DH and I are isolation champions this year. We decided to go boondocking at the beach 🏝

    Happy holidays to everyone!

Nice scenery there and sunshine as well. Looks really nice.

We have had a dump of snow and still snowing, looks pretty outside. Going to DB for Christmas dinner. Not doing anything else today.

Merry Christmas all, all the best to you.

illimae, I love it! I hope you have a wonderful time!

My husband got a new telescope. We were up at 3:00 AM this morning looking at the skies. It was clear and dry. We got a great shot of the Orion Nebula and the Cigar Nebula (otherwise known as M82). I'm not usually the person who gets up at 3:00 AM to "look at the sky", but this was totally worth it!

Sunshine, very cool! DH needs to set ours up after we complete the cabin interior, can’t wait to see all the awesomeness too!

    Good afternoon ladies,

Mae your boondocking is amazing!! Happy for you that you've maneuvered this isolation to fit your travels.

sunshine99 I love the telescope pics. We used to belong to a viewers club in NY but don't do it at all anymore. Thanks for sharing.

It's cold here (45), but I may get my new walking shoes courtesy of Mae's footwear recommendation and go for a walk.

    Hello all,

    Kittykat- How ya doing?

Mel- You ok? And your DS making it ok?

I am glad Christmas is over. Yes, I am a Christian, and as such happy for the birth of my Savior. But, I am not a Holiday person. Even before Covid and isolation. So happy it is over for another year.

Today I am doing laundry and finished reading a good book. I have been getting in the end-of-year mindset and reviewing some home files and shredding some stuff--- year end cleaning, I guess. Organizing.

I do wish Covid was controlled. With my "stable" scans last week, I wish I could get out and have some projects to do, until the fear of the next scans sidelines me again. As Boo said, the devil we know... But... I sit in my house all day, every day, trying to think of something to do. And the mild nausea and the fatigue continues.

Hope all are ok and will come back to visit in Mel's Living Room again soon.

Merry Christmas everyone, just dropping by to check in. After four days of nonstop cooking and baking I'm officially worn out! I don't know what I was thinking but everything has turned out amazing and yet in manageable quantities so my fridge isnt overflowing and there won't be too much waste. I have had a few mimosas and a few gin and tonics (light alcohol on both at least) over the last few days, which is probably the most alcohol I have drunk on-cycle in a year. I figure so long as I keep flushing that water through the rest of the day then it won't be too horrible. I also made a ham, but a proper one - organic and free range, no smoking, no curing, no colorants, no nitrates/nitrites.

We group video chatted with my parents and my two siblings in three different time zones and that was nice. My brother lost over 40 lbs in his cancer journey in April/May, he is back to the same (under)weight he was in college, and his jeans looked like Hammer pants! Partner and I gave each other a few very small gifts, and had more fun watching the cats enjoy their new scratching post and hi-test catnip. Spending time together playing games and eating cookies has been worth more than more stuff.

Ready for the year to be over and to see what January holds for once - hopefully the vaccines will start to pick up and critical mass will be reached by summer. I'd like to go home.

Mae - your new trailer looks fab!

Sunshine - we were disappointed for cloud cover that we couldn't see the saturn/jupiter pairing, but those are some great pictures!

Candy - that is my project too for tomorrow and probably early next week too. Although its rather satisfying to do.

Im off for a walk to get some air before this big storm rolls in tomorrow - have a good one everyone!

Mel, hope DS is holding up with the covid and that you and DH are safe.

Had a nice Christmas with DB, SIL and nephews. I got more grocery store gift cards which made me happy. Lots of cookies and chocolate. I am treating today as a cheat day. Napping on the couch, watching youtube and laundry. Having big spoonfuls of peanut butter as well.

    Tanya, enjoy your walks.

Well I'm still in the ED, I've been stuck 4 times already trying to get an iv line going, no luck so far, I think they have sent for reinforcements.

well they finally got the iv in and have started me on antibiotics, it looks like I will be here for a few days. I hope they get on top of this soon so I can restart the everolimus. Thanks for the good wishes Mara, KBL and Candy.

Glad they got the IV. Is this the same infection? It never cleared? I hope they can get it under control soon. Sorry you’re stuck back in the hospital.

Mel, I hope you’re doing okay.

Mae, don’t remember if I let you know I love the RV and pictures.

Hi, everybody else. Thinking of you all.

Kittykat- Keep us updated. I will keep praying for you. Kidney infection? Still short of breath? Gentle hug from here.

Kitty, Sorry you’re in the ED. I hope they get you feeling better soon. Was it shortness of breath that brought you there? I might have missed that.

    Mel, How’s your DS doing?

Quiet Christmas at my house, went for a late night walk with DH on Christmas Eve to enjoy the new snow and the neighborhood Christmas lights. Family visits by phone with just my brother here for dinner.

Tomorrow I have an mri to check on my liver mets. My recent CTs have not picked up much and MO wants a better look.

Hello to everyone here. I hope you’re staying warm if you live in a cold area. My SIL in Florida said it was “only 60” on Christmas. We knew what she meant.

