Bigbhome, WOOHOO! I am so happy that your DH came through surgery well. I hope that the little blip in recovery is the only one he will have and that his recovery is a smooth one. That sounds like a very complex, intricate surgery. It is good that you had a top notch surgeon. It seems that you are quite a couple. You both need someone to keep you in line and prevent you from overdoing it. I am glad you plan to start back on Ibrance. We were all worried. You and your DH remain in my thoughts and prayers. Never doubt how important and dear you are to us. We all care about you.
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Good Morning,
Bigbhome, I am so happy you let us know about your DH... I know How hard it can be going through the motions of the surgery. Waiting is the hardest part sometimes. My DH, hates surgery days. I am sending positive thoughts and strength to both. Please make sure you're eating and keeping yourself well. I am also back taking my medicine. Ibrance. 125 mgs. I can already tell. But, I also just don't want to give up a darn second with my DH. I love him so very much. Please know we are in your corner and we adore you. Very much! You're muchly loved. ~M~.
Lynnwood ~. Hello gm hope you're doing well my friend!
Gracie~ Hello darling hope your bumps and bruises are healing. Sunday is already here. Then back to the week of work for those around me. I will sit alone most of the week. I am so glad you weren't hurt!
I'm supposed to get my hair done Tomorrow, I usually would love that. Now I am like ehhh, whatever. It's a little of a drive. I guess it depends on the Time. I don't do mornings well.. unless I have no choice. Like those planned surgeries and doctors appointments. Ok let's face it. I don't anything well anymore. I want to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. I don't want or need any hassles or any stress of any Kind. I am Hoping the sun will stay out and the clouds will go away ! For us all literally! Much love ~M~

micmel- getting your hair done might make you feel better.
yesterday I power washed the house and over did it. I'm feeling very sore today.I'm hoping to call it an early night I just have to get a few things done for work tomorrow. Good night everyone you will be in my prayers

You made it Big!!! Happy youโll resume ibrance tomorrow and that your DH is well.
Mae your outfit is Roadtrip cute.
Micmel Iโm glad you had a shopping trip outing.
Busy weekend and I need to go on a diet. Too much eating out means bread and fattening food including desert.
Tomorrowโs another day of my off ibrance week. Funny by day 2 I start feeling better.
For any port girls mine is different this time. I can feel the round disk and also a line which Iโm assuming goes into my vein. The first one I had I just had the bump. I donโt recall feeling a tube.
Have a good evening all.
Tanya

Holmes, it is easy to overdo it. I hope you feel better and more energetic tomorrow.
My DH and I are in Louisville for a few days. Our 9 year old grandson is in a robotics world championship competition here. I think it is a bit overwhelming for him seeing so many people from so many places. I am sure that he and his teammate will have fun and will have lots of stories to tell their friends when they return to NH. It is Kentucky Derby week here in Louisville, so my DH and I decided to visit Churchill Downs and take a tour. It was interesting, and we saw some beautiful horses. I couldn't resist trying on a few fancy hats in the gift shop. What do you think of this one, is it perfect for me?
Hugs and prayers from, Lynne

Tanya, my port is like that, can feel the tube up to my neck

50sgirl, love the hat, fit for a royal garden party

I love the hat!!! 50's. You can carry off that hat look for sure. I can never pull it offf. Never could. My neighbor used to go crazy over the derby and have a party with decorations and people who wear hats. It was a big party and people would be like five bucks each on a horse. And whoever won the race got the pot! I never won. But I also never bet either. I never win anything really. But I have been blessed with a lot of generous loving people in my life. Not so much my immediate family, but others somehow. Showing me love, better than any family member could. I find It even easier to deal with people that aren't even family! You look very pretty in the hat! So glad you had fun!
Holmes~ hope you're ok and not feeling too achey from all of your hard work! Rest up well!
Tanya~ I can feel the port also. I call it my third eye. I ca also feel the tube. It bugs me. But it way better than not having one. The sticks were a plenty and I hated them misfires. Hope you're healing well with yours. ~M~
Waving hello to Minnie.
Havenโt seen Grannax?? Hope sheโs ok. Missing you friend!??

