emac Glad to hear you can see the light and are managing to get through. Sending you extra strength.

Irish Ugh sorry to hear no replacement in sight for MO yet. Hope the NP is in tune with your situation and can help manage your struggles this month.

Shanagirl Glad to hear you're on a break and getting away. Enjoy!

Been quiet here, I'll take it ,as I have many appointments coming up . Boating season is officially over we had a beautiful last ride for the season on Sunday. All in all we managed to squeak out some good days on the water. I am ever so grateful for the good days.

HI to all here and wishing you a good day. Think and pray for everyone here daily.

Good morning Ladies~ happy hump day! It’s been beautiful weather and I’m loving fall. The leaves are starting to turn ever so slightly. I don’t want it to go quickly. I love the beautiful fall season but it goes too quickly. Before we know it thanksgiving will be here. Then Christmas. I need to start shopping. This time last year I was almost done. Funds are always tight. On a disability salary. I’m sure some of you can relate. My dd started a new job, so I bought her a brief case, matching wallet and cosmetic bag. It will help her keep her laptop safe. I have bloodwork and xgeva shot tomorrow yuck! Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

What a lovely gift for your daughter, Mel.

I can also relate to the seasonal concerns now with getting shopping done and tight funds (no disability for me, but live alone and no one to share expenses with). This is my favorite time of year, though; absolutely.

I do live on disability with no reduction in rent. I do have funds in a savings account I can draw on from my condo sale and a trust account as well. I do try to live within what I am paid with disability because we all know how fast money is gone. I also do not do christmas or birthday gifts either. I ask people not to give me anything as well to save money. I have done pretty well so far but it gets more difficult so that is where surveys and little mobile games and the tv ads that pay help get me extras. Today, I ordered a mcdonalds breakfast, will be getting 15.75 off and added another 12.68 that I earned to pay the credit card I used. I use a CC to pay the rent since you can set autopay. Never have interest on the card either which is good. Pay the rent, internet and mobile stuff off right away but have enough rewards to choose the next purchase that gets the rewards from that.

I am not sure what else I want to eat, something involving eggs, spinach, corn and wheat bran, chopped up with a couple of eggs and fried in my bigger pan sounds good to me.

When I picked up my breakfast at the door, I noticed that there are the HUGE piles of dirt in front of the house, hope that disappears soon.

Hope everyone has a good day, in pockets as needed.

@emac877 boy do I hear that, I feel like Im dragging myself to the finish line these last few weeks of testing and expected treatment and assuming everything is going to go to plan and Ill be strong enough for us to go somewhere ANYWHERE on vacation in late November. Need that mental break, you know?

Last night I had trouble getting pain under control and was very upset/frustrated at like, midnight. Hubs came and sat with me for an hour and a bit while I waited for the morphine to kick in. We've both been totally wiped out today, so I am really, really hoping this is just hangover from a really late night last night and not covid or whatever else is lurking out there. Not now, not this close to being fixed! A good friend got walloped by something last week and while he didn't test positive for Covid, I dont know what else it could have been.

Full body MRI tomorrow for my next 'check point' - weeee!

My daughters boy friends step father tested positive for Covid five days ago. She was there. So she hasn’t been home since. She doesn’t want me to be exposed. I miss her, she misses Theo like crazy. She’s going to be moving out again soon. Makes me sad, I love having the kids around. I’ll be an empty nester again. I’ll probably cry. Even though she’s a grown woman of 27. Soon 28. I never like being apart from them. My ds was over last night for dinner. I treated for TGI Fridays. We talked. It was so enjoyable!

Waving hello to all you folks tonight. Thank you all for being so caring and supportive.

Watched my beloved Phillies win wild card against Marlins. Gonna be a tough series with the Braves. This team really is on fire right now. Same ole same ole daily. Kinda feels like groundhog day feeling poor.

@sondraf In your pockets for screening tomorrow. I hope your pain is under control. It really is difficult to function and makes a person weary fighting it. @micmel Our friends are fighting the flu, and the granddaughter that lives with us was sick for 5 days. We asked her Mom to please keep her away from us. They do not go to doctors! I'm sorry your DD is moving soon. We will be having that same situation with DD and DGD. I think we are in for some sadness. sigh

Hope everyone enjoys a cool down. Even we are going into the 60's at night here in FL.

Irish~ I love the Phillies also. I love all the Philly teams actually. Have been a die hard fan since I was born. I loved that game. You’re right about the series with Atlanta! Seems like we always run into them at some point along the road to the World Series. Nice to know you’re a fellow Phillies fan. Hugs to you ! I dont want my dd to move so I know how it feels. I will definitely feel some sadness.

Mel Yep I know several people who have had Covid lately also. ….sigh Agree with you on the kids being home now that they're young adults it's nice to sit down and have a enjoy theircompany.

Irish GO PHILS!! So exciting I love this team they gel so well together. It's nice to have something to cheer about to take my mind off of things. Yes, the Braves are going to be a tough match if we can get the Phils back home and win at least one on the road..fingers crossed. We need the energy of the fans here!

Sondra, in your pocket for your appointment.