    Kittykat,

So very sorry about being in the hospital. Man, that sucks big time. Please get better soon. Let us know how things go. We care!

Mel, I'm also thinking about you and hoping your DS has a mild version of COVID and recovers quickly.

I'm heading back to FL tomorrow. Going home a week early. My DH has had enough of being alone, and I've been at my sister's for 3 weeks. Have had a wonderful break. We'll see how things go with DH and whether he is willing to get help (alcohol addiction).

    Thinking of all of you.

    Micmel, how’s DS doing?

Kittykat, hoping for a quick recovery.

Booboo, glad you enjoyed the break and hope DH gets a handle on his drinking.

I’m just relaxing today with some occasional cleaning and packing. Here’s the interior of the RV, it’s great for a couple w/o kids. Working on storage solutions now, so it’s prepared for longer trips.

Rosie- Pocket duty for your MRI. When will you know results? MO appt? I had my first MRI of liver in October. It evidently shows more than CT's. My CT's showed 1 liver met, MRI showed 4. We will do MRI's from now on to follow the 4 mets.

Booboo- Thinking of you as you go back home. I am not married, never have been, so I cannot advise on that. But, I want you to be in a good place mentally to manage your cancer. Don't stay if you are going to get down yourself. I just care. PM me anytime.

Kittykat, hope you start feeling better quickly! Those IV antibiotics are very fast acting so fingers crossed.

illimae, how fun to get away like that. Your trailer is wonderful.

Rosie - ugh, ick about having to have an MRI tomorrow. reporting for pocket duty.

booboo - hope your trip home goes well and you both find a calm and peaceful way forward

I'm all good though the lung met cough is getting worse and the RO warned me it would continue to get worse to about 10-14 days after finishing rads ... eeek. We've been watching movies (hallmark & otherwise) and had a good game of Settlers of Catan as well. Finally got our lovely rain to wash away the icy snow remnants so I'm back to enjoying daily walks with Olive. During the black ice/snow I still did the walks but did not enjoy them. I spent the whole time swearing and muttering "don't fall, don't fall" lol

Candy, I’m not sure when I’ll get my mri results. My next MO appt is Jan. 18 but I’ll call and ask if it doesn’t show up on the portal. I’m hoping there’s not a really big difference from last ct but I know the mri sees more than ct.

Booboo, Wishing you the best for your return to FL and your husband. You seem very calm and ready to go back. I’m glad you enjoyed being at your sister’s and could relax and recharge.

Mae, your RV is very nice! I can see why you and DH enjoy traveling in it.

Kitty I hope you’re feeling better and getting out of ED soon

Mel I hope you and your family are doing well

Moth take it easy with your cough-hope it settles soon

Mara I did walk today it was about 70

Candy I mopped the living room and kitchen. I hate hair cat and human. I shredded some papers too. Definitely gonna take inventory and purge

Booboo safe travels. Try to get a support group for yourself. Alcoholism is rough. Hope to see you in 2021

    Take care all

Tanya, great job on the walking. I would love to have 70 degree weather. Perfect temps for a walk.

    Mae, trailer is really nice.

I did not do too much today, got a couple of deliveries from Amazon, cat litter (exciting) and some usb charging cables as my old ones were wearing out and I do not trust charging stuff with the cheap dollar store ones. Beyond that, watched the movie Soul on Disney +, also watched WW84 which was OK. Pedaled my elliptical as well and of course did laundry.

Booboo, I hope everything goes well for your return home.

Mae, I love your rv, I hope you and your dh have some wonderful trips together.

Moth, I hope your cough clears up for you soon.

Has anyone heard how Mel and her son are.

I'm still in the hospital, I've been moved to a ward finally, I have my own room and bathroom which is a bonus. I've been getting iv antibiotics and clexane blood thinners in case there is a blood clot in my lung causing the shortness of breath

I'm not fond of cat hair either Tanya.

Well its 6.48 pm on the 28th down here, they've just brought me a coffee so I'm going to say bye for now and thanks for all your well wishes xxx

Well we are under lockdown except essentials which I think they should have done before our case counts started the uptick. Hoping the health care and long term care people get vaccinated quickly. Although I will miss getting stuff at the mall occasionally, not worth the risk for me. I belong to a dollarama group on facebook and they are deemed essential even though people are coming out with large hauls of craft stuff. I like to get my purina cat food there and popcorn. I am sitting on my hands not to tell them how thoughtless non essential shopping is. None of my business and the store is making sure only a few people at once are there.

I do have to get some chocolate milk and I may walk up to Harvey's to get some takeout burgers. The weather is cloudy but not bad today. Other than laundry and chores, not much going on here.

OK, probably some of you have heard of this but I was not aware until I looked it up. I love beans but sometimes wanted them to be crunchier. Looked it up and turned out I could simply place on a baking pan. I cooked them at 400 for 10 to 15 minutes and they became crunchy and not burnt. I could see having these as a snack with a bit of queso if I want to save some extra calories. I just salted them but you could sprinkle any seasonings on that you wanted or liked. If you already knew about this, thanks for indulging. For me, it is a new yummy way to have my beans.