Yes, I've been reading. It's less than two weeks till I leave for Hawaii, so im making my list. On the list was try on bathing suits. Yuck. But I squeezed into two that I think will do.
I've promised myself to only think Hawaii thought for the next three weeks. But the what if's keep pushing into my thoughts. My visit with MO didn't go to well, we just aren't comuncating. I will have PET when I get back. I think we both think it will see progession. We've tried to talk about next TX but are not on the same page. When I say I dont understand or why, she goes onto another subject without explaining.
In the meantime I got to see my granddaughter in an honors choir performance. They picked a few students from the fifth grade choir from all eleven elementary schools. They did some really hard music and she loved it. She will be in her school choir performance on the eighth. she's looking forward to this one because she has several solos.
My DD may have to have her shunt removed and a new one put in. ๐ My DS has his oral boards in one month and he's grouchy. ๐
It is spring here, I even have honeysuckle blooms.

Morning everyone! Been busy with sister visiting and spring outdoor stuff.
50's Girl-LOVE the hat! Have done derby parties in the past and had a ball! Made Kentucky Hot Brown sammies, and boy, were they good! What a great experience for your Grandson to be in an international competition. You had asked a few questions about my sister; she is my only sibling and lives in North Florida. We see each other once or twice a year, so the visits are very special. Love having her here. I hope you enjoy your time in Kentucky and are feeling well.
Gracie-hope you have recovered from your tumble off of the ladder. Here you were doing this great organizing project and that had to happen. Yuck!
Bighome-thank goodness the surgery for DH went well. You have had sooo much to cope with. I have been thinking of you and DH.
Mae-love your outfit! I hope the trip is dreamy!
Magda-I can't imagine what you have been through with your mouth. My daughter went through a huge ordeal with her teeth and it was such a trial. Filet Mignon cut into tiny pieces?
Grannax-You'll have a lovely time in Hawaii! I'm shopping for a new swimsuit also. Fun times... I am still wondering about Fulvestrant for you next. I want that PET to show stability at the least!
Lynne(Man)-you must be recovering from your week at Disney-hope it was wonderful and that you felt well.
Holmes-you go girl! But sorry you felt so beat up afterwards.
all of my other dear MBC sisters- thinking of you from a distance-may the force be with- love MJH

MJH, Iโm doing much better! Residual pain in upper and lower back, but nothing broken! And my project is almost done. Another few days and it will be. Am getting ready to put out spring flowers and start working outside! Love the spring!
50โs, love that hat! Have a mint julep with it and you will be ready! Tom and I lovedhorse races! We used to go to Hot Springs Arkansas once a year for the Arkansas Derby! My cousin knew one of the trainers and they always sat in his box, but I loved to be trackside! Wonderful to feel those horses rush past!
0 -
50s - I love the hat!! I live in Charlestown Wv so we go every once in awhile to see the horses run.
Gracie I'm glad you didn't break anything. What type of flowers do you usually plant?
Grannax- I'm sorry that your mo is not explaining the new TX options. I pray that your pet shows no progression. Go and enjoy Hawaii. Have you ever been before?
0 -
Lynne, love the hat! Looks like a fun visit!0
-
Lynne, love the hat! You look so chic! I love horse racing...ok, I love anything having to do with horses! I worked outside today for a couple of hours and I feel rejuvenated! Our confederate Jasmine is in full bloom and so are the Ligustrums, I have several hydrangeas getting ready to bloom! Now, all I need is a sprinkler system and some sod. Who knows, maybe this year!
Dh and I spent last night and again this afternoon in the ER. He is having problems with his bladder and now he has a fever. We see a specialist tomorrow morning. I sure hope that they can get him back to normal.
Grannax, Go enjoy Hawaii! Savor each moment! The progression either will , or won't be here when you get back. I know its difficult, but let it go. Just let it go and enjoy your family and the beautiful scenery! Make some wonderful memories for you and your family!
Gracie, What a busy bee you have been! I am glad you are healing!
MJH, Enjoy your sisters visit! I love that you are close!
Micmel, I hope you get some energy soon!

