Hello all
Glad you’re going Mae. And this girl gang will be something to contend with. Nothing to lose is hard to fight.
50s girl happy to see you. What’s the title of your book? Is it on amazon yet? Released? Congratulations
Ibrance is very new in cancer world so doctors are erring on the side of caution. Since reading the ibrance thread I saw many women use doctors advices and many do their own thing. QOL is the caveat that I need to discuss with my Dr. these last few months I’ve taken an extra week after two weeeks or extra days. Dr won’t give me his blessings on it. His mantra is it’s working so don’t mess with it.

Aaaww Mae WTF... but delighted you’ve sorted a temp trailer replacement ... honestly that B will get their comeuppance!
Candy you sound so down...have you got someone to properly talk to?
Tania and Sondra...I’m a bit flabbergasted that more MOs don’t consider being flexible with Ibrance scheduling. My team are pretty adamant that SE’s aren’t cumulative on this combo though and I have to say I agree. I don’t feel any different than I did when I started albeit there are plenty of SE’s!

DH and I visited several businesses on the street where the storage yard is, a few had non operating cameras and a few said they’d check their footage and call us back. After that, we went to 3 RV centers, saw some nice ones but not “the one”, we really like the 2021 version of what we had, which has many benefits in the redesign. We’re reaching out and looking casually, DH would have bought today though, if anyone had the model we want. He says it’s all for me but I’m the one reigning him in, men, lol

Thanks Karenfizedbo for caring. I am a little down lately. I have been dealing with low counts since May, disagreement with MO, decision to change MO, and even lower counts this month. Just questioning if I did the right thing by changing MO's-- maybe the old one was doing the right thing with the Ibrance, and the new MO is saying to just take med and repeat lab in 2 weeks. I swallow the pill and worry the numbers are going down further. Lots of Covid in my area. Isolation due to the Covid. I am trying to stay busy-- walked on treadmill today, talked with a friend on the phone, read a book, and keep up with everyone here. No, I do not have anyone to really confide my fears to. It is the way it is. Thanks for caring.

That sounds awesome Mel. Looking forward to the mask as well.
Sondra, good news for your husband as well, glad to hear it.
Quiet day for me, surveys, only walked half an hour today and had a nice long nap this afternoon. Older DB and SIL came and dropped off some chocolate, very sweet of them to do and that was about it. Enjoyed my day though. Can be busier tomorrow if I wish to.

Candy, I hope it will make you feel a little better to know that my onc told me that they actually don’t see that many infections with Ibrance despite the low neutrophils.

Mae - count on me for the lady gang. Since I'm in the same city, I'll be happy to come out and terrorize whoever needs remonstrating. With mask & gloves of course. Were you going to the Frio? Or to San Marcos? Hope your trip comes off.

it’s a shame I can’t silence the sewing machine I’d be sewing right now Instead of insomnia. At least I’d be productive and not on Amazon looking at sewing items and fabrics. The fabric store is near the post office and I’m afraid. I always say. It’s the oNly thing I really do for myself. My desk shipped So I’ll be having a lovely antique white desk soon for crafting. DH is amazing. I adore him so much. Let me see if I cand find a pic ! I’m so excited. My own crafting area. Can’t wait. I’ll be getting organizers. And a matching chair. We are getting them little by little. So excited. So pretty.

micmel, nice looking desk
minus, we’re heading to the Blanco River this time. We went a couple years ago a liked how quiet and relaxed it is there. Not looking for crowds or parties.

RV update, DH contacted the guy we bought our last trailer from and it turns out he can order the exact model we want AND will sell it to us for about 10k below MSRP and 5k below my max budget. Yay! Looks like we’re buying a new trailer when we return from this trip.

Mae,
I hope you have a very nice time away. And when you get back, I hope the authorities have a suspect in custody!
Candy, I’ve been through a few bouts of depression lately too; even thought I might need to change meds. But I promise you, “this, too, shall pass.” My Mom used to say that, and she was most often right. But please know that we all care tremendously about you. So please keep reaching out.
Mel, great desk. I think we must have very similar tastes!
Well, today I had my first treatment of Gemzar. So far, so good. I had to do the pre-meds (with steroids), and I’m trying not to eat everything in sight! I already weigh more than I should, so this is going to be a battle to not gain too much more! But overall, I feel pretty good. Hoping the next several weeks go as smoothly.
Waving hi to all of the rest! Hoping you all have a nice weekend.

Yay Mae, you get a trip and a new trailer! Happy it's working out but still, I'm sure you could have done without the stress.

Thanks Booboo. I just posted a response to a post on the Ibrance Thread. I reread it and I sound awful. I wondered if I should delete it. I do feel depressed. I messaged my new MO's nurse this morning that I am concerned about my counts and continuing the med even with those counts. I am wondering if I made a mistake changing MO's. The old one freaked out about my counts, but this one seems blase (how do you type the mark over the e?). I just envy those that can feel good with Stage 4 and even forget it (Chicagoan's post).

Hello Ladies~Candy. I’m giving you a hug. Take a deep cleansing breath. I know it’s overwhelming day to day. I wish we were neighbors, I’d talk your ear off. Honestly, hugging you...
Mae~you go girl. See, bad deal turns into a new camper owner. Hope those bastards have stormy weather whenever they use it forever. Better yet agree with BooBoo apprehend someone...
Rosie, Mara,BooBoo, I mailed your packages today. I was amazed that I had to fill out a customs form to mail it to Mara. They aren’t kidding around. They want to know. What it is, how many. Worth? Who I was. I was like wow. Imagine if I was mailing something of great worth. Phew. Lots of questions But it is out of country. I should have expected it. But off they went. So we are good! I hope you guys get them soon. I have the tracking information. Maybe like Tues or Wednesday...

