Love dancing to Thriller!
It rained during the day but was predicted to stop before evening. Filled flat with air and brought car to get a new tire (have to go back tomorrow bc they had to order it). So while I was out I bought candy for tonight.
Had about 30 trick-or-treaters. That's all. We used to get 130. Or more. So many options now with Trunk-or-Treats everywhere. Plus our town has a huge Boo Bash and the streets are closed so merchants can hand out candy, games, etc. That was Saturday night so I thought we would get more kids tonight.
Here is a picture of a ghost I put up this year. Made it with an old window sheer. I always carve a pumpkin. It was so thick I could hardly get a knife in it. Brought the pumpkin in from the yard and is now in our den as we watch Halloween movies. Waiting for the candle to burn down.

Happy November! I have been reading but not posting through my recovery from a knee injury (last April!) ugh.
Thank you to all who have continued to post, I have been sending silent blessings your way, each of you!
So far this week I did a Candlelight Yoga on Sunday evening, had a deep tissue massage yesterday that has left me bruised on my IT band (one of the lingering problems with my knee is my IT band seizing up...but there has got to be a better balance between a very tight IT band and a bruised stretched out one), I'll go to a gentle yoga later today.
Weather here in SE Virginia is up and down (was really praying for you Wonderland for your daughter's wedding, the day before was bad, but that Saturday turned out okay!), today is in the low 70's so I will make sure to spend some time outside.
After years of exercising at mid-day, my 6month recovery has made all my co-workers claim mid-day as okay for meetings! Gratefully the semester is more than half over so I'll juggle until then and have already blocked my electronic calendar for next semester...which may be my last...retirement seems nicer all the time and my mother at 87.5 needs more time when I still have patience rather than just what I have at the end of a long day.
Take care all, TT

Great to hear from you, TT! Oh how I would like to do Candlelight Yoga. It sounds wonderful! I LOVE retirement & if you can afford to retire, I strongly endorse it!
It was such a nice evening that we had tons of trick-or-treaters. In fact, I had to send DH out for more candy. I got lots of exercise running up & down the steps answering the doorbell (I have a split level house) and always leave my lights on until 9pm.....if big kids want to be out getting candy instead of doing bad things, I am all for it I did the very smart thing of putting a baby gate at the top of the steps so Bruno couldn't run down and scary the kids to death. I went to Pound this morning.
Here is Count Bruno the Vampire Dog surveying his domain.

TT: Good to hear from you! I am so sorry your knee has not completely healed. Candlelight yoga sounds sooooo relaxing. Thanks for sending your silent blessings.
And yes, we were very fortunate about the weather on dd's wedding day. As a matter of fact, this is their 1 month anniversary.Ruth: Good thing you had lots of trick-or-treaters last night so you don't have leftover candy you would feel obligated to eat! (At least, I would feel obligated lol) Bruno makes a cute vampire.
Walked/ran this afternoon.

A beautiful morning for a walk. Pound tonight.

Tai Chi at midday
Also just finished a book from a new author to me, Jean Meltzer "The Matzah Ball" ... a fun take on a Jewish writier of Christmas Books (hiding it from her Rabbi father) and finding love, etc. etc. The author and main character of the book have ME/CFS....ME being the medical name for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, eye opening.
My women's reading group at school brought this book to me, loved it and can't what for her next book to come out this winter.
With shorter days, I need fun books! TT

TT, here are some fun books to try:
*The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Joansson
*The Sweet Potato Queens Book of Love by Jill Browne
*Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

*West With Giraffes by Lynda Rutledge

Beautiful picture, Ruth!
TT and Ruth: Thanks for the book recommendations.
Raked leaves today for only 30 minutes. Lots more to rake!

Our move to my home state got cancelled as the deals on both ends fell through, so we are here until next Spring at least. So because I have so many leaves in my yard today blowing in from my neighbors yards so I went outside and started blowing them into a pile with our new leaf blower until the battery died.

Good to hear from you, mOmmy! Sorry that the deals fell through. The wind is blowing like crazy here (and it was 23 degrees colder this noon than yesterday!), so we will need another raking day too. I had a bunch of apples a friend gave me from her tree, so just finished making them into an apple cake. The house smells very good! Dance2fit & Yoga tonight.

Got most of the leaves done today. Going to finish the leave I didn’t get to tomorrow

M0mmy: So good to see you! Disappointing that both deals fell through. Hopefully things will be different in the spring.
Ruth: A fresh apple cake sounds delicious! Smells like fall.
Dh and went to the NC Zoo today. Just a gorgeous, cool day to be outside at the zoo. Over 12,000 steps. Here are a few pictures. FYI: the gorillas are sleeping. The zoo placed straw right by the observation stations and just about all of them were napping. The Arctic Fox is beautiful.

Very nice, Wonderland!
The cake is very good; luckily I gave half of it away!

Walked the dog, raked, and am cleaning the house. Busy day!

Hello all! Been away a long time. Drifted away due to all the website issues, but they seem to now be resolved. Loved all the wonderful photos and "catching up". Hope to return regularly, now.
All good here. Lovely autumn weather in my area (greater Cincinnati, OH). Hubs rakes leaves a little bit each day so not too overwhelming. Still doing Silver Sneakers Zoom exercises 6 days a week, plus two Pilates through local Cancer Support Community.
Healing energies to all in need!

Karen: I just watched the news about the weather in Denver. Hope you are doing fine and that you weren't involved in the traffic damages!
Celiac: Good to see you again! Looks like you are staying very active. I need to look into doing Silver Sneakers Zoom exercises to switch up my activity.
Ruth: Busy days are good!
Early voted today then raked and hauled leaves for 2 hours. My arms are sore!