I'mmmm back!! I haven't read all the posts I've missed yet. I thought I post about my trip and some pics first. I will read them in the morning and reply then.
Disney was great, but exhausting. The house rental was only a 15 min ride to most of the parks (the furthest was 20). Closest we ever been. The house had 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The beds were very low to the floors though (I think they were previously waterbed frames). Our bedroom was on the first floor with it's own bathroom . Our youngest took the other bedroom on the first floor, the only one withouth it's own bedroom and tv (he traded with my sister, who took our Mom's place, so she could have her own bathroom). I told him he could use our bathroom (he ended up going upstairs, and using one of his sibling's). We told him he could use the living room tv, as much as he wanted. There was also a 1/2 bath on the first floor. The kitchen, living room area was open. There was a kitchen table, and an large dining room table, as well as a table outside under the overhang roof lanai. They made the garage into a game room. Foosball, ping-pong, pool table. The rest of the bedrooms and baths were upstairs. The pool was concrete with a hot tub at one end, that has a small waterfall into the pool. There were no railings to hang onto to get into the pool or hot tub. A little tough for me, though I managed to do it. The grand kids would start in the hot tub, and go down the 1 foot waterfall into the pool. They went in every night we got back (between 5 and 7, 8-10 hr days in the parks, and I was being pushed by my husband or one of the 2 sons, all the time!). There lanai, pool area is all screened in (alligators), and there were lounge chairs, a gas grill, an outside shower, and a "fence" (that could be taken down, we left it up for the kids) in front of the pool. The house really worked for us, the only things I can complain about, are those beds, and the maintenance of the house and pool. Lightbulbs didn't work, house was dirty when we got there, the floors and walls mostly, and the pool was turning green on Wed, due to us having it heated. We ate our meals there every night ($400 grocery bill on Sat, when we arrived). The kids had a ball!
Sunday, we went to Epcot that day. They were having there flower and garden festival. So it was very pretty. They had topiary characters and flowers everywhere (my son-in-law took pictures of them all, it was his first time going to Disney too!). We had brunch in Norway, with the princesses. They got to see Belle, Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) and Snow White (I found it strange that Elsa and Anna weren't in their own castle, the did wait in a 45 min line to see them later though, and we did the Frozen ride in Norway, right after brunch). It downpoured on those of us that did not want to ride the Tower of Terror (those of us who had been on it before, and our granddaughter Ryleigh). Luckily, I had an umbrella and some cheap $1 ponchos. Then we did a Beauty and the Beast show, and it became a thunderstorm. We left after that. They kids and grandkids went back, and did the Test Track ride. I couldn't believe our grandsons went on all those crazy rides, and liked them and wanted to do them again (Matthew was the only one who didn't like the Tower of Terror). They also got to see the night show. My sister Colleen and I stayed home, and enjoyed the quiet! I think my husband would have liked to stay home too, but he was the driver for the 2nd mini van (they could not all fit in one).
Monday, we did Hollywood Studios. We had lunch in the Drive-In Sci-Fi theater. We didn't get a care. They had no room for 11. We sat at 3 umbrella tables in the back and could still see the movies. Later, it downpoured (only day it rained all week!) on those of us that did not want to ride the Tower of Terror (those of us who had been on it before and didn't like it, and our granddaughter Ryleigh). Luckily, I had an umbrella and some cheap $1 ponchos. Then we did a Beauty and the Beast show, and it became a thunderstorm. We left after that. The kids and my husband again went back, for more rides and the night show.
Tuesday, we went to Animal Kingdom. Ryleigh, Colleen, and I did not go on Everest (a roller coaster) , and waited for the rest (they had fast passes) and were done pretty quick. I did make the mistake of going on the Dinosaur ride. I had gone on that one and the one in Universal years ago, and I know I disliked one. It was the Disney one. You are in a car, and are bounced and jolted around. My husband and I think we got whiplash. Our neck muscles were sore for the rest of the week, and my ribs still hurt, and my right side started hurting worse Sat night. I have a sharp pain if I move certain ways. The last 2 days have killed me getting in and out of beds, and forget sleeping on my side (I sleep on my left) and I have a temperpedic adjustable bed (I call it my hospital bed). I started my steroids today, so that means no sleep until Sunday night (chemo on Thursday this week). I will see the PA on Thursday, and tell her about it. I put a Lidocaine patch on my right ribs, took my marijuana, tylenol, and even took an oxycodone (you know the pain is bad when I resort to that!). I probably broke a rib. Nothing they can do about it anyhow. Our final ride of that day was the river rapids ride. We all got soaked, and went home.
Wednesday, we took the day off, while my sister and the rest went to Blizzard Beach (one of the Disney water parks). My in-laws had traded their timeshare for a condo in the same town as us (Kissimee), and they were 20 miles away! His father was having some hip issues (it look like sciatica) and we drove out to them. 4 tolls later, and we get to there condo. The condo is nice, but it is in an industrial area. They only restaurant they have is a Subway sub shop. We had them get in our car and we took them on the back roads, hoping to find someplace for lunch. We didn't find anything until we got to our area. We ate at an Outback, and then brought them to our house. My husband had dropped of half the kids to the water park (free parking there, instead of the $22 a day park parking), and about 15 min after we got there, they had called to pick them up. They all got to see their (great)grandparents, and of course the grandkids all hopped into the pool, after being wet all day! Then we drove them back to their condo and I gave him 6 of my Lidocaine patches to try on his back. We didn't get home until 7. Some day off!
Thursday & Friday, we did the Magic Kingdom. We did Fantasyland and Tomorrowland on Thursday. They got fastpasses for Space Mountain. Ryleigh and I went on Dumbo. She pushed me around the park. Good thing she is big for her age! Then they all went on the teacups, and my husband ended up pushing us for our fast pass to see the princesses. Her favorite is Rapunzel. We went straight in and there was only one girl in front of us. There was actually 2 princesses. The one from the Princess and the Frog movie (her name begins with an N, I always forget it) was also there. She was thrilled (as any 8 1/2 year old girl would be). We did lots of other rides and shows too We didn't get home until after 7 that night, nobody went back.. On Friday, we did Frontierland and Adventureland. They got fastpasses for, Thundermountain (a rollercoaster) and Splash Mountain (a flume ride). The longest wait in line we had was Pirates of the Carribean, over and hour. It was awful. A lot of the rides they let me in a different way and the other 11 could come too, but not that one. We all had to wait. We went home for supper (as usual) and they were heading back for their Splash Mountain pass, and our daughter wanted to get silhouettes of the 3 grandkids (we had done it for our 4 kids). My husband did not feel like driving back again, so they would need to squeeze 8 in a 7 passenger minivan. We suggested one of the 2 smallest (our older daughter or our sil) sit on the floor, between the 2 seats in the middle. Well my sil (who was pouting and being an ASS all week, I knew I should have not had him come) just stayed in his bedroom, while the rest were waiting outside for him. Our younger daughter went upstairs, and slammed the door as she left. I don't blame her for being mad. Well they never got to Splash Mountain, but did get their pictures, and saw the night show. They didn't get back until midnight. We left the house by 9 the next morning (our flight wasn't until 12pm). The only night show they didn't see was the Animal Kingdom one. I watched it this morning, on you tube, and thought it was ok (compared to the others, maybe you have to be there).
That was my week! Next vacation is local (at my favorite lake here, Newfound, it's an hour and half away) the last week of August, through Labor Day. Hopefully, Mom doesn't end up missing it (she ended up in the hospital for 2 nights while we were gone, they are now thinking it was her heart, not her COPD, she is seeing a cardiologist, even though her EKGS, and echo were normal).
Hugs to all!
Lynne

