Simone~I Am considered oglio..... I only have three spots in my bones, my last tumor marker draw was 21. Ive never had bad bloodwork before so I have been very lucky. I have limited disease and bone only. Not a picnic. By any means... but I'll take it for sure ! I hope against hope we all get to a point to where we all don't have to be medicated anymore !!!!

Lynne,
I don’t care what color the collar is, little Molly is so darn cute! (You sound like me. Why buy one when you already have a perfectly good one?) Enjoy her. Also, the quilts are such a great gift for your grand daughters. They are beautiful. What a wonderful legacy.
Mel,
I don’t believe anything happens by chance. I know you are not particularly religious, but I know God is watching over you! I will continue to pray for all of my MBC sisters to find the peace that comes with knowing Him. Hope you have a WONDERFUL Christmas. Merry Christmas, my friend.
Merry Christmas to you all

50's Girl, those quilts! You have been busy! Who wouldn't love a handmade hug?
Candy, your bother in law is a lucky man. LUCKY! He is a Reality Virgin. He still lives in his bubble of bliss where bad things happen to other people and it happens to them because they are stupid and deserve it, unlike him, who is brilliant and is living the good life because of his own, great accomplishments. HA HA HA! People like him make me laugh and yes, fill me with a wee bit of evil glee because all of us, at some point, will be laid low by the reality that life is going to take us all out. Sooner or later, one way or another. And when I meet people like your BIL, people who can't walk in anyone else's shoes, I often say I hope I'm still alive when reality kicks the legs out from under you. In which case I will gloat. Smugly. Oh how the might have fallen! So get your gloat face ready, Candy. Gloating, while very undignified and inhumane, can be great gobs of fun!
Micmel, what a nice thing to have happen in your life!
Hugs to all!
Edit: I was going to correct the typing error, bother in law and then I thought, no. BOTHER in law is pretty accurate. So I left it.

Ladies you are all wonderful and I am lucky to have you all in my life right now.
Lynne- Molly is the perfect name for your puppy. So precious. And those quilts !!!!! Beautiful. I have a couple of quilts from my grandmother (passed when I was 12 years old). I wish I could quilt, but I do not have the patience for it.
Mae- Cute pic and very festive !!!!!
Well I called my sister today. I explained how I was really hurt by what her husband said on Saturday evening at the party. She said he was not directing his comments to me. That he was/is frustrated by some of the clientele that comes into his office and he was venting. That all the case workers get frustrated. He works with applications for Medicaid and other Government Programs. And I guess some of the adult clients come in wearing PJ bottoms, loud and boisterous, with several children in tow, and know how the system works and knows what to say during the application interview to qualify for the benefits. She did agree that it was bad timing that I was sitting there when he was venting. Someone here posted (I hate that I cannot turn back a page to see who wrote it) that they hoped that my sister gave him what for on the ride home from the party. She didn't tell me what she said to him, but I gathered that she did tell him that he shouldn't have said what he did. I don't think she made a big deal about it to him in the car, just mentioned the inappropriateness of the conversation to him.
I know my sister doesn't feel that way about my situation- the MBC. And she told me that I cannot change how others feel toward Disability. That I should not worry about pleasing others. That I know what I did was right for me--early retirement and SSD payments. And that others may not agree, but that is their problem. I did ask her to defend me if anything is ever mentioned at gatherings where she is attending. She said she would defend me and my situation. I know she loves me.
Ready for Christmas Day to be over though. I just do not like her husband all that much.

Candy~ I don't even know him and I don't think I like him very much. Most people just ask me about it. I'm very open. I usually say something to blast them back like, “I'm a walking time bomb". That shuts them all up and it quickly switches conversation faster than stubbing your toe pain!!!! Ouch!!!!
Waving to Runor and Lynne! Tomorrow is freaking Christmas Eve. Which is my DH's birthday. Poor guy . That day is NEVER about him ever. No matter how hard we try. Tough birthday to have.....

Again Candy, I really feel for you. I remember at a family gathering in October when that topic came up. It makes me pretty upset to think about it even now I just left the gathering without saying goodbye and went home. It's hard enough and I'm tired. Sometimes I really don't like people and don't want to leave my room. Reality virgin.....I like it.
I think I might actually use up a bottle of Tylenol before the expiration date. That will be a first. Yippee for me.

