Hello to all. I've been away a few days and so much has happened here. I've enjoyed catching up with everyone's posts, and I'll address just a few, but know I'm thinking of you all with ups and downs.
Rosie, belated Happy Birthday to you. Cheers to 61 and another year!
Mae, I am so so angry for you, but glad things are looking up with the new travel trailer and your trip is on. People can be so despicable. Any word from police? I sure hope the thieves are caught and your property recovered.
Candy, your Zoom game night sounds great, so you enjoy it to the fullest. Keep reaching out here for the talk support you need. And keep on the new MO to address your concerns. Big hugs!
Karen, good for you walking 6 miles! I could never do that now, but glad you're able and DVT is resolving.
50sgirl, so nice to see you pop in here! Fingers crossed for upcoming scans.
Booboo, hope Gemzar treats you well.
Mel, I think you've found a calling. Happy you get so much enjoyment making your lovely masks. I'd take 2 or 3 if you can spare them. I'll PM my address.
Happy weekend to all.

Candy, the heat is heading my way again as well. I am glad that you are able to cool off inside and zooming sounds like a fun prospect to do. Have fun.
I have walked twice today so far. Bored out of my mind so will probably walk some more. Decided to challenge myself and walk in a mask, partly to be able to mouth the words to the songs I was listening too. Other than walking, unsure if I am doing anything else. Thought perhaps brother would have texted but they are picking up a new van so they are likely busy. That's OK, I will figure my own day out. I am fairly acclimated to the heat, yes, I sweat like a pig but I did that this morning when it was cool outside.
Hope others have a decent weekend.

mara- Did you ever get your scan results? 3 weeks ago?

I have not got them yet, by Wednesday the 12th. Since it has been this long, I am fairly confident I am still NED. They would never go this long and then say oh by the way, you have progressed. The longer it goes, the more confident I feel. Scanxiety has not been a real issue for me. Not that I don't care, but if I worry about it, it will turn my mind into a hamster wheel of what ifs. I feel good, energetic, appetite too good so I cannot imagine there is something in there. I will let everyone know once I have those results though for sure.

hello ladies!! Bliss you got it. ! Hope everyone is doing well today. My Dh has to get his son back to college this week so I'm all alone I don't like that at all. I mis him already. I'm glad it's only a few days. He is the sweetest thing. I enjoy his company and his humor and I miss him when he's not here. So the next few days will suck. It's already hard enough that my days run into one another. My Dh is the one who brings me out of it !!!!

Mel, we will all help you out of it while DH is away. We got you, the masks help occupy time as well. I do empathize, the days do blend with each other a lot. It has been a year and a half since my mom died, where did the time go? On Monday it is the start of a whole week and then boom it is Friday again. Crazy.
When I am aimless and not really wanting to do much, I put music on in the background, usually 70's to 90's stuff. Just fills the apartment with some noise.
Today I have completed one of my walks, went for about an hour, climbed the steep inclined pavement section in my local park. Was still an effort but did deep breathing all the way through, took no time to be back to normal. Even went to the grocery store on the way home and scored some rubbing alcohol, the 99 per cent stuff at that. Will keep picking it up as i see I think. I like mixing it with vinegar to clean the counters and sink in the kitchen. I also picked up baking soda as well, want to bake it to turn it into washing soda and add it to my laundry stuff to boost the cleaning power. That is my very exciting day so far. Looks like it was good to get home when I did, sky has turned dark. Threatening rain which is no surprise, it was extremely humid out.

Thank you Mara honey. I hope your masks arrive soon They were mailed Friday. I am sewing. Slowly. Taking breaks as I need. My daughter wants to go to home goods. That’s never good. Lol. But if we mask up and I have my wipes. We should be ok I need some new decorations since we got new furniture and I have a ton of shelves to fit.

Micmel, I keep watching your newfound sewing affection. Any possibility you might want to consider learning how to quilt? I had always wanted to and finally took a few classes in my fifties and now love it..Lots and lots of good online instruction. I’d be happy to point you to sources if you are interested when the mask necessity ends.