9 of the 11 of us (our son-in-law Nick took the picture, and Ryleigh is at the table in front of Aiden), at our Princess brunch in Norway at Epcot. On the left is Aiden, our younger daughter Lindsay, Our older son Bryan Jr, my sister Colleen (she's number 3 out of us 4 sisters, I'm number 1), on the right starting from the back, our younger son Kevin, our older daughter Christiana,my husband Bryan, your's truly, and Matthew. You would think that it being in Elsa & Anna's castle, they'd be visiting, nope. They had to wait 45 min in line to see them.
I am only posting them posing with Ariel (Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty (Aurora), were also there). She told Aiden that he had the same color hair as her. She took his hand and had him stand right next to her. The had a parade with all the princesses and kids later, and she came right up to him and grabbed his hand and he stayed with her for the entire time. For the whole week, he said they were in love and were going to get married. LOL
This is at the entrance to Epcot. It was the flower and garden festival. Topiary of all the characters throughout the park. They had all the main characters (Donald had his own with his nephews elsewhere), Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy.
The grands at the butterly garden enterance. They had netting over it all to keep them inside.
This is where we ate in Hollywood Studios. The Sci-Fi Drive-in Theater. We couldn't get a car to sit in with 11 of us. So we sat in the 3 small umbrella tables in the back. This was our view.
Aiden and Mom shared a shake.
Matthew enjoying his he shared with Dad.
Us and the three grands in Animal Kingdom. Aiden always had to have a map at each park, he showing the latest. I'm not sure what ride we are waiting on.
They got their faces painted (for almost $20 a piece, but how could we say no!), later at Animal Kingdom.
Sorry, this one is out of place. This was also in Epcot. 9 out of 11 again. Nick (the son-in-law) and Aiden are missing.
Me and Bryan at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort in the Magic Kingdom (the monorail goes through it). Our last day at the parks.Goofy put out his hand, so I gave him five. He put it out again, so I placed my hand in his, then he kissed it. My sister Colleen blew a kiss to Mickey and he blew one back, so we are both feeling the love.
The kids and Minnie. Pluto, Donald, and Daisy were also there.
Us on the Carousel in the Magic Kingdom (I guess this was Thursday, different shirt LOL).Bryan asked if I wanted to ride the horse, I told him my horse riding days are done! The kids and grands were right in front and in back of us.
Sorry for so many pics! There are 100's, so I really cut down!

