Jackie, that's a whole lotta wives your ex accumulated! Interesting how you realized his mother--and not you--was stuck with him allowed you to find forgiveness for her.
Dh was a teenager when his dad's disabling depression pushed dh into being his mother's "fixer". His 3 older siblings no longer lived at home so she groomed dh into taking care of her while making her other kids think she was managing everything on her own. Dh never got any credit for it. The year dh and I married, his dad passed and dh went into overdrive assuming responsibility for his mom. Her other kids lived less than an hour away, but dh shouldered everything. When he and I tried pointing out issues to the older sibs and asked for help, we were seen as troublemakers. Taking care of his mother (for decades) was like having a big spoiled bratty kid who was 30 years older than us. Her kids, dh included, were blind to her manipulations, but I wasn't, and therein lay the friction between she and I. She couldn't get over on me, she knew it and didn't like it. She's in her 90s now and living with a daughter the past couple years, and I'm still working through my feelings towards the whole clan, tho thankful she's finally someone else's responsibility.
Btw, all dh's siblings and their spouses are Trumpers and from what I can tell, all their college-educated kids are, too. Weird.

I fully expect him to come out of this claiming that he had the BIGGEST and BADDEST Covid droplet known to humanity and he has the MOST TREMENDOUS immune system and superhuman body and managed to fight it off, and his cult will see what a STRONGMAN he is to have beaten this nasty Covid to the ground.

Dog Mom and Eren and Trishla, you can count me in on the feeling of having possibly to be subjected to my coivd case was bigger, nastier, and so much more difficult than anyone else's ( forget those who lost their lives, as I know Trump has ) and so will lead his aSS-kissers to Trump nirvana with him.
His Dr.'s were just on tv ( I missed most of it ) and seem to be saying that if he continues to improve he could go back to the WH on Monday which is tomorrow. REALLY !!! He has barely just begun and I think even those with the mildest cases are usually "sick" for a couple or three weeks. Besides, I thought he said he couldn't stand to be stuffed in his quarters for so long. Surely he would not be well enough to wander around the Oval and surrounds. What the hell gives. He left the WH because he was ill enough that they told him now is the time while you can still walk and not have to be pushed in a wheel-chair or heaven forbid taken on a gurney.
Left with the viewpoint that no one is going to be allowed the real truth here and games will continue to be played. No wonder so many of the American people are totally disgusted and so dismayed with this orange feeble-minded, but none-the-less dangerous person. He has been and continues to be a horror story and some of the polls would indicate his very un-sterling performance on Tues. night has indeed cost him if you go by the current national polls. I think the figure I heard was 14 pt.s ahead. I may have that wrong ( have been gone and only picked up snippets as I moved back and forth through the house ), so pls. forgive if I got that wrong.
It really sounds to me that many have their walking papers to paint Trump as IN CHARGE because covid is NOT in charge of him. I will await other word. Anonymous sources did not make Trump's position sound this good, but I've not heard much from those sources last night or today. That is I think the people I'd be more interesting in at this point. Don't trust Trump or his Dr.'s that much

This is insane, despite being covid positive, he's getting in the secret service car going for a joy ride, endangering their lives. He thinks he's special and his doctors went along with that? And not a mention of all those he infected at the event and clearly he's still not promoting mask and social distancing. This is truly astonishing.

Well, he just shot a Twitter video (jacket but no tie) bragging how good he feels. Truth is he spiked a fever, got short of breath and his O2 sats dropped low enough Thurs. and again yesterday that he needed supplemental oxygen. The WH physician (and WR docs) are military employees and therefore under his command--and their CIC has ordered them to put the sunniest possible spin on this. Discharge "possibly as soon as tomorrow?" Puh-leeze--everyone knows that the first 7-14 days are possibly the most dangerous, as COVID can turn on a dime and cause a massive hyperimmune reaction (aka cytokine storm) assuming the patient can even marshal his own immune system. Today they revealed he was given dexamethasone--which is not administered early in the course of the disease, but to fend off an impending cytokine storm. He is indeed sicker than anyone in a position to know firsthand is letting on. And the latest madness? Right after the video, taking a motorcade "victory lap" around WR, waving to his supporters out the window of his SUV, before going back into WR. Nice of him to be so thoughtful about everyone riding along with him inside that sealed car, including Secret Service & the driver. At least they made him wear a mask.
He had the second infusion of a 5-day course of I.V. Remdesivir too. He needs to be monitored closely, with the possibility of a prompt transfer to ICU, with a ventilator nearby. He is also taking his daily aspirin (which might help prevent a fatal clot or multiple clots), Pepcid, zinc, melatonin & Vit. D3. His one positive (no pun intended) contribution to the fight against COVID is becoming America's Guinea Pig in Chief...because he is in a position to get all those state-of-the-art and compassionate-use experimental protocols.
In last night's SNL monologue, Chris Rock got in great zinger, starting his monologue: "Let's get this out of the way first: Trump is in the hospital with COVID. My heart goes out...to COVID." And on the Weekend Update segment, "anchor" and co-head writer Colin Jost said most of those "wishing him well" were probably assuaging their guilt about their first wish coming true.
Biden is now leading in a post-debate poll, 54% to 39%; and even is now ahead on the question of who would better handle the economy. Of course, the poll was conducted before the announcement of Trump's diagnosis, so he may get a bit of a "sympathy bump." We're still 30 days out, and anything can happen--including armed goons taking his Tues. night advice and intimidating minority & urban in-person voters to prevent a Biden election-night EC win.

I can't take him! Not once did he tell anyone to wear a mask and that the threat is real. Maybe he really doesn't have Covid. Maybe he got all those that are 'sick' to go along with him and to show everyone that the virus is so easily managed. I wouldn't put anything past this administration.

Too funny about the night nurse. I came home ( from my cat care job ) wide-eyed watching the braggart talk about how WELL he was and then riding in the car around the hospital. He is so freaking narcissistic -- he can't be out of the spotlight for more than a few hours and he is PLAYING his WH apprentice or in this case Walter Reed part to the hilt and back. I can't say that I've wished him anything -- more that I'm tolerating the current situation but I'm starting to wish things for him that will not sound good or nice or generous.
I try not to hate, but this one pushes me to the outer limits for sure. I don't want to feel true hate because I don't want to get into a place that I can't get back out of, but he soooo pushes it. I was so surprised that I don't know how many people were out there but frankly --- I sort of look on them as people who didn't have anything better to do. Some brought flowers for outside ( I don't have issue with that ) but in much earlier news there were a couple of people standing around then.
Sandy, I agree that this is far too early to be talking about leaving WR now he is there and likely needed some time with supplemental oxygen. We have not KNOWN any real truth ( other than what some of our good reporters un-covered, and thank god for anonymous sources ) since the orange clown showed up. I really think the deals were made right from the get-go that he would be propped up and helped mightily and so he was. Un-fortunately he got to like it and really took it to heart -- being able to bully and do so many things that should not be done went to his head -- and now he thinks he does a wonderful job and has earned tons of respect, even though the Democrats don't go along. I'm so tired of waiting to get rid of this clown one man freak show.
Great to hear that Biden's numbers have shown a great improvement. If Trump gets a bump I don't think it will be worth much or last long. I think sooo many people are un-happy with his behavior ( although some will still be heard to cheer ) on the first debate. After all the rules aren't being changed for Biden, but Trump. Trump lost a lot of ground on that one. So we will see. I've hoped and hoped for another similar 2018 tsunami and while it could be close when the time comes, things are not looking like there could be some promise as well. Just have to get farther along and see health wise for sure where things come out.