I have been dealing with a bit of a cold but it has only lasted a couple of days, planning to pick up more buckeys assuming there is any on the shelf. Shopping for groceries will be interesting as it is Thanksgiving. We will see.

I am boiling hotdogs and later sausages from the freezer, clearing out stuff. Planning to grind them up or simply cut them if they are going with pasta. I am also going to get rid of spinach as well because it is frozen, need more shelf stable. Almost have enough room for dessert in the freezer though.

Probably have some beans, corn, hotdog and an egg. Do a garlic seasoning and fry the ground up stuff in bigger frypan. Later, probably have some rice or pasta with beans. We will see.

Shana - I hope your travels were without incident and you're enjoying your visit in Florida.

Sunshine - you cracked me up with your jackhammer MRI!

emac - I'm hanging around in your pocket for your last few treatments. I admire your perseverance.

Sondra - sorry about the late night pain session. Nice that your DH sat with you for awhile until it subsided.

Irish - I hope you get a new MO soon, and that you hit it off right away.

Mara - it must be a challenge buying the 'right' amount of groceries for one person. It's challenging enough for two of us. I thought I had it wired in Florida, but when we moved to Texas, our options for eating out are seriously limited, and the grocery store is farther away. We eat a lot more meals at home now and I have a small kitchen so I need to make sure I have the right stuff, but not too much of it. LOL

Mel and Cookie(?), I know your feelings about kids moving out. I try to focus on how excited I am that they're moving on to their next big step in life, and less about how worried am about them (that never goes away!) and how much I miss them (that never goes away, either!). My son is not overly communicative and is too far away to visit regularly, but we catch up when he calls and he visits when he can. My daughter calls me several times a week, and since she's only a couple hours away, she tries to get up here for a visit once a month - or anytime we have family visiting. The hardest for me is worrying about them after I'm gone, but I try not to dwell on that.

I met with my MO to go over my scan results. He said the good thing was that the PET was stable from the last one, but he's a little concerned with my CA 26-27(?) inching up. He said I could wait another three months for a PET, but he preferred to get an MRI for a different look of what's going on in my liver, and I agreed to that. I should be hearing from next week them for scheduling, if I had to guess. DH went to the appointment with me this time; I wanted him to meet my TX MO for the first time - better now than when there are bigger problems.

SeeQ~my son has been gone for two years in January, my daughter was married and moved out for about four years. Then she divorced and moved back in with us. I didn’t mind although I was so sad for her. My son still hasn’t met someone. He tells me they are all interested in partying and drinking and he just isn’t. He would love to meet someone. But won’t settle. It makes me sad he’s lonely. It’s hard being a mother. Already, but this in being sick and not knowing how long you’ll be able to watch them grow. I just hope I see him happy before I go. I had bloodwork today. All is in and looks good. The markers aren’t in yet. That’s what I want to see. Hoping everyone is doing well.

Mel - my kids are both single, but financially self-sufficient, which is a huge relief in itself. And, I had both of them leave the house and come back for different reasons, then move on again. I hope they both find the just the right person. I'd like to know they did, but you're right, I don't think they should settle for someone who is not right for them and there's no rush.

Sunshine - I too loved the jackhammer MRI comment. It's perfect!

SeeQ, it is not bad buying for myself. I buy a lot of canned foods and keep things like pasta in containers until used up. Last night, I treated myself to a costco chocolate tuxedo cake since I had room in the freezer. I think that a single person could buy bigger quantities of something and just put them in trays for later.

Probably having a meat pie for breakfast, adding a little bit of beans and wheat bran, croutons and caesar dressing. It is an inexpensive meal for me and really good. Working on laundry as well and will be making up some foaming soap out of the more concentrated liquid soap, 4 to 1 of water to soap. I am also using up my bar soap, keep it in a container with hot water and sometimes add it to my dish detergent. I use laundry detergent bars in the same way and dump them in laundry. I just fill up containers with hot water after and they work well.

Not sure if I will go out today, will depend if the workers wrap up early, if not, can go out over the weekend for a mall walk.

In everyone's pocket as usual and hope all have a good day and weekend. Got my canned turkey and will add some beans, canned veggies and stuffing. Might save the cake for my own Thanksgiving dinner.

Hope that you have a nice Thanksgiving, Mara! Will you make your special dinner on Sunday?

I bought a Costco cheesecake earlier this year to take to a small gathering. A lot of was left and no one else wanted it, so I took it home, cut it into individualized portions and then put them in freezer bags. It worked really well and I enjoyed having a slice now and then for about 4 months.

Got all my bloodwork results in and they look pretty good tumor markers were low, same as six months ago . So Stable is welcome! I see my new onc on the 19th. I hope I click with her. I’d like to come off ibrance and just take anastrazole only. I’ve seen it done. I guess we shall see. I’m definitely coming down to 75 mg if not off completely!

hoping all of you ladies and lurkers are doing good. Hoping all the trips being taken are going well for you! Thinking of you special ladies here. Hugs to all

Mel- Glad to read you are stable. Hope you and your new MO hit it off well. And going off Ibrance, maybe?! That would be awesome for you!

