My parents had half- birthday parties for me because Iwas born on Christmas day! So, they had it on June 25. Fun memories. Yes, January is a month we all need to have a fun party. It's a depressing month for me, too.

I never heard of a half birthday. I love it and will have surprise half birthday planned post haste.
I’ve had a cold in June July and August. Still forging ahead oh well people keep coming near me I tell them I’m sick so free germs for healthy people.
Met a new grandson today he’s been a secret for 11 years. My son had him and didn’t want to tell us since yeah he was married to someone else. Well my daughter did ancestry and this kid pops up as her nephew.
He’s beautiful very nice and smart and I’m sorry I didn’t know him all these years happy we met him today for lunch at Dave and busters and then kid arcade time. Ahhhhh life

Micmel, I am not metastatic. But I read your post and I nod. I say, uh-huh. I understand. When I was first going through the steps to get to a diagnosis, my mind went to Hell. I maintain that you do not have to be dead to be in Hell! Your mind can take you places of pure, hopeless despair right here and now. That is where I went when this all started and to be honest, getting up every day in pain, going to bed every night with pain (in breast and armpit and ribs), I wonder what's going on. I wonder if shit isn't bubbling away in there. Spreading. So ... the brain games, the torture of mourning in advance, I get it. I truly do.
I would offer advice except I don't have any. But if I could get you to do one thing, it would be to set aside all that misery, hog tie that sadness for 30 minutes, just 30 minutes and focus on your lipstick. That's right. ALL your lipstick. Put it all on the kitchen table. With a box of tissues and a mirror and some baby oil (for removing) and sit there and put on ALL your lipsticks. If you have them lipliners, eyeshadows, blush, mascara too. Put it all on! And while you are, you could, you know, do like a TV ad and make a running commentary: "This shade, Porno Pink, is flattering to the average American housewife who likes to tend her roses in the morning and drink secretly in the laundry room in the afternoon. Porno Pink helps distract from the black bags under the eyes by neutralizing that haggard look and is frankly such an ugly colour that no one notices your eyes and instead gasps, 'good god, what happened to your mouth?' It's also always fun to get a little on your teeth, just for that shock value when you go to the grocery store." Then smile widely at yourself in the mirror, with lipstick on your teeth.
Then apply eyeliner. Lots and lots of eyeliner. For a truly freaky look apply lipliner as eyeliner - but only if you are feeling stout hearted. Once you have applied your eyeliner like the 13 year olds do, like they have a crayon and are drawing and big, fat, circle on a piece of paper, blink at yourself in the mirror. Apply your voiceover ad work : "We call this the smoky eye, or more accurately, Oh My God Someone Smote My Eye! This look is either very sexy or very much like you need medical attention. This look is appropriate for nowhere, ever. But if you wear this look to the grocery store, no one will notice the lipstick on your teeth." Then smile into the mirror with your ghoul eyes and lipstick still on your teeth.About this time, with you as cosmetically coated as you can be, Hub will walk in, stop, stare at you, searching for words as men often do when they are frightened. Say nothing. ACT NORMAL. It is perfectly normal to look like you were in the cosmetic department when a bomb went off and covered you in product. Smile at him. Let him appreciate your Porno Pink lipstick teeth. Cause this shit is sexy as hell!
For just 30 minutes play dress up. The misery will be there when you get back to it. But it might not recognize you! Hugz.

runor, I would ROTFLOL if I thought I could get back up. As it is, I am LOL.
Then, I'm going to drink secretly in the laundry room, which up until now only hid one secret. It's the perfect spot to hide a box of pop tarts because no one else will ever stay there long enough to discover the stash.
Micmel, I hope your test day was okay and that you got that tummy tamed. Now, go get those cosmetics 💄 !
Tanya, what a lovely surprise! You have a lot of spoiling to do ☺

Tanya! Congratulations on a “new" grandson! Whoa, what a story!
These days I'm fascinated by geneology and am researching mine and my husband/son's family tree. I am hearing a few more stories like yours, where the dna matches on places like Ancestry are making these kinds of discoveries!
There was a super interesting show this weekend on dateline or 48 hours, one of those type shows, about adult children trying to locate their birth mothers who had “abandoned" them at birth, leaving them on a doorstep or a convenient store parking lot or even giving birth in a hospital and leaving soon after without a trace. The dna is what’s the game changer now. The stories were amazing.
Life has its surprises, doesn't it? How wonderful for you!

