Thanks for the good discussion and good advise.

I just do not feel safe getting out in my town. Too many that think the virus is not serious. Not many wearing masks or socially distancing. Like we are back to normal.

The eating outside with my friend would be an option, but with the weather it is not an option for me. Humid and hot here. High in the 90's with heat index around 100. I cannot handle the heat anymore. Never liked summer, but since cancer and meds I get overheated quickly and feel short of breath and faint. So indoors with AC is the only way for me.

Church is open again for indoor services. Reported to me that only a few wearing masks and lots of handshaking and hugging going on. They do live stream, so I watch from home.

KBL- I do have a pet, a cat. He is my roommate, I say. So that gives me comfort and companionship. But no walking the cat outdoors. LOL.

Mae- Thankful that you could eat what you listed. In my prayers, as always.

Mel- Yes, I can tell you are thrilled for your sewing machine. Glad for ya. But, no sewing for me. I don't have the skill or patience. I did horrid in home ec in high school and I hated craft time in Vacation Bible School.

Dodgers- Sounds like we are of the same mind. Thanks.

I did get out to get my hair cut the first of June. And scheduled next appt for the first of August. I go to doc appts. I go to Dollar store once a week-- when they first open for the day and I wear a mask. I get groceries at the local Walmart curbside pick up. I do leave my house. But not like others are doing. No restaurants or activities. No church services. And my friend, and most others, just do not seem to understand my views on the risk of COVID with my cancer and white counts. I am definitely in the minority in my circle of friends.

Thanks, Mel. I'm taking my seat!

I've been going out periodically to grocery & drug stores plus my appts. & taking my mom to hers or visiting my daughter. Finally got my hair cut and it felt so good! However, I've not been on an immunocomprising tx, but I will be shortly, and plan to curtail my shopping. I've been doing grocery Mystery Shopping for extra cash, too, but only accept jobs when I need to food shop.

Spoke to a friend in Calif. yesterday who is so wanting us to visit. With new tx, I told her I'm uncertain when esp since CA's virus numbers are rising; makes me very nervous.

BevJen, your menu sounds outstanding. My mouth is watering! We live in a tourist town and the tourists are back in droves, so we're staying in this holiday weekend since daughter's in Boston and not all are following the rules.

Happy 4th to all in the U.S. Stay safe.

I did go out with my brother and SIL. We stopped at McDonalds and got lunch through the drive thru. We drove to the park and ate it in the van. We did not walk as it was just too hot to do that. We went to a couple of stores they needed and then I went shopping at a store that gave me 20x the loyalty points for some groceries I needed. I spent 75 and earned almost 30.00 in points which is good. Should help with my budget. Still have not walked today but not going to bother now. Just going to eat some supper and watch whatever streaming movie I can find.

Forgot to say, Happy July 4th to US members.

Micmel, thank you so much for the welcome. I'm usually in the Ibrance thread or one of the other threads. I read this one all the time but hadn't commented until now.

Tanya, thank you. I hope you had a good Fourth of July.

Candy, I'm glad you have a cat. My husband is allergic, so we can't have them. I'm sorry it's too hot to be outside. I totally get it. Our heat index has been up over 100 as well.

candy~thank you. Another sisters tough decision so damn hard. May she be pain free. Gosh that’s hard. I hate you cancer.

Welcome back Bliss! And KBL it’s always nice to have support and sounding boards. That’s what we try to be.

Jaylea has been around since before I even signed up. That’s just devastating to know. Gonna be on my mind for sure. 😔😢

Hi everyone, we’re home from our friends. I stayed safely at a distance but it was nice to see them. I also enjoyed a beer, 1/3 hotdog, 1/3 hamburger and 1/2 cup of DH’s outstanding potato salad. Now I’m so full it’s uncomfortable, ugh. I dressed up as a picnic today, lol

Mae, you look lovely. Glad you got some good food, too bad about feeling uncomfortably full though. Would a digestive enzyme help the digestion any or is that related to the trouble with the vocal cord? The enzyme should get rid of the uncomfortable part of being full.

Mae- You look great!!! Cute outfit. Festive. Glad you got to go and you did eat quite a bit. Hugs.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon tearful over Jaylea's news. This is so tough. So many have passed in just the time I have been on BCO.

Today quiet day. Watching church service on Facebook. Nothing planned this afternoon.

Mae - congrats on your recent excellent scan results & your picnic outfit is totes adorable.

Today ends a 9 day break from medical appts. I have to go for bloodwork to see if I need my scheduled RBC transfusion on Tuesday. It's day 1 of 5 days of back to back appts.....back to cancer treatment reality.