bigb. that's my goal to do just what you said. I will not let MBC steal one minute of my fun. Scanxiety is not allowed to enter Alani Disney Resort. It's all magic there, reality not allowed. We are planning a leisurely visit, its not a theme park. Lynn I do not know how you had the stamina to do all that. It wore me out to read it. But im glad you did. Your grandchildren will never forget it.
bigb I hate that your DH is having complcations. I will be watching derby all day Saturday. I got to go twice way back in 69 and 70. I loved every minute and won't miss the derby for anything.๐๐๐น๐ท๐

well wow! That's sounds like one heck of a vacation... you're energy is remarkable! I am just always exhausted. I'm pretty close to demanding an ibrance reduction. Enough is enough. It sounds like Lynne you had a blast and it also sounds like you're very strong and you don't slow down. I am so in awe, with all the things you guys do. I am hoping against hope that the weather will Pep me up A bit this week. I don't like 87 defeees already. But I'll get outside and try to walk. I just don't want to see anyone I know. I don't feel like talking about cancer. Period. Get it through your head neighbors? Welcome back Lynne. I hope you're mama is ok and it's not heart related. I'll keep your family in thought. Those pics look like a family filled with jokes and love and memories that will always be talked about during picnics and parties, long after generations are gone.
Hi Bigbhome~ (another wonderful woman) I hope youโre are about to save some. Of your energy. You're doing double time. And I want to make sure you're getting enough rest as well. Eating as well = energy.i am thinking about you guys a lot! But for me, I don't know what to do. It's like the first week on ibrance all over again. Like I just started it. Dear MicMel, hope you will get more energy soon! Don't give up to the tiredness, start walking a little bit, than rest, than go again walking. I guarantee you in one week will feel refreshed and the negative thoughts will get less and less. For me walking is the best medicine against depression .
Love and hugs. Elen