Micmel, thinking of you today as you have your tests. I hope you're feeling better. Just think about all the love surrounding you - your beloved DH, your DS & DD & DSIL, all of us on BCO. We can't take away your pain or your fears but we can continue caring about you. Here's hoping for a good report & happier days ahead for you!

Just popping in to say hi! Will have to go back and read all I’ve missed! We are a busy group and this thread moves fast! Busy week and weekend for me last week. Our youngest son moved into an apartment with his girlfriend and boy was that a lot of work!! We did all the work ourselves to save them money . I know I overdid it but I’m trying not to let them see how exhausted I am and how much I’m hurting. I’m very grateful that I was well enough to help them and participate in all of the activities. Now there’s only 3 of us in the house, our oldest has Aspergers and will always stay with us.0

Tonya what a huge surprise. He's so cute and lucky to have you as his grandmother. I have the ancestry kit but did not know it would give names of relatives. I better get that in the mail.
Runor I wish I could meet you someday. How do you dream this stuff up? I bet it would work as a distraction from MBC. I have tons of make up, even false eyelashes that I have never worn. I could put all of it on, leave my very long, white hair down and go to Kroger. I bet I would get arrested.

Grannax, DO IT! And please provide pictures!

Ok, looks like runor and grannax have inspired a photo challenge. I only ever wear lipstick but I do have some makeup giving to me as Xmas gifts and I will put it on this week and post a pic.
Who’s gonna join me?!

Micmel, sorry you are not feeling so good, hope you feel better soon. Thanks runor for making me laugh too!! Awaiting these pics of over made up ladies, will have to make sure you have enough remover to take it all off again or the DHs will think we have all gone crazy. Sometimes it's good to go 😜 crazy!! Tanya, congratulations on a new (older) grandson! How lovely to be able to converse and get to know him straight away, and no diapers 😂. Happy half birthday illimae, just realised I missed an opportunity!
Bloods for me tomorrow, and treatment. Then off to see Mamamia 2 tomorrow evening. DH and I have been busy making chutneys while there is so much cheap fruit.
Thoughts with all our ladies this evening. Hope you are all well as you can be and enjoying life. We have to make the most of what we have, there is no replay.
Good night from 🇪🇸 x

Hi all! Illimae, I accept your challenge! One day this week, I figure on a day Dh is frustrating me I will make up and take photos! Ha! He will love it! Speaking of Dh, he had his last surgery this morning and it went well! Four down in four months, we are Done!! Nothing left but rehab and healing Wahoo🎉🎈 Yes, it is time for the happy dance!!!!
Tanya, Wow! I have a friend who found out that she has a half sister out there! I keep hearing these stories about found relatives and past secrets and scandals uncovered. Part of me wants to dive in and see what happens, but another part is worried about any possible ensuing drama! Still undecided. Enjoy your new grandson!
Micmel, sorry that you are having a rough day. Hug that dog for me! What a scary event!
To anyone who loves animals, you have to go see the movie Alpha! Such a lovely movie! Also, if you used to love Winnie the Pooh when you were younger, you will probably enjoy Christopher Robin! The message is one that should be seen by everyone!
Waving hi to everyone!

Muddling~Hello there. Trying to pull my ass out of my sheets bit did get some good sleep. I have heard A lot of people with issues from sweeteners. That is scary. I am glad you figured out what was going on with you ! As if we don't have enough to already figure out ! Still battling a little headache. But tummy feels good and have been keeping medicine down. It's always something. I have such a special day with the shower and of course I have to catch something. But I have a week to Get my blood work done. Not that I'm in any hurry to get XGeva either. Have a good night darling ! Hugs ~M~

Grannax~I love the idea of half birthdays. My DH's birthday is Christmas Eve and it's alwys shitty for him. This year should not only be a lot quieter. But it's going to be a heck of a lot cheaper also. My princess without a country is married!! And doesn't celebrate Christmas anymore. That's a Grand saved immediately. But I like the that idea for my DH! How was the first day of school? Much love ~M~

