Moth - my parents use their machine to do everything but bake the loaf. So they have it mix, knead, rise, etc and just before its ready to bake they pop it into normal bread pans so it looks like normal bread. Although that sounds like a pain to do early in the morning!

moth- I love homemade bread. My mom used to make it. Not in a bread machine though. Sounds delicious.

Sondra - I've done that for pizza dough and dough for cinnamon buns etc. It's a good method, but yeah, not keen on it early in the morning lol!

I want to try the famous no knead overnight fridge bread recipe but maybe not at.the height of summer. I'm trying to minimize the big oven use.

It actually turned out mostly ok.

Just some weirdness in the center top crust but it is yummy so 🤷

nothing like Home made fresh hot bread with butter. Yumm yumm. Looks delicious to me. It was horrible here today as I am sure some of you experienced right along with us. My goodness severe flooding. It was crazy , the wind blew some shingles off and we have some drips coming in. So Dh is going to have the roof replaced. It always seems that when you spend money , something makes you spend more. Hes re-doing the dining room for an office space for him. And preparing a craft sewing area for me with all new office furniture, paint , blinds , lighting , desk bookcases. Two for his office and two for our living room. A new night stand for the living room and a new sofa. And a sewing desk for me. Then we have roof problems. Can’t catch a break at all. I hope everyone was safe and no flooding like here it was really bad My dispensary got flooded out. It’s closed until further notice.

I’m so sorry you had the horrible weather and roof issues from the storm. I hope you can get the roof fixed quickly. I’m glad you’re safe.I haven’t really looked at the news reports yet.

Mae, I am so sorry to hear this. Of course you are pissed and devastated. I am a full believer in karma as well. Something, sometime will get the people who stole it. Doesn't help you in the moment but I am hoping it bites them soon. I hope you get it back. That really stinks. Some people are just such POS. More kind people than not but that does not help when you are affected by bad people. I am angry to hear this for you.

Do you know anyone who could loan you something that would get you to the river. It would not fix the new travel trailer situation but at least give you the trip to the river you planned for. Again, people are asshats and totally ignorant who do stuff like that.

Mae- Wow. So sorry for you. You deserved the time on the river. As mara suggested, a loan, or a rental?

I am worried and depressed the last couple of days. My lab numbers are lower-- see Ibrance Thread. Did I do right in changing MO's? What is going on with my body the last few months with the low numbers? Am I looking at moving on from Ibrance? What if I catch Covid? I am being careful, but case numbers are going up every day here. Just 1 exposure could do it. I have been so tired lately, must have been from the numbers. I feel like I am putting out fires. And I am fighting a losing battle.

Oh Candy, I am so sorry you are having such a hard time right now. Don't blame you for doubting the switch and being nervous about covid. Low numbers will definitely increase the stress and fatigue load. I hope something comes up that may help address those numbers. Would this new MO be open to neulasta or neupogen to boost the ANC? Or would they suggest a different timing maybe for the ibrance so it does not make your numbers quite so low? That could at least address some of the worry about the low ANC. Don't know your other numbers re RBC and all that which may address part of the fatigue. Stress about covid as well as the bloodwork will definitely know your energy level down. I am so sorry again and wish I had something that I could say to help you with this.

oh Mae, that's horrid that someone would do that :( I'm sorry your travel plans have been all derailed. I hope somehow it can be salvaged.

candy, I hear you on the ANC. My fell to 0.9 and that is 13 days post Taxol and 7 days post ipatasertib/placebo & after giving myself 2 CSF injections each week post taxol! It's supposed to be recovered by now!

Darn bone marrow. I've always had problems keeping my counts up. Are you eating enough, and specifically enough good proteins? That did seem to help a bit. Low white blood counts don't cause fatigue. Are your red blood counts ok? Hemoglobin, hematocrit?
Are you sleeping ok? Lack of sleep could affect white blood counts too - our bodies need time for rest & recovery while they grow new cells.

As far as covid, I've been in self-isolation since March, only going to medical appointments & being super careful while there, or walking in my very quiet neighbourhood and staying far away from any people. That's about all we can do (& frankly, it's a lot. It's a huge change to be stuck at home for this long). I assume a) I'm always neutropenic and b) covid is everywhere so I act like a frightened wild animal all the time & scurry away from people.

moth- My RBC's are ok- low at 3.76, with low end normal at 3.93. Hgb at 10.9, with low normal at 11.2. I thought the low WBC's-- mine 1.6, low end of normal 4.0--- was the cause of my fatigue. I felt so tired this past Saturday I could not think. Like, have to lay down or collapse. Sleep is my usual--toss/turn/aches/pains.