Candy - whatever that jackhole said, you stood up for yourself to your sister and explained how it wasn't right, and you should be proud of yourself for doing that rather than letting it fester. People always like to take the extremes to justify their position 'blah blah blah - oh but we didn't mean YOU of course, just all those freeloaders *handwave* ' when the freeloaders are an extreme minority hyped up in the media. I hope you are able to avoid him at the family gatherings in the next few days, and I hope your sister reminded him that it was her kin he was talking about.
Lynne - I have zero, zero patience for quilting, but my mom quilts like a fiend. Those are some very pretty quilts and I can imagine how long they must have taken to do! Simone - Lynne is right, starting small with hand sewing is the best approach to see if you like it, before moving on to machine sewing. I started a quilt in 2006 when I had to live at home for 8 months when changing jobs and... mom finally just finished it for me this year!
Mel - you need to go get some lottery tickets, quick!
Things ok here, just about to start some prep work and run laundry. I need to get moving today, the last two days were very static. Left side of pelvis is cranky even though I had no mets on that side and its only come on since Ive been on crutches. Onc did order an xray on that hip in October but I never found out what it said, and its been irritable because it has to take the bulk of my weight with the right side healing. Im in for bloods/injections/pills/onc on Thursday and will be bringing this up and ask about referral to an osteo - something or other. Oh, and PT starting ASAP.
Other Half has been snotty and yesterday he rolled over to ask me something and then accidentally sneezed in my face. Thanks hon. It was somewhat hilarious as it seemed so 19th century-style passing illness for innoculation purposes, but still DUDE. All that hand washing and anti-bacterial soap Ive got all over the house comes down to this? I made him start on the Vit C pills.
On the plus side the Packers beat the Vikings and the sales have started so I did a bit of shopping for some nice new tunics and dresses - easy to throw on over jeggings and with a scarf to look halfway pulled together at the doctors office!
Have a good day everyone!

I have a question that I’m sure has been asked and answered along the way somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it. I am trying to re-build my immune system. All of the various treatments I’ve tried have done a job on my body.
Is there a good supplement or anything that you have tried that works well to boost your immune system?
Thanks in advance for any info you all can share.

Hi booboo,
My NP prescribed Turkey tail. I rotate that every two weeks with a medical mushroom mix called ten mushroom formula. I also take a supplement that has broccoli seeds in it which is also good for the immune system.

Thank you, Simone. Are these available at GNC? Not sure where to purchase

Hi booboo,
You can order them off of amazon. Turkey tail, host defense is a good brand. For the broc seeds extract, I don't have a recommendation for a brand. I'm trying to find something cheaper then what I was previously taking. They're both kind of pricey for supplements but the Turkey tail is worth it.

ooooh I have some of the Host Defense turkey tail. My MO told DH and I not to take it because there is not any evidence. I hadn't been taking it becuase of fear of interaction with drugs but DH has been taking it and I think I will now start taking it with him. I totally forgot about it until now.
Hi Lily and thank you for your very kind words. I hope your holidays are as lovely as you are! And welcome to Mel's living room.

Love all the Christmas Trees you all shared. Thanks!
Spine mets have limited my usual Christmas decorating this season. Hope to make up for it next Christmas.
Waiting for rads to be scheduled, for Ibrance to be approved, and for PET scan results... but tomorrow it’s all about the meaning of the holiday and family.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, Happy Hanukkah to those who celebrate. And a joyful day for everyone else.
ps— I hung my stocking over Micmel’s fireplace. Hope Santa sees it there

To all the amazing women in Mel's living room. I don't post often but I do read and sit quietly in your pockets for all the stressful scans and icky doctors appointments. I wanted to wish you all the Merriest of Christmases full of love and light and laughter. May 2020 be a year where everyone's scans are NED and treatments work with minimal side effects. Mel your living room has been such a source of comfort and inspiration and laughter especially when Runour is trying to get rid of chin hair, I wanted to send you a huge thank you and cyber hugs to all.

Movingsoccermom~Loving your tree, it reminds me of mine. I love everyone's different styles. It's always awesome to see what others choose and color schemes. Thank you for the kitty kat peeking out. He's trying to hide and if you wouldn't have mentioned it, it may have looked fake. So funny all the prep for one day, then it's over in like an hour.... or even less!
Dodgers~My Back has been screaming at me as well. I've had to take a ton of breaks, and get slot of rest in between bursts of energy. Not really sure how it all got done but it did. I used to decorate inside, and outside to the nines.... but as they aged I slowed it down and the once I got sick. We are lucky the darn tree gets put up and decorated. I realize now, how much I really did and was capable of. Makes me so mad and sad at the same time. Still every ache and pain scares me.... try to relax and not worry about the decorations. I'm glad I don't have much to take down.
Giddy~You're so sweet, between your thoughtful idea of our Gracies tree.... to your kind words for our group here together.. it warms my heart that so many read. Makes doing it all worth it . Have a wonderful Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻
Waving to Simone and Mara!!!! And Moomala....sending love to Philly.....BevJen....Tanya....Grannax....Minnie....Mae....stillivin..
