I'm a Thursday girl). Imani is on about the same right? And Nolagirl too. When is yours?

Of course there's the "T" to deal with too. Does anyone know how long the break is between last AC and first T ? If I miss as much work on T I'm in big trouble, because it's weekly, yikes.

reflect - I go the Monday after you, so we'll be around about the same time for chemo. Taxol treatments will begin after your usual recovery period for AC treatments. For us, that would be 3 weeks. After Taxol, I will get radiation therapy.

I have a friend who took a year off for cancer treatment with the same chemo regimen. I'm still working, but I plan on taking a month or 2 or 3 off. We'll see how long I can work during Taxol. I feel good now, but the effects are cumulative.

    • Reflect- I'm on Taxol weekly...6 of 12 this Thursday...so I'll be here for a while!
    • Piper- I know it's hard to post when you are feeling bad and drugged up, so thank you for posting...we are all still hanging out in your pocket..and hoping you get to feeling back to yourself again soon!! rest...
    • Chambro, MLP and LTF - Looking good Tuesday Ladies!! loving the acupuncture MLP! I haven't ever had it, and I'm intrigued...
    • Scotbird- oh I hate the itchies too! I have one knuckle on each hand that itches at night. I put some kind of Dead Sea lotion that I had on it and voila! Itch dosapears! Would love to visit You in Scotland!
Ok, Mardi Gras is a little less than a year away so no excuses! We have a lot of time to beat this cancer crap and build up our stamina so we can have a Fa Febs PARTY!!!

MLP - yes I only do 4 - then on to rads for 6 weeks. My next one is 4/26 due to some work travel.

Nola - I like how you think...I could get down with some Big Easy next February!

    LTF - looking good, girl!

Already tired - working a 1/2 day tomorrow and put my office on notice that the rest of the week is iffy. Going to experiment a bit with only taking 1/2 the steroids - see if I can keep enough energy up enough but cut the cravings...I am definitely NOT enjoying the weight gain and tossing and turning at night, so we'll see. Still gonna take the nausea meds - don't want to open that can of worms!

    Cheers to all

Good evening, fabulous ladies. I started chemo the very end of February, 4 rounds dose dense AC to be followed by 12 rounds of weekly Taxol. I've finished my 3rd AC last week, and the cumulative effects are, well, accumulating. The worst is a soapy taste in my mouth. Always. I know metallic taste is common, but has anybody else experienced this soapiness? If so, have you found anything to help?

Just today, my throat and mouth feels sore. I started using a salt and baking soda rinse, but I'm wondering if I should gargle/swallow it since my throat is sore, too. Any thoughts?

I've been so easily exhausted. I'm hoping that these symptoms get better while on Taxol, or that's going to be a long 3 months.

Mardi Gras, by all means. My surgery is probably September so I should be ready to roll by then. We could really have some joyous good fun. I want to walk in those giant trees--out by Tulane maybe? Fuzzy memory (see previous post lol) Jackson Square. That coffee and beignet place? But mostly those big trees.

And Scotland too. This is agreed by all four in family (a miracle). Even though my husband complains about going somewhere where it's winter even in summer (is that true Scotbird?) I want to be in a big wild place. I want to make a fabulous memory as a family. It's been too long, and things slip away while you're not watching.

Gentle hugs to you Piper, rest and get well. We are all snuggled up in your pocket.

I had # 7 Taxol treatment Monday. I usually go on Friday but because of Good Friday I was switched to Monday. I usually don't feel bad during infusion except for being lightheaded but this time I got so nauseous I had to take meds. I have not had too many side effects besides blood when I blow my nose, rumbly tummy, and VERY VERY tired... No energy whatsoever! I get winded so easily.

I have been reading here and thinking of everyone. I hope you all had a nice Easter.

I am coming back around. Chemo #3 was a rough one. So tired, in the bed since Wednesday, heart racing, very dizzy all the time. Plus the stomach issues. How can we keep doing this? I really want to quit.

Oh Frances, I'm sorry this one has been so hard. Does your MO have any ideas to help? I hope you've reported the fluttering heart especially. How many more do you have to do? Hang in there!

Hey Praline. So sorry to hear #7 hit you so hard! I have #7 tomorrow. I've been breezing through so far, just a few tummy issues and fatigue. I hope it continues.

Frances- oh no, please hang in there! Just put in your mind that as sick as you feel, the cancer cells are sicker or dead. Are you doing 4 or 6 rounds?

Praline- good to hear from you! Sorry #7 was a whopper. Take care...have you tried probiotics for your tummy? They have been a lifesaver for me. You can get them OTC.

Deacon lady- glad you have been doing good so far!

Deaconlady and Praline-how is your hair? All 3 of us are on Taxol. I am cold-capping, and haven't really had the "big shed" that is described by cold-cap users. Also, still have stuble on my legs, but no underarm hair. I don't know if I still have hair b/c of the cold-caps or b/c I'm only on #6.

I have #6 tomorrow. The fatigue is so hard to prepare for. It comes at sporadic times for me...it's weird.

Hi Nolagirl. My hair is shedding, but not too much. I had a gastric bypass in Dec 2014, and lost more with that! I'm a little surprised it hasn't come out more. Maybe I will be one of those who doesn't lose that much? Or maybe I will lose it later on. My MO thought I may lose it between 5 and 6 but that didn't happen. Who knows?

Chiming in ladies. Nolagirl will see you next year, put me in that pocket. Piper33, in yours.. It's crowded, but we are united in supporting you.

I'm on dose dense Taxol, had #2 a over a week ago. Definitely accumulative. It took longer for everything to feel sort of back to functioning. For a while I thought I was back on AC. It's doable, but I did not expect the fatigue and muscle pain.

That being said Frances, hang in there. In your pocket too.

Praline, so good to see you post

Deaconlady, you sound like me. except for my first AC (hospital for 6 days) It's been doable. On AC i kept up the anti nausea regimen. and hydrated till i felt like I was floating.

Reflect, Scotland sounds wonderful. Before my DX we took a 10 day family cruise. Who knew, it would be a while before we went anywhere again? We usually cruise 2x a year, and try to go overseas once every 2 years. This was the year for our Europe tour. Bummer.

I planned a cruise for November. Should be done with everything by then. Surgery in May, Radiation July-August. Something to take my mind off these last 2 dose dense Taxol's.

Frances, you can do this! I'm on TCHP too and I know it's rough but once we're through these, it's done!

We're here for you! Kvetch, moan, complain, whatever you need to, but keep going. You got this! Xoxox

i've done five out of six chemotherapies, I do have stubble that continues to grow on my head. I've been shaving it but I think I'm going to stop. Don't have much hair anywhere else on my body, and I'm still losing my eyebrows.