'lo all!
Mae - is it the 2021 version of the one you had? How awesome! Silver linings and all that - and you can use the spare money for the internal furnishings too.
Candy, I mean this in the best possible way, but it sounds like you have too much time on your hands + your numbers going wanko the last few months = a lot of ruminating. I know Covid is a major concern for you, especially in your area, but would it be possible to get in the car and drive somewhere scenic nearby like 20 or 30 minutes, maybe with a picnic you packed yourself, and either eat outside or, if others around or not comfortable, in the car? Just to do and see something different, break up the days? A few years ago when I was feeling down I would go off and sit under a tree for a while in a large park. Sometimes being closer to nature when you cant be (or don't want to be) close to people can be mentally healing as well.
Mel - If you get into quilting you can hand sew blocks when you don't want to run the machine. That's what my mom does every time dad is in the hospital for whatever reason. Something to keep her hands and mind busy but portable that she can do either when visiting him or in front of the tv at home without firing up the sewing machine.
Boo - best of luck with your new treatment.
Nothing new here, monthly fatigue day showed up so spent most of the day in bed sleeping/reading under the fan with the cats. Unfortunately when I am that tired I get restless, which then makes me want to eat. Ah well, tomorrow is another day. The lap pools nearby are open now, but only if you prebook. Need to figure out how to do that so I can finally get back in the pool before the end of summer.

Mae, so happy you’ll be able to get the same camper when you get back.
Candy, please don’t delete your other post. You should be able to write how you’re feeling. Have you ever gotten sick at a time when your counts were low? If not, then I would continue on. I have stayed on when my counts were too low if my doc has been okay with it. Virtual hugs.
Mel, you are so sweet to be sending the masks to those who would like them. I don’t need any at this time, but I will definitely ask if I do. You have such a big heart.

Mel,
I can’t wait to get them. I’ll wear them proudly and brag about my awesome friend who made them!!
Candy, I meant to also say that you did not make any mistakes with your choices. You were exploring your options, which you have every right to do. I am on my third MO since moving here last April, and I will not apologize for that. I ended up with the BEST doctor I could ever have asked for. So if you decide you want to go back to your old MO, make an appointment and do it. No apologies. You are trying to get the best care you can find, and MOs are used to 2nd opinions. All the best to you, my dear!

Mel, thank you so much. Would not have thought mail would have been an issue. I really appreciate your kindness.

no worries sweetheart! Just filled out the form. Not a problem. I hope you like your masks. ♥️🥰

Sondra~thanks for the advice, I’m a newbie and can use all the advice I can get.

Great news Mae. Enjoy your break!
Candy, sending hugs. It's hard when depression creeps up on you, and it is hard to shake it off, so an extra strong socially distanced hug from me xx
Like the desk Mel

Mel, Thanks so much for making and sending the masks. I'm excited to get them!
Mae, Have a great getaway to the river. I'm so glad you found a way to make it still happen. Enjoy the peace and quiet and hopefully some good weather.
Moomala, thinking of you. 🌺
Sondra, I hope you can get into your nearby lap pool. I love water exercise but I don't really swim. It feels so good to be in the water and it's easy on my back. My class has been off since March though, so it's just a memory.
Candy, I'm sorry you're feeling so down. You have a lot of physical and mental stress, all of it understandable. I hope your MO gets back to you soon, as to me that issue with your low anc should be able to be resolved if you could have a conversation with her.
Lynne50s, Nice to see you here!
Hello to all reading here. 🌅

Candy, I’m sorry to hear you’re having a hard time but I am confident that better days are coming.
Yes the new travel trailer is the new version of what we had. Our old layout is on top, no slide out or pantry but we gained a sofa/Murphy bed, bathroom sink and a small outside fridge plus a big window in the dinette.

Mae, that looks a lot like the one we just bought this year. I have yet to stay in it, but we are planning a trip in October/November. It’s awesome.

KBL, cool! We want pics of your first trip. I love the “couples campers”, just the right size for us and easier/cheaper to tow.

That camper looks great Mae.

Mae the camper is beautiful.

Mae, sure thing. We had a bigger one years ago and sold it. No need for a big one with just the two of us.

Mae- That camper looks great. Hope you have many fun times on the river.
Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone. Sondra- It is hot here--- 90's with heat index near 100. I cannot tolerate the heat. I would rather stay inside my cool home with my cat than sit in my truck with the AC running eating in a park. I do understand that a change in scenery would be good. Maybe in the fall or winter. I guess I look at the summer months like most feel about winter---for me summer is for staying inside and fall/winter one can go out and enjoy more (the weather is better for me).
This evening I am doing a game night on Zoom with a couple of other people. Something different. And in the safety/coolness of my own home LOL.
I did message my new MO's nurse yesterday (Friday) reiterating my concerns about taking the Ibrance with the low numbers. No change in orders--- take and do lab at 2 week mark. But, at least, I verbalized my concerns. I am not going to switch back to old MO. Just need to get this low ANC thing figured out. Just weird to switch MO's during a bump in the road. Probably would have been smoother to switch during a calm time--- but then why would I need to make the change if things are going ok. Haha.
