Hello! I have been working longer hours at work right now, so I haven't been able to do much of anything besides that. We had a family get together yesterday and my daughter came home for that. My son comes home on Wednesday because he gets his wisdom teeth out on Thursday. Plus I'm behind on my bookkeeping in order to get our taxes worked on.

I sold a couple of things this week but not much. I have been creating draft listings on the weekends and then just start one of the listings each day so I have consistent listings going out. I have a DVD that I sold and shipped out on 1/26/22 to California. It still hasn't gotten there yet! I checked with my post office and as of 2/4/22, it was still in NJ! I'm afraid of getting my first negative. I've been listing scarves and handkerchiefs the past couple of weeks. They are easy pictures, listing, and shipping items so that helps get some listings done quickly.

My diet has been going okay. I bought a Ninja to help with that. I did cheat once this week when I went out to eat with a friend and the restaurant didn't have anything close to being vegan or vegetarian. And then again at the family gathering. Why does junk food have to look and taste so good! {Sigh}.

I have an appointment with my BS on Thursday before my son's surgery. This is the first of many doctor appointments I have coming up in the next month or so. Haven't been to any since September.

Kamboka, the weather has been overcast all weekend. It was a good weekend to ebay. I did bid on a Dudley auction, but didn't win. I also bid on an ebay auction and didn't win. My stuff did pretty well. Shipping 16 tiny packages.

mocame, I was very happy to have the business taxes done and over. I slip up on my new healthy eating plan by eating too much starch. I usually have at least 2 good meals and one not so much. I just want my labs to be good and not to be diagnosed with Diabetes. I read some where that dehydration increase blood sugar. So the day of the labs I will drink drink drink.

mocame: You have been busy. It think's it probably extra work having the kids back home even though I'm sure you enjoy having them there. I just think about the clean up I have to do after my visitors. Sounds like you are doing well with your diet. I have to admit that I'm doing really bad with my snacks at night. I'm got to get that under control but will have company two weekends this month. I'm aiming now to do Lent and give up all this bad stuff that looks and tastes so good. I did throw out a pint of ice cream that I bought but didn't like. I've said that if I eat it, it has to taste good.

I have found another auctioneer for some of my things but I will have to take pictures to show him and then take it to Tallahassee. I'm thinking I might do better just trying to sell on FB, Ebay and garage sale, even if I don't make as much. I have some large pictures and glass that doesn't sell well and harder to ship.

petite1: I was told that if you crave water, you might be diabetic. I've crazed water all my life and so far so good. That's why I'm up all night. I'm drinking night and day.

Looks like we all have appointments coming up. I have my PCP on Valentine's Day and my MO on 3/1. They will also do my bone scan on the visit. Mayo is good about scheduleing everything on the same day since they have so many people coming from out of town and they make it convenient.

Good rainy morning. I woke up at 6, took my meds, fed the cats and back to sleep on the couch. I think it is going to be one of those days. I do have a couple of things to ship.

    The sun is out. YAY

Today, I had a repairman come to refinish the surface of my two guest bathrooms. They were a dirty brown with swirls and not they are a clean looking white. Glad I finally got that done. The fumes from the stuff he used was mighty strong. I had all the doors open and was just hoping no geckos would come in.

Today was sunny and warmer and tomorrow should be the same. It gets cooler over the weekend. My brother is coming on the 18th and my sister on the 24th and I'm praying for good weather.

Kamboka, the sun is out, but 37 when I got up. At least the sun is out. The resurfacing, is that tubs and sinks?

I had my tile, tub and countertops redo to white in 2020 and it just brightened up the room. This house had some kind of swirl brown tops and I was happy to finally get the other two counters done. Here is a photo of the brown swirls. Now they are white.

Kamboka, It looks like marble. It was in the 30's this morning and should warm up. I had a good day junking. I picked up a Michael Kors purse for $10. I don't know anything about Michael Kors. Do you? I don't know if it is a fake or not. I can't sell it if it is a fake. If it is I will use it for a while and donate it back to a thrift store.

petite1: I think the Michael Kors should sell fairly well and more than $10. I'm just now learning how to tell if somethings are real or not. It's not easy trying to figure it out. I've got a bunch of Coach bags but don't know if they are real either. Maybe you can put the disclaimer that 'authenticity can't be confirmed'. I see that a lot in my auctions.

I've been using this site called "value my stuff" for appraisals on things that I'm not sure about. Last week, I sent my photos of this Chinese cinnabar plate that I won for $21. They came back and said that it looked authentic and would bring 500 - 700 at auction. Now, the problem is finding an auction house that would accept it and not take 50% or more.

Yesterday, I was on an online site and had bid $30 for this lovely white jade piece. Normally, they end the lot fast but they kept it open. Then all of a sudden, it changed to someone bidding $31, before I could hit bid again, they closed it. I think the auctioneer realized the price was too cheap and he bid and shut it down. I was not happy about that. They should have set a reserve and only started at that price.

Kamboka, I bid on a vintage Miriam Haskell set on Dudley's and they let the in person have it. My online bid was $5 higher, it showed pending and then they gave it to the in person for less. My friend said the in person people have preference. I used the Michael Kors, yesterday. Shipping 6 things, hoping the other people will pay before I go to the post office,

petite1: I knew the auctioneer took the item since the bid only went up one dollar. The normal increment is $5. I listed a few more things this weekend and then lowered my prices but still nothing. Had my PCP visit today. They switched my doctor for the third time in 18 months to a very young lady. She was nice but I don't have all the confidence. Luckily, my MO is still the same. My BP was nice and low and we will wean me from my meds. Although, the BP med is a small pill and my calcium and multi vits are too big for my liking.