Tanya~ all I can say is wow, congratulations on your new grandson. That's amazing. I have never heard of anything so cool. You have some catching up to do. He is just as handsome as the rest of your good looking brood! Give him a big hug from our family here!! You have an amazing family. I love the travel the stories and pictures. I can't even imagine the joy you all must feel. Congratulations🌷🌷😊. Much love ~M~

Runor~ once again you have me laughing out loud and imagine our goon squad all maked up out and wandering around public. I don't even wear a lot of make up at all but I have to say how funny it does sound. And of course our amazing Mae who is always the life of the party is right on board. You guys are such good medicine. I always enjoy all of your posts. Always. Thank you for always being around to make me smile and lift me up. All of you !!
Waving hello to Divine..How is the foot healing?. Well I hope. Glad to see you!
JKL~you're such a sweetheart and supportive friend. Thank you so much for caring! Now if I could kick this sinus infection!! Ugh! Hugs to you !
Lynnwood~I know exactly what you mean about over doing it. I can relate totally. (Carrying up a night stand table alone with a spine met or two) I hope that they will settle into their new Home happily.
Today I had to gasp my daughter called me to just say hello. Then proceeded to tell me her check engine light was on... hmmmmm take it to get looked at. What if I need a new car? Ask your husband I said! Wow that felt good! I knew she was hinting around for help of some sort. I've spent over 10k in this wedding when it's all done. Ask your real father. Who is just by the way attending like any other Guest. So weird!! Get some rest !!!! ~M~

Minnie~Hi darling. I'll be thinking of you with your blood work..tomorrow..I have seen mama Mia theee times and I love it. The stage show is amazing. I loved it everytime I saw it. Recommend it to anyone, cats as well!!! Amazing costumes and story.. singing. I loved it! After that two weeks later. Saw Elton John. Bucket list. Then Barry Manilow. Also fabulous! Ronnie Milsap ... my favorite of all favorites George Strait!!!
I miss going to shows. Have a great time. Hugs to you.
Mae~ break out the pics!! 😊🌷
Bigbhome~ so happy to hear your Dh's Surgeries are done. That must be such a relief. You have been so strong for him. Wonderful wife you are. It's so nice to see you here. I know it's been such a rough many months for you guys! Sending you huge hugs and kisses!! Much love ~M~

Yay Bigbhome, we’re thrilled to hear about DH’s recovery, you can finally breathe.

Micmel, when you feel up to it, slather on a few layers and take a selfie. If we are the goon squad I think we need to get group t-shirts with a picture of Phyllis Diller and the caption Goons Gone Wild! If any of you need guidance in how to craft a sleek and put together look, Phyllis Diller is an inspiration on how to dress for all occasions.
I look forward to Crayola eyeliner and lipstick on teeth shots. I might have to get a feather boa and see if I dare a selfie? Illimae, lead the charge!!!

So, the only time I ever really wore makeup was a Halloween (many years ago) where I dressed as Mimi from the Drew Cary show. I still have the feather boa, lol.
And I will do the challenge but not today, it’s date night, not fright night.

Mae~ that's awesome. You really do resemble her and the costume is really awesome ! I was never a dress up kind of person... for Halloween or anything like that!! I barely wore make up, I would avoid Halloween parties at all costs. You lookgreat! I had forgotten her. Wasn't she from the Drew Carey show ?? You're so much fun! Have a good time tonight. lol at not fright night! Much love ~M~

Mimi is THE BOMB!!!!

Bigbhome, wishing your husband a speedy recovery.
Micmel, hope you are feeling better today!
My bloods were all good today, so had usual treatment, scan next month so fingers crosse

Minnie, yay for good bloodwork!
Bigbhome, so glad your husband's surgeries are behind you. Hoping for a long time of calm, peaceful healing!
Micmel, I'll bet your doggie is staying at your side! Decades ago we had a big dog hit by a car and I took care of her, carrying her in a sling out to potty and feeding her from my hand when she didn't eat any other way. When she recovered she rarely left my side and was super protective of me.