The stressful one is on Monday - 8 week CT to see how liver and lung are doing. We need a nailbiting emoji. Results likely Wednesday

    Hugs everyone

    Moth,

Good luck with your scans and I hope your blood work was okay. Which of your drugs do they think is messing with the RBC count -- the tecentriq or the taxol?

    moth Member Posts: 3,293

BevJen - I'm so excited about my blood work. My Hgb went up since Jun 25! Was 99 now it's 104. MO transfuses me at 85 or below so no transfusion!

My low Hgb is believed to be cancer related, specifically the liver mets. I had it at dx and needed transfusions before I started treatment. MO thought the liver stopped making enough erythropoetin due to tumors. I'm hoping this is a good sign about my liver mets but also trying to not get my hopes up too much, kwim.

Moth, good luck on your scan.

Mae your outfit is very pretty on you.

I have been in and out today. This morning for some groceries and have walked short walks around the block since it is blazing hot. They are probably 10 mins each. Don't want to walk on the treadmill but wanted to get some movement. Not going out of my way to perform long walks in the heat, I already know I can do that so I don't need to prove it to myself now. Other than that, doing my surveys and watching TV. Still feeling pretty good.

Candy, thanks for cross-posting here about Jaylea. Thinking of her and family.

Moth, good luck on your scan. I like your idea of a nail-biting emoji! I have an echo & brain MRI next week; fingers crossed.

Mae, you do look so festive in that outfit; very becoming. Glad you were able to enjoy a bit of good food.

We're getting lots of rain and cool temps which is good to tamp down the fire danger. Watched fireworks on TV and ate Chicago dogs with corn on the cob. That was about the extent of our July 4th celebration. No live fireworks here. Hugs to all.

Mae you look fabulous. American pie 🥧.

Moth and Bliss in both of your pockets for upcoming tests and scans. Gonna have to use the Mae large pocket sweater.

we live on a culdesac so my youngest brother (22) asked if he could light fireworks in front of my house. So we allowed it. Really beautiful rockets and the neighbors all came out. It seems a friend of his has a store with fireworks so they had everything that didn’t sell out. I sat on the porch. He had about 15-20 friends with him in the street. They swept up afterwards. In bed by 11.

    Quiet Sunday here.

Mae~I’m seriously loving the summer vibe of your outfit, love even more you enjoyed what you’ve eaten. I am concerned for Texas and Florida They are in a steep Increase of cases and I don’t want any of my sisters contracting this crap! How is the pool, that’s exactly where I’d be today. I’d I didn’t have cancer. I’d be in that sun from 1145 to 400. I was a sun goddess. Tanned beautifully. Not any more I’d explode in the direct sunlight. Or melt. I could be in a pool in the shade. That would work. Enjoy your Sunday!

Maybe Tanya has the shade also?

Maggie~Hello Darling. 🌻🌻welcome to our living room. We chat, we yell , we support , we cuss , we walk together through this shitty deal we call cell robbers. It’s nice to know we have a stalker. Nothing wrong with that as long as you don’t have pop corn and a chair and are really outside of my house lol. Even though so many days I wish we could really be there in person for each other. Sounds so simple. But nothing ever is. Nothing worth doing well ever is. I’m learning that by sewing. My machine is testing my patience.

those of you that can sew Like wow. You go!! That shit is hard!!! So many freaking snips and steps and folds and irons. I’m going to fall asleep wrapped in thread. I’ve made three masks myself. You learn as you go. I’m having a real blast with this machine. My sweet DH just saying ok. Snap. There it is all set up for me. He’s such a good teacher also. I feel So happy creating . I don’t want to stop. I only stop Because of my back, those devils Mets. Hot as balls here today. Like Yuck ! No thanks. Fall temps please. Since summer is already wasted. You lucky ducky ladies with your pools. I’d be happy in a bucket of water at this point ! I love to wrap up in blankets.in winter. Or ac! I think I’m turning Alaska bound. Colorado? So sick of heat. Just want 65 everyday. Sometimes a little lower to break out our cool coats. And boots. Seems like we are stuck somewhere two times now. Stuck in cancer land. And stuckin covid land. Like come on? Can some women catch some breaks here!?? Geeze.

Mel, I don't have a sewing machine myself but I can certainly agree with the enjoyment it provides. I have a wee sewing kit from amazon and actually enjoy sewing up loose threads on clothing, or sewing my lint catchers for the portable washer back together or darning my socks. Helps a lot and I enjoy it. I am also definitely a beginner but it works for me.