I believe that it's a combination of healing from the Doosey of a surgery at the end of March. I finally saw the incision line this week. It is literally from hip bone to hip bone. No wonder it's tsking some time. I look like they sealed an envelope folded over. I do notice some days are better than others. But I also have been told not to over due it either. What the heck does that mean ? Living and cleaning and washing laundry is nothing I can do now. No way. Even before the surgery I had to do things slowly. I just worry .... I need to be in top shape for her wedding. I want DH to be proud of me. He's so special and I love him. I want to feel worthy of him fighting alongside with me. It's so hard. Everyday. We all know. This wedding is something our family needs to happen We need happy. Plus it will be her Time to Finally moveout. They are excited I am sure.
I am considering taking my ritilan again in the morning. See if that helps more. I don't really like them either. Have a great night sleep ladies. ~M~. Much love.

did anyone read that crazy stuff going on in NM? Some predator is sending elementary girls care packages in the mail. He is sending them personally to their school and no one known who they are from but parents are freaking out. It hasn't been mentioned what the packages contained but ,Just in case anyone lives near there. Sounds kinda creepy to me. Especially since it seems to be young girl focused. Predators. Leave the kids alone. They already have enoughto learn to be weary of, you don't have to be a menace to our young people's safety. I hope they catch him soon. Not cool at all! Sometimes they include a burner cell phone and a prepaid phone card that canโt be traced, and a prior set up google or hotmail account set up, for him to contact them whenever. ! Sick bas*ar*. Needs to be locked up!
Thiking of everyone today. Much love ~M~

today has already proven to be interesting! Sometimes I don't even have explanations for the crap that goes on. My son had an asthma attack at work today, he hasn't had one in years. Was very scary. Got a call from him, could barely understand, a co worker grabbed the phone and said he was having issues breathing. I said he needed his inhaler. Luckily they had one in the emergency kit. They allowed him to lay down until he felt better. He rested for about an hour and when he comes home for lunch. He can grab his to put inside his desk! Allergies must be really bad. Already. He hasn't had that happen in years. Scared me! Never ever stop being mama bear ๐ป that I can say. ! Please be careful if youโre at risk.
So I was informed today that my DD is getting married on May 29th.... the reception will still be in September, but they figured out that they would save a lot of money on health care, if she were to go on his policy, which I totally agree with. Makes perfect sense to me. I am glad to see them thinking that way! Adult thinking yay!
Now onto the tricky very possible high stress situation for me. My mom called me and told me that her name was pulled for the housing list for lower senior income housing literally 15 mins from me. Now I don't mind that at all. I would enjoy seeing her a lot. I just can't take on anymore than I have. Their vehicles are questionable, to know if they would even make it here if driven. Who's going to pack ? Who is paying for all of this?? It always falls on me. And my DH... none of the other siblings are even functional. My favorite brother who we are close with. Lives in Arizona. So there is no local help. My sister and mother haven't talked in 13 years. And my other brother the narcissist, lives literally 25 mins from me and we haven't talked in 13 years. Either has my mother. He needs serious mental help. So I am her closest child. But I am Not strong like I used to be. I don't know how much I can do. But either way. They are getting older and want to be close to family. I don't blame them at all. I would Enjoy very much seeing my step father often. I love him like my real father. A really wonderful man. My mom is lucky he stayed with her. She can be quite crabbie. So now all these things are flying around in my head!!!ugh. All while still recovering. Today I feelPretty good. I hope it keeps up!
Thinking of you all. Much love ~M~