Work is starting to slow down a little bit. Last week was just plain crazy. My son had his wisdom teeth out and is still at home. The school doesn't make anything he would be able to eat before he gets cleared this week to eat more normal foods. A 19 year old teenage boy can only eat so much applesauce, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. He is hangry a lot. LOL. I did give him some meatloaf and mashed potatoes to try and fill him up. Haha.

My trip to Fort Lauderdale in March is off. The couple that invited us down is struggling financially and shouldn't be going because they can't afford it. We don't know them well and they asked if we could pay for half of their trip in addition to ours. We were only going to stay for 4 days while they were going to be there for another week after we left. Um...No. That was a no-win proposition.

eBay is still slow for me. I list every day and I only sell 4 or 5 items a week.

My BS appointment was cancelled and I now have it rescheduled for next week along with a bone density scan and an appointment with my PCP to figure out why my reflux is so bad despite eating better.

Good morning. Labs are done. When I got home I wanted to eat everything in sight. I am stuffed, now. These are the ones from the PCP. Next week I have MO appointment and more labs. Those are not fasting. I have a few slow pays from my Sunday auction. I had an antique jewelry box that went for $51.00 and the person that won it only has a feedback score of 5. I have a bad feeling about that.

petite1: I wish I could get to the point of looking at a buyers score. I can't get a hit. :) I'm happy your are selling well. Maybe that person will come through and pay.

mocame: You are correct in not taking that bait to pay their way and they would be there longer. Maybe you and your hubby can come another time by yourself. I still need to get to Disney World. My niece didn't make it in January so we'll see that can happen. I will not go in summer when it's too hot. I'm sure your son is enjoying mom's cooking. I love meatloaf and mashed potatoes. When I was in chemo, all I craved was beef and potatoes and I'm not normally a big beef eater.

Looks like we are all on schedule for our MO exams. Mine is 3/1 for the mammo and the bone scan. I also got a note today that my urologist had scheduled a cystoscopy for 3/2. All I'm thinking about is pain. Have you all ever had that done?

  • mocame
    mocame Member Posts: 564

Kamboka - My MO is on 3/2. No, I've never had a cystoscopy. Doesn't sound like fun.

Petite1 - When I have to fast, I'm starving until I get a chance to eat! And then I usually over do it when I do get to eat. LOL. I hope your customer pays. I haven't had an issue yet.

    Kamboka, I haven't had a cysto. Ouch.

mocame, still no pay. MO on 2/24.

The weather is looking good for my upcoming garage sale next week. I have loads of stuff and hope it sells. Nothing from Ebay. I'll have to lower prices again next week.

I've been watching videos from some sellers that like to send offers out. They say they make more money because even though they sell the item for less, they actually sell the item and it doesn't sit for months. So, I sent out offers last night and sold an item that I originally listed 5 months ago and I'm glad it's gone. And I still made decent money on it.

    petite1 Member Posts: 2,293

When I had the 100 or so purses, I was taking nearly every offer I got. I made money, kept 3, and had Christmas gifts for all the women on my list.

Not sure what all I will list this weekend. When people are snowed in, they buy more stuff. When it is warm and sunny, they are not on ebay buying stuff. Summer is usually a dud for me. I am just about finished with the Dudley stuff. I have stuff from Mount Dora, a lot from a pawn shop and a lot from an antique "mall" that was closing. There is some stuff I bought from ebay, but I haven't even opened it, yet. I tried to win some auctions. but they have gone to high for me to be comfortable buying. One never knows when the next wonderful lot will appear.

It has been warm and sunny. The labs for the PCP came out OK, except for cholesterol. I guess he will adjust my meds. MO next week.

I guess I will send out some offers next week. I need to clear this stuff out. My brother and SIL are coming tonight and will leave on Sunday.

petite1: I keep reading that the cholesterol can go up with our AIs. So far, so good for mine.

So glad to hear that your hubby is feeling better.

My brother and SIL will leave in the morning at 8am. It's been fun.

I'm glad your husband is feeling better. Around here, the stomach bug is going around. Our covid numbers are down a lot compared to what they were a month ago. I have a friend whose husband got it, though. My coworker's husband got it 2 months ago, hasn't been able to go back to work, and still is on oxygen part of the day and night. Even though the restrictions at work didn't change, I went back to church yesterday and went out to eat this weekend. Yay! We don't have as many employees out with covid right now and I feel I can do things now without repercussions if I would get covid.

I didn't have any sales this weekend. Frustrating. I put a lot of offers out. Hopefully this week the sales will pick up.

Mocame, I had a pretty good ebay weekend. Many of my auctions went higher than I expected. I did win an ebay auction, last night. I will stash it away, until my inventory gets low. (under bed storage)

Kamboka, I am glad you had a nice visit.

Finally got a counteroffer on a The Sak bag. I accepted so I hope they pay tomorrow. Of course, when it gets busy, I'll start selling. Sunday, I'll lower prices and send out offers again.

My sister came today and we started getting some of the garage sale stuff staged. Tomorrow, between work, I have to do a lot more. Friday morning will be busy as I've already gotten emails and FB messages about the sale. I hope I don't have to put much stuff back.

Kamboka, I bought a large box of jewelry from an estate sale organizer. It is pretty gross. I will have to wash most of it and it is a lot. It filled 2 dresser drawers. The good old pieces have verdigris and I need more vinegar just to clean that. Most of it is junk. I don't even think I can sell it as a junk lot. I may sell the good pieces and donate the others. I hope I can make my money back. I did not check everything prior to buying it, as it was too large. I have had good experiences and some not so good with this vendor. I hope this will work as good, but I am not feeling that now.
