petite1: Are you okay today? I'm sure you are sore.

Petite1 - I hope you continued to feel better every day.

I had two sales yesterday. Woohoo! One to California and one to Missouri. I love to see the different states my stuff goes to. I think my first sale this year went to China. It went to a P O Box in New York City but the person's ebay account was based in China. The guy from California messaged me with some questions and was very nice. I'm always concerned that I'm going to get one of those nightmare ebay buyers.

I am doing OK. The scrape turned in to nasty bruise.

mocame, I am glad you had a good ebay week. I had my biggest sale ever. It was a Hattie Carnegie brooch that I bought in a thrift store. I think it went to China, but through a Delaware address. I have had some nasty ebay experiences, but also made some good ebay friends.

I'm so excited to hear both your good news about sales. I sent 30 foreign coins off to a FL auction house and a new auction house has agreed to take my bigger consignment of about 150 coins.

I picked up my niece today at the airport but her baggage did not arrive. We are hoping it shows up tomorrow but that means another trip to the airport on the other side of town. She's a great help to me and we have fun together. We are planning a beach day for Saturday as it looks like it might not rain. I've not been to the beach all this time to swim. I'm pulling out the beach chairs and umbrella that the owner of this house left here. Tomorrow between my work, we'll hit a few estate sales. I was going back to St. Augustine on Sunday. I tried to get some discount tickets for the trolley but they were sold out. I really don't want to pay full price so I might just wing it.

Spent the day in St. Augustine with my niece. We had a great time. I'm so tired though. Luckily, Monday's are not very busy for me. It started raining today at 6pm. Looks like Monday and Tuesday will be mostly rainy. We had planned to go to the amusement park but will postpone until her next visit.

The air conditioning is malfunctioning. The guy is coming tomorrow to fix it.

Petite1 - Oh no! I hope it's an easy and inexpensive fix. Congratulations on your big sale! That's exciting. When doing my research for an items, it seems that sales and prices dropped in July on a lot of things. I hope they pick up when school starts since I know a lot of people's focus is on getting the kids back to school. I know mine is!

Kamboka - Have a great time with your niece! I hope her luggage showed up by now. That's always my fear when flying.

Good morning. The guy is working on the A/C. Shipping ebay stuff today. I think I won some lots on Dudley's auction. The invoice hasn't come, yet.

petite1: Hope your A/C gets fixed. I went a few weeks last year with no air. It wasn't fun. I've not done much auctions this last few weeks since I've missed them d/t company. I'm working on getting a shipment ready for mailing this week. My niece is helping me. Yesterday, she got a henna tattoo in St Augustine and today I treated her to a H20 float session. She will be leaving tomorrow.

mocame: I also think that sales go down in the summer and hope things pick back up as we head towards fall. I'm still waiting on my payout check from the 6/26 auction. They promised me it would be here last week but nothing yet. I emailed them and they said it would be here this week. We'll see. I know not to use them again.

Good morning, ladies. Lot's of rain and street flooding. The A/C drain was stopped up. It is now working.

petite1: We got a reprieve on the rain until late this evening. I think it's rain tomorrow and Friday but clearing for the weekend. The weeds in my yard are loving it.

My cousin called me tonight and wants to move to Jax. I told her she could stay a month or so with me until she gets a few checks. She's selling a house so should have some money soon. I'm a loner but I can make it a few weeks with house guests. I think that with all the hiring signs, she can surely get something even if she changes up later.

Kamboka, It is flooding where it has never flooded before. It is not from the Gulf, it is from the sky. Kids are tubing in the streets. (I would not let my kid do that, the sewers are backing up.) Business are flooded that never flooded. More rain today and I have a dentist appointment.

Oh, wow. I haven't listened to the news much lately (usually a good thing). I didn't realize your area was getting so much rain! Hopefully it ends soon!

I've had 3 sales so far this week! Woohoo! One of the items was something from my husband's business. A customer wanted it for their kitchen and then changed their mind. At least he got some money for it then. Usually those things would then just sit around his shop.

petite1: We haven't had as much rain yesterday and nothing so far today. I don't really live in a flood zone even though they made me buy flood insurance. I was over the river today for an estate sale and noticed that some areas in the roads had a little free standing water. They are in the flood zone.

mocame: congrats on the sales this week. I bought a pretty foot tall figurine at a sale for $7.50. I went to unwrap it and I'd broken the hand off. There goes my great profit. :( I've decided to stop buying porcelain as this is the 4th piece I've had to break. I'm thinking bronze now. I need to downsize my Lladro collection next. I sent off another huge box of coins to another auction house this week and finally my check came in for my first batch of coins that were sold in June. I lost money but at least I recouped some of it back.