Thanks for the book recommendations Ruth and TT. I took a photo of Ruth's list so I can get each book. I was able to download The Matzah Ball book with Hoopla this morning so I plan to start it tonight. Also love the photos from the zoo Wonderland. You have some very beautiful animals at your zoo. I love to walk around a zoo to see the animals. I have never seen an Artic Fox before, such a beautiful animal.
I over did it yesterday with my physical therapy exercises for my hip. I am using 3 pound weights for the first time and it sure changes things up. My legs started shaking during my line dance class two hours later. I definitely need the strengthening.

Great to 'see' you, Celiac!
Wonderland, raking/hauling leaves is definitely exercise. We may be done for the year........
You will have to tell us what you think of the books, coffeelatte!
Karen, hope you are doing okay. Are you on to your new assignment?
The other thing I did yesterday was to get my Omicron booster shot. I didn't really have any reaction other than being so tired this afternoon that I took a nap on the couch with the dog. I went Yoga Strength this morning, and vacuumed (thus finishing off the house cleaning). It is cold and very windy here, so I skipped the great outdoors and danced around for half an hour with Marshall Fitness on utube.

coffeelatte: Hope you're resting your legs. The NC Zoo is the world's largest natural habitat zoo. It's beautiful and offers lot of walking along with seeing the animals.
Ruth: I was fine after my 5th booster, just a sore arm. Glad I had it when I got Covid about a month later. We have had a warm, windy day. Got up to 77 degrees.
Walked/kinda ran this evening.

Friday did a home exercise program and then got both my Covid Booster and Flushot...
Saturday I spent 12 hrs in bed...having just read that book about chronic fatigue, when I was in bed deliberating if I had enough energy to roll over and get a sip of water or if I should conserve energy to actually get up and go to the bathroom, yikes! Gratefully, at almost exactly 24 hrs after shots administered the fever broke. Very glad to have them and to have that part done. I travel in 2 weeks for business to DC and two weeks after that for business in NYC (first airplane ride since March 2020) so wanted to be fully boosted up.
Yesterday/today/tomorrow we are high 70's (actually hit 80 for a minute yesterday)...enjoying time outside today.
Candlelight Yoga tonight at 5:00...actually in full candlelight now that the clocks are set back.

Well, its our third day in a row of low80's for a high...took a walk midday. My monthly wine group is tonight on zoom...might zoom in from the patio to enjoy the weather...someone forgot to tell the weather gods it is November, sure we will be paying for it soon! TT

I hope we do NOT send you our weather, TT! The winds were howling at 60 mph yesterday, so today I was back in the yard again picking up leaves and branches for two hours. And there are winter storm warnings for Thursday & Friday. Ugh!!
We did walk the dog yesterday & I went to Yoga. Today, along with working in the yard, I am going to a POUND class. Tomorrow DS's fiance has invited me to go wedding dress shopping with her, her mom & sister. Fun!

TT: Oh my goodness! Glad your reaction to the 2 shots didn't last longer than 24 hours. It's exhausting when you are like that. Sounds like you rebounded quickly. Wine zoom on the patio sounds delightful.
Ruth: Your weather sounds horrible! Please don't send it our way. Have a fun time tomorrow! There were 6 of us when dd went dress shopping. We only went to one salon bc we knew the salon owner. Dd described what she was looking for and everyone picked out a dress for her to try on. I was overwhelmed by the choices that I didn't pick one out. After she tried them on we helped her narrow it down to 2 dresses. She tried those on again. When she decided on the one she wanted, I asked who had picked it out. Turned out the salon owner had pulled it. I'm telling you this bc they know they their inventory and how to match it to the bride's desires.
We also are having 80+ degree weather. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. Walked/ran/sweated this afternoon.

Wonderland, we are going to two salons. The bride has said, while she has some ideas about what she'd like, she is going to let the assistant pull out some dresses, as they should be experts on what looks good on different body types. As I see it, my role will be to agree with the bride. If she likes it, I like it. If she doesn't, neither do I.

That's being a good future MIL!

Happy Election Day Everyone!
Luckily the city sucked up the majority of our leaves that we hauled to the front of the house today. Couldn't get them all bc their truck was full. I added 2 more piles to the small amount that was left. Hopefully they will be back tomorrow. Done with the major raking. I push mowed for 50 minutes to start getting the weeds and loose leaves. Will finish tomorrow.

Voted this morning, yoga at lunchtime.
For the first time in 35 years my school closed for election day to encourage all to vote!

TT, I wish Election Day was a Federal holiday! I voted last week as we were wedding dress shopping yesterday. The Bride said Yes to the Dress; so it was a fun happy day. She found her gown at her first appointment, so cancelled the other shop she was going to check out.....which meant I got home in time to go to my Zumba and Yoga classes.
A rain/ice mix brought the Wednesday Women inside for a walk at a mall this morning. I did some grocery shopping after that & need to make another trip out before the really bad weather hits. We are in a blizzard warning for tonight & all day tomorrow. I hope to sneak in a Pound class at 4:30 before everything shuts down. Fall is over for us! (If I don't check in tomorrow it means the power lines are down from the freezing rain ahead of the 12+ inches of snow!
)

TT: Good for your school to close for Election Day. Especially this election!
Ruth: So glad your future dil found her dress. I bet she didn't want to take it off. Goodness, be safe in your ice, snow, cold, etc.
Unlike Ruth's weather, we had 65 degrees with a nice breeze under blue sky. All that will change starting tomorrow evening and especially on Friday when Storm Nicole comes up from Florida.
Push mowed for 1 hour. Also was able get in a shortened walk/run before a zoom meeting.

Met a friend this morning to walk plus catching up since last time I saw her.
Storm Nicole is coming our way with plenty of rain, wind tonight and tomorrow. Will not be as windy as the last storm 6 weeks ago, thank goodness.
Prayers for Florida.