Minnie~ clapping hands for good blood work! I had to reschedule mine until Monday. Had a bug of some sort 🐜! Yuck yuck. It seems to hit me so much harder now then whenever I used to get sick before diagnosis. A little cold can turn bad in a week. Cancer is nothing. It's misery. And so I said the heartburn that I get from all of the pills. Very uncomfortable. Not constant. But does seem to happen with things I eat. I also think my other problem is not eating enough and then then stomach acids wreck havock!! I need to wake up and eat immediately and that is just not what happens. I feed the dogs at 7:00 if I feel goood I have my. Coffee. If I don't feel good then I don't have it. I go right back to bed and sometimes sleep until noon. Somedays later!! I am just always tired. I want to reduce mgs to 100 but he never agrees with me. The ain't broke don't fix it attitude. But I think accumulation is occurring and it is just strong for my body. I never had heartburn before chemo and it's awful! Hope you are resting soundly!
Muddling~ my doggie is always right next to me for sure, this has changed our relationship and he knows now that he doesn't like to have me out of sight. He is my buddy. The hound dog! I'm just so relieved I found him. When I was young one of our dogs hung himself in the garage by his collar grabbing on the edge of a post.. it was very traumatic. So I get freaked out about stuff like that. I also had a husky when I was teenager that was hit by a car and I heard it happen. I heard the sound of a loud scream and it my my dog. He died in my moms arms. It was something else. I have come to learn my childhood home is up for sale & I feel such sadness in seeing the pictures of the Home. My mother couldn't afford to keep it and it was lost. I had such happiness there. I wasn't sick then. I was free.
Hope everyone is ok. Haven't seen Gracie!! Miss you friend.
Much love ~M~

Claudia-So glad your husband is done with the surgeries, and he's doing well. I hope he has a quick recovery. Hugs!
Tanya-Wow! How wonderful to find out you have a "new" grandson! So glad you got to meet him. I hope your cold is going away.
Mae-You looked perfect in your Halloween costume and make-up! I loved Mimi on the Drew Carey show!
Grannax-My mother, sister, and I said we should celebrate our birthdays on our half birthdays. We are all in Dec (and both my grandfathers, a grandmother, aunts, my sister's triplets, and one of my grandsons, as well as friends too). Mom is the 5th, my sister is the 17th (we are the same age for 4 days), and I'm the 21st. June would be nicer and we'd get more than one gift, as kids, from relatives. Not here's your birthday/Christmas present (my husband pulls this all the time!). It really bothered me to have my birthday present wrapped in Christmas paper (my Mom did this until I did it to her, one birthday), and have santa birthday cakes! I may be having a 57 1/2 birthday next June! LOL
Lynnwood-I'm glad you got the couple moved in. Sorry you overdid it! Yes times have changed. I didn't move in with my husband until we were married. We both left our parents' homes to our apartment. I moved into it a month before the wedding, he didn't. Of course my 3 younger sisters all moved in with their husbands' before they married. I was the first to marry and am still married to him, and the 3 of them have been married and divorced twice, once, and they youngest is on her 3rd husband. Our only married one (our younger daughter), had her first son before they married. He wanted to marry her before she had him, and she said no, she didn't want him marrying her just because she was pregnant. They got married when he was almost 11 months old. They are still married and have another son too. Our eldest, was with his girlfriend for years when she got pregnant. They did get engaged after their daughter was born, but broke up when she was one. Our older daughter just moved in with live in boyfriend number 5. She was engaged 5 years ago, and he called it off 4 months before the wedding. He thought that they'd be moving into my home together, and not getting their own place. Our youngest moved in with his girlfriend a couple months ago, in NY. First time in 32 years (our eldest's age) we have an empty nest. Of course the 3 older kids and grandkids are here often, but I do have lots of quiet moments. Love it!
My first chemo on Thurs, went well. I was there 1/2 hour longer than the past chemo. They gave me iv steroids and an anti-nausea med before hand. It's a combo of 3 drugs. One is an iv, the other 2 are injections through the iv. Headed up to VT, shortly after, and I'm feeling very sweaty. Soaked through my clothes, even though the a/c is on. I never get like that. I took a cool shower once we got there, and changed into my "moisture wicking" nightgown. I sweated all night too. Friday I was fine. My appetite has been next to nothing. I have been having diarrhea, once or twice a day. I take my prescription and it stops it though.
We had severe thunderstorms on Friday, for the rehearsal for the wedding. We had the BBQ inside, and it worked well. It rained early in the afternoon on Sat, and we were worried we'd have to have the wedding in the tent. It remained cloudy, but the rain cleared, and they were able to have the wedding outside. My nephew had his brother (that lives with our eldest) as his JP. His brother runs a lot of Comicons, and introduced the groom to the "Rock's" WWE song. The groom comes running down in his sunglasses, and then the 8 groomsmen lined up next to him (he took of the sunglasses). The bridesmaids came down in the traditional way. The JP had us laughing over antics they got into when they were young (the groom and bride are both the youngest of 5). The couple wrote their own vows (which were comical too). At the reception, the parents and grandparents were introduced in the normal way, then Patrick (JP) once again introduced each of the attendents, comically too. I had bought fake eyelashes (since I have none), my younger daughter (who also styled my wig the week before), did my make-up. Well she went to put the glue on the eyelash, and the glue was all dried up. Instead she put tons of eyeliner and eye shadow on me. I normally only use some mascara and cover-up. She wanted to put foundation, and make my eyebrows dark. I put on the rest of my make up myself. I know one of my friends took my husband and I picture together. I haven't seen it online yet. Here is a picture of our nephew James (and my godson) and his wife Stacy on their wedding day on Saturday though.