You can read my updates on the Ibrance Thread.

    moth Member Posts: 3,293

So, white blood cells are all about immunity so unless you're ill and fighting something off, I don't think they'd be a cause of fatigue.

Low red blood cells cause fatigue because they carry oxygen to the tissues and if they're too low, all the tissue is oxygen starved and that is what leads to weakness and fatigue.

Poor you, I hope it all turns around quickly. I did read your updates on the other thread. I think MOs get very used to seeing low numbers so I guess if it falls within whatever their guidelines say they just push on w/ treatment. This is when we have to really trust our teams, I guess

Oh Mae, so angry for you. Makes me furious!

Mel, you are so kind making masks for everyone, they are great. I made some, but then got lazy.

Thinking of everyone, stay safe x

Mae I’m angry with you. I’m with everyone find a camper to borrow/rent. Tell the what happened and maybe they’ll do you guys a solid. There are kind folks out there too. I hope they get arrested and your property gets returned.

Candy I believe that ibrance effects are cumulative I’ve been on for as long as you. I take off days when I feel I need to. I just do. I did discuss with ONC and he doesn’t want me to take the 2 weeks in between mainly not familiar with that regimen. Drug companies studies and recommendations.

I take ibrance one week on and then one week off , still rough. But I manage. The stuff is fatigue land. But it’s working. Tough on blood work for some also. Hang in there.

Still angry for Mae. People are losers

I am sorry Ibrance is so tough on people. Fatigue and low blood counts by times definitely puts a dent in your lives. I hope it alleviates soon.

I actually stewed about Mae's situation last night for a while, thinking the same thing, that people can be so rotten. I truly hope they can borrow or rent something in the meantime for their trip and of course that their stolen property is recovered.

Myself, I am just keeping busy with mostly walking and surveys. I do a mix of outdoors and indoors. Use the outdoors for incline and indoors when I need to take it easy. Up to about 2 to 3 hours a day. Usually no more than 30 to 45 mins each at different parts of the day. Today is more of a rest so heavy duty walking will be on the flat treadmill. I find that for the amount of food I like to eat, mostly nutritious, I still am gaining some weight so need to keep this activity up. My latest concoction of food I tried as a snack involved a quarter cup of peanut butter, salt, wheat bran with taco seasoning. I put quarter cup of fiber one honey clusters and the fiber one bran sticks. Mixed it all together and ate with a spoon. Was heavenly delicious and obviously a good amount of protein AND fiber. Much better than protein bars I have tried. Trying to branch out from just the normal stuff I eat. Might look into dishes that include beans and peanut butter as well. The peanut butter on my burgers also are quite yummy. Love when the peanut butter gets melty.

Edited to add, I did make a small amount of white rice and beans with breakfast. Added some fiber one bran sticks for crunch and fiber, a handful of the wheat bran and taco seasoning mix and put in a large spoonful of peanut butter. Mixed it up well and put a little salt on top. It was just as good as I imagined and makes me happy to have additional tastes to enjoy. It is also quite a filling breakfast even though I only used 1/3 cup rice and beans each. I will keep that in my repertoire.

Mel, Your face masks are beautiful, and I would never guess that you were a new sewer. You do a wonderful job. If you would like me to, I can look through my fabric remnants and, if I find anything appropriate, I can send some to you to use for masks. Just tell me what the minimum size requirements are. Of course, you enjoy fabric shopping, and my feelings will not be hurt if you turn me down. If you get tired of making masks, you can try tote bags next. They are easy to make, and there are lots of free patterns and instructions online. I have been busy making quilts for Christmas presents for my grandchildren. I made them for two of my granddaughters last year, and they were a big hit, so this year I hope to make them for the others. I have two more done, one almost done, then three more to go. I hope my health and time-management skills hold up long enough to get them done. I do all my shopping online, so fabric shopping is more difficult and not as much fun as doing it onsite.

Mae, I got a big pain in my stomach when I read your post. I do hope you find some way to take that trip. Some people are so mean and thoughtless and self-serving.

Hello to everyone who remembers me from the way-back-when days as well as those of you who joined the thread after I faded away. I have had some bumps in the road but am doing okay right now. My dh and I are self-isolating, and I haven’t set foot in a store since February. Our big trips out are for my weekly blood tests, MO appt, and chemo. Luckily it’s just one trip. Mondaywas my MO’s practice’s first day in a new facility. The pharmacy didn’t have one of the medications for my infusion and had to get it from another town, so my three hour visit ended up taking six hours. That’s what happens when you are an opening day guinea pig. Oh well! I am scheduled to have scans on August 17. Hopefully, the current treatment is still working.

