Shoulder exercises done and a 2 mile walk outside. It's a beautiful day here in Central PA. Feeling good and happy with my recovery

I'm getting ready to run the mountain. Just wanted to report in what I have so far this morning:
10 minutes stretching, pulling, resistance training and toning trying to stretch bra back to it's original size! It was thrown in the dryer by mistake.

PS - So impressive you all have done so much already today and being on a weekend! I'm really feeling behind now.

InspiredbyDolce - I lived in California for three years and the dryer stretched everything I owned out to about twice its original size. Everyone else complained about shrinkage! Anyway - I always tell my husband it was punishment for using a dryer in the first place given all that Californian sunshine.

Thinking about it - the American diet stretched me to almost twice my original size too!
My husband recently asked me if all this exercise has made me feel better and I had to answer that being thinner makes more of a difference to the way I feel than anything else. If I just go up a kilo it is really hard to exercise.
Having said that I must also say - Jelly Beans are like children - you got to love them all!

31 minutes - 11km - exercise bike.

Ruth, are those tulips?

Been outside cleaning up flower beds etc. for a few hours. Fun to see what's growing. Another half-hour's work to do yet but needed a break and some H2O. Will finish up, stretch a bit, then take a nice long walk. Planning on tabouli salad for supper and a Leine's Canoe Paddler beer (or two!).

'Nothing tastes better than being thin feels'.....my old Weight Watchers credo. Unfortunately I seem to forget it every time something even LOOKS tasty!
Another bout of 'pick up sticks' today plus some raking. DH has been tinkering with the riding lawn mower for an hour and I just heard it start, praise the Lord! It's always a little shy the first time we go to use it in the spring. So, hopefully he'll have all the leaves picked up soon so they don't blow back under the bushes and get stuck in all the corners that I cleaned out yesterday and today!
I have a brother-in-law who is nearing the end of his life due to cancer, 62 years old. He's been fighting various forms of it for 9-10 years now, starting with his colon. He's also had it on a kidney, in his lungs, and most recently his bladder. Mayo Clinic wouldn't even see him any longer and the hospital he's been working with in southeast Michigan recently sent him home as there is nothing more they can do. We don't know if it will be two days or two weeks but we're hoping he holds on long enough for my MIL to get here from Florida next Friday. He's the reason I bought an AFLAC cancer policy in 2005, mostly because there's cancer on my DHs side of the family - never dreamed I'd be the one.
ruth - love the video, that is soooo cool! And wow! Are those hostas? Mine are poking through but they're nowhere near that big yet. Although I see yours are getting sun.....mine won't see sun until mid-June because they're on the north side of the house right next to the foundation.
Red - hmmmmm, I forgot about the purple jelly beans. Those would be a real close second to my favorite red ones. Hahahaha - 'red' ones - no pun intended!
Inspired - I pulled a couple of sports bras out of the dryer this morning myself and I NEVER dry them in the dryer! Wonder what's up with that?
cdelv - good to hear you're doing so well so soon after BMX! The ROM will come with time.
Heading to the grocery store soon for some last minute items. DS and his fiancé will be here around 5pm tonight. We're having Ruthbru's Chicken Supreme along with sautéed mushrooms, onions and every color bell pepper they have in stock today.

Got out early (10am is early for me!) and got in over 10,000 steps before 1:30 including a stop at Panera's for coffee and the gym for 30 mins on weights. Nice! Friend calling later so may get out for more walking.
Bounce, I'm with you, all jelly beans work for me but none in the house and not going near a store.

Sweet and Special - that's funny! Bounce, In Georgia, it's sunny but hard to hang dry stuff, because of all the humidity!

So sorry about your BIL, sweet.
CDE, glad you are doing well with your recovery!
Those are tulips peeking out. They will be in trouble because the cats like to munch on their leaves.
Walked outside for an hour in shorts and a tee shirt!
Mary, my friend made the video. I would have put the buffalo picture in too if I had done it. Maybe that will be my next venture into technology!

Did an RPM class this morning, every time I do that class makes me realize how much I miss it.
Sweet so sorry about your BIL, for what it's worth get hospice in early they are so helpful. Badger I need to go out an do some pruning my Rose bushes are covered and really need to deadhead, they have come in early and fast this year. Twohobbies sinus headaches are so painful, hope your medication kicks in quick. Too funny Bounce I guess that's what happened to me
And the older I get no matter what I do nothing seems to shift, unlike my goddaughter who decided this week it was time to diet and exercise, she gained about 40lbs at college and after two surgeries on her knees but she turned a corner this week and dropped 5lbs, I think she may have dropped them on me