Lynne(Man)~I am glad you got the chemo out of the way! You're amazing. I think they are a lovely couple and I love the dress. I have been stuck on watching say yes to the dress. Based on what I can see in the picture she chose beautifully! The weather has been a rainy humid soup mess. With no real good beach days to speak of. Not that I would go. I was informed this by my daughter. I can't handle the heat anymore. I used to be on that beach at 11:30 am and would stay till well close to 5:00pm. Loved it. I saw that they gave you steroids... I am allergic. I don't know how they feel but people say they get angry or very strong bursts of energy?? Is that true.?? I have also heard of the weight gain. Goodness knows I do not need that. Glad you were able To attend The beautiful wedding. It's so special when the family gets together and celebrates...I know my DD has the reception coming up and I am already exhausted. More decorating..more exhaustion... but a lot of memories to be made. I just hope I feel good that day!! I'm a hoping and a hoping !! Ready for more rain and storms! All summer long. Rainy rainy rainy..
Time for bed! Good night ladies ! ~M~

Lynne, ( man) glad your chemo went well. I hate the sweating!!’ I have never been one to sweat and now I’m constantly soaked and my face looks like a tomato! The wedding looks beautiful!! Love her dress, I’m also a watcher of say yes to the dress. I, like you, never lived with my husband before we were married. He even had his own apartment and I wouldn’t dare sleep over... my father wouldn’t stand for that!! Now this is the norm. They do plan on getting married. I told my son to start saving for a ring, I know she and her family are expecting it. Micmel, I feel you about the rain!!! It’s been awful here! Wet and humid!! My basement gets water, my washer and dryer are down there. My husband is constantly down there sweeping the water and putting fans to dry. There’s 3 litter boxes down there and the wetness causes the litter to be drug up to the kitchen. What a mess!!! I’m at the end of my rope with it! It no sooner gets dry and it rains again!!0

I'm feeling fairly well today. I take my I & L in the morning, so I try to do anything I need to do early in the day before my energy runs out. I walked for 35 minutes and did my arm exercises with my one pound weights. I feel like a baby with those tiny weights but with a compression fracture I think it's better to be safe than sorry. The exercises are gentle for the same reason but I want to strengthen the upper body muscles.
In the winter I was barely able to walk 20 steps to the bathroom and 20 steps back even though I was on oxygen 24/7. Today I got 2,500 steps without resting and not on oxygen. I am going to get back to 10,000 steps a day but it might take a while! I'm resting now and probably won't get much else done today, just a little chore here and there.
