poodle skirts. Bouffant hair styles that required half a can of hair spray. After sleeping on rollers the size of soup cans.

Water tasted better from the hose.

These are hilarious! I remember working at a summer camp. We would load up a bunch a kids in the back of a "cattle truck" and all 30 or so of us were standing up the whole way, singing songs, yelling "hello" at the cars that passed us on the road. Fun days!

Gas was about 25 cents a gallon, competitive stations would have price “wars". Cashing in pop bottles to put a gallon in your moms gas hog.

I still won’t do perms today, 65 years later cause of those nasty home things.

Remember shopping for a new hat, white gloves & ankle socks, new shoes and a new “frilly” dress for Easter Sunday...

(Easter, a visit to Santa Claus, and the first day of school were our main shopping treats!).

Spookiesmom, I with you on perms secondary to the trauma of those home perms!!

DH and I were just talking about the price of gasoline back then and all those gas hogs.

Remember when Black Jack, Beemans and Clove gum were in every store.

If there's a Cracker Barrel near you, you may be able to find the gum. Or some of the candies from our memories.

yes, Cracker Barrel and Mast General.....I go there to get Mary Janes and Squirrel Nut Zippers. I have a dental bridge that makes the gum impossible....quickly becomes a gooey mess.

Ceanna - you are so right !! I completely forgot about the elastic band around my throat! Thanks for helping me to remember...

I’m sure my Easter hat was passed to a cousin or someone, cause as a young girl, I had a new hat for each Easter!

Have you all shopped with the Vermont Country Store? Their catalog has all sorts of these old fashioned things and is so much fun to read through. Like "Lanz" flannel nightgowns. Link attached for the gum:

Oh my, Evening in Paris, my first very own cologne at age 9, I thought I was as grown up as could be. And now MY favorite is Chanel # 5. Anyone remember Hopscotch?