Finally remembered my camera to take a picture of one of my hibiscus bushes that I planted a few weeks ago. The blooms only last a day. I put this in the spot where my magnolia used to be. In a few years it will get taller and fill out the area.

    Kamboka, Beautiful bloom.

Yesterday was 2 years since I found the lump. Sometimes it seems long ago and sometimes like it was yesterday.

petite1: Congrats on two years out. I think I forgot my two years in January this year. Oh well. Every year counts! My prayer is that all of us keep getting years without the dreaded "C" word.

Kamboka - Wow! Beautiful flower! I didn't know they only last a day.

Petite - I'm there with you. This Friday will be 2 years since my official 2nd dx. It's hard but after working every day with someone who has stage 4, I'm thankful. I try and make the most of it. Do things now and not plan on doing them later but sometimes it's hard to do that when you are in the grind of life.

I've started reading the Eat to Live Cookbook and so far I like it better than the book. It says things much clearer in a shorter format. I learned that mushroom are like aromatase inhibitors. I haven't heard that before so I need to research it.

mocame, I didn't know that. Interesting.

Kamboka, Looks like Florida is in for more rain and possible tropical storm.

I have been getting stuff done around the house, bushes trimmed, and the pool deck pressure washed. (not me personally, we hired someone.) We still have not located the correct pool steps. Pinch a penny pools keeps saying they are coming in, but never do. I don't want to order online and get the wrong thing.

mocame: I didn't know that about mushrooms. I like them in soups but my favorite is the Zaxby fried mushrooms--of course, I don't need them. Hope the selling is still going well. I sold some of my Easter bunny ceramic collection on Facebook and mailed it off Monday. I still have seven items so I'll relist later.

petite1: Looks like we might be dry for the next week. I don't always watch the news so didn't hear about the tropical storm. I really need to hire a yard man to work on my flower beds. They are pitiful. My neighbor mows my yard cheaply so I don't ask him to do any extra.

I haven't sold anything so far this week. I haven't put much effort into it either because I'm too busy. I still have watchers on 7 items, though. I'm forbidding myself to go to garage sales or thrift shops for while. I need to sell a lot more before I can do that. Running out of room...and the original reason to start selling again was to make room. LOL.

I heard you might be getting more rain. Hopefully not too much. We are in the midst of a heat wave. The hottest of the year so far. Around 100 degrees the next few days. Ugh.

Kamboka, we have Tropical Storm Fred rolling in, Sunday and Monday will probably be rainy days.

mocame, sometimes the watchers start bidding at the last minute.

Our city is so large and rain is so spotty that today I went 2 miles to the CVS. It was not raining at my house. I had to sit in the car waiting for the rain to stop but still got soaking wet. Twenty minutes later I am back home and no rain here. It does look like 45% chance of rain on Sunday.

I've definitely run out of room for all my thifty goodies but look forward to my estate sales every weekend. I've turned my exercise room into a warehouse.

Today, I've lost 60 pounds. I'm still craving potato chips though. I'm trying to eat fruit with cottage cheese for my dessert. Today I bought my cottage cheese at Publix. Got home and forgot about it in the car. Four hours later. Well I'm going to take a chance and keep them. Wish me luck.

    Petite1 - I hope you don't get a lot of rain.

Kamboka - Congratulations on the weight loss! That's awesome!

Kamboka, Wow! That's fabulous. I frequently use under bead storage. LOL My husband bumped to out of one spare room bed. He has diving equipment under it and the other spare bed has shipping boxes under it.

mocame, TS Fred will be rolling up the coast probably Sunday or Monday.

    mocame Member Posts: 564

Petite1 - I'm hearing that Fred will affect us around the middle of next week. The heat and humidity has been bad this week. We've also been having thunderstorms every day so that at least is giving us needed rain. Should cool off to the 80's starting tomorrow.

I haven't had any sales this week. I'm hoping it's just because it's back-to-school time and things will pick up soon.

mocame, I think back to school does drop sales. Usually August is my worst month. I had an issue with an ebay trouble maker. I rarely sell gold, but did list a small gold cross. My scales only measure to the 10th of grams and the guy used scales that measure to the 100th. So he is complaining it was too light. I looked at his feedback left for others and he does it all the time. I am sure if it was over weight he would not say a word. LOL

petite1: I've been lucky not to get any complainers. You are right that he wouldn't complain about overage.

mocame: I was on a call today with my DC colleagues. They all were complaining about it being 97. I told them that we seldom get that hot. Today, I think we got to 86. I told them they could move down but they all hate out Governor. Oh well.

Here's my peach hibiscus with more blooms. I'm waiting for the yellow and pink one to start.