Sweet I'm sorry about you BIL. This disease is such a battle. I hate it for all!
Went bra shopping today at Victoria's Secret. Can anyone else relate to feeling like "is everyone staring at me wondering why I'm here" or "do they still think I'm as young and hot as I think I am!: ha ha ha. I suppose they don't really care as long as you'll buy a $55 bra. I need a bra for a black tie event dress that doesn't show above the dress and most department stores carry few of my size. So thank you VS for having a lot of variety in my size, even if I am reminded I no longer look like your posters - not the youth nor the hair! I bought 3 and will try them on when I get my dress back from the tailor and then probably exchange two for more summer-like colors.
Came home and did a little yard work and then walked my dog.
Jelly Beans. I only like the jelly bellies and I like to try to guess the flavor without looking at the color. Sometimes its terribly hard! But the real candy I like to eat at Easter is Robin's Eggs. I only get them once a year so they always remind me of Easter! I did not participate in candy this year as my son said he didn't want any so why risk the temptation.

After California I lost about 9 kilos in 7 months. I didn't eat very much. One day a neighbor passed my husband and I and commented on how much weight I had lost. After she left my husband looked at me and said "She's right you know, you have lost a lot of weight." I didn't know if I should be happy that my weight obviously wasn't an issue for the dear man or angry that he hadn't noticed I was hardly eating!
I kept it off for about two years and after a period of stress and aggravation I put the weight on again. I was just about to go on diet (that's my story) when - bam - cancer.
I lost about 5 kilos quickly after that so I wouldn't be overweight when starting Tamoxifen.
My BMI is close to the upper limit of normal so I figure I still need to lose some weight but like you say - it isn't that easy. Especially when I stay up late at night.
Hugs and prayers for everyone in need of them.

Hi ladies. This morning I went to Triple Fat Burner. There are two different instructors for this Saturday class. They switch each week. I was relieved to see the milder of the two walk in. The other instructor is intense and makes the class way more challenging. Just as I breathed out my sigh of relief, the milder one takes a spot on the floor and Drill Sergeant walks in, hahaha. Oh well, she nearly killed me but I got it done. Had to do a little modifying and take many short water breaks. My left shoulder still a bit weak from surgery, so by the end I was doing one-armed jumping jacks. I left there looking like who did it and ran, lol. But it was good. Also did a bit of yard work and so excited to see things are finally starting to sprout here in NY. You know it's been a rough winter when seeing a dandelion in bloom makes you smile. Happy Easter everyone! I also was never crazy about the beans until Starburst started making them - and I like them all, but will gladly give up the orange ones if it makes someone happy

Mary, I'm with you on the malted milk balls. I've been indulging in those and mini Reese's peanut butter cups. Jelly beans? Meh.
Today I ran 1.75 miles, did some stretching, pushups and strength training. Will walk the dogs with DH in a little while before it gets dark. I go out and run every other day to give my old knees a day to recover in between. I'm going to try to increase my distance 0.25 miles each time until I can run 3.1 miles to train my first 5K next month.
Lisa Jayne, so sorry to hear about your BIL.

I finally did my first big ride of the season, ~40 miles. This was made even more challenging as it got quite windy towards the end, as in I was thrilled to stay upright. This is quite difficult when faced with 25 mph gusts.
I think I like "interesting foods" at this point even more than sweets. So, I came back from the Skagit valley with 1) Black Cod for dinner, 2) fresh local eggs, 3) morel mushrooms, which I will make with risotto as a starch to go with my Easter rack of lamb, 4) fresh salad greens with flowers, 5) flash frozen halibut (cheap) for future dinners, 6) raw Guernsey milk, 7) rhubarb, 8) fingerling potatoes that were half the price of here. So many feasts to come.
Plus of course TULIPS from the fields. Picture is below. I needed a major soak to relax tight shoulder muscles....stressed from holding me upright so I didn't topple in the wind gusts and land in a ditch filled with water. But fun, and so glad I did the ride. - Claire

Sweet, sending prayers for you and your family with your BIL.
Claire, love the tulips. Congrats on completing the ride.
Exercise today consisted of lots of walking while running errands as well as weeding and clearing a flower bed to begin preparing for planting my garden next month.
Tomorrow will be spent with family and way too much food. Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter.

Lovely picture Claire. Sweet, so sorry about your BIL.
Did a hill hike today, about 2 miles. Giving myself major credit for doing it. I was really dragging.
Happy Easter, everyone!

