Annoyingboob--- You are always so sweet to me. Thank you for reminding me of how far I've come and not to focus on what I have to do yet. You are very encouraging. I do have a celebration next week and I am going to sing and be silly!!!! All Week long!

So I feel like I'm getting " thrown" on tamoxifen. My MO's nurse practicioner called me this evening to tell me she's calling in my script. I told her I'd like to talk to the Dr about all this first. ( I haven't seen him since I started chemo). I'll see him three weeks after chemo she says. What do you girls think about this? I mean, I guess I'm going to do it. It's the combo of the chemo and tamoxifen that lowers my risk so much. If I did the chemo, I guess I gotta do the tamoxifen. I just thought Id have a lot more time to research and worry before starting.

Pugs let's get her done this week! Happy Easter everyone! See you under Vargadolls beautiful tree

Hi Elem, 3Bears finishes on Monday & I finish on Wednesday...then off to the cabanas!!

3Bears: I would be surprised if your MO doesn't tell you to wait until your surgery is over before starting Tamoxifen, especially since one of the side effects can be blood clots (rare, but still risky post-surgery). See what your PS says about this on Wednesday...

    Happy Easter everyone!

Pugsmama-- Thanks, I will ask PS on wed about that. That is why I was so surprised to get that phone call from the nurse practioner. There is a lot more that goes into going on tamoxifen than a Willy nilly phone call for a subscription I would think.

3bears- my appointment for the tamoxifen was way more than a "phone call"! That appointment was over a hour and the oncologist was very thorough with the "whys and how long and what to expect side effect wise". I have a church friend who has just gone there 7+months of BC. She is herr+ and has one heck of a journey. I was surprised that she was put on tamoxifen while she was doing chemo. She had a BMX a few weeks ago after chemo was finished and I had fixed dinner for her and her DH a couple of nights. We were able to talk some while in was there. She was not able to take the tamoxifen due to side effects and was put on something else. I can't remember what now. But either was I was shocked she was put on anything during chemo. So I agree with PugsMama!

Now all about me. I just finished day 5 of radiation. No issues ....yet. I also just finished my first bottle of tamoxifen. I have lost 7 pounds, sleep sound and have no SE so far. I keep waiting on the rug to be yanked out from underneath me!

Easter is at my house so I have lots to do to get ready for all the grandkids, parents and inlaws.

Have a beautiful Easter weekend. The stone is rolled away! #feelingblessed

hi Vargadoll, so glad to hear you're tolerating rads & tamoxifen well! I take L-Glutamine powder daily but that was recommended to me by the onc nurse to help prevent neuropathy from the chemo. Maybe it's to strengthen your nerve endings that might be under assault from the rads.

    Happy Easter!

Thanks PugsMama! I am having a little swelling on the SNB arm and have been referred to PT for lymphedema and cording. I have the cording worked out. . My actual back ground and education is occupational therapy the lymphedema scares the hell out of me so I will leave that for the PT. The nurse at radiation measures my arm often. I can't tell it's swollen but according to the staring measurement it is. My boob is definitely swollen! I feel like it's obvious bu DH says it's not. I should also add that I am having some forgetfulness! I don't know if it's the tamoxifen, cancer brain or just getting older. I always forget to get things at the grocery store if I don't make a list now. That's new I never needed a list before. At times I forget what things are called to! Lol...

DD and sweet baby Charlee just stopped by she's getting so big!!

Vargadoll-- I forget words too, it's very frustrating. I hope that goes away but to be honest, that started before my chemo so not sure I can even blame that. I make lists all the time about everything. It's the only way I get anything done! Lol. I see I get 15 minutes with my MO on the 12 th of May....😐. The only info I have ever received about Tamoxifen is that I would be on it. That's it. BS didn't want to talk about it because she said we will cross that bridge when we come to it. I have a lot of questions about the drug they want me on that effects at least the next 5 years of my life. I'm not letting him rush me through this. I'm glad to hear you're tomeratingbit so well ANd lost 7 lbs! Ive gained 9 during chemo.

So ladies............I am done with chemo!!!!!! 🎊🎉👍🏻

hip hip hooray 3 bears!! I bet that feels amazing - well, not the chemo part, but being done. Is it like 2 weeks of getting knocked down before you start to feel better? You chemo girls have been quiet on the details, so I'm still a bit clueless, but I massively respect your journey.

Pugsmama, we are cheering you on for tomorrow!!

Varga, little charlee is so crazy cute!! How fun to have her keeping your mind off rads.

As for me, I finally made it home to Paris! This caught my eye and I thought of all of you - it roughly translates as 'now is the time for happiness'. Wishing all you angels beaucoup de bonheur!!

Hey ladies. Haven't checked in lately. I've got 2 more radiations left. I have an open oozing wound under my arm which has been so painful. It is where my sentinal node biopsy was. I have to wear this jell pad thing on it. Helps keep it moist but also absorbs the leakage. My energy has remained good but the pain has been horrible. I'm getting ready to start the Tamoxifen on Sat. Glad to see lots of messages. Miss you girls

Happy Dance 3bears 💃🏼 PugsMama tomorrow's your last one! I wish you both a speedy recovery.

Cowboyup so close to being done with this phase of your journey. I am so sorry about the horrible side effects of rads. You're a strong brave women, always remember, this to shall pass.

Annoyingboob - you're always so positive. Thank you 😘 Have a wonderful time in Paris.

I am intrigued by the tamoxifen conversation. My BS started me on it at my first visit to her office, November 17th (a day I hope I eventually forget) based on my pathology. I honestly wonder if they really know how effective it is. I guess I'm just following Drs orders. My SE have really been minimal.

    Love you ladies

annoyingboob!- keep the pics coming! I will vacation through you! Hope you have an amazing time!

Cowboyup - oh no!!! I'm so sorry you are having a rad issue! You have done so well up to this point. Sending you quick healing vibes! I have had 7 radiation treatments now and so far I'm not even changing colors. I do have some swelling but it's not bothering me. I'm taking 15 grams of glutamine twice a day. Does your RO have you taking it to?

Leftcoastie- alway a joy to see you post!

    PugsMama- kick cancer's ass today!

    3bears- you did it!

So happy for PusaMama & 3Bears! Chemo is such a hard thing... so glad that part of the journey is coming to an end! Here's to a quick, symptom free recovery!

Cowboy-Up I am in the same boat (well almost). 6 more rads treatments to go! I have a few sores, the worst of which is plainly visible to the world on my collarbone. Well, hopefully it will heal soon and this will all be a distant memory! I am once again counting the days! Hoping quick healing to you!

    All the Best Ladies

congrats to all of you ladies finishing the hard core chemo journey . Also those finishing rads or starting tamoxifen . I am so proud to have been a part of this courageous group for the past 5 months. I am on the tamoxifen but adjusting to it is making me a little anxious. I have not really had many unusual side effects , but am nervous about the major ones. I think my anxiety is just too high.

Anyway, love your beautiful pic Pugsmama , you look gorgeous . So happy for you and 3bears finishing up . Love you all .. happy spring

sorry to hear about BeachbabyK and Cowboyup having the skin issues. I know how uncomfortable that can be . I had such trouble after the boosts . Myt skin is dark , but it burned like no other . Luckily in a month , its is healed with very little trace of it other than a little dark . It was the worst near the snb scar! I still feel pulling and spikes around the scar tissue , but generally it is healing nicely . I was told the phantom pains can persist for over a yr. Wishing you all well and a smooth transition from BC to living our lives to the fullest again . ❌⭕️👍