Mel, thank you again for the masks. I will be modeling them and attempting selfies here. I want you to see how they look. I still so appreciate the kindness you have shown me. I love your set up and storage as well. Makes me inspired to save money in the future to have someone build storage like that for me, obviously smaller for a tiny apartment but that would be great to have. I am glad you are enjoying the new space.
I will say, I was fortunate to get out when I did this morning. Weather turned very dark and we have been having thunderstorms. Any further walking will be indoors for sure. Going to soon try turning the baking soda into washing soda, smaller amount since I do not have a large baking pan. Should not take too long according to instructions. If it works, it will make a nice booster to my already awesome detergent set up.

Melissa~I am interested in anything sewing. I am addicted to making things. I have been hearing some ladies at the fabric store talk about quilting and I think they have classes as well. I welcome all of any information. welcome to our living room!
Mara~You're very welcome my dear. I hope you enjoy the selections that I made for you. I have so many kinds of fabrics that I chose. It's hard to decide.
Bliss~I have put some aside in a mailer for you, just waiting for your address.

So nice you got away Mae, looks like a peaceful and relaxing place to be. Glad you got away.
The sun came back out here so I did go for a walk. Super humid but still a good walk. I finished making my laundry washing soda out of baking soda. Was pretty easy to do. Helps because no matter which store I go to does not have it and not cost effective anyway.

Mae looks like you’ve found a serene getaway.
Mara I was able to swim earlier. It was cloudy but I got in anyway. After I swam the sun came out for about 15 minutes and I was able to soak in some rays. My daughter stopped by so we had a social distance visit. It’s been thundering and raining here for the rest of the afternoon.
I roasted some butternut squash and made some sauce with ground turkey spinach etc. I want to use my pumpkin pie recipe and substitute the squash-tomorrow. On the porch now with kitty waiting for sunset

Wow, am I sweaty. I did an extra long walk. Usually only go about a half hour at a time but I did not want to walk outdoors later in the day. Supposed to feel over 100 and very humid. I decided to do a long loop around two different streets 3 times on top of the 15 mins it takes to get to the first street. Some guys were sitting on their porch and watched me loop all three times and cheered me on which was nice. I am soaked in sweat but feeling good and there is no further walking happening, at least not outdoor walking. Staying in the house til DB comes to take me out for coffee after supper.

Micmel— jumping in here reference a suggestion to learn quilting— I had a dream last night that you did learn to make quilts and turned that into a successful small business making quilts out of t-shirts for BC folks. People would send you t-shirts like you buy while on vacation or celebrating a favorite sports team or t-shirts about one’s pet dogs or cats, etc. you took those and made quilts that BC folks could wrap up in, remembering these events. I woke up early from the dream because “I had to gather my t-shirts”.
Ha ha ha.

Isn't it wild when dreams are that realistic!

Dodger’s Girl: a sweet idea, but no, no, no. Don’t even think about trying to learn quilting with teeshirt quilts! Almost every experienced quilter I know has bemoaned that they ever attempted one. They are hard and a royal PIA. Trying to learn on stretchy fabric that also has to have stabilizer ironed to the entire back surface of every piece is a nightmare. My Dad died in May and had LOTS of “stuff.” A friend has been a huge help, coming in over a couple of months and buying most of it in lots. My sister told him I quilt and he called to see if I could make him one. I told him I’d have to find someone for him because I couldn’t. I did get him a referral.

MelissaDallas—. At least in my dream last night, the quilts weren’t so difficult! But really glad you posted this “real world” issue when trying to use stretchy material. Certainly would not want anyone to add such stress to their lives.
Really glad you posted.

Dodgers~I dream crazy shit all of the time. My father passed in 2019 and the idea of his T-shirt’s becoming a quilt was already in the works. My aunt made one for my step mother of his shirts. She did it. I don’t know how but she did. Dreams are funny. Thanks for sharing your dream with me. I’ve been tinkering with reading about quilting, so that’s kinda funny. Lol
I am going through masks like mad, I have an inventory, but I keep having to replenish it, my daughter gets asked daily at work where she gets hers masks. ( wears a new one everyday) it makes me feel good when I know people get use of them. This is my inventory!!!

Melissa~thanks for the advice. Can’t start the wrong way lol. I could hurt myself. I’m sure of it.

Micmel, my experience has not been hurt. More like a lotta cussing and crying. I took classes from a wonderful teacher, but she really challenged us. In hindsight, I learned so much. Between classes whiledoing my “homework” I often kind of despaired:)