Reporting in: 50 minutes - 7 miles EFX. Went late this evening, but had lots of company at the workout center! I was surprised.
Ann, great job! 2 miles is a lot, especially going up hill! Every bit of exercise counts!
I'm going to have to really power through this coming week to make up for miles this week as well as to compensate for my over-the-limit sugar allowance! I will be counting on all your voices to get me through! We took Easter treats to all the offices this week - my Onc, PS and BS get a special treat, and then a small carrot cake for the office. Well, needless to say I've gotten into the leftover candy on more than one occasion this week!! I'm having my husband take the leftover candies to his work on Monday. I can't be trusted with all this sweet stuff around.
About the favorites candies being mentioned, I too love the robin eggs, the peanut butter little eggs and anything Russell Stovers (even more so than Godiva!).
Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter Everyone!
S&S, very sorry to read of your BIL and stress you all are under. Mary, good to read how treatable your gastro issue is and Bounce, I lost 23 lbs last June to September and since returning regularly to the gym in January (months away to care for DH) and judging by comments of well meaning members, must have been a fat pig before and not realized it, LOL! Good for you Claire and have you attened theThe Skagit Valley Tulip Festival? I love tulips and have always have wanted to make the visit to Keukenhof Gardens Thanks to those fo you who offered support on our upcoming PRP fundraiser, our first and hopefully, more to come.
Dithering on running today as no sun, windy and some on/off rain drops. Opted to get ready for Easter yesterday and took it as my weekly rest day. Usually, a non gym day for me consists of running and feel guilty when I don't. When the weather here is nice, it's truly stunning and when it's grey and raining (like this morning), it's rather horrible. Put out my 15 year old's basket last night filled with chocolate and heavy on a malteser theme, husband added a large chocolate egg with his name on it. Boy woke a happy bunny and I was handed a bunch tulips and small box of chocolates by darling husband and homemade card from number one son. Opting to slow cook a leg of lamb today and going for the fall off the bone promise.

LB your dinner sounds delish.
((Lisa)) so sorry to read about your BIL.
I hear Voices and am headed for a walk but wanted to wish y'all

15k walk yesterday, then the flap/new nipple started to have major issues. Not sure what to do now, as walking around top naked isn't really an option! Wonderful.....spring decides to finally arrive and I'm basically housebound or panicced about what's happening under bandage and clothes. Sigh....it's a journey.

oh Nihahi I'm so sorry hope all is okay, I didn't have reconstruction so I'm of no help with advice but just wanted to give you a gentle ((hug))). LB yesterday in my travels I went to Cost Plus and I found Cookies and Cream and Hazelnut Kit Kats from the UK they're in the fridge for special occasions you know like oh I'm going to have a cup of tea
. I just wanted to pop in and say Happy Easter to you all.

Nihahi - if you are worried or in doubt phone your surgeon. I know its vacation but he is a doctor. There must be an emergency number to get hold of him and ask what he prefers you to do.
So sorry you are dealing with this.

Sweet, still saying prayers for your BIL.
No time for formal exercise today as I am expecting 18 for dinner. That'll be exercise enough I think. Lol
Gage is still with us but he's never woken up. Thanks for all you're prayers and good wishes.

Major skin reaction of yesterday (redness, warm, swelling) seems to be receding. I was actually fearing cellulitis....now I believe I was reacting to the tape/gauze/polysporin "thing". Currently sitting in the bedroom by myself "top naked" while my husband visits with our daughter, who is having a significant downward spiral in her depression. I hung in there for a couple hours, now have to take a "clothing break", so I can hopefully get through Easter dinner. Actually looking forward to tomorrow, when everyone is "somewhere else" and I can sit around like a topside nudist....NEVER thought I'd be saying that!!!!

hey, Nihahi...
Stop neosporin. I read that people do react to one of the 3 antibiotics in it. Try bacitracin instead IF you need something. It still has the two main ingredients but leaves out the one that often causes bad reactions. I am so sorry you are having an issue and especially for the timing of it. Prayers for your family. We have struggled with depression in my family and I know how utterly exhausting it can be for all involved. Hugs to you!!!!

Prayers for healing for both your daughter and you Nihahi. (((((hugs)))))
Church this morning, too much to eat for Easter dinner, then a brief 1 mile walk with DS' fiancé and two small grand-dogs, followed by a restless short nap. Can't believe I'm feeling hungry again already!

31 minutes - 11 km - exercise bike.
Nihahi - glad to hear nipple is improving.

Nihahi, hope things continue to improve overnight. If not, call that Dr. in the morning.
I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. Mine started out low key and my plan was to keep it kind of restful. It was so gorgeous, 74 degrees so I got out my swimsuit and laid out on the deck late morning. A little dose of sun, relaxation and Vitamin D. Then we went to late brunch. When we got back I decided to do a little weeding and yard clean-up - yes this job is just as endless as shovel and sculpt was. Now I'm back in rest mode and sitting on the deck watching the busy birds.