I have scans this next Wednesday the 11th, with my new MO appointment the 20th. I hope I hit it off well with him too.

Went to my yearly eye exam yesterday. I now have cataracts— at age 53. Not bad enough yet for surgery. But, wow, age 53. My doc said she sees that in people with other serious health situations, so she seemed to think my cancer and the treatments have caused it.

So I need a hip replacement (not doing it yet) and now cataracts (not bad yet). I feel 83 rather than 53.

Saying HI to all. I read/lurk here every day.

Mel - fingers crossed the meeting with the new Onc goes well.

SondraF - In your pocket for MRI results and less pain.

I am getting a reprieve from Taxol this week. At my check in appointment yesterday my labs were good but I have been so weak and the neuropathy in my hands and feet has progressed so the PA for my oncologist felt it best we hold off. I have a rash on both hands that is now past my wrists and my hands and feet both feel a little numb but sometimes pins and needles. I will not miss the hard days when the infusion kicks in but at the same time I really don't want to quit at this point either. My breathing is better and I feel more stable even if it's a little weaker than I was. I don't have scans scheduled so I'll have to find out about that on the 12th when I go back for another check in and see if we are continuing with the chemo.

I'm going to go to the Grange Co Op with my mom today. She wants to pick out some pansies for her flower pots going into fall. Not sure if I will get any or not. I may need to get a bigger pole for my monstera plant. It's taking over the side of my living room! I named it Audrey2. It should probably be repotted but if I do that I'm afraid it will get bigger!

Mel So happy to hear stable! That would be great if you could scale back on treatment a little, especially if that would help your mouth. Fingers crossed that you hit it off with new MO.

Aj Wow, I am so impressed with the talent people have. Where do they even begin to make something so ginormous? Amazing.

emac Neuropathy can be rough hope you start to feel relief with this break. Wow Audrey2 must love that spot, beautiful! I love to give names to things too lol.

candy Well that just stinks! Our poor bodies take so much abuse over the years people just have no idea.

seeq Glad the PET looked stable, ugh on the CA numbers. Hope they are wrong but glad your MO is proactive and suggested MRI.

Mara That cake sounds delish, I am a big dessert fan. I try to limit my sugar but I also do treat myself, Enjoy. Geez I hope all that construction is finished soon.

Quiet day here just ran an errand and did some cleaning. Weekend looks a bit rainy but no big plans this weekend anyhow. Probably will make some soup and bake tomorrow as cooler true Fall weather is moving in.

Dodgersgirl Thinking of you hope you are well.

Big hello to all ,hope your having a decent day.

We have a Kroger grocery about 15 blocks from Costco. They make a tuxedo cake in a smaller size. I love them and could almost finish one by myself. Good choice, Mara.

Waving hello to everyone. Gosh it's good to hear some stable results and hopeful others are to come. Seems like more then a few of us are now dealing with a new MO. Fl. Cancer Specialists hasn't hired anyone yet. As I mentioned it'll have to be with a nurse practioner the end of the month. I know they aren't allowed to do infusion without a MO present from the last infusion I did as Dr. U was out sick and I had to move over to the other MO's treatment side. It was super busy, not even a seat in the waiting room. It seems the turnover in this field is something that should be better addressed. One can't help but wonder reasoning, is it really promotions to a new facility or a matter of a better paycheck. In my MO's case he was blunt that they would not assign a nurse practioner to him and he was burned out from being on call all the time. He was low man on the totem poll, not even with the practice a full year. sigh…

About those Phillies. Oh and love the Eagles, 76ers and Flyers, too. Born and raised 70 miles from Philly. What a great team and glad to see supporters here on the forum. It is a nice break from everyday b.c. and b.s. My love of the Phillies started when I was just learning to walk. We would hit the Reading baseball park, which is now home of the Fightin Phils. Then traveled with family members to Veterans Stadium a number of times. The kids bought me a wool Phillies baseball cap for Mothers' Day back years ago. I wore it today as we went out for lunch in our Mustang Convertible. Not too many thumbs up around here (Atlanta Braves fans for the most part). It was a cooler day and I felt like I could handle going out. Tonight, well I'm hurting pain wise, but I made it to Daytona. Bike Octoberfest is coming and we don't go anywhere near Daytona for 10 days.

In pockets for all that are in need for medical and social support.

irish I Glad to hear you had a nice drive sporting your Phillies cap, love it! I grew up about 10 blocks away from the Vet. I remember on a clear day hearing the roar of the crowd for the Phils and Eagles. Fond memories for sure. Now I'm just over in the bridge still sporting my gear as well💓

born And raised 50 miles outside of Philly love all of the Philly teams. Loving our Phillies and eagles about now. Always been a die hard flyers fan. So nice to see alL the Philly connections. Makes me smile. If only we were All still that close. We could meet. And have coffee together. I am the same distance to Philly as I’ve always been. I am nice philly girl at heart.

I agree about a few of us facing new MO’s. I hope we all are ok with the ones we’ve been assigned to! Thinking about everyone.