Well, I have written a book. I hope those in pain find relief, those with scans receive good news, those in new treatments see a good response, those who are feeling overpowered by worry, depression, anxiety, loneliness or boredom find the comfort and answers they need and deserve. These are hard times for all of us, and we do understand. You are all amazing people, and I enjoy reading the snippets about your lives.

Hugs and prayers to all from, Lynne

50’s, you never faded away to those of us that know you here and I’m pleased to hear you’re doing well.

Thank you everyone who’s angry with me, kinda makes me want to start a lady gang to get some revenge, lol

The trip is on. DH tried to say screw it but I refused, so we’re renting a trailer for now and looking to buy a new one. DH thinks we might get one today but I won’t settle for whatever is priced to move, it needs to be similar to what we had. We’re going to the storage yard today to look around and I want to talk to neighboring businesses to see if they’ve got cameras.

For now I’m trying to figure out how much more items we need to take since our trailer was pretty well stocked with linens, dishes, etc.

I’m trying to stay calm because I doubt the stress is good for me but I’m still sooooo angry.

Mae, very glad to hear the trip is still on but can empathize with the anger you are feeling. I would also join you in that lady gang. Hopefully getting all the stuff you were missing inside will help manage some of the stress. This is where a person could use a punching bag to get rid of some of that anger. I still hope they find it and charge the person.

Lynne~i would be honored to receive your fabric. I am touched you would offer. Half of a yard works great. Ot anything up to a yard of course. Thank you for thinking of me that way. I appreciate it. Thank you for the compliment about sewing. I’ve been trying to learn And yes tote bags or pillows. Will be my next feet. I hope I succeed. Let me know what you think about the fabric, I’m an addict lol

Waving hello to Mara. Got all my packages ready for the post office. Hoping to get there in the morning. So many to choose from.

    Mae,

Count me in on the lady gang. I bet kickin’ some ass would feel pretty good right about now. Seriously though, I join the rest when I say I’m so very sorry this happened. I am glad to hear that you will not allow that awful person (people?) to ruin your trip. I hope to hear when you return that it was the best one yet!

50s - I was just thinking of you the other day, and if your current line of treatment was working. Im happy to see that you are a busy bee, even if its at home, this summer. Best wishes for your scans!

Mae - I didn't even think about 'stuff' in the trailer! But good for you for not just taking anything off the lot and good for you for still going to the river!

Mel - how did you get away with a week on a week off? You just do that indefinitely? So far I think only Karenfitzbo has the 3/2 (or perhaps one other person) which seems shocking considering the NHS is so by the book over here. You would think more MOs would be open to creative scheduling - so long as the Ibrance gets in, what difference does it make how often?

Here the temps are warming up and its going to be in the low 90s (!!) for the next four or five days. No air conditioning, but the giant summer floor fan is going and this place tends to cool down well in the evenings. Cats are laying flat all over in random places to cool off. I sent OH out to pick up stuff to grill tonight as its going to be too hot to bother the next few days, although a pasta salad sounds like an awesome idea.

Big news in our house is that he was offered a new job yesterday at my place of work, and they are now negotiating on salary. While my employer can be a really frustrating place, this is on a team that is growing under a director I know well and they are good people. Also - job security given the sector - no chance of layoffs. He is still furloughed at his current role and no news on return date so really, why wait to get caught with your pants down? I was just reviewing resumes today for a role we are hiring for and it made me so sad - lots of experience, lots of folks from big companies in the news for layoffs, too many folks 45+. I've been in their shoes - it made me thankful for what we have, even if it isn't perfect.

Still biking away like mad going nowhere in the living room. Just love it, but I have to take off every third day to give body a chance to rest. I added some light core work today during my stretching too.

    Take care all!

Mae~I’m glad the trip Is on Also! I’m mad right along with you. People are unreal. Seriously. Keep to your own shit and mind your business. I don’t understand why people think they can just do whatever they want. Our culture needs an overhaul. We’ve lost respect for each other’s hard work and accomplishments. Damn. You guys worked hard for that trailer. It’s just not fair. But Kharma is a real thing I think I’m a victim of it. Go and have a blast. I’m still so sorry for all the shit lost. Grrrrrrrr

Sondra~He just told me to take it that way to help with my everlasting fatigue. And yes indefinitely. I've been on it for 47 cycles. The one week on and off , about 8 months. I prefer that better. Seems to work for me. The side effects get a break just in time for them to be over powering. At least for me. I've noticed.

Mae, enjoy that trip. I'm glad you are still having your holiday. A girl gang sounds great. I'm sure we could be pretty scary 😂

50s, great to hear you are doing ok. I do think of you
